Youve captured brilliantly what many Meteor owners have realised over the last few months. Many of us really like the heel/toe gear change so if you could develop a better gear shifter with this it would be popular. Will be watching with interest.
Heal toe on this bike is very fun to use. Like a gated shifter in a Ferrari it’s very classy set up. Wearing big boots is now not a problem. Great rumble super comfortable seat/ergonomics and smooth acceleration. This bike is under $4500 it doesn’t have to be perfect- it’s brilliant!!.
Hi afraid one design doesn’t fit all, I found the heal toe a nightmare, I therefore purchased the kit from Tec and what a revelation. That was just a wonderful update and I enjoyed every second. Your opinions and knowledge are, as always, first class. I particularly liked your thoughts on the new Goldie and I think you helped to bring many of us back down to earth! Keep up the great work you do.
Yes, 1) Love the heel toe shifter, but pls give us an upgrade (better materials, better fit), 2) will also buy the foot pegs, 3) a wind screen, 4) Brighter and LED headlight, 5) anything that makes the bike a little bit faster. I'm fine with it now, but if I could get just a few MPH more, would be worth it.
I’ve fitted a tail tidy and a luggage rack in place of the pillion seat and it improves the looks a lot. The meteors speed limited will be hard to break but if you want a fast bike, this bike isn’t for you. The cam sounds great though. I can’t wait to see that. 👍
We think we have a simple way round the speed limiter issue and once we have fully tested it out will do a how to video. but I want to fully check this out once we get some more power out of the motor , and will be later this year.
Today fitted your Gear linkage as because the larger foot pegs had been fitted the gear change was a nightmare also quality of linkage very poor. I used my boot as a Templet to work out distance and angle as I need the extension you provided. Following your guidelines and using grease and lock tight as required, also added spring washers. Road tested and the difference is astounding well designed and high quality components Extremely happy with the modification. Also fitted the clutch cable cover 15 min job and cleans the area up Thank you.
Hello, I bought a black meteor stellar in Thailand last year , would mine have the euro 5 settings same as European exports ? Cheers, I bought the air filter & adaptor last year , works a treat . Rgds Phil ANDREWS.
Like you mine has been delayed, but to the point I haven't got it yet. Although you don't really need one I think it would look better with a rev counter instead of the Tripper. One matching the speedo size and shape would look better in my opinion than the two different sized instruments. Really looking forward to see what you produce for it.
I really like this bike - not to mention your dedicated and skilled work to make it better! The biggest thing on my wish list for it is a belt drive kit though. Having to lubricate the chain all the time and the mess it makes takes a lot of fun out of riding a motorcycle for me. Secondly a performance upgrade like the modified camshaft would be nice just to make it that bit more capable on the motorway. A nicer shifting arm also sounds like a great idea but I agree with the people who want to keep it a heel/toe shifter.
A ton of early-adopting Enfield 650 owners are still hugely grateful for your pioneering "First Service" video on that then new breed, so you can be sure I'll be bringing this offering to the attention of Meteor owners on our "Unofficial Royal Enfield Community Forum" (can't provide link or UA-cam will auto-torpedo my comment) for those who may want to make their 350s all they can be. And I entirely agree with you about the new "BSA" (with emphatic quotes). Frankly, I'd be just as happy with it if it were badged "Mahindra", and I used to own an old BSA single back in the day. After all, the new offering has just about as much shared heritage with the REAL BSA of yore as I do with King Mswati III of Swaziland or any of his wives, now reduced to a mere ten.
What are your thoughts about putting a 16 tooth front sprocket on? The first gear is so low it shouldn’t affect that but it should help with top speed motorway riding.
Great stuff. Regarding the gear shifter for the Meteor 350, could you consider offering a more robust version of the heel/toe shifter (instead of just a toe shifter conversion)? I agree the OEM part is a bit flimsy, but I've actually come to enjoy the heel/toe gear changing on my Meteor. Cheers
A plug & play combined rear light/indicator assembly for the GT that uses the original fixture points would be good - I actually prefer the design of the meteor rear end to my GT.
