This playthrough is gonna end with the 1st episode titled "I Shouldn't Have Played This Game" to the last episode being titled "I'm So Glad I Played This Game"
I'm so happy that everyone came together to keep him from being spoiled. It's a beautiful story anyway, but that shock of learning for the first time is a joy to watch.
@@rhettorical RIGHT? I'm always so used to other communities trying to spoil stuff before they even get near the reveals but I'm glad we came together and basically had counter information comments to keep him from the spoiler to make it hit THAT much harder.
@@DeiZeiga Not at all, remember her dying wish was for him to not forget her, its the entire reason he became a flesh eater. So he would not automatically return to his core forgetting all about his life with her.
I always thought he kept her body frozen so at least he could live with himself knowing 1. She was always near him so that rather, 2. He wouldn’t bring himself to bury her anywhere, so he thought keeping her here was the best choice for him
Fun fact: The reason why there are so many common blades in comparison to rare blades is because most core crystal went through Amalthus's cleansing of data to "make it easier to bond with drivers" when he was really just stealing all the blades memories for himself. All our rare blades have been found or given to us or just taken from another dead driver before he was able to get his hands on them first and erase what makes them unique
A commonly accepted fan theory is that the reason for the Titans slowly dying off is Amalthus. The Cleansing procedure allows him to manipulate the data present within core crystals, allowing him and his forces to use them without much difficulty. However, that data is also what allows a Blade to eventually become a Titan. After a Blade has gone through multiple drivers and lives, it will eventually form into a Titan. Without the data however, they cannot do that. Additionally, its very poetic what Amalthus is doing. He wishes to burn the world to recreate it in his ideology, but the very way he goes about it prevents him from actually creating that world. Its almost instinctual, like his sheer hatred for the world is what ends up destroying it, despite his main intention being to recreate the world. You can see how he is a mirror to Malos, with their motives being similar, but their way of going about it being different, one doing it out of malice and hatred, while the other is doing it out of ignorance and personal gain. Edit: Galea is a character present in Xenoblade 1, being Meyneth, the God of the Mechonis, and the person who took refuge in Fiora for a bit.
Oh I thought he was killing off the titans on purpose this whole time I guess this makes more sense for it being unintentional seeing as he never brings it up the entire game Now that I think about it there’s really no other reason discussed for why the titans would be dying off besides amalthus too huh
The one thing that makes me argue against this fan theory, is that we know Titans have been dying out because Rex says it at the beginning of the game. But what makes this a weak counter argument, is that we don’t know for how long. And it’s not an oversight by the writers, it’s limited knowledge of the characters that they can only share so much to the player
@@buddymmx3936nah he 100% knew as titan biology as it was studied during his lifetime and revealed to him so removing the data that allowed blades to evolve and eventually become titans would stop that process
My theory is a bit different. My theory is that the cleansing procedure doesn't take away data or anything like that. but more a procedure he initially found in order to look into cores data as well as making the cores safer for things like blade eater procedures. and it had the additional effect of increasing resonance rate. Amalthus says the reason he created the procedure was to find and raise cores containing certain data, and Jin says he took the cores from all those blades. so combining those, i don't think the cleansing procedure took data or information from the cores in the procedure, but it was something he did in order to discern which cores he would want and then inject those cores into himself using blade eater technology and possibly make the core safer to do so. As for the titans dying out, I think that's easily explained by the fact that Indol controls the distribution of blade cores. Super powers are heavily incentivized to ship their cores to Indol cause the cleansing procedure increases the likelihood of resonance. and the nature of it means that what they receive from indol doesn't have to follow any pattern or ratio to what they send in. effectively allowing Indol and Amalthus to hoard blade cores and reduce how many are out there.
The scene with Zeke asking Rex if he likes people and the world, and Rex's statement that he likes himself are so important. He is the total opposite to Amalthus who hates the world desiring it's descruction, hates people who kill and cause suffering in this world, and hates himself who is a killer and contributes to that suffering. This very hatred is what spawned Malos, drives him to revel in chaos and destruction, and drives him to hate Amalthus just as he hates himself.
Jin, Malos, and the rest of Torna are prob one of my fav JRPG villains. They are a foil to Rex's party. They all share a close bond. It is rare to see villains use the power of friendship. They even have the typical JRPG goal of killing a god. Not to mention, they also have RPG roles with each other, Patroka (Attacker), Mikhail (Tank), and Ahkos (Support). They even initially had it twice over at the beginning of the game, Malos (Tank), Jin (Attacker), and Nia (Support).
