It’s true. They may have a few women’s watches but no mens. Of course If you pull out $200k and are looking to buy 3, they’ll magically have some in the back (as long as you have purchased previously - kinda like buying Ferrari’s) and they aren’t expecting you to sell it onto the grey market.) They will also make you buy a women’s watch or two as part of the package. They sell far fewer of these. The problem Rn is grey market prices are insane. You can flip a Rolex for 2-3x the tag price instantly.

@@VioletJoy low paid employees often won't go the extra mile for customers though because they don't get paid enough to care or because the boss wants them to do more productive work than customer service .
@@dragomilosevic4823 If an employee only cares about customer service based on their paycheck, then that is a reflection of their work ethic. Conversely, there is no amount of money that makes someone good at customer service. Training is a different thing. If you think simply giving someone more money causes them to somehow have good customer service, then I'm really confused. All you have to do is go to any retail establishment and see that that isn't the case. @@VioletJoy well maybe a bigger pay rate wouldn't make you work harder but it would for me.. Often a company that pays more for wages puts more money toward training the staff anyway. Ive never been to in N out burger because they don't exist outside 5 states in the US.
Salesman can see money when you have it "telling me you think one of the most iconic brands is cheap" would also tell me you're broke. I applaud him for also being a wise salesman with good judgment and a good heart.
The salesman was trying to build the value still. He was being honest and not really using tactics to close the sale, but by saying “I consider it a expensive watch” would subconsciously tell the prospect “ maybe this is an expensive watch” so if all the prospect wants is a watch they feel is expensive, then they will want to buy that one.
He's honest when he says most people can't afford that watch, hes reffering to himself. Under capitalism the salesman can't even afford that watch. He sells hundreds of watches a month and probably brings the shop hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue and yet he can't afford to buy a single watch from that shop. What a twisted system we live in.
the fact that someone sells a product doesn't mean they should get the revenue if they don't own it. if you gave me your car to sell, if i sell it i shouldn't get all the money
@@maxwellianman you misread the point of my comment. I’m not implying he should get the revenue from selling the watch, but at the very least a man should get a wage befitting of someone who could at least afford to buy the very watches he sells..
@@chubbyninja975 alright so you want the salesman to be able to buy a 50,000 dollar watch. If he is willing to spend 10% of his yearly salary then they would have to pay him 500,000 dollars every year in order for him to be able to afford it. If we apply this same rule to everyone who works in the company and helped make/sell the watches, that company would go under very fast. Also he is definitely not selling hundreds of watches per month, maybe 100-150 on a very good month. It is simply not economical for a company that makes luxury items to pay its employees to be able to buy those luxury items.
"No sir, we never have sales." 😂 That's crazy actually. I respect that, because most places will raise the price and then drop it to make it a "sale" to attract more people. Everyone loves a sale and to think they're getting something cheaper than others.
Usually in the watch world people negotiate a better price. It’s pretty common to get a little discount but since the pandemic and shortages Rolex don’t even have any stock so you pay list price or don’t get the watch.
My son has a best friend and for their graduation, he told me he wanted to get his friend a Rolex, not having any idea how expensive they are. Rather than take him into one of these stores and embarrass him for wanting to do something special, I just explained it to him how much they cost, and he was shocked. "He's my friend, but we're not THAT close!" That was more than ten years ago and we still laugh about it.
It's not the biggest mistake to make. In the late 90s early 2000s they actually were much more affordable. They started to indulge in a practise known as "throttlling", similar to what DeBeers does with diamonds. Either way it's not worth it, especially since a high end g shock will be considerably tougher, more accurate, and casio will service it for the life of the product, whereas rolex will stop doing that after 30 years.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen a Rolex store that actually has watches. Most have empty cases and a years long wait list to even get a watch.
Where tf u live lmao i have never seen a rolex store wittho watches
Wtf?
@@thesolidsnek8096 iv never seen a Rolex store haha
It’s true. They may have a few women’s watches but no mens. Of course If you pull out $200k and are looking to buy 3, they’ll magically have some in the back (as long as you have purchased previously - kinda like buying Ferrari’s) and they aren’t expecting you to sell it onto the grey market.)
They will also make you buy a women’s watch or two as part of the package. They sell far fewer of these.
The problem Rn is grey market prices are insane. You can flip a Rolex for 2-3x the tag price instantly.

You work for 40yrs to have $1m in your retirement, meanwhile some people are putting just $10k in a meme coin for just few months and now they are multimillionaires. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life
Starting early is the best way of getting ahead to build wealth, investing remains a priority.
@Heather kay You are correct. Save. Invest and spend for necessities and a few small luxuries relatives to total assets ratio
I urge everyone to start somewhere now no matter how small, this is literally the time for that, forget material things, don't get tempted, I became more better the moment I realized this.

The way he was extremely humble throughout the whole time, even though he worked for a really expensive company. Respect!
Wouldn't you be more nice if you probably got paid really well to sell a couple watches a day?
@@dragomilosevic4823 That's not how it works. Snotty people are snotty people no matter what. He wasn't pretending.
We've all had outstanding customer service at In-N-Out and terrible customer service at a fancy restaurant at different times in our lives.
@@VioletJoy well maybe a bigger pay rate wouldn't make you work harder but it would for me.. Often a company that pays more for wages puts more money toward training the staff anyway. Ive never been to in N out burger because they don't exist outside 5 states in the US.

The salesman was trying to build the value still. He was being honest and not really using tactics to close the sale, but by saying “I consider it a expensive watch” would subconsciously tell the prospect “ maybe this is an expensive watch” so if all the prospect wants is a watch they feel is expensive, then they will want to buy that one.

the salesman cursing him in the back of his mind😭
@@almgaming186 the watch is retailed for $50,000. That doesn’t mean it’s worth $50,000. It probably cost them a few grand to manufacture it.

"No sir, we never have sales." 😂 That's crazy actually. I respect that, because most places will raise the price and then drop it to make it a "sale" to attract more people. Everyone loves a sale and to think they're getting something cheaper than others.
Thats not how rolexes work u buy them if ur a collector or if youre rich they come to the store themself, the store doesnt have to attract people
Usually in the watch world people negotiate a better price. It’s pretty common to get a little discount but since the pandemic and shortages Rolex don’t even have any stock so you pay list price or don’t get the watch.
The store can’t even sell these watches. He’s holding “dummies”. To get a Rolex nowadays you need to be on a waiting list for months

My son has a best friend and for their graduation, he told me he wanted to get his friend a Rolex, not having any idea how expensive they are.
Rather than take him into one of these stores and embarrass him for wanting to do something special, I just explained it to him how much they cost, and he was shocked.
"He's my friend, but we're not THAT close!"
That was more than ten years ago and we still laugh about it.
@@TwistyThreeFifty Really? I did not know that. I'll have to add this to my list of things to research. I just assumed they were always that expensive.