I recently installed a DNA filter combo on the Fireball Meteor and sounds even better, also it has a little more pep, I was pleasantly surprised. 😎 I also installed a GIVI rack, very functional and looks very cool.
Good round up, mate! I was one of the fortunate few who bought one of the first batch of Himalayan cams, 12000 miles on and it's still delivering the goods. I test rode a Meteor 350, and I'd buy one but for the footrest position. Maybe a complete footrest conversion kit would be a good product. I'm unconvinced by the new Classic 350, I'd prefer a Meteor with different footrest positioning.
Hi, Glad you are liking the cam in your Himalayan. I have yet to get a good look into the differences between the Meteor and new classic 350. My local dealer should be getting some in a couple of weeks. But my thoughts are I prefer the basic look of the Meteor to the classic. I just think the classic is trying a bit to hard to look like it was made in 1953. the added bonus is the Meteor is a good bit cheaper too. I am thinking about a hybrid of the two bikes with the bolt on lower sub frame of the new classic on a meteor so the pegs and levers are in a better position. watch this space.
How about making your footpeg the only one and turning the gear lever 180 degrees ? I know the change pattern would reverse , coming from older brits you can easily adapt left/right and up/down for 1st . The brake pedal might be more involved .
Yes, something we will look at, but at the moment we have problems keeping all the parts in stock at the same time. We hope 2022 will see the delays in getting materials improving.
Napa parts driver here in USA. 'Been telling people for a while..."if you can get it fixed now, do it." In your motorcycle-enriched-life opinion...how much time we got left? At 61 yrs old...should I finance a Meteor asap?...or wait 'til 62 and buy with cash?
I was looking for a RE 500 Custom, they are as rare as hens teeth, so seeing the BSA I was immediately intrigued. I too would like to know more. I'll stay tuned. Your absolutely correct about the OEM sump guard, to fiddley, I opted for the TEC unit. The phrase: well pleased" comes to mind.
I just got my 2022 Meteor (Stellar Black)! Thanks for the review, I bought the foot rests. Should I take the rubber mount off and then install? The reason I ask is I installed them the way you showed, but I can't seem to get them tight enough, and so they move around a bit. Thank you in advance. (Also, I am considering an alternative to the heel toe shifter ... it's a bit awkward.)
I just got the Hunter here in sunny Indonesia. Number one issue are the rear shocks, the bike has almost no static sag and with my 78 kgs very little rider sag. I understand simple, inexpensive suspension, but this is rear end is way too stiff. I have big hands, but the levers are at the very "far" limit. The last thing that no one mentions (so maybe it's me) is the clutch engagement width, it is very narrow. The clutch is smooth and all that, but the entire engagement happens in 10% of the lever travel. I ride 150cc local Hondas and Yamahas where the engagement is 40% or more. Two ideas, a less aggressive cam on the clutch shaft or a longer clutch cable lever on the clutch shaft. Watched your Fuel X, need that as the poor bike runs hot and looking at the white, hot spark plug makes me cringe. Thx for great channel and nice parts.
Fitted a TEC camshaft to my BS4 Himalayan a couple of months ago, and it has transformed its performance - improved acceleration, torque, fuel economy and runs cooler. Complements the PowerCommander ECU, K&N air filter, Lextek muffler and 16-tooth front sprocket. Enjoyed the video. Cheers from Down Under.
Just popped back into the Comments to urge you again to do one of those hugely helpful "First Service" videos for this new breed of "J-Engine" 350 Meteor and Classic, as you did for the 650s--particularly the valve adjustment procedure! Thanks again!
How incredibly knowledgeable you are about your subject, I really enjoyed that. I have a 2021 Street Twin myself and have already had some stuff from you (and more to order). Agree with your comments on the BSA as an ex BSA owner in the 70s. Good luck for the coming year.
I look forward to see what you'll be doing on the Meteor, I have a Fireball Red since last July and have noticed that the shocks have softened a bit, which is great. Thanks for all the info. You'll probably think I'm crazy but I would like the controls to be more forward and the seat lowered.