@DeiZeiga Yeah, the rest outside of Jin and Malos are sorta underdeveloped, but still can appreciate their close bonds. Like how Patroka reciprocated Mikhails' feelings at the end and how Alkhos considers Patroka his sister
Apparently Malos's Japanese voice actor was actually confused about Jin's gender when reading the script due to how _charged_ the lines were. His English voice actor on the other hand is gay himself and decided to go all-in.
If only Malos wasn't awakened by Amalthus. He could've been a good guy. But props to him for legitimately being a friend to Jin...even if he was a little bit of a bad influence lol
I won’t spoil it. But rewatch the cutscene when Alvis shows Shulk when Klaus created the universe at the end of the Xenoblade 1. You’ll know perfectly who “Galea” was
Fun fact: When the game gives the tutorial for the 3 person attack between Rex, Pyra, and Nia, you can actually use that attack in the Amalthus fight (which is before the tutorial is given). I assume because there was no time inbetween the Jin fight and the Amalthus fight for that tutorial to happen.
Galea was the soul of the mechonis that spent time in fiora in xenoblade 1 like how Zanza was the soul of the bionis. She went by the name Meynth by then but I’m pretty sure it tells you her other name at some point in 1.
No we only learned her real name in XC2 and we learn Klaus's real name in XC1 and this goes back to the theming of female and male a long running theme throughout the series that carried over from Xenosaga and Xenogears the Male Persona and the Female Persona.
There's a really funny speed running technique to killing Amalthus fast. Speed runners can set up a blade combo to blow Amalthus back, which if done correctly, can throw him back into the hole he made in the floor, killing him instantly.
I wanted to mention that too. It’s hilarious. I think it involves using Break and a Blade Combo 3 special. Particularly if it has knockback/blowdown effect I think
Bro it is so hilarious. I actually killed him by accident like that on my first playthrough. He has half his health, and the battle was already long, I had Kora with Zeke (He can cause blowdown with the claws, although he actually does a drop kick haha). I had Amalthus near the hole from a blowdown effect I did with a previous Blade Combo, and then, suddenly Zeke makes the move and... bye bye Amalthus, say hi to your mom for me.
Oh boy, you are in for a treat. The final chapter is just peak. A couple of things: -Lora was already dead, she has been for 500 years since Jin became a flesh-eater by consuming her heart. He kept her corpse frozen in ice as a reminder of his past and his reasons to fight. -About Galea, if you remember from XC1, it was stated that both Zanza and Meyneth (the souls of the Bionis and Mechonis respectively) were originally humans that turned into gods after the world-changing experiment showed at the end. These are the two scientists in that cutscene, Klaus being the human form of Zanza and Galea the one of Meyneth.
So despite hating the other side, both Jin and Amalthus share a common trait: they still can't move on from the death of their loved ones even after 500 years. This further proves the point that it doesn't matter whether you're a Blade or a Human; it's your actions that make the difference.
🫡 Pour one out for my boah Mik. Still a more tragic life than Jin’s to me. Really wish he had no more interaction with Brighid, Haze, Aegaeon and Mythra. If you know you know. There’s a nice detail when Jin f*cked you guys up at the end of Chapter 6 when Rex is down saying “I have to find the answers we’re searching for” and the camera pans to Mikhail turning his head to Rex when holding Mórag at throat point. And what’s his final words to Rex? “It’s Rex right? Have you found your answer yet?”
