I've been addicted to your videos recently. I'm hoping to get my cbt soon and get riding your videos have been super informative and helped alot with me making this decision.🙏
Good video spice and informative as usual. Incidentally you mentioned that brake fluid is hydroscopic but in fact the correct term is hygroscopic - literally meaning "water seeking". Hydroscopic is sometimes used to describe a material that absorbs water. It's also sometimes used as an adjective for the noun hydroscope which is a device for observing underwater objects say from a boat.
Bike looks lovely. Another great series your smashing it mate. It’s a pleasure to watch your vids, they are one of the things that have kept me going through lockdown I appreciate the work you have put into them. Cheers.
Glad to see it all come back together man great job I will have to look a getting new brake lines for my bike too and like your even though mine is a sport bike 600RR it’s a cross over line like yours for the front brakes but the rubber lines that came with the bike suck. So that a upgrade I need to do.
I'm going to correct you a little on brake fluid. Bottled brake fluid can keep longer than the fluid in a brake system as it is contained and remains contained and secure longer. Once in a braking system, then the countdown timer begins. Of course - keeping it exposed to the air and not closing the bottle quickly helps to get the most of your fluid.
I do not think that is a correction from what I said, I would still not use 2 year old fluid to save £5. I would say once you rip the foil off the bottle that is when the count down timer starts for both. Sure the stuff in the bottle is not getting used and if sealed will last longer than in the bike but not forever. If you buy 1L like you do for cars you could refill your system so many times it could last 10 years or more, that is what I am getting at.
@@spicy110 I have brake fluid older than 2 years and still use it. But I hardly ever open it. You can do a moisture check on them to be sure. You don't really need 1L for a car as basic bleeding is maybe half that. I'm just trying to avoid wasting fluids. if you keep on top of feel for brakes and change them regularly, it's not a problem.
Great looking bike. I have the exact same bike but black in color. What crash bars and windscreen have you got on? I have been hunting for a good crash bar for mine.
Just picked up a 2013 Divvy and really enjoying the bike - especially the sweet inline 4. Enjoying watching your mods/restoration videos but was wondering if you’d considered doing the 4 degree timing advance mod? Apparently it makes a huge difference but wondering if something had put you off?
I crashed on one of these back in the day. It went into a tank-slapper and my right thumb left an indent in the steel tank. The resulting crash broke my right hand and wrist in four places, oh and the thumb was dislocated as well as broken. Apart from waiting for over 30 min in A&E to have my thumb popped back in everything was eventually fine, thanks to a dexterous surgeon's handiwork with some steel cable to hold my thumb back on. A short stay in hospital. Worse bit was trying to recover the bike from the company that had picked it up and was now holding it ransom, a mate rode it home for me. Bike wasn't too bad - just a massive dent in the tank where the back of my thumb had struck. Not too bad for a lifetime's riding.
Hey spicy. When you get the chance to review bikes again could you try to get your hands on a cbr125. Would be cool to see you compare it too the gsxr125 and the LXR 125. Just a thought for when things are back to “normal” stay safe. Keep the vids coming!!!
@spicy110 can i ask where did you get the rear mudgard? It looks longer and more functional than some i have seen. might look nice on my '11 xj6n. Thank You.
Hi, wanted to ask you at what milage in km do I need to make the valve clearance. Just bought mine and it has 41k kilometers on the clock. Is valve clearance nececerry there are no noises from the engine or whatsoever.
😜 I stopped what I was watching when I saw this and had to watch it, 🙃 your vids make me wanna put my heated grips on and fit the indicators I bought,,, but I also have the small demon in my head saying I'm gonna f*ck it up 🥴 glad the Divi is done woohoo 🤘🏼
Nice musical bit at the end when all the fiddly bits of clothing went on... we should all dress to music! Well done with getting it finished - a lesson in "When the going gets tough... the tough get going." ...now that could have been the music if copyright had allowed!
Did you ever experience that xj didnt start? Mine did this month ago, when i pushed start button my start relay makes rattle sound and that was it. Lights was working also cluster but bike did not start. I had to do push start, came home put the battery to charger as i thought that battery may be discharged but charger stopped charging after five minutes with message on screen that battery is fully charged. Since then it did not happend so wondering what could cause it? Faulty start relay possibly or just bad day for my Yama? 😉
That sounds like a dead batt as you say, not doing it again is odd. My guess (from what makes sense) is something drained it. unless you have heated grips directly wired to the battery it could also be leaving the park light on, you do this by turning the key all the way off past the steering lock into "P". if not that, no clue as it makes no sense as I think you know haha I have had the bike not start that was due to a iffy multi connector plug but it would not rattle the starter solenoid like that and the whole dash went off.
@@spicy110 well..just came back from canarys, put the battery to the bike..try start and same shite again..but now i cant start it at all..month ago after driving it started again no problem but now just rattle noise from relay even right after one hour of riding 😭
Sadly that link is not working, it sounds like (from what you have said) the battery is worn out. It is possible it the stator is not putting out enough power to charge it but this time of year is THE time of year batts show their age and die.
I have exactly the same bike! And your windshield also! Where did you bought it? Cause its easier to find to the diversion F, and yours looks very good!
Strange question spicy can you restrct the xj6 to an a2 licence because I am still unsure if I want to go just for just an a2 or go for a full A and love the xj6 so why not
Yes they can be redirected for A2. However if you are able to take the Full A do not take the A2 it is the same tests on very similar bikes. There is zero point in restricing your options.
Those fiddly bolts are the worst part of working on motorcycles. It turns a theoretical 10 minute job into hours because you end up having to take everything else apart to get to it.
I have a Yamaha Fz6 basically a diversion on the XJ6 I’m sure you know what I’m talking about but my problem is I’m looking to change my headlight to an XJ6 headlight but I can’t seem to find the bracket for it, would you have any idea on how to help. Please! 😩 thanks. I can send you pics on my Instagram @yo.soy.chino

If Allen Millyard sees fit to use split link on his V8 Viper bike, I think we can safely say they are safe to use (if fitted correctly).
1000% on that last bit, I am sure that is where all the issues come from.