I also found that the foot pegs are a little too far forward. I got the foot pegs changed for wider pegs and it helped a little. But I wish the pegs were farther back so I could use my legs for shock absorbers
I would be interested to see the before and after performance curves of the new cam shaft. A lot of the videos I have watched that do test rides of the Meteor have said that the bike is speed limited to about 120kmh (75mph). Is there a way around that?
We think we have found a way round the speed limiter, but without more power it is hardly an issue at the moment. once we have fully tested it out we will make the info public.
@@georgemilburn6213 very interested and funds standing by. I bounce off that speed limited on my meteor and its soooo frustrating 😤 so ways round very verywelcome news 🤞👍
Re watch the video on the Meteor. Screens and bars were mentioned as coming, mid 23 now, nothing on web. Also the silencer fitted to your own model. But not offered for general sale. DNA filter and plate certainty adds more pep through the gears.
Love my new Meteor Super Nova. My only criticism so far is the shifters and rear brake levers look cheap. I actually like the heel/toe system. Sometimes messed up the shifts being used to the right side shifter!
I'm guessing that before long, plenty of upgrades will be available including billet controls with proper bearings, or use the originals as templates for machined alloy. The linkages would be simple to get or have made..job done..These bikes are a blank canvas for fabulous upgrades and are so popular, that an industry of improvement will follow
Hi, would you know what is the changes company done in meteor compare to new classic reborn 350. Reborn is relaxed linear torque setup while meteor likes to rush. Even though both bikes use same engine, gearbox
Thanks for the great video. I am a 650 Interceptor owner in the U.S.A., with only 500 miles on the bike. I have purchased your 2 to 1 exhaust system, which I am yet to install, along with the high-flow air filter and booster plug. I am 56 years old, a rather laid-back - mostly city - rider, not a racer, but I do appreciate a freely breathing machine that runs cool, responds well to the throttle, and can keep up with freeway traffic while still providing passing power when needed. My question is, will the booster plug (with its faulty temperature data fed to the ECU) be effective in enriching the fuel/air mixture under all circumstances, or will it only enrich the mixture under acceleration? If it does not enrich the mixture at steady rpm (e.g. while cruising), would a Dynojet fuel injection module, or a Powertronic piggy-back ECU do the trick? Is installing one of those what you mean when you recommend re-mapping the ECU? The boost in horsepower may not not be significant enough to be worth the (almost $400) price of the unit, but if it makes the engine run cooler, it may make it last longer as well. Your advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Never mind my question above about the fuel booster plug. Since then I watched your video on the booster plug, and now I understand that it only enriches the mixture under acceleration (in open loop mode). Thank you for the very informative videos, and the effort you put into developing meaningful modifications for the 650 twins at reasonable prices!
That shifting linkage does look pretty cheap. What is your opinion on the out of box quality of the Himalayan? I'm thinking about purchasing the Himalayan or meteor.
george great vid as usual just a thought on the meteor the rear back rest is far too far forward to allow a pillion any sort of room i have seen adjuster kits out there but not on the tec level of quality sadly..any plans??? oh lastly whats the stock level on the himalayan cams as my warranty is nearly up so thats top of the list atm
I like the heel/toe shifter but removing the sloppiness in the mechanism would be great. With speed limits here in Ireland at 120kph (75mph) I think this bike just isn't for those motorway roads. Here I think you'd need a solid 80mph. No harm though as it's not what I got it for.
Looking forward to seeing your Meteor developments in particular the forks and the exhaust system which I hope you offer in black for us Fireball owners. Do you think it would be an advantage to use an iridium spark plug on the Meteor?
Yes, bikes that run very lean will normally run better with an Iridum plug. the OE makers do not use them due to cost . They also last longer so dealers do not have to change them at service time.(less dealer profit)
For what it's intended to do it's a well designed and balanced bike, I believe the Meteor Classic has addressed the gearshift issue so that only leaves a few cosmetic changes to which I would probably say, why bother, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Very interesting video, many thanks! I ride an old cast iron 500 Bullet and I`m very interested in having a new RE to keep her company in the garage. Waiting to see what the rumoured 650 Meteor is like... Liked and subscribed and will be visiting your website!