@@Kamakiri86 ever since playing the Torna side story and seeing THAT moment with Mikhail, i’ve kind of hated the writers for two instances in the main story when it came to Mikhail 1. When we first fight Patroka and Mikhail and as Mythra smites them he goes “She’s…she’s, beautiful” because Mikhail sure as hell has got a good memory if he remembers living with the Old Torna crew and how he hates Amalthus to the bone more than Akhos and Patroka do. 2. His sacrifice. It would’ve been really cheap way to say “play the DLC”, but I wanted Mikhail’s final goodbye to our gang be something like an ambiguous “Mythra, I forgive you” that the player wouldn’t know until the play the DLC. I’ll most likely chalk it up to that the writers weren’t going to account for how frequent Mikhail would be present during the Torna side story
That moment of realization when you realize this game is was actually a sequel (or happening at the same time) to the first game the entire time Gotta love Monolith
21:19 spot fucking on my man! Good shit you realised it. The story will further explain this in more detail, but you’ve got the gist of it down right. And yes, that means Malos could’ve been good, and Pyra and Mythra could’ve been evil
Jin is a really good antagonist. Reawakened by one of the kindest people in this world, Lora. Helping defeat Malos only for Amalthus to send a squad to destroy the Aegis, mortally wounding Lora in the process, feeling like he had no choice but to become a flesh eater to keep remembering her as she died, and to get revenge on Amalthus. Not to mention he took Haze and a part of her core. Which is why he kills Haze, to free her from the monster that is Amalthus. He became disillusioned with his place in this world, and the Architect, and the people in this world. Only being able to find new friendships in Torna, only for them all to die too, with the exception of Nia and Malos. It's only through his various encounters with Rex does he find that his will and duty can be "handed down" as he says. I love Jin as a character, and I'm glad you now know why too.
And I feel like a certain Xenoblade 3 antagonist even takes it a step further in the right direction of “How can we make Jin better, and correct the writing flaws of him?” No really I do.
"friendships in Tora," Not hating on the typo, but the image of Tora and Jin being best friends and bonding like the rest of Torna's members just cracks me up. Do you think Jin would be into Blushy-Crushy?
It also does _not_ trigger if you try to use it as Mythra. It will however trigger if you have Mythra at max affinity and trigger it with Nia (because Pyra and Mythra share affinity).
Fun fact: If you can push Amalthus into the hole he crawled out of (literally), that ends the fight right then and there. You'll miss the chain attack bonuses but it is so cathartic being able to kill him by pushing him to his entryway. XD
During my bringer of caos run I tried so much, my adenine was spamming, but fuck I couldn't do It After tons of try, had to actually pray and win normally.
@@Gamer-g2v1r if by insane, you mean Mikhail reuniting with Jin only to find put Jin’s working with the very same guy who killed a certain someone close to Mikhail…then yeah, insane indeed
Yeah, this whole 3rd act of Xenoblade 2, I don’t think I had ever been more invested in a story or characters. G’ Dayum do I love this game. ❤️💛🩶 And Rexes character growth *chefs kiss - that scene back in Gormott where he tried to pull up Pyra but needed Poppi’s help and now he grabs her mid air and swings them both to safety. So many small things that just adds up, so freaking good. Can’t wait for the finally!
I watched these people grow over the course of this story and the side quests, I've never felt this way about video game characters before. I'm proud of their growth.
Duuuude, seeing you be shoked and surprised by the Klaus reveal made me smile so much. I am absolutely hyped to see you continue to play peak fiction :D
@@DeiZeiga you aint’ seen nothing yet man. Just wait til’ you get to the last few cutscenes of the game. Believe it or not, you still have 4 boss battles left, including the final boss. Have fun guessing who else is left for you to fight
"And when i'm not around to stand by you in that effort...... someone else will!" Xenoblade 3's protagonists: 👀 Also yeah, surprise! This game is tied to Xenoblade 1. We gaslighted you so as to not spoil the surprise. And since you were wondering, Galea became Meyneth from Xenoblade 1 after the experiment failed just like Klaus became Zanza, the rest will be explained shortly after. One last little tidbit, you know that hole on the ground that Amalthus made when he broke through the floor which is still present during his boss fight? That's not a cosmetic detail, that shit stays there permanently, you can fall down it both during and after the boss fight. But you can also push Amalthus into it with blowdown to instakill him and end the fight right then and there, it's pretty hard to do and equally as funny, and i'm told speedrunners use the strat all the time. I cannot fucking wait for the last episode! Nearly two years later and you're almost at the end! I also can't wait for the eventual Torna and Future Connected playthroughs and, of course, Xenoblade 3. Have a wonderful endgame, my man!
Funniest thing ever, thought it was just like the pit caused by Malos during the Cliffs of Morytha fight. finding out it was entirely bottomless as high up as we were was absolutely hilarious.
