The message here from Ben is: Slow down! Take the time to troubleshoot the issue so you fix it just once! And ya wont be throwing the parts cannon at the problem. Great vid!
had a dryer that we thought was bad, got a new one and it didnt work. Had 240V at the outlet but still didnt work. Called the contractor back out, didn't work, they got us another new one, still didnt work. At that point we knew it was not the dryer nor the old one. COme to find out the outlet was reading 240V but it would not pass current. That wire was bad, so we had to replace that 240V line from the outlet back to the breaker, THEN the new one started to work AND the old one started to work again. SO reading 240V at 16:32 at the video means nothing
I’ve watched this 3/4 times yet I know how to use the fluke and gemteck I have AllWAYS learning as much as possible Retired diesel mechanic, 58 years of it and bad back but still working and learning appliances repair now
I'm an HVAC tech trying to figure out my washer issue but you got a subscriber based on that wife joke alone. My fiance was listening as I was and we both looked at each other and giggled.😂
Great info. Maybe you can take it a step further and show us how where to find the correct numbers, so when we test a sensor we know what “normal/working” looks like?
That will vary between every single sensor by model which is why. I have the videos that show you generally how to repair and test things for the proper homewriting. This was just meant to be a guide in general, but maybe at some point. I can do another follow up video. That would just have me testing all kinds of different things for ohm ratings.
I'd check for visual matches to broiler. Many times the botique companies are contracting the same places Whirlpool and Frigidaire do. I know for example, Viking gas ignitors that are $250 are basically an IG9998 which retails thru us for $30.
So I am watching yet another one of your videos lol!!! I am testing my washer's control board while consulting the service manual and I have a question that you may think is dumb. I have tried googling and car batteries keep popping up. So I checked the "j12 shifter" control and it is supposed to read 12VDC and on my mulitmeter it measures 11.1VDC ... is this bad?
Nooooo, don’t ruin good parts to demonstrate a bad circuit. Electrical troubleshooting requires way more info than you could put in one video. Just finding the correct value resistance for a component could fill an entire video. However, great demonstration of why shotgunning parts is a waste of time and cash. Maybe show electrical troubleshooting and repair on a broken unit from start to finish. It would probably require a lot of editing to compress the video time, but better demonstrate your methods and train of thought.
I plan to harvest my old compressor from the refrigerator. Has anyone tried to shut close the lines with the help of hand held hydraulic crimp tool before cutting the lines. Is it going to work? I don't have a proper evac system.
It is extremely hard to read the multimeter close up box in your video. Any chance you can adjust the contrast or lighting in the future? I will give you a tu for the side comment about the back end. Lol.
I have to admit....when you were explaining not to touch the posts with your fingers when testing for voltage and then sparks flew when you acted like you did.......I jumped a bit.

Remind your wife of that one... pure gold.

you are the first person i've ever seen use a dental pick to open a package... i.. am not alone...
It's the only thing I had near my desk so I just used it.
@@bensappliancesandjunk that's how it starts... then you keep opening packages and always reaching for it. because it is always there, handy.
Ben what's upan ? It was nice meeting you in ATL. Thanks for what you do 🤗
Thanks for those tips
Good video, thank you. And yes, I jumped. Then I laughed.

Sometimes the funniest comments are the least expected. “Sometimes I like to remind my wife about that too”.
Very interesting, thank you

Voltage means NOTHING ....
You can have voltage but no current flow. Current flow is what matters.
I can’t remove the brake assembly on an old Maytag washer and I either need the old tool or a miracle to get it off ! Anyone have any suggestions?
There's a brake tool for that

I may do another video in future. I tried to enhance it ad much as possible but I didn't realize how bad the camera angle was honestly til I was done

I saw someone do this with a capacitor in a video and knew it had to try it
If you're not testing you're guessing. Don't be a PCM. (Parts Changing Monkey)
Your tie is all jacked up man. Not your style 😊
Yeah didn't notice til editing :-(
Wow 👌 great positioning of your religious propaganda. I'll give ya another chance but if I see any more religious indoctrination crap I'm out. 😁
What did I say during the video of any religious nature?
Be who you are no matter what others say or do
