- Malea Tribble and her husband, Rickey Tribble, were participating in a paddle board relay race when a hammerhead shark emerged from the water, trailing Malea's paddle board.
After hopping on the boat, they regrouped and decided to continue the race once the shark left. Malea said she plans to race against next year as it helps raise awareness and funds for people with cystic fibrosis.

Something similar to this happened to my lil brother one time when we were all out on our family boat knee-boarding. We just saw a big fin come up and stay up swimming right behind him while he was on the knee board. My step reacted by calmly raising the speed and telling us to be quiet. Eventually we were going to do fast that my brother started yelling at us and asking why we were pulling him so fast. Once we finally saw the fin disappear (it trails him even after we sped up for a good way) we immediately stopped the boat and told hil not to let go of the rope and we all pulled him in fast as we could. He still don't know what was going on. We told him after he was safe. That element I believe was very important because he was inexperienced and panic would of caused him to fall to soon.

But they took her inexperienced butt out there to begin with. Yeah real smart.
'Fantastic, I thank you' in a daily tone😅
Dave, stay there. Paddle away and draw the shark with you 🤣🤣
underrated comment...lol
😂😂😂😂😂
Look at how calm they are this is unbelievable
Yelling and making noise, makes a shark more aggressive.
It’s not like a shark would attack a human without a reason, it’s probably just cruising and being nosy
@BoxHillAbo not all sharks are great white 😂😂😂😂 they are more likely to be scared of us
@@zaroshybrid9203sharks don’t commonly attack humans but when they do it’s most often surfers/paddle boarders etc.
One reason why you won’t catch me out in middle of ocean unless I’m on cruise ship 😂
Sharks kill like 4 people per average per year.
You're way more likely to get killed by your neighbours dog.
Seriously, nothing will happen. Sharks are way more intelligent as you think (they have insane senses) and except for great whites, bull or tiger sharks, they almost all eat fish. They're curious about you at best.
This woman wasn't at all in danger, hammerheads are big, but even attacks are rare. It was just checking her out. These encounters happen way more often. And if there wasn't any spectators, the shark would have been unnoticed, just like most of them.
After what happened with the Titanic, I will pass o the cruise too friend!😂
NOT EVEN ON A CRUISE SHIP JUST STAY OUT OF THE WATER
It could sink at night and the sharks would pick you off one by one
@@1TheWhiteKnight1jokes on them I don't float I'd just drown
The leadership was superb.
Gabe is getting hammered. 😂
Nice play on words 😁💯!
Ayo
Paddle Boarders are like Food served on a Plate especially when your out that deep 😮
For a hammerhead 😂 Nah
Hammerheads have never killed a human.. 18 attacks in history..
I wouldn't care, if l saw that fin I'd be getting to a bigger boat or land 😂. All these shark experts, l wouldn't be checkin to see if it was a friendly shark.
@@irishcountrygirl78 Called research, and I just happen to be a fisheries biologist.. I studied sharks and rays..
@@JasonFulton-dn8zqwouldnt care to be number 19 pal lol
My god she’s so calm. Wow.
She didn't know it was there. The spotters just said "come to this side". Didn't want to spook her and make her panic, fall in, etc....
Women have nerves of steel. Men are the emotional ones.
She did know. Turn your volume up and listen at the beginning of the video. @@interestedbystander196
Glad no one got hurt and everyone was calm.
Man, and I think I'm experiencing stress when I'm on the phone going through 3 minutes of waiting for a real person to answer. 👍 Seriously, I'll have to remember there's always somebody else at that moment, experiencing a lot more stress. 😉
As I age and get older I find I stress over actually calling places. Not sure why. It's like I put it off and put it off to call someone.
I'm fine once on the phone, tho. Just figured I was going nutso
I do the same thing! @@Emeraldwitch30
@@Emeraldwitch30I feel the same way lol. Sometimes I have to call people at work and it’s my least favorite part of my job.
@@Emeraldwitch30I’m the worst at not wanting to call people. I’ll reluctantly text.
The phone is probably more stressful.
Years ago there was a report on a paper done that found people on the bus on the way to work experienced higher levels of stress than pilots in a dogfight.
It comes down to you having no control over the scenario. Those pilots have trained and removing the technological differences, the result comes down to what you do.
You can't alter how fast the bus goes or how often it stops. You can't force someone to pick up the phone.
In this video, she is in control on how it pans out. She just has to avoid falling off.
After any initial shock, it's probably the most composed and focused she'll ever be in her life.
