But even so, most sharks and particularly great whites never attack humans on purpose as they only attack when they've mistakened someone for a seal, usually they'll bite someone's leg and immediately let go and swim off. Bullsharks on the other hand are a different story, not only can they survive in practically any type of water including Rivers and Lakes, they'll eat you alive and not even leave the bones left over, they're basically like pitbulls of the sea but 100x worse, but don't let this comment section hear about this lol

I remember picking up the local newspaper the day before and reading about a tiger shark that had ripped off a guy's arm just the previous day and I thought- "great". Still went on the dive to a depth of about 45 / 50 feet. Didn't see any sharks, only beautiful green sea turtles. Haven't been on a dive since but glad I experienced it at least once.
Shark: So I was just swimming along, right? And up comes this bloke outta nowhere. Maybe he thought I was a jar of vegemite, I don’t know, but he just starts walloping on me. Last time I go near the beach.
One reason why surfing has always made me nervous to get into, was the fact that when I'm out skateboarding & snowboarding (on groomed runs at least), I won't be dealing with ANY apex predators. But when it comes to hiking, camping, kayaking, diving, surfing, it is a natural RESET BUTTON on your power as a human, and a reminder that you too are just a potential meal for a larger creature.
Spot on mate. There's a reason why we have legs and they have fins and bigger teeth. In UK I think we've only technically had one recorded shark attack in British waters and it wasn't even serious. Someone just got their finger bitten. I think it's more River fish, like pike that attack people and that's something that happens only once every so many years. I did surfing once when in Devon and even though it's an amazing experience, the constant thought of something big lurking nearby gave me anxiety, even though it was very unlikely. It's not official, but we do supposedly get great whites in Devon and Cornwall, just as you go through the channel and out into the Atlantic. Same with Greenland sharks on North Coast. I once stayed near John O' Groats with some friends and during time we was up there, on a couple of beaches, each had a washed up seal with big chunks missing. We thought it may of been a Greenland shark or possibly orcas, because we definitely do get orcas.

he said "I'm happy to never have to compete again" but he still competes. it doesn't mean he quit surfing because he values his life more. His life is surfing. it was just something he said in the heat of the moment because he was thankful to still be standing with all his limbs.
I was wading in waist high water once just in the surf. Suddenly a fin starts swimming towards me, I turn around to swim away and there is another fin behind me. I thought it was a calculated team effort by 2 sharks to get a snack. The way the fear and adrenaline just hits you is so overwhelming. The fins got closer and closer & when one was about 5 feet in front of me it came to the surface and it was a dolphin, I turn around and the other was a dolphin also.
And people saying we are on the top of food chain,..
@Samuel Fleming well as humans were are at the top food chain , however, we humans aren't fish, you get in the water, your food for the creatures living in it , common sense !!