Hi, nice to hear a proper accent - not many Geordies over here on the Isle of Man! I'm interested in the adjustable levers for sure, a better exhaust and getting rid of that stupid speed limiter - no 70 limit here. Just a little more would be helpful! Also maybe a cam in the future, I don;t need a rocket ship (have 5 other bikes) but just a bit more go would really make this little bike. I also find the shocks very hard on our bumpy roads, but they may run in yet - we'll see. I would accept a little loss of handling for a better ride. Oh and a rose jointed ear linkage, but may make that myself - I need to keep a heel and toe, smashed left foot full of screws. (walking accident, not bike!).
i spotted the same thing about the gear linkage pure cheap and please make a new bracket to hold the main speedo and put the main clock in the centre and dump that small clock in a dustbin 😀
George, do us a nice satin or ano black fuel filler cap with embossed writing on it for the fireball bikes with the black bars and pipes, i’m sure that would sell really well 😃
Excellent stuff! I bought my meteor because of its footpeg position and I love the heel/toe shift..I've rotated the bars up and changed the switch position to match and it suits me better & fitted panniers on Kawasaki Vulcan 650 supports mounted on the shocks with a longer bolt and a spacer ( if you want to see how fabulous they look I'm a 15 min ride from you in Hallington ).I'll be interested in a stainless exhaust and provided the DNA + stage 2 doesn't invalidate the warranty, I'll order one soon. Great information.
Great video, your thoughts on the bsa were word for word with mine!the price i heard its about 2000 nzd more than the Enfield twins, less power too,the header pipe looks like some scaffolding, way to big, not a fan of putting that rubber coated flange stuff on the seam mine back in the day normally rusts after a while from the scratching installing it.....but very excited about your future video about the bsa ,I think you'll have a catalogue of parts for it 👌 regards from new Zealand
Take that back about the Jaws 350, it was a great high torque twin and much quicker than a 125 and pretty well made😁 Agree about the BSA front pipe, it is hideous. Trying to decide whether to part ex my 1980 Suzuki gs550 for a Himalayan as my bike to go camping with, camshaft gains may swing it.
Sorry about the Jawa comments. But my only experience of them was my mate had one in the late 70's ,and me being a mechanic I was always having to fix it at the side of the road for him.
That's very interesting, but I feel that my BMW '310' is far better suited to todays road and traffic conditions? I can see what RE are trying to do, but it just doesn't work for Europe now if they want to be competitive?
Here in Brazil all owners are been calling to remap the ECU because the type of gasoline here. They are too taking off the speed limit. The meteor now reach about 135 km/h.
Yes, I had heard about that. I understand that UK dealers are waiting on a new map also as they have had issues with bikes in cold weather putting a fault light on. Hopefully they will delete the speed limiter at the same time too.
I would highly appreciate your thoughts on this ...even though height is not at all an issue with me ..I can fully plant my feet on ground on the interceptor and still enough scope that I can stand still touching the ground owing to tall legs but I am personally a fan of motorcycles which are a bit low may be because I rode a cruiser for 15 years .
The foot pegs look good but its a nightmare tightening the bolt on the exhaust side as there is no room to attach the nut I lost two that are now somewhere in the area underneath - impossible to get out - and there is no room for purchase to tighten it up.I gave up.
i like the heel and toe shifter, but have fitted a bigger rubber to it,shortened but a lot bigger in diameter. feels better for me. its actually a footrest rubber off a bsa ,with no name on it.
Please could someone quickly educate me on how the cam replacement can improve the performance of the Meteor? And how can this performance be specifically targeted to that 45 to 65 mph range that George mentioned? Thank you. If I ever got one then I’d want George to fettle it!
I too have frustrations with he heel toe shifter and as soon as a straight toe shifter becomes available I'm buying one. I think it's the linkage thats the problem, it has too much play and occasionally I'll miss a gear or it will only partially shift and I end up between gears. Otherwise I love the bike.
