@@raleighthomas3079 I also found one used on gunbroker, German made with scope and a case. I Also have a Weatherby Lazerby mark V 300 wyby on layaway. two more months.
Looks like you got yourself fine shooting combo! Congrats! When you got a good grip that fits your hand, pillar bedding, and a high quality trigger, all that adds up to flinging some nice tight groups. A nice rifle and scope combo is essential, obviously, but those extra bells and whistles gives you the edge on accuracy. Those TRIGGERTECH triggers are definitely worth the price, I like them a lot.
Very nice setup! Excellent shooting! Phenomenal groups at 200 yards and 100 yards! Very impressed with the Normal ammo also! They seem to have there loads dialed in!🇺🇲✝️🇺🇲
I shot some Norma Evo strike last week and the groups were the best I've ever had. I like to try a lot of different stuff and compare the results like you do. It worked great in several rifles too. It’s my new favorite ammo brand for sure.
Great video, awesome rifle! I have a Mark V Deluxe in .300 Wby., great wood, free floated, epoxy bedded, 3.5 lb trigger, perfect stock fit and Decellerator pad. Leupold 30mm 3x9 VXR scope. Sub. 1” groups all day with Federal Premium and anything Weatherby brand. Weatherby ammo is loaded by Norma, hot premium stuff. The standard basic cheap round is that Norma Softpoint you used, the 180 gr. groups 3/4” in my .300. Same with Barnes TTSX in the Select grade. More people should give Norma ammo a try, great stuff for reasonable $$.
On top of that, if those lead tips get deformed at all, it could cause bigger groups. Goes to show the quality of that Norma for the price, and the quality of that Weatherby.
I haven’t gotten phenomenal accuracy out of the Norma Whitetail ammo…definitely acceptable for hunting ammo but it’s what one would expect for lead nose stuff. For a similar price I’ve been really happy with the Sig Sauer hunting ammo…very accurate stuff
Nice shooting. Most brand new barrels need a few shots to smooth out machining roughness. My 300 Wby groups started shrinking down markedly after about 40 rounds. Congratulations. Wonderful rifle!
I only own one Weatherby gun. It's a regular Mark V with a stainless steel fluted barrel chambered in 300 Weatherby mag. I won it years ago from a raffle and I've never shot it, but I'm planning on getting a scope put on it this spring to take it bear hunting next fall
Be prepared for significant recoil. It's called "Evil Roy" for good reason. Put a break on it. It is a lightning round though if you need to reach out and touch something.
I bought a WeatherBug vanguard accuguatd in 300 win mag , fluted barrel , spider webbed Monte Carlo stock and out of all my rifles it's my favorite. The 300 win mag , depending on what you're shooting at , can do more damage then a 45-70 , I've seen it myself.
That is a home run by Weatherby. Normally I'm not a fan of their products but this one has everything I'd be looking for. Thanks for sharing, great video!
I have a Weatherby Vanguard2 in 7mm rem mag. It's the only gun I own that I didn't have to set the trigger. Right out of the box it broke clean and light. 4 shots and it was hitting dead center. It shoots under an inch with cheap blue box federal soft points. Took my deer with it this year with a perfect double lung shot.
My RugerM77 loves federal blue box ammo too! I can get three shots in my thumbnail. Funny thing is it doesn't like the more expensive ammo like Hornady.
Weatherby for the win!! Love their quality even their cheaper models have amazing accuracy! Always great seeing WTW slang bullets down range in a beautiful Weatherby.
I know it's harder to do know, but if you can find different ammo .you will find one that your riffle really likes and is consistent with. And getting all the bugs out of a new gun. Keep on shooting.
Weatherby rifles and NORMA ammo…two precision names that just sound right together…deer killing duo right there my friend…I used NORMA ammo way back in the day when they produced the ONLY game ammunition for many of the European calibers (locally for my 7X57 Mauser and 6.5 Carcano to be specific…not much offered by the US manufacturers for these loadings [among others].)…your content is both informative and entertaining…but you expect that from Tennessee folks (even us expatriate Georgia boys 😂)…keep up the videos 👍👍👍
Hey Who Tee! I promised to update you when I got my Hunter in 7MM Weatherby. Broke it in cleaning after every second shot up to about 10 rounds and managed a three shot inch group at 100 yards with Weatherby 154 grain ammo. The silver box not the gold one. The stock looks like it’s touching on the left side of barrel but I can get paper in there. Others have mentioned this as well. Will leave it alone since it’s shooting one inch.
great shooting WTW...really nice rifle....haven't tried the 6.5 yet but i have to say it looks pretty dang good...those 200 yd. groups are awesome...and with a new rifle first shots....can't complain bout that at all
I'm glad you experienced the trigger squeezed for I to own a weatherby mark v chambered in a 270 mag. Congratulations on owning another fine quality hunting rifle. Nice video, now, where can I get the same rifle set up from.