Also also, I find that Galea (supoosedly) being the Guldo you fight in the ruins of Torna, quite the interesting theory. Hell I don’t know why players assumed it was Galea out of all the scientists that became the Guldos of Morytha
@@LFPman Galea being the Infernal Guldo was actually deconfirmed in an interview included in the Xenoblade 3 artbook. People theorized that because the ID card it drops has the same picture as Galea's ID, but it was just a reused asset and the Guldo is supposed to be a regular woman.
@@joshuareesor1756 It makes sense though, since all of Galea’s soul went to Mechonis, while only half of Klaus went to Bionis and his other half stayed in Alrest. Though perhaps there’s a deeper connection between that guldo and the Fog King (considering they have the same exact character model and animations in battle)
That opening cutscene to chapter 10 blew all us Xeno fans mind back in the day. All connections to past Xeno games at that point were just references. Mostly because Gears, Saga and Blade are all owned by different companies. So for us XC1 players from the Wii game going into this game and seeing this was one of the biggest twists. Especially since X has no direct connections so we assumed 2 would be the same. But nah this is the first time 2 Xeno games were directly connected to each other. The different episodes of Saga don’t count cause those were all connected from the get go and weren’t hiding it. Also the woman named Galea, she’s Meyneth from Xenoblade 1. The soul of Mechonis. And yes the meeting with Shulk is non-canon. People saying that vision of earth wasn’t a connection just said it so not to spoil you o this reveal.
@@DeiZeiga To be fair, the land of challenge is not canon to the story at all... so people were very correct about that :) But yes... XB fans will go to great lengths to prevent spoilers from sucking the fun out of people's playthroughs.
"And thus, Dei meets peak" I can't wait to see your reaction to ending! It's cool to see your playthrough all the way to the end :) Just one last thing, enjoy the end of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 :)
@@DeiZeiga I know, is sad to finish something you truly enjoyed. Also remember some of the blade quest have been unlocked now that you're chapter 10. And there's some post game stuff you may be interested in
36:24 - That's basically it. Jin took Lora's heart to "let her live at least in his memory" and with that became undead. He wanted to live further. But where and for what? This scene shows how he broke his any faith for 500 years of useless existence. Maybe only hate to humanity was accumulated. And then he met Malos. He gave him purpose to move on. Jin wanted poetic end but met harsh reality.
Lora has been dead since Jin became a Flesh Eater out of desperation to not forget her, and keeping her preserved in ice also served that purpose, though in another parallel to Amalthus, he also kept it as a reminder of their misguided trust/hope for the Architect/humans. Rex wasn't wrong when he compared them, but obviously they didn't go exactly the same paths. Also wow that was such a fun video to witness. Have fun with the 2 new level 4 Specials with Pyra and Nia! Also don't forget now that you are in chapter 10, you can do a quest that's related to Bana.
Yeah definitely felt that, and 2 was my first game. Also you need to complete 2 quest called Farewell, Good Friend and Bana's Secret Treasure. Once those are done, you go talk to Niranira in the Chairman's Room in Argentum.
Lot to cover with this one so let’s get into it. Mikhail is one of my favourite characters in the game. There were hints that he was older than he looked, namely him showing up in cutscenes in the past, but he also knew that Fan La Norns real name was Haze. He’s also the only one to ever question Torna’s goal, showing that even he’s more loyal to Jin than their ideals. On the other hand, there’s Malos. Malos would do anything for Jin, and is more Jin’s blade than he was ever Amalthus’. A lesser game would have had him betray or not care for Jin, but he’s genuinely upset when they part ways. Even if Amalthus hadn’t taken their cores, Ahkos and Patroka couldn’t come back. They’re flesh eaters like Jin and Nia, one chance is all they get. Zeke and Amalthus’ heart to heart is important because it shows that Amalthus was ultimately human. Zeke was probably the only person he opened up to like that, and Zeke’s sympathy isn’t supposed make up pity him. Zeke understood Amalthus, possibly even considered him a friend once. He knows he’s an irredeemable monster, but can’t help remember how he saved his life. And most importantly, it’s only Zeke that expresses sympathy. No one else mourns him, not even Pandoria. But Zeke can’t help but feel pity. Regarding the Shulk cross over, it’s PROBABLY not canon, however it doesn’t actually contradict anything in the story and could happen. At the very least it’s canon to smash bros. Finally, there’s Klaus. In 1 all we saw was a megalomaniacal asshole, just Zanza without the power, but here he’s recontextualised as someone with a bit more character. He still wants to become a god, but he’s not just doing it for his own sake. He genuinely believes the experiment is a good thing for humanity, and rather than throwing Galea when she tries to stop him, he tries to explain to her before pushing her off him. We see that he, just like Amalthus, was just a human.
