Sensitive hearing kid here! If you’re born there or spending your toddler years there, you tend to adapt and tune it out. Only thing we never got used to was gunshots because, fortunately, that wasn’t common on our street. But the music and shit? We had no choice but to learn to deal with it. Two lads from my little town in England, were shot in a "hood", like this in Florida. Nobody's sure why they were there. Some thought to buy drugs, some thought they were led there. I think anyone from our safe little town wouldn't feel comfortable around there, so out of their depth.

@@reader1236 sadly and very possibly the same. But I think for you to ponder that thought, makes you wise and you'd probably be vigilant. Unfortunately some young people, IF they did end up there of their own choice, can have a naive trust bias. I believe I did, a lot more so as a younger person.

Take one wrong turn and that's all it takes! Can be near a nice area and turn and it's another world.
That's why florida got rid of different license plates on rental cars, they'd get spotted and followed and robbed or worse.
Stay in the tourist areas and don't drive around aimlessly at night, if you find yourself in an area where you aren't comfortable don't stop at stop signs and keep your head on a swivel!

Many parts of some cities, esp where gangs are rampant like in L.A county he would be risking his life doing this slow rolling through some hoods...
Many unsuspecting people who either got lost off a highway or took wrong turns and end up in gang territory have gotten their cars lit up just because the guys on the block didn't know who was inside the vehicle...
Riding through once you might be ok, but you spin the same block a second time , you'll likely catch a few hot balls😁.