Awesome rifle! For looks, I drool over a nice wood stock. However, when lugging it through the woods, I always fear that I will scratch it up. The polymer stock almost always comes out looking like it did when it went in. Weatherbys are awesome no matter which flavor.

That’s a awesome gun!! Once she’s broke in it’ll be a tack driver.. Just purchased a weathrby vanguard about 2 months ago for my wife it’s such a awesome gun also 6.5 creedmor… some better ammo probably help a lot.. great upload as usual
Hand loads really made a difference with my Remington .222. Just a cheapo Savage from 1967 and a fiberglass bed with hand loads let me put many bullets in the same hole. If you ever get the chance I recommend you try them. I really enjoy your fun videos.
I really enjoyed this video! I bet with a little more barrel break in, that rifle will be shooting really good groups. I'm excited for when you get a 257 WBY.
Marlin is developing for Hornady ammo and I believe Weatherby is doing the same for Norma. I have a weatherby SA-08 and love it-and it's made by the turkish factory, I imagine their first world factory is churning out some fine rifles.
Just love Weatherby Rifles. Right with you on that one..me .257 although my mind is thinking again uh oh! maybe a different weatherby caliber? any thoughts? 27 28? less of a barrel burner? Thanks, keep on keepin on....
Nothing like a Weatherby but they are very picky. Mine is the 257 Weatherby Magnum and it'll let me know really quick if it likes certain ammo. Looks like you're finding what yours likes already, but it will get better for sure. Very impressed with yours is doing. I really enjoy your vids and I'm learning some new tricks from your boolet drop vids too so keep on flingin.
I like the stamp on the left side of the receiver, Sheridan, Wyoming Weatherby wised up and got their headquarters out out of California. Is Sheridan where where their new Mark V rifles are machined and assembled?
Great triggers make all the difference in accuracy. FYI there is a company called MCarbo that makes replacement trigger springs for many, many rifles that lower the trigger pull dramatically and thus improve accuracy. I have them in my Winchester Model 70, Ruger American and my Browning X Bolt. They are $20 max and turn your guns into tack drivers. And you have a lot of guns. Well worth the investment and the install is easy. And nice shooting bud.
You can source the same trigger springs from a small company called oldbeavergunsmith that reduces trigger pull on a wide variety of rifles. I’ve installed them on all of our Ruger Americans. 3 total. The installation process is very straightforward, after fumbling a bit on the first one (20 min ) the next two only took around 10 min. ( it’s very easy). Since the Ruger’s trigger is adjustable you can set it between 1.5 and 2.5 lbs I set ours at 2 which is plenty light enough for my purposes. The previous low adjustment I was able to get was about 3.5 at best. The trigger springs are $9 on eBay with free shipping. Search- Ruger American Rifle Reduced Power Spring 1.5 lb $8.99.
Actually Norma ammo is good stuff. In fact Norma manufactures Weatherby's brand of ammunition for their proprietary magnums. On another note I have a newly manufactured Winchester model 70 with the MOA trigger. In my opinion that's a sweet trigger. I didn't even replace it or adjust it right out of the box just under 3lbs.
Have you got any Reckless with GRS stock my green gun is the hybrid GRS Stock chambered in 6.5 300 Weatherby KCR 28-inch barrel with a muzzle brake . I think that would be a perfect Rifle
I have Triggertech triggers I several Remington 700/clones and it is one the nicest triggers that I have ever owned! On another note that was some impressive shooting, especially for a thinner tapered barrel!
Just pick one up in 280 Ackley improved factory ammo is hard to find so I got some brass and started load development having feed problems inserted one round in the magazine it just pop's it out inserted 3 rounds in the magazine loaded the first round second round drives into the magazine won't pop up called weatherby they suggested I get some quality factory ammo and try it again what are your thoughts
Just curious here. I've been sighting my deer rifles in high 1.5-2.0 inches high at 100yds for years.....lets you pretty much hold dead on out to 300yds. (270 win, 7mm mag, 300 win mag, 300 wby mag)
WTW, I went to our local Academy store yesterday and they have finally gotten in a ton of ammo. I picked up a 500 round box of Winchester 556, and a couple of boxes of Norma MHP .45acp Self-Defense. You should do a clay block comparison of the Norma MHP .45, and some other self-defense .45acp.
Great video as always... You mentioned a few videos ago you were gonna get the perfect deer rifle when your wife would let you, is this it or what is your perfect deer rifle.
I'm sure it even shoots better now the barrel is broken in even though that last group was really good considering everything with a brand new barrels and inexpensive ammo
How’s the stock on these WTW? I was surprised the description said polymer stock…just by looking at it I thought it was going to be fiberglass or something…like a HS Precision or Bell & Carlson or something
I only shot a 257 Weatherby mag and a 240 Mag. The 257 shot about moa with factory ammo. The 240 was my hand loads 5 shot you could cover with a penny. Only complaint is weird safety.
Alrighty now I do believe you may be able to shoot wings off a fly at 200 yds... you and ol Jed Clampett can find some Texas gold. That was impressive shooting, good job and a good looking rifle too.
