- In this video my friend Sharon and I discuss her absence from iTalki, our mini-weekend together, and her plans moving forward. We also discussed her time here in the United States for the past 2 years. As you all know, Sharon has become a very good friend of mine over the years and she started out as my first Spanish tutor. It is crazy to see how our friendship has developed from that point and I think we will continue it moving forward. This is a prime example of the power that learning a language can have on your life. New connections are priceless. I hope you all enjoy the video!

En este video, mi amiga Sharon y yo hablamos sobre su ausencia de iTalki, nuestro mini fin de semana juntos y sus planes para el futuro. También hablamos de su estancia aquí en los Estados Unidos durante los últimos 2 años. Como todos saben, Sharon se ha convertido en una muy buena amiga mía a lo largo de los años y comenzó como mi primera tutora de español. Es una locura ver cómo se ha desarrollado nuestra amistad desde ese momento y creo que continuaremos así en el futuro. A lot of youtubers talk about speaking multiple languages and what not but its good to finally see someone holding a real conversation in the target language. This was impressive. Just earned a new sub.

La famosa nos ha vuelto! I definitely will start the meetups again, I’ve just had a lot of life things going on that literally leave me with no time to do them right now. I hope to be able to start back with those and to begin offering Spanish classes within the next few months, hopefully 🙏🏾

Just curious, was Sharon living in the USA when she started teaching you then moved over? Where is she from? I think that is great that you and your teacher are friends!
No she was living in Colombia and had been her whole life. She came to the states 2 years ago for a master’s degree program now she’s headed back home to Colombia 🇨🇴

Italki, Language Exchange Apps, Traveling, Opening Your Mouth and speaking with native speakers in your neighborhood. You'd be shocked at how many friendships you can make combining these things. Go to same events, even general events in your city and strike up conversations with people that speak Spanish. Again, you'd be shocked.

Seeing you drive with the cellphone in your hand was scary. It is illegal to drive with an electronic device in your hand my state. I recommend taking that 6 hour online drivers safety course. It is excellent and you get a discount on your car insurance. If I drive I never touch the phone. I only want you to stay safe.
You are absolutely right. The night before, my cell phone holder broke so to avoid looking down at my phone in the cupholder for the GPS I held it a little higher to be able to see the route to the airport. My new cell phone holder came from Amazon today so I don't ever hold my phone and will not moving forward. I just didn't want to miss any turns or exits. Also, not an excuse at all, but this was 6:15am in the morning and most of the roads were completely empty at this time on a Saturday morning. Not an excuse at all. You are absolutely correct.
