"Flags" are a game design term used to refer to individual bits (1/8th of a byte) that are set depending on various factors. The most common use is for story flags, where the game checks "have you seen or done this particular thing?" and changes the world state based on that.
Put in non-computer-speak, a Flag is basically a marker saying “you’ve done this thing” - kinda like an actual flag. If the Flag is up, the game will act different than if it’s down. For a metaphorical example, a pirate crew takes over an island, so they raise a flag to show that they’ve done so. Now if someone else checks the island, they’ll see that the pirates have taken it and stay away. For an in-game example, the player reaches research level 1. This raises the flag for ‘research level 1 obtained’, so now the person guarding the bridge can look at the flag, see that it’s raised, and let you through to the next area instead of blocking you off.

When it comes to how to pronounce Arceus, there are three official pronunciations I can think of. There's the one used in the video ("ar-see-us"), which is how its name was pronounced in Pokemon Battle Revolution (Gen 4's 3D model battle simulator). When the time came for Arceus to get its own movie, the dubbers (at least) realized that it sounds like "arse", so they changed it. The one in the final version of the movie (which is how I was introduced to its pronunciation) is "ar-key-us". In trailers for the movie (but *not* the final version), its name was pronounced "ar-kay-us".

13:23 RT really did find a speedrun strat XD
the reason random pokemon show up when fighting diamond and pearl members is because they are against pokeballs so their pokemon follow them instead
In trailers for the movie (but *not* the final version), its name was pronounced "ar-kay-us".
technically the story doesnt end until you get arceus
Congratulations for this speedrun! I'm surprised to see a speedrun on this game since it's different from any other game.
Wanna know why pronouncing Arceus' name like Ar-see-us is wrong?
Because if you pronounced it like that your phone would be called an "Arse Phone"
I see nothing wrong with that.
@@MizterTonik Its wrong it should be pronounced Arkeus or Arkoos
Idc- Arkeyus sounds dumb I like Arceus
For those who don't know the word arse is literally am old way to say the a-word.
That's more common knowledge than you think. My opinion remains unchanged lol
the first time i played this game i somehow guessed the first 2 steel-ice-rock puzzle things correctly and it took me like 10 minutes to figure out the third one
Hey congrats on memorizing... ALL OF THIS for our entertainment. Want to do it for uranium? I can give you a link that does work if you want but if you're done with Pokémon for a while that's cool, thanks for the entertainment :D
Wait a minuteee i saw this exact same comment from another user
Edit: Looks like ur comment got copied by a bot and got more likes. F
@@deathrobloxian Really? Fuck where? That sucks lmao did it get a heart? Edit: I have found it It didn't get a heart but uh wowie that hurts
It's not often I see a speedrun of a game I'm currently playing, so that's neat.
Mistake made throughout the video: Easy calls the Obsidian Fieldlands “Fireland” five times, Shinx as “Sphinx” two times, and says his rival’s Pikachu is lv 10 but it’s actually at lv9.
Never thought I'd see a game I could speed run very well.
Pokemon go has prepared me for this day
