Having owned the G9 now for a few years I don’t think I’ll have another one on my rig. The ultra wide looks cool at first, but the aspect ratio required to see the dash makes everything either distorted and fish eye at the left/right edges or you have a narrow vertical field of view. If you have the money and are running PC, I highly recommend VR or a large monitor/gaming tv.
@@57uyo Samsung 49" Ultra wide curved monitor -CRG9 120 FPS (two) 27" curved monitors-CHG7 144 FPS but set @ 120 FPS to match the Ultra-wide FPS These monitors are the older Gen, the newer odyssey G9 and G7's are going in with the higher refresh rate of 144Hz
@@lifeofasimrigmestizo6910 presumed somehow that much ;) Wonder how much difference you will see at 144Hz. My side 15s are 144 but the cheap chinese dp-hdmi convertors cannot handle it so I am stuck at 120. Either way 3070 is to weak so i barely make 80 overall…
Triples is always best. I went after G9 for simplicity - single monitor, I have also limited space and motion on rig. Also work when home office from the rig and the G9 is quite comfortable for that. Having said that I missed my mismatched triple setup so added two 15.6” vertical monitors to the G9 so again have something like compact triple setup - works great!
@@rusty4104 general consent in the sim community is that switching from triples to G9 is downgrade. I like mine so I am sticking with it but definitely the two side monitors are great addition and is much better now. If you do not have solid reason to go G9 it does not make much sense I guess…
I was considering it but managed to squeeze in my tight space 3x32” Asus TUFs and am pretty happy with them. Pricewise they were cheaper then half if the G9 57”, picture quality is quite decent as well and immersion is very good even when I placed them behind wheelbase (to clear the motion platform).

I have triples 27” and race with it for like 3 years but from day 1 I could’t resist the bezels and even with the Asus bezel free kit I didn’t like it but 49” ultrawide I found too little and so I recent discovered the 57” ultrawide Samsung and saw vids of a simracer and said: this is it. You lose the right window and mirror yes but the real true bezelfree experience wins for me. Offcourse all the other things like 240Hz, 4K, HDR & picture quality, easy on the eyes etc.. all are welcome. It’s now priced 2080 Euros plus they give 200 Euros back for your old monitor which I have and gonna give so I will be paying 1880 Euros. It was 2500 Euros in the beginning, that was too much for me but now 1880 Euros is somehow “acceptable” still damn expensive but it is was it is, we simracers are crazy peoples 😅👍

Spend like 2 months thinking exactly the same as you and deciding between the 57 and current triples. At then end price made me jump on it and also wanted to try how immersive it would be. As now I play more in VR as WRC finally has it again am little sad I didn’t go for the 57 because of the simplicity and my limited space home, but really triple is way more immersive…

@Brillo2500 no it's been out for like 2 years... the neo g9 just came out. It's 4k 240hz, but not OLED like the first g9

What about the Samung 57” ultrawide ? This is 49” no ?
