Welcome to the Letterman UA-cam Channel, home to all your favorite clips from Late Night and Late Show - as well as conversations with the writers, producers and performers who helped make it all happen. The language may strike you as quaint & flowery, the clothing comically lacey & ornate - but that’s how things were back in this colorful and now bygone era. - Розваги
Dave's mom was a freakin' saint! A saint!
The drive-thru remotes were always among my favourites! “She‘s gone already, Chief!“
Please stop calling me Chief...
Thank you to Dave as well as the rest of the staff for the continuous laughter!
Love that the car dealer owner came up with the idea to saw off the roof
I'm running out of ways to praise these Staff Favorites videos! This is yet another home run.
Having the best belly laughs here, kiddos!
Thanks David
😂😂😂😂😂
Dave probably had so much fun pranking rich apartment owners that he didn’t mind (that much) that the remote they had filmed didn’t air. At the very least, he’d confirmed that Pete-or-Alex wasn’t going to be boring.
HA HA! I'd never seen the Regis uncomfortably struggling with the tent on the freeway thing. I'm on the floor. Good work, boys.
I love this series of behind the scene chats. Funny as hell.
Birdie in a box.....i remember it like it was yesterday, awesome!
How did I never originally see the hippo and the monkey? They were great!
Great bits guys. Love you Dave.
These Staff stories are the best!! Love it!! 😂😂😂😂
Hey writer boys! Great job.
The balloon bit was hysterical.
This was my first time seeing it! I could not stop laughing! A buck and a half for a balloon!?! 🎈
80's 90's Letterman was the best.
Well, to paraphrase Julius Caesar, I came, I saw, I concurred! 😎🎭
No doubt that was the golden era. I'm just grateful he survived the heart surgery and still with us.
I recall a bit he did post-recovery where at one point he picked up a jar of mayonnaise and (quite sincerely) he matter of factly informed the crowd: "THIS, folks, is a tub of lard!". And that cracked everyone up, myself included. If anyone else had done that, you might have had people nodding in agreement, maybe some slight murmurs. Dave just deadpans the line with no funny expressions or quirkiness and folks bust up laughing. Thats magic.
I remember when Biff got hypnotized. I was rolling with laughter.
And then you dozed off?
These staff moments never disappoint!
I always love the staff-chosen clip videos, but it turns out that these guys orchestrated some of my most favourite stuff! Good to know!
@@kstepko is a group home and
Sleep, sleep, must kill Morty.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Oh man, these clips are so good. I'm surprised that I don't remember more of them--I never missed a Dave. I couldn't stay awake that late so I would have my VCR set all week long and tape every show. On weekends I'd have ''Dave-outs''--I'd watch'em all, fast-forwarding through the commercials. Plus I went to three live tapings. I was a true ''Dave Slave''. He could make anything--or nothing--funny. No one was better, before or since. I had been a Carson fan, but Dave took over as king.
I thought the hypnosis thing was a 'bit' and not real.
I went to the tapings in San Francisco and spent every day that I wasn't in the audience outside in the Palace of Fine Arts. Got to meet Biff, Calvert DeForest and a ton of famous people, including local celebrities. It was wonderful. I still have a a blue and gold foam Basketball which was given to people. Mines signed by Calvert "Larry Bud Milman" DeForest and Biff. Wonderful times. I was 14 at the time.
Honestly, that homemade convertible was not half bad! I wonder how many teenagers bought an old used car and tried that?
This is one of the best of the staff moment videos, more from these two please!
Two wild and crazy guys.
David Letterman retiring from the Late Show was tantamount to the day the music died, with the loss of Buddy Holly. Late night Comedy died a horrible death with S/Colbert taking over control.
I felt actual pity for Colbert, who I like just fine. But how the hell do you fill THOSE shoes? Thought Colbert was pretty brave to take that one on, could have easily been a career killer.
I have always wondered if the people who were hypnotized again by watching themselves in the hypnotism segment - Biff, in particular - were faking or not. Thank you for verifying that there was, indeed, pandemonium throughout the Ed Sullivan theatre!
So they were really hypnotized? I'm a little skeptical about hypnotism, but if they weren't faking, I guess it's real.
I've heard that squirrel's got some awfully big nuts. 🐿
"TOUCHDOWN!" 😂
I didn't want it to end when it did.
Don't call me Veronica.
and This, Ladies and Gentleman is why no one was greater than Dave Letterman!! A hippo & a monkey in a shiny hat!
And the monkey catches the hat and puts it on like a boss. Epic bit.
Love.
These are the guys behind “Watergate Plumbers” currently airing on HBO.
COMEDY GOLD! Gawd, these are fun! Thanks, Dave and crew!!
The guy on the left doesn't look a day over 30
I was thinking the same thing…he’s gotta be pushing 50 but he looks great.
I was having a bad day, but no more 😊
Genius
I thougth you were gonna talk about that time when Rupert was clowning around in front of the most dangerous sicario of the Tijuana cartel.
Still not enough Leonard Tepper on this channel.
Do you know where they found Leonard? Was he on staff at the Letterman show? If they mentioned it, I missed it.
@@debschaefer7820
I have no idea.
What’s that song at 14:20?
I think it’s “Sound and Vision” by Bowie
@@mdj1967 Exactly! My mind had gone blank. Thx Mike.
These guys look like The Good Liars.
Does anyone know where Leonard came from?
So, WERE they high quality balloons?
In the 50 years on TV, how many writers did Dave have?
I love your screen name here on UA-cam. I don't know how many times I've had different situations and said that. Probably most of them when I was a little kid but I never grew up sooo.....Combat ruled
Which one is Pete and which one is Alex?
Pretty nice car for $850.
Why couldn't the real estate remote piece have been used without the signed releases, by blurring out the faces of the real estate agents?
Great question.
Maybe the locations being private properties creates some kind of added legal liabilities? Just guessing. Would have loved to see it.
Pete = Rohn Rrasinski
BET THESE TWO LOVED SAN FRANCISCO
So you think they're funny?
@@usaturnuranus I think you're funny too little fella.
And I think you're really thweet.
It’s crazy that there was a time in this country where Dave letterman and Joe Montana could walk through San Francisco without getting killed.
Stop watching Fox.
