George lovely work as always could you extend your gear change for the Meteor to make it a heel toe shift? Some of us quite like the heel toe, but prefer your engineering!
I received my new lever today and fitted without too many issues. One small bit of feedback: I had to turn off about 2mm from the back of stepped nut as it was touching the engine casing. This is due I think to the variation in tolerances of the fabricated frame. Not a problem for me as I have a lathe but may be more problematic for others. That said fabulous product and streets ahead of OE assembly. Thoroughly recommend. Thanks George
A lathe, lucky you Raymond. I am currently striving to find a way to fit the lever assy, whilst allowing it to pivot. I've followed the TEC instructions but I fear the stepped nut principle needs refining as I cannot see how the unit,as supplied can be made to function (unless,of course you have a lathe)
@@travellingbilly.4032 sorry to hear you are having difficulties fitting the unit. Does the lever jam when you you tighten the screw? I found it won’t go past about 9 o’clock in anti clockwise direction but this isn’t a problem as it needs to be at at approx 10 o’clock (for me anyway) to get my boot under.
@@raymondjackson7982 I'm unsure why the nut has to be so deep, but I've fired off an email to TEC,hoping for a modified stepped nut.Failing that I'll have to get working on my fettling skills.
Already got my Meteor gear lever on order, fantastic development. I like the clutch mec cover and will be ordering one. Can’t wait for the dev on the exhausts. British engineering at it’s best!
I have my heart set on the new Scram and intend to add your accesories to the bike. I also think a new exhaust system is in order to "add lightness" as Chapman said. The cam would be icing on. the cake!!
Lovely work on the leaver. I'd love a straight heel toe replacement but just better engineered. I like the heel toe it's just a cheap fitting though. I'm definitely up for the cover. My tail tidy is great, as are my adjustable levers. Love the quality, the finish and the thought that goes in to these parts.
Hi there, can you tell me if you do a decat version for the 350 meteor exhaust please, as I’m making up a list of goodies for my bike? Many thanks in advance 👍
I just received the gear pedal conversion for my meteor. Not fitted it yet but it looks good. However I wonder why the joint pivots are both right handed on the connecting rod, It would have been much better if they was right and the other left handed so that the adjustment could be made simply by turning the link rod after undoing the locknuts. As it is they will have to be disconnected in order to make the adjustment otherwise turning the link rod will have no effect as one will tighten while the other loosens. other than that it's a well made and designed conversion.
It’s so easy it wasn’t an issue, I just placed my boot on the peg with fitted extension as size 11, adjusted angle to allow easy foot operation tightened everything up touch of lock tight,Tested it perfect on the road and custom fit to me. Initial linkage setting around 11pm as per instructions.
george I really got a lot of help from your videos and purchased a number of mods from Tec. I cant find the seat and rack conversion on that Royal Interceptor you have on video.
What happened to the Interceptor Scrambler, did you finish the project. I saw each part up to number 4, have I missed the rest of them or has something happened to abandon the project. It looked awesome by the way, very desirable. Waiting with anticipation!
see hitchcoch have a new camshaft for the J series engine available from march .. I guess you are the ones that developed it :-) ,, have you published any dyno runs on this new camshaft.. It seems like the perfect upgrade for the J sereis bikes.. Just like the one you did for the 411cc engine.. always though that 24.3hp out of a 411cc engine was just shy of what it should be able to to
I have a Supernova with the back rest which Im not so fussed on, however the bike looks naked with nothing on the back. What about designing a nice chrome or stainless grab rail for the Meteor..
Hell of an improvement ..But why have you run the linkage straight across the timing case rather than underneath? Admittedly the standard shifter set up from Enfield is shocking.. Bits of bent rod without any bushes all wobbling about.. Why did they do that on such a quality little bike..👍
Really great work, gonna get the gear lever and tail tidy kits Have you thought of a full forward controls(pegs/lever) kit for the meteor, as the standard one is more of a mid forward setup... not sure if that is really viable and would be well received by the meteor crowd, but i would really like it
I have a new meteor just a 100 miles the most hard work gear change I ever used the heal is just too low The bike has the deluxe foot pegs I cannot get my toe under the front so gear changes are a nightmare , together with the foreword position of the pegs totally unnatural to me I am 67 and just can’t be arsed need things standard so I can enjoy a good gearbox and relax I have ordered your conversion today Many thanks I am sure I am not in the minority
Great video, all the things I didn't like about the Meteor you have solved especially the gear changer what a good job you have made there, I am a bit worried about your comments with regard to Euro 5 and the engine management light coming on which puts the bike into lip mode? would this be covered by the warranty? is this still a problem as I want to order the new Supernova in the Red colour. hope you can reply soon as I still have time to cancel my order. Thanking you in advance.
Really like what you do with the Enfields. Do you do anything for the Classic 350 gear change as even with a size 7 boot i found the lever too short. Others on the test ride found the same thing.
I am very much interested in having the controls moved forward to actually be real forward controls for the Meteor. Will that be possible maybe in the future? I've been searching for someone to do that ever since I purchased the Meteor for a year now. Thank you. 😎
Some really good work there George. Thanks. I'll be looking at the clutch lever tidy soon for my Classic. Do you have plans to fettle a decent gear lever for the 22 Classic 350 at all please? I've shifted mine round one spline on the shaft, and its better, but it's only good for dainty shoes, not clunky boots I fear. 🦶🦶🦶 Cheers. Peter
I'm thinking of changing my Tiger 800 for a Tiger 660 but I hate the exhaust, is that something you could change? And it also had no cruise control, only a small thing but would you recommend any kind of throttle stop or something like that? Thanks for all your hard work on our behalf, great to have no ads too, sick of watching them!
Exhaust -we are in final stages of testing/development now. they should be ready to buy in a couple of months at a very good price. As cruise works via ECU on this bike I would use the Triumph system
Definitely worth doing if you value your boots! I modded mine with a racing rear set tip, if there had been a tec part available at the time I’d have ordered it with the gear lever. Great to see feedback is being listened to, kudos!
Hi, The limiter is operated via the ECU program. the speed is sensed via the ABS sensor rings. It would be easiest to turn the limiter off via accessing the ECU. but this would invalidate the warranty.
@@georgemilburn6213 thanks for the reply. Did I read somewhere that RE did an ECU tweak in Brazil that actually delivered this? Possibly something to do with altitude issues?

Gear lever looks awesome however, for us that love the heal - toe, making that complete part look and feel like the toe lever would be very cool.

I like the heel toe shift but not the OE linkage. Any chance of a heel toe shifter with a better linkage like the one shown?
Yes I second that

Do you guys make the brackets for that rear rack in the interceptor?? Also what seat have you got on there? Looks beautiful!