@@DeiZeiga She was there so that Jin could remember what he's fighting for and what the world took from him. So that he didn't stray away from his mission with Malos.
35:27 It’s official! DeiZeiga has completed his shonun arc! My man has truly grown and I am not mocking you one bit! I knew you could change your perception on Jin. It just took some time
[Edit] Bro tread carefully in the comments, I've seen some mad spoilers. 34:39 I absolutely love that they delay the subtitle here, it's so perfect. And then they have Jin looking up as well afterwards, which to me definitely implies The Architect sent a certain someone to him. Ah, Fan la Norne / Haze, it sure does put a new perspective on her death scene when you realize what her fate would've been later. Akhos and Patroka's backstory are actually more so to flesh out Jin's connection to Malos in current time. "My name is Jin. I am just like you." "The name's Malos. I'm the same as you." The final chapter.. the first scene hits so hard. The Land of Challenges being non-canon is still true, but the other things were meant to uphold a certain level of hype for when you reached this point. Galea is Meyneth.
Yeah, Akhos and Patroka are supposed to be the latest people in the line of sorrow that connects them all. Amalthus reaches out to Malos, Malos reaches out to Jin, and Jin reaches out to Akhos/Patroka/Nia (as Jin does the same hand gesture in their meeting flashback). Each person passing down their thoughts and feelings, wishing to forge bonds and find who they are through these connections, with only Nia being able to escape the same fate through the hope Rex and the rest of the team gave her.
Actually that’s kind of a bit of a retcon now that I think of it. Yeah, the concept of the third form is to create whatever the heck it wants. In that scenario, she was able to match Jin’s supersonic speed. So yeah, he probably could’ve hit Amalthus from back at the tree
17:26 when I got to this moment I was like "This is the best seasonal anime I have ever seen in the past decade". Because people kept saying this game had a ton of anime cliches. Like fuck those people man. If this was an anime this shit would by the most hyped and beloved show when it came out. Like damn man I don't wanna hear shit that Rex is a bad protagonist when he's got an amazing scene like this. Granted I don't think people now-a-days say that. But back during the first two years the game was out there were plenty of people like that.
We all lied to you about the tie-in to XC1 in the comment section... the same way the devs lied to us LOL... Also Galea is Meyneth, you remember the Soul of the Mechonis.
the fact the gaslighting for this many videos actually worked with no one genuinely spoiling the story is crazy and I am so happy about that lol Also cant wait for the final fight and torna, its gonna be even more exciting than this
I'm surprised you remembered the Drivers influence Blades thing. That is 100% correct and that's why Malos is so intend on destroying the world. The thing is that he was born with this purpose before he could even form his own views and opinions so he tries to escape this mindset but the world just keeps reaffirming his worldview.
@@DeiZeiga Yes it's good!, a long time ago i watched it and didn't like it (The protagonist's voice was loud and annoying) the first episode and dropped it, but it came on Netflix recently, and i gave it another shot and who to thunk it? i binge watched three seasons of it, and even the protagonist's voice, he got more quiet and calm, though sometimes a little Loud when he gets flustered also, the fourth season the current newest season is dropping this saturday on Netflix Gosh it's so Good!
The way this game handles their antagonists is just top tear! It still hits now when I see those scenes especially with Jin and Amalthus. The hype I experienced during the intro to chapter 10 has yet been matched from another game. I was not ready for that connection
Ha Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is one of those games that makes you love the main characters and love hate the villains. In any case, I'm happy to see a new person enjoying the game and finishing it. Keep the good work, can't wait to see the final episode and maybe the DLC story 👀
Takahashi also said that Xenoblade 1 and 2 had nothing to do with each other. So, when we watched this scene, we were all mindblown. Galea is Meyneth (the soul of Mechonis). And as for Torna: it's completely normal to develop sympathy for them.
Yes Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna The Golden County was supposed to be in the main game but could you imagine a video game getting a 30 hour flashback with new gameplay mechanics. Or a better explanation, imagine during Final Fantasy VII when Cloud goes into the Shinra Mansion instead of a small cutscene it was the entirety of Crisis Core.
