    Very nice run by UC, it feels nice to see the Elite Four rematch done by TAS. I remember not knowing about it when I was younger and going in with the same team that I had used for the first encounter. My reaction when I end up seeing Heracross, Misdreavus, and Piloswine was just utter confusion. I'm pretty sure after that I found out about Johto Pokémon appearing throughout the game..

    I knew it. The strategy of just focusing on one pokemon is always the best.

      Playing the game with just one 'mon takes the difficulty from "medium-hard" to "breezin' through".
      Well… provided the player fights every opponent available, I mean. Skipping fights, of course, still leads to low levels and challenging fights. (;

      @@gregoryford2532 yeah, the rng manipulation kinda hides the various ways the AI is set up to make this sort of run require a lot of grinding if you really want to eschew all strategy and only use one poke.

    holy shit, i never even thought about how broken metronome would be in a tas. there's so much rng manipulation that you could always get the ideal move, or just the nearest move that kills in 1 hit

    I like how this game uses more varied instruments in its songs compared to RSE. I love that trumpet more then anyone on this realm of existence, but seeing the team use the hardware is also great. Oh, and nice TAS. The RNG must've been a pain in the ass

    RNG manipulation in this is just crazy, like really crazy.
    They must be buffering so many inputs non-stop throughout the entire TAS.

    • @TiKevin83
      @TiKevin83 3 роки тому +29

      buffering inputs doesn't guarantee good RNG, it just refers to when you can hold a button and it will apply on some later frame consistently. Gen 3 doesn't have that, the inputs for the most part are unbufferable; the RNG is manipulated via precisely crafted delays

    I always find it weird that the store clerk in Viridian, when you first walk into the shop, yells “hey are you from Pallet Town”? Like what would make them think that? Also with other people going in and out of the store, would they have also yelled at them and ask if they were from Pallet Town as well? Just seems out of the ordinary for a clerk to yell that at random patrons entering the store…

    • @UnopenedClosure

      Yes, you do have to actually go to the menu to use Cut there. Otherwise, if you had your cutter on you, you could unintentionally solve the puzzle just by checking to see what the puzzle is.

    When I saw Chansey, I expected it to be holding a Lucky Egg as well. Would getting that actually help? I noticed you equipped the Quick Claw after the Safari Zone instead.
    Edit: Actually, I guess you can just manipulate crits to one shot everything, anyway.

    • @UnopenedClosure

      Lucky Egg was considered, but the extra EXP doesn’t provide enough benefit.
      By that stage in the run, the game is catching up with Clefable power-wise, and you need the Quick Claw to outspeed things
