- This is a muzzle brakes test using a 300 Weatherby 24" barrel with 208 Amax bullets. I tested several brakes including my new Beast brake and a APA little Bastard. I also included the velocity of each round.
Lot of work put into that test. Very informative. Thanks.
This is by far the best demo on muzzle brakes and their effect on recoil.
As per your testing the A65 4 port brake performed the best. I have been searching the net to try to locate one of these brakes for my .300 Weatherby but as of today I have been unsuccessful. Would you be so kind as to direct me to a supplier. Thx in advance for your help.
Again great video.
where can i buy one of the muzzlebreaks that performed the best?
I too am interested in the A65 4 port brake, where can I find one. Got a composite stock on my 300 and it kicks like a mule! Thx! Great vid
Just now saw this. Did you ever test with 3000 + fps ammo?
I haven't tried anything faster with that rifle. It's only a 24" barrel and I didn't spend a bunch of time developing a load.
I need one bad for my 300 Weatherby
Shoot me a email. nlw358@aol.com
I don’t believe any quality 300wby ammo comes out at only 2600fps. I’m curious how these brakes would work with 3400fps rounds from weatherby in it
@@davidking6663 It was a load I threw together to test from a Quickload prediction and it was super mild. I'm pretty sure I said that in the video. The test barrel is only 24" instead of the normal 26". The only bullets a 300 Weatherby will shoot 3400 is 150ish grains. 150gr bullets at 3400fps with 90+grs of powder has the same recoil energy as a 208gr bullet with 80grs of powder at 2800fps. Believe it or not a brake will reduce a higher percentage of felt recoil with more powder so it will actually work better with light bullets and more powder.
@@muzzlebrakesandmore3492 you’re right I overshot it. About 3200fps is more realistic.