About that three person attack tutorial at the end of the video, the way it works is that if you get Pyra (unfortunately Pyra only) and Blade Nia to high affinity (the yellow bond line) in battle, there’s a special animation for their Level IV blade special and it’s different depending on whether you initiate it with Pyra or Nia
The comments section has done my job of the lore dump, so all I have left to say is Je-je-je-je-jebaited! Yeah we weren't spoiling this reveal for you, it only gets spicier don't you worry, the gaslighting was done with good intentions. I hope you enjoy the final stretch of this game, this is absolute peak fiction.
Mikhail: You took everything from me! Amalthus: I don’t even know who you are Is how you sum up Mikhail. Without spoiling the Torna DLC, Amalthus indirectly took basically everything that Mikhail held dear to him
Because it's for Xenoblade 1 I'll clarify about Galea. Galea is Meyneth. When Klaus was reincarnated into the Xenoblade 1 world as Zanza, the controller of the Bionis, Galea was also reincarnated as Meyneth, the controller of the Mechonis. Also, you may decide not to because you don't want to take away from the story but, if you're looking for another detour from finishing the game, have Adenine be a member of your party and look through the World Tree again. Her Blade Quest was located there.
“WHO’S THE BAD GUY ANYMORE?!” Welp, now you know, you kept wondering about Amalthus the entire game, his motives, his awakening of malos ~~his ability to survive falling from large distances.~~ but now you have your answers, I think your confusion makes the reaction all the better, because you expected him to be the biggest shitbag, and still you go wide eyed, Malos is evil because he adopted Amalthus’s ideals unwillingly, he spread that tragedy to Jin, Jin spread that tragedy to Torna, Torna kept ruining things for us as the player, and it’s Amalthus’s fault, you were right “He’s been manipulating everyone’s lives.” You said before iirc, although it’s more indirect.
Man I love this game and all its characters. I just realise (after nth times seeing or playing this game) that Rex carrying Pneuma when he used his grappling hook could be a reference at the begin of the game when he couldn't lift Pyra. And I particularly love Rex's speech to Jin (and how he stays the same in FR).
Incredible episode, man! I love the ending of Chapter 9, and Im so glad to see you come around on my boy Jin! As for your question about Galea, Galea is Meyneth from Xenoblade 1, though in the corresponding cutscene from XC1 her name was never said so you wouldnt remember that name specifically. More of your questions will be answered as we approach the ending though!
I love the speedrun strategy for the Amalthus fight being hit him with a knock back effect to send him back into the hole he came out of, resulting in instant death via ring out
I remember 2017, before Xenoblade 2 released Nintendo was saying (actually I think it was an interview with the Legend Director Takahashi) Xeno 2 was not connected at all with Xeno 1. What a surprise it was to see this by myself in the game, and also slowly realize there was a connection after that vision when Rex picks the 3rd Aegis sword or Malos shows up wielding a Monado or Mythra literally having Visions power
29:02 fun fact the hole that amalthus made can be used to insta kill him by knocking him down it which is super funny but absolutely ruins the tension and emotion for the battle and what comes after
26:28 I’m not trying to shame you or anything, but you should change Pandoria’s skin to one that shows her eyes through he glasses. She shows a lot of emotion in just her eyes alone especially as you’re reaching the climax of the story
38:20 Hey by the way remember when Molas was shouting out Monado Arts? Nia Your power destroys Molas, but mine restores and when Pyra and Mythra Fused in to Pneuma Yeah that's Important! so yeah, that was another hint that they were Connected Fun Fact you'll get more on how the Monado and the Aegis are connected next episode! (: also i enjoyed the video by the way i loved how you were absolutely bamboozled, also i knew you would warm up to Jin Sad fact, but the reason why he killed fan is to put her out of her misery because she was being used by that awful man, Amalthus!!, so i can't wait for you to play Torna (':
I was shocked when I first saw it but then I thought the Monado was just a reference to 1 and nothing more but goddamn I was wrong! I see WHY he did it I just think that returning her to her core would've been enough.
@@DeiZeiga But you see, she couldn't return to her core because Amalthus has the other half, you see if she would have lived (Past the chapter she had died) our party would have had the turmoil of Ki**ing Amalthus which would in turn Kill Fan regardless of what Jin did, can you imagine what Rex would do? because if her driver dies, she dies because her core is haft so she can't return to her core )':
Okay so basically, Galea became Meyneth the same way Klaus became Zanza Also, lmao, it's great how fans of this series just universally agree to make new players believe the games are unconnected just for this reveal.