Brilliant video. It's so good to hear someone with obvious substantial experience and common sense with some real practical good value well designed improvements.
ty. repositioned pegs...obviously u could flip the gear lever to reach. 1 up 4 down. i dont know how easy the brake linkage would move back. The spine pounder peg position does sound pretty horrible though lots of cruisers have them.
You could add linkage for the gearchange quite easily, brake not so simple. But we are waiting on looking at the new classic as you could use the lower sub frame and pegs as an alternative
I really do love this bike. The only drawback for me is the top speed. If it can be made to top out at 80mph it would be perfect in my opinion. (For my needs)
The worst thing (among many) i noticed about the new DBD34 Gold Star was the copy of the original lovely cast aluminium pushrod tunnel of the OHV B31, B33 and DBD34. On the new watercooled DOHC Goldies, it appears as a faux chromed plastic clip widget....
As mentioned previously, thanks for a great video. Personally would be interested in the cams and would love to get rid of the pillion seat. Why is all the wiring on show under this seat? Other manufacturers have tried but not found one that I'm happy with. Good luck with everything. 👍
@@georgemilburn6213 Hi George. Instead of a rack, maybe a new rear mudguard set up with wires out of view. Would look neater if no carrying capacity required. Just a thought.
interested to hear the development of performance parts on the classic 350 and the meteor and the new hunter 350 coming to the UK in november.. Three bikes with the same engine.. I have seen pictures of the hunter 350 and can't see where the catalytic converter is.. On the meteor it is placed underneath the engine... The hunter 350 is more sporty (but still heavy at 181kg kerb weight).. Royal enfield say they have reworked the fueling on the hunter vs the other 350cc bikes,, but only 0-60 kph times are slightly faster,, the meteor actually is faster from 0 to 100 kph. The more "sporty" hunter 350 really needs a boost in horsepower and I think it could benefit from a new camshaft, DNA airfilter, an ECU remap and free flowing exhaust... The Hunter is at least 20% cheaper than the scram 411 so expect a price around 3600 pounds for the Hunter 350.. A 20% boost in power would be great from the stock 20.2 bhp to around 24 bhp
This is why UK bike makers had to stop making small capacity bikes in the late 60's/70's as they realized they cost almost as much to make as big bikes . The business model for making small bikes only works for high volumes combined with low labour rates. Hence why small bikes have to be designed with large volume markets like India first and adapted to the lower volume markets needs. But they will keep selling to us as they make a much better profit in Europe on each bike. these bikes are less than £2000 on the road in India , so around £1000 out the factory door before taxes, dealer profit and shipping.
Thinking about how easily your accessory footrests fit into those holes as if they were made for them makes me wonder if RE have planned a more sporty version of the Meteor with reaersets, clip-ons etc? Also, surely there MUST be a 500 version as there always has been. RE were VERY tight lipped about that at the NEC when I asked them about it.
The fact that the vmax is in fourth gear is because fifth gear is an overdrive. And that's a good thing for saving fuel. This is not a sign of lacking power.
Hi. Just acquired a new classic 350 (same engine as the meteor). I guess the new cam, etc. under development will subject to esthetics crossover. Pegs on the classic are a better position; at least for me.
@@thebikegeekandmore2448 if in any doubt get the RE dealer to read the fault code. but the issues we have seen are due to the ECU map not being able to work properly in cold climates during warm up cycle, and needs a small change to the map by the dealer to cure it. But not available yet I have heard. New models often have issues like this.
Yes ,Powertronic have contacted me about these, but my request for technical info have yet to be responded to. I have not tested on as yet. BUT from the wiring connections, it can only work on the O2 sensor input. This is the same as putting an O2 sensor emulator in a Euro4 bike. They will probably have added a simple circuit to pulse the altered voltage to fool the ECU as you cannot use a fixed value eliminator on Euro5. We looked at this, but as it only works in closed loop mode, the benefits are very small and altering the O2 sensor input to run richer in closed loop will have a negative impact on fuel economy. The main area you need to run a richer air/fuel ratio is in open loop (during acceleration and coming off tick over ) a altered O2 signal will not effect this. it also has no effect on the ignition timing like the previous Euro4 powertronic system did. So again it will have little or no effect on power. What does Hitchcocks have to say about it ? as they do have a rolling road ! When we see a bike with one fitted and I have the time I will run one up for an air/fuel check and power test . I will not sell parts like this without testing them first and I am always very dubious of claims by any gadget maker who will not show the air/fuel and power data that I have not tested myself.
