@@RR-bb2lk idk about serial killers but there were two separate double homicides in the apartment block across the street from my workplace on E livingston. but other than that yeah why not
hilltop is for sure a bit run down but i don't think it's that "hood." there are plenty of neighborhoods on the east side i wouldn't even feel comfortable driving thru
Have said this in previous vids about Columbus, but one of the things about the city is that a lot of the bad areas don't *look* like you'd expect slums to: they still have single-family homes in them without a ton of broken or boarded-up windows, no huge piles of trash or large swaths of abandoned buildings, etc. But the drugs, violence, shootings, and poverty are definitely there.
This is very true. I lived in this exact hood (he went by my old place) and it definitely didn't feel as safe as this video makes it look. Seeing prostitutes and drug deals all the time right out front of my duplex door was something else.
just bcuz there's no homeless everywhere don't be confused, he went when it's raining less people outside, trust me bro columbus not the most dangerous but ima tell u that shit like that IYKYK
Now you're driving through around where I used to live ~10 years ago. My place was right off 270, but The Bottoms (Franklinton) and also Hilltop are a few spots I spent most of my time. I'll be making my own video on that sometime this year. I remember Sullivant Ave. was the main connecting strut for me. Used to be a traphouse on Deshler Ave. in South Side that my ex bought junk at that got raided not long after we stopped going there lol
franklinton has actually gotten really gentrified as of late, it's almost unrecognizable from 5-10 years ago. i don't have any reason to go to hilltop so i don't know its current condition, but east of parsons ave and east 5th/cleveland ave are where all the traphouses are now (don't ask me how i know lol)
Reminds me of a bigger Steubenville tbh Except our bad areas are condensed, and it seems like columbus' bad places are more spread out. In some ways it actually looks better than my lil hood, but in others it looks my hood x2. Abandoneds in particular are common af, and a lot of em were hangouts for the base heads There were a few gangs and cliques, and some beef on the block, but all the real bad shit was concentrated in a few projects, or a few places at certain times.
I have fond memories of living in Columbus. One nice thing about it that you can see in the video is that it is very integrated. I don't think there are many cities in the US where all races live in the same neighborhoods.

This is the first time I’ve seen so many white people and black people in the same hood. Interesting, I had no idea Columbus, Ohio was like this.