Great review! Could you please do closeups of the bolt - extractor, bolt shroud, safety & ejector, plus muzzle, floorplate, butt-pad & the stock. Does the bolt-knob unscrew? The forend looks shorter & handier than many rifles these days. This is a plus in my books! If you ever take off the scope can you weigh the rifle bare.
Love weatherby. My first rifle was a weatherby stainless Alaskan in 300weatherby mag. I sold it to buy a desert eagle. I wish i would have kept it. I got a weatherby vanguard HUSH 300weatherby mag now
I have a Weatherby rifle and love it. I am looking to purchase a new rifle as well. How would you compare this to the Sako S20 hunter you reviewed as well?
On your first 200 yard attempt, someone fired just before you did and I think it might have messed with your trigger squeeze. Anyway, Weatherby makes awesome rifles, and you make good videos. Thanks for the review.
the barrel hasn't even been broken in yet. then test for accuracy. nice gun wouldn't mind having one myself in 30-06. I like the shilon triggers and timmney.
Sure is a fine looking and shooting setup, glad that hunting rifles come with stocks that aren’t shiny. I’d like to have a high end rifle, but most of the ones I’ve got shoot as good as the shooter can hold. Good shooting and gods speed to the WTW HUNTING CREW AND FANS. 👍🇺🇸
Applaud you on making the choice of purchasing quality mark V weatherby. They have always exceeded my expectations every time I’ve purchased one and have owned and still do own several markV’s. Only thing that’s disappointing about this is your caliber selection. With all the great calibers that weatherby offers you decide on the very unimpressive and boring 6.5 needmoore? That’s the only real bummer. Had to quite watching after I learned that’s what it was chambered in. But congrats on your first mark V anyway.
I notice you didn’t do any kind of break-in sequence… shoot, clean, shoot, clean…. What is Weatherby’s new firearm recommendation? I wonder if results would have been different with a break-in sequence first… I personally have never bothered with it… just curious, I guess :) I love my .300 Wby!
1.25Inch group at 200yards with that leadnose hunting ammo is absolutly Impressive... Good job wtw❤👍 Now just Do the same test with some precision Ammo that would be awsome wtw.
I love your videos but a lot of the scopes you use are not anything I've heard of? Can you start giving affordability of some of the optics you use? Thanks
On our American Legion Shooting Team, we tell the kids to dry fire a few times when they first sit down at the shooting bench. Your 3.25” grouping was because your mind wasn’t tuned into your technique, but instead on your body recovering from the target setup at 200 yds. After you shot your first group, you settled down and was able to drive tacks with your technique. You’re a great technician and marksman, so don’t apologize for an errant round. What’s the fluted bolt for besides it looks cool and is a nightmare to clean? Have you considered demonstrating gun smithing and basic tear down for cleaning videos? And now I have a burning desire for a Creedmore 6.5. I’ll have to whine to the wife that I must have a new toy. Great video! Thanks for your work. Merry Christmas.
There was a time when I longed for a high end Weatherby rifle. This one looks like it has great potential to be a fabulous hunting rifle.

Xpr is a good trigger but this is better
On your first 200 yard attempt, someone fired just before you did and I think it might have messed with your trigger squeeze. Anyway, Weatherby makes awesome rifles, and you make good videos. Thanks for the review.
Probably right. Appreciate you watching
I want to know the trigger pull?
the barrel hasn't even been broken in yet. then test for accuracy. nice gun wouldn't mind having one myself in 30-06.
Not mine. Borrowed
I do not break em in
1.25Inch group at 200yards with that leadnose hunting ammo is absolutly Impressive... Good job wtw❤👍 Now just Do the same test with some precision Ammo that would be awsome wtw.
Another beautiful rifle. 👍😎🙏
I love your videos but a lot of the scopes you use are not anything I've heard of? Can you start giving affordability of some of the optics you use? Thanks
Very nice.. Thank you for the review.👍
Is the barrel floated or does it have the pressure point like the vanguard's? I couldn't find any info on the website. I'm considering one in 25-06.
Nothing better than a good trigger. My Savage 300 Win Mag has the trigger set at 1.2 lbs. Talk about getting some tight groups.
What was the actual poundage on the trigger pull? Thanks for another nice video!
Just ordered one in 300 Weatherby magnum.
What's the price on one of them?
what is the weight of the rifle without scope? i owned a Mark 5 in 240 wm was very accurate but heavy. i see they lightened thebolt with fluting
What is the cost of the rifle I'm not sure if I missed it
@WHO_TEE_WHO what rifle would you recommend between this Mark V or the Sako S20? I'm looking at for a 30-06 in this price range.
That is tough. You'd be great with either pick. I'd probably lean towards sako
Very nice shooting very accurate
oops on my last message I did not mean 27 28 for weatherby caliber but the 270 WM instead
Thanks for posting I'm thinking of getting one.