Tried one out the other day.....like a good 125!! Old design or not, the bike DOES have an OHC engine, and I would expect a LOT more from a 350 in 2024. Only out on the bike for 5 minutes, and that was all it took for me to say "nooo, thank you!" As you say, around town....great, but once on anything like a faster A road....put it this way, I KNEW that if I bought one of these, I would definitely regret it and it would bring no end of frustration to me. Don't get me wrong, it actually is a cracking little bike for the money, and looks like a million dollars. But as I said, 5 minutes on it and it was a big no. I'm only 11 1/2 stone, too, so it's not like I'm a six foot two 17 stoner! Come to a hill, or (I'm guessing) into a strong headwind.....and you'll be gritting your teeth! Well finished bike, though....and the engine starts and runs lovely. If I was needing a bike to run around town, or to commute 5 miles a day, a big yes. Anything outside of that, including touring, a big no. Being a shorty, I did try the Triumph Speed 400 .....even with proper bike boots, I could only get the tips of my toes down (I'm 5' 4") So that was THAT out, too! Shame, as that bike has twice the power of the Meteor. Just to underline, I am NOT having a go at this bike, it is a real beauty, the value for money is insane, but it's just.....'flat' I definitely would recommend a test ride on one of these, though....but don't be tempted to just buy one without trying it first. SO many glowing reports on YT of how great it is. I nearly bought one on the reviews alone, without testing.....but I am SO glad I did! Happy Biking!
I watched all the stuff about the Meteor, since I own one. If you do go in to the ECU map, is there a possibility you all could get rid of the speed limiter? It definitely has one, and you can't take the bike over 75 mph or 120-121 kph under any circumstance. I don't know WHY RE felt it necessary to limit the Meteor's top speed, as the 20 hp, the laws of aerodynamics, and the laws of physics would naturally constrain its top speed to 130 kph or so anyway. Other Meteor 350 UA-camrs, such as Economical Rides, have shown that the speed is limited. I can't see going to the trouble of doing a different cam prior to eliminating the speed limiter. Since it appears to be part of the ECU's map, could you at least delete that first? As for how RE is making air cooled engines work with Euro 5 emissions rules, I think they did it by conservatively designing and building the air cooled engines. I know that, on my Meteor, the cylinder and the head are about the same physical size as they were on my old Honda FT500 Ascot, which was a big single. By doing so, the engine will run cooler; which means less thermal expansion; which means building it to tighter tolerances that will enable more efficient operation and better emissions. As for the other stuff, I look forward to seeing it! I have the DNA high flow filter and intake on my bike, and it makes a difference. While you won't mistake the Meteor 350 for a superbike, it definitely has better throttle response, and it pulls better in all the gears, including fifth. Plus, it gives the bike a nice sound... :)
I believe bsa could price themselves out the market. Like you said, there selling it on there heritage. Is it better than a royal enfield interceptor? The engine will determine that maybe ? , it certainly doesn't look a better bike .. be interested to see what develops in the coming months. Exciting times ahead.
What you have to remember is it is not the OLD BSA selling these . All they have done is buy the name. This company has absolutely no connection to BSA heritage or past (unlike Royal Enfield )

but I want to fully check this out once we get some more power out of the motor , and will be later this year.
Road tested and the difference is astounding well designed and high quality components
Extremely happy with the modification.
Also fitted the clutch cable cover 15 min job and cleans the area up
Thank you.
Just bought this bike yesterday. You gonna be able to ship to the US?
Hello, I bought a black meteor stellar in Thailand last year , would mine have the euro 5 settings same as European exports ?
