Welcome to the Letterman UA-cam Channel, home to all your favorite clips from Late Night and Late Show - as well as conversations with the writers, producers and performers who helped make it all happen. The language may strike you as quaint & flowery, the clothing comically lacey & ornate - but that’s how things were back in this colorful and now bygone era. - Розваги
The last part: it’s seems Barbara knows what Jill is talking about. That Laugh.
I came here to say the same thing. Hearing Barb laugh made me laugh.
@@debschaefer7820 it’s unmistakable hahaha 😝
That Cheney battery pack cracked me up. 😂
Credit to Dave for crediting Carson for the great jokes, and credit to Jill for the great writing! These were definitely some great highlights!
Credit to credit for crediting credit.
Barbara’s laugh at the end is great.
"You guys are Americans." - Ladies and gentlemen, only Bill Murray can come up with that line.
Jill, I love your stories. I watched it all, now it's great to hear some "behind the scenes" musings. I loved the paper story and know it's true because of who laughed. Thanks again.
Every Staff Moments are GREAT GREAT!!!
Thanks for these!!!! Staff favorites are fan favorites!!!
Writers FTW... Thanks for posting this to show why we need them!
Jill is yet another prime example of "working your way up!"
i guess it can happen time to time
like the only example but yes
From the thumbnail I thought they were arresting Ted Cruz
Well, Jill did a great job helping you out, Dave. You know how to hire people.
God I LOVE all these retrospective videos. I remember laughing my ass off at the "PPY DAY HOLE" cake
The bit with Cheney was killer funny. You have some very happy memories and are a very talented comedy writer.
The horn in the music when Bill Murray appeared on stage, was top notch.
Great job Jill! It's so cool to get a peek behind the scenes!
Great stuff. Thanks, Jill!
Great job, Jill!
Another wonderful installment of staff's favorite picks. This channel is a gift that keeps on giving. I was always a very big fan of this show but since I live in the Netherlands it was only aired from time to time. Maybe luckily so because now I can enjoy it like back then with lots of things that I see now for the first time. Thanks again and keep them coming!
Are you aware of Don Giller? He has a UA-cam channel with a ton of Dave stuff.
@@debschaefer7820 No I wasn't but it really looks promising. Will most definitely check it out. Thanks so much!
That was so fun and nostalgic, thanks!
These were BRILLIANT!! I remember ALL of them. The birthday cake joke was so funny!!!
Excellent work, Jill, thank you!
So Fun! TU Miss Jill😂❤
Jill, you are an awesome lady!
Letterman writers were the stuff of legends. I'm a huge Conan fan but Dave and his show(s) really invented the genre and ran with it.
What a fun job. I started watching Goofy Dave back in the '80s. He was my reward for a night of study in school. Thanks for giving him something we could laugh about.
I remember watching his very first show plus many after (about 6 months.)
"Bob the dog" videos were fun!
God, I love these so much!
I love this series of videos. Wait? Was there an echo? Seriously - SFM videos really are great - thank you!
He was the best. If anybody better ever comes along, I hope I don't miss it.
I love this series of videos. Have they done any of these with members of the band other than Paul?
Technical team as well. Sound engineer, camera operator, sound engineer. technical director, sound engineer...
Need Anton, Will, and Sid
Great clips, thanks Jill!
Good for you, great gig! I really enjoyed your work.
Funny stuff thanks for sharing Dave
The part Bill Murray comes in and you hear how absolutely awesome the late night band was...I'm a musician and man that is the band I would want to be in.
Really cool Jill. Thanks!
That was great!
good job!!
The staff favorites vids are becoming the highlight of my week! (Not sure what that says about me)
how i miss that show
One the funniest yet
It's very special when David Letterman is truly funny because it happens so rarely.
Love Dave too
You gotta love Johnny
So the Letterman show is producing better content after it ended then all late-night show's currently in production. Current late night television needs an enema.
Fun and funny stuff.
R.I.P. Jill Goodwi...
Oh. Sorry. Yeah. These are great.
Met bill Murray a few times great comedian just being his silly self
Gold
i sure do miss seeing Dave...
What song was the band playing during Bill Murray’s entrance?
Cool thanks,
The sneezing monkey!!!
That time Billy Christal came riding in on a donkey.
Love it... cheney saying Obama's going to be a one-term president
dang, she came up! =- T
The Schmettermann.
Dave would tell Carson jokes - Yeooooch. 👍📺

Oh..gee..I thought for a minute there that the thumbnail photo was a real picture of that cretin finally being arrested for all the sexual harassment complaints about him over the decades. I was wrong.
Wait, what??? A writer's assistant??? What does that mean?
Sharpens pencils, makes copies, changes typewriter ribbons.
The staff writers always complain that they couldn't get their material on the program. She assisted them in not getting their material on the show. Writer's assistant.
Wait, you mean any average joe and jane may send in our jokes and if picked, gets paid $50 for one? How do I sign up?
The last ten years of the Late Show, Dave's greatest weakness and greatest strength were both that he just gave. no. fXcks.
Great clips, Jill. Didn't quite make it to the end but some real belly busters
How I love Jill Goodwin! I got so many bits of her climb to writer WRONG in my podcast. Sorry, Jill. One booboo is that she is 23 yrs younger than I am, not 10-15 yrs younger! She's also a Gator, not a Seminole. What IS TRUE is that she graciously came to the street where I was perched on the fire hydrant in 30 degree cold, introduced herself kindly (she was the UF, not FSU, roommate of my fellow Greek folk dancer friend, Terri Kontodiakos), and I never stood up to greet her. Could say that I was frozen to the hydrant, but really, I just didn't absorb Emily Post manners. Regret. I had NO IDEA that she would be coming to meet me, have no idea to this day how she knew I was there, but that wonderful, gracious act makes me smile (and cringe with embarrassment) every time I think of it. Thank you, Jill. Wonderful clip, and wonderful seeing you in "Bathtubs"!
Darth Vader still lives.
I miss seeing the old Letterman show I like these. But I can understand why he wouldn't be at his own going away party shame on Letterman for that
These people all talk like they're in a cult.
Yes, President Trump does have great hair. Glad Dave noticed.
The joke was it's visible from space. No one said it was great.
Who said women can't be funny?
Not Eric Cartman.
Milton Berle.😊
Norm
:)
You can tell how much late night has changed over the years. Marginally funny then, totally not funny today. I hit the sack at 10 during the week.
Wonder if she ever wrote anything funny? Don't remember anything funny on snl that decade she was there.
I dunno... Gimmicky jokes... Stooped to Leno level (well, maybe not that bad). It seems to me that this stuff isn't what brung Dave there...
We don't need the writers' boring biographies. Just show the clips.
The Great Wall of China is NOT visible from space.
Dave was known to not support female writers. Maybe this is a type of mea culpa. It's not enough.
Hmm. I think he's had female head writers.
Pay the writer's NOW//////// end the strike NOW