Cheers, I bought the air filter & adaptor last year , works a treat .
Rgds Phil ANDREWS.
Like you mine has been delayed, but to the point I haven't got it yet. Although you don't really need one I think it would look better with a rev counter instead of the Tripper. One matching the speedo size and shape would look better in my opinion than the two different sized instruments. Really looking forward to see what you produce for it.
Exactly a tachometer or analog fuel gauge instead of the tripper would be awesome :)
After all, the new offering has just about as much shared heritage with the REAL BSA of yore as I do with King Mswati III of Swaziland or any of his wives, now reduced to a mere ten.
when will the heal and toe conversion be available? Thanks
Best review of this bike on UA-cam
Thanks George (got your name from other reviewer), enjoyed review of the Royal Enfield Meteor.
@@TECBikeParts that sounds like a great idea. 👍
Looking forward to the new parts for the interceptor/Continental, good to see you back George.
How about making your footpeg the only one and turning the gear lever 180 degrees ? I know the change pattern would reverse , coming from older brits you can easily adapt left/right and up/down for 1st . The brake pedal might be more involved .
Could you do a full Himalayan speed kit? Air filter, front sprocket, cam and chain all in one pack??
Yes, something we will look at, but at the moment we have problems keeping all the parts in stock at the same time. We hope 2022 will see the delays in getting materials improving.
Napa parts driver here in USA. 'Been telling people for a while..."if you can get it fixed now, do it." In your motorcycle-enriched-life opinion...how much time we got left? At 61 yrs old...should I finance a Meteor asap?...or wait 'til 62 and buy with cash?
Do it now, you never know what is happening tomorrow. When it is too late you will regret it
I was looking for a RE 500 Custom, they are as rare as hens teeth, so seeing the BSA I was immediately intrigued.
Thanks for the feedback, it helps us a lot.
Just popped back into the Comments to urge you again to do one of those hugely helpful "First Service" videos for this new breed of "J-Engine" 350 Meteor and Classic, as you did for the 650s--particularly the valve adjustment procedure! Thanks again!
Hi
I have just done the service and will get the video up ASAP
Whats the kml when its sitting at 105ish? Want one for motorway use here in nz but we only really have 100kmh motorways apart from one 110kmh section
Can we up the fuel pressure or change the injector to up the fuel a little?
The whole bike is cheaply built, mate.
@@ashpal1484 👎 Well put together IMO... Loving my Fireball Yellow.
*Crap Game*
hi just to say really enjoy your videos keep up the very good info
I know this is 7 months ago, but is your fast road cam now available for the RE 350? - thank you (I’m in the U.K.)
Hi, would you know what is the changes company done in meteor compare to new classic reborn 350. Reborn is relaxed linear torque setup while meteor likes to rush. Even though both bikes use same engine, gearbox
Great video. Looking forward to getting hold of a Himalayan cam when they come back in stock :)
What headlight have you got on the Himalayan as thinking of getting one for my euro 5 bike
Interested in a rack to replace the passenger seat.
Excellent video,.......and a belated HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!!!!
Take care on the road mate and stay safe, peace out ✌
george great vid as usual just a thought on the meteor the rear back rest is far too far forward to allow a pillion any sort of room i have seen adjuster kits out there but not on the tec level of quality sadly..any plans??? oh lastly whats the stock level on the himalayan cams as my warranty is nearly up so thats top of the list atm
@@georgemilburn6213 it's a pity that there isn't a iridium spark plug available for the Meteor 350 so I'm waiting not so patiently 😉
How about some nice custom switchgear for the interceptor?
Blitz Tail Tidy works great. It's been available
How about folding front pegs for the older claasic 500. Make the heel toe shifter adjustable , both in length and angle of front and rear lever.
What if they stuck a 450 cc in the meteor to give it motorway speed ,how would that go ,I recon it would be perfect
Glad to hear the new shifter will be available soon. Will you be able to ship to Canada? Cheers!
Pleased the toe n heel gear can be changed was never a fan.might you be looking at the 350 classic when it arrives?
Yes making them soon .
The panniers and racks cost less than £75!!
The classic 350 has the same engine from what I heard. It has the look I'm after. I would love one with more then the 20hp it currently has
Great video, your thoughts on the bsa were word for word with mine!the price i heard its about 2000 nzd more than the Enfield twins, less power too,the header pipe looks like some scaffolding, way to big, not a fan of putting that rubber coated flange stuff on the seam mine back in the day normally rusts after a while from the scratching installing it.....but very excited about your future video about the bsa ,I think you'll have a catalogue of parts for it 👌 regards from new Zealand
I normally use black tape (see interceptor in garage ) not the car trim you are thinking of.
@@georgemilburn6213 The radiator looks like it was stolen from a tractor, shame as some of the bike looks pretty nice
@@georgemilburn6213 yes indeed, was thinking th,at plain simple electrical tape, shame it needs doing on a new bike though ahh well 🙂
Take that back about the Jaws 350, it was a great high torque twin and much quicker than a 125 and pretty well made😁 Agree about the BSA front pipe, it is hideous.
Bit concerned you said 'see you next year'.
I hope we are going to hear more from you this year??
Can the meteor shocks be fitted to the interceptor to bring down the overall seat height of the interceptor..?
I am keen to know ...
The foot pegs look good but its a nightmare tightening the bolt on the exhaust side as there is no room to attach the nut I lost two that are now somewhere in the area underneath - impossible to get out - and there is no room for purchase to tighten it up.I gave up.
figured it out with coming in from above, use of various washers and cardboard strips... .it always takes me several goes during which i give up😉
I dont suppose theres any word on the high exhaust for the interceptor? Need that scrambler look!
i like the heel and toe shifter, but have fitted a bigger rubber to it,shortened but a lot bigger in diameter. feels better for me. its actually a footrest rubber off a bsa ,with no name on it.
The pipe n cat "delete" would be the quickest way to gain power.
I'm hoping for some nice rear sets for the GT soon.
I second this!
Thanks for the feedback, it is very useful to us. Yes, we are looking at a cover /rack for the rear seat, it is on my TO DO list.
@@georgemilburn6213 Hi George. Instead of a rack, maybe a new rear mudguard set up with wires out of view. Would look neater if no carrying capacity required. Just a thought.
The play on the shifter is quite bad, could it be cured with a simple nylon insert?
One would think so, I was thinking the exact same thing
interested to hear the development of performance parts on the classic 350 and the meteor and the new hunter 350 coming to the UK in november..
Are the American Versions any different?
Hello are you going to make parts on the new Royal Enfield Classic 350?
Yes, but we will have to wait till we can get one
Interesting comments on BSA pricing , it costs no more to make a 350 single vs a 650 single .
Is RE planning GT350 an 350cc version of Continental GT650
Nice informative video sir...... can you make gear liver and break liver on literly back
The fact that the vmax is in fourth gear is because fifth gear is an overdrive. And that's a good thing for saving fuel.
This is not a sign of lacking power.
Hi. Just acquired a new classic 350 (same engine as the meteor). I guess the new cam, etc. under development will subject to esthetics crossover. Pegs on the classic are a better position; at least for me.
Yes basically the same bike, both have the new J type 350 motor fitted.
Sir, thank you for your video. What is your suggestion for a short time solution for the engine light?
You can reset it yourself (good video on youtube on how to do it) and keep in touch with your dealer to get a map update when they have one.
@@TECBikeParts so now harm will be done to the engine?
@@thebikegeekandmore2448 if in any doubt get the RE dealer to read the fault code. but the issues we have seen are due to the ECU map not being able to work properly in cold climates during warm up cycle, and needs a small change to the map by the dealer to cure it. But not available yet I have heard. New models often have issues like this.
Hitchcocks now stock the Fuelx controller will that help with performance?
@@georgemilburn6213 Thanks George. I'll ask Hitchcocks if they have any test info
We think we can bypass the speed limiter , watch this space.
Nice video sir can you make non cruise this bike like reborn classic some changes