I believe that’s when it started to get developed it was meant to be a special chapter to play as Jin to try and flesh out Jins backstory but it e evolved into too big a thing so they turned it into the dlc
So, I put these videos in my watch later list as they appear, and I watch them while going through my list. But after that last one, I just need to watch through the rest of them now. I didn't see it in the comments, so in case it wasn’t mentioned yet, about Mik's death... In the new game+, at the start of chapter 9, he's weirdly hanging out at the base of the World Tree. Talk to him, and he'll join you as a blade! A really good blade.
This playthrough is gonna end with the 1st episode titled "I Shouldn't Have Played This Game" to the last episode being titled "I'm So Glad I Played This Game"

Dang, so amalthus is a gacha game developer, no wonder he's evil
never thought about it that way but that makes so much sense
I wish that was clear in the story, or a bigger story point because I didn't even think I knew that
DAMN! He is such an asshole. Factory resetting blades AND ruining our pulls, now I'm even happier that he's dead.
Oh I thought he was killing off the titans on purpose this whole time
I guess this makes more sense for it being unintentional seeing as he never brings it up the entire game
Now that I think about it there’s really no other reason discussed for why the titans would be dying off besides amalthus too huh
@@LFPman That's a fair point. It is never confirmed, I just personally like it because it works well with Amalthus and his character.
Dam it really explains a LOT about why Malos is the way he is.
@@DeiZeiga I'll definitely have more to say about Malos in the finale.
It’s a shame we didn’t get much of Torna outside of Jin, Malos and sort of Ahkos. But I do like the parallels.
@DeiZeiga Yeah, the rest outside of Jin and Malos are sorta underdeveloped, but still can appreciate their close bonds. Like how Patroka reciprocated Mikhails' feelings at the end and how Alkhos considers Patroka his sister
Dei to dead Jin: “Perhaps I treated you too harshly”.
That was going to be the community post originally 🤣
I really like that Jin and Malos are genuinely friends.
Nah they're roommate
Apparently Malos's Japanese voice actor was actually confused about Jin's gender when reading the script due to how _charged_ the lines were. His English voice actor on the other hand is gay himself and decided to go all-in.
That hug gave me Voldemort hugging Draco vibes.
@@angeldude101 ...I wasn't expecting Malos's voice to be gay, but I'm not particularly surprised either. lmao
You’ll know perfectly who “Galea” was
Yep 🫡
Fun fact: When the game gives the tutorial for the 3 person attack between Rex, Pyra, and Nia, you can actually use that attack in the Amalthus fight (which is before the tutorial is given). I assume because there was no time inbetween the Jin fight and the Amalthus fight for that tutorial to happen.
I would've appreciated a phase 2 just to test it out...
Galea was the soul of the mechonis that spent time in fiora in xenoblade 1 like how Zanza was the soul of the bionis.
She went by the name Meynth by then but I’m pretty sure it tells you her other name at some point in 1.
And now I feel stupid about forgetting that lol thanks for telling me!
No it's only told in xc2 we get zanza's real name being klaus at the end of xc1
No we only learned her real name in XC2
and we learn Klaus's real name in XC1
and this goes back to the theming of female and male a long running theme throughout the series that carried over from Xenosaga and Xenogears the Male Persona and the Female Persona.
It's truly a fun speedrun tech
The fact that I missed that will haunt me now
@@DeiZeiga theres always a chance to do it in new game+ since there is stuff exclusive to that
Bro it is so hilarious.
A couple of things:
-Lora was already dead, she has been for 500 years since Jin became a flesh-eater by consuming her heart.
Carrying around a corpse is kinda fucked up goddamn Jin.
Thanks for reminding me cause I sure as shit forgot lol
So despite hating the other side, both Jin and Amalthus share a common trait: they still can't move on from the death of their loved ones even after 500 years. This further proves the point that it doesn't matter whether you're a Blade or a Human; it's your actions that make the difference.
Ok, so I’ll put it bluntly. This Galea person is…Meyneth, the deity of the Mechonis from the first game
Thanks for reminding me, it’s been a minute since I’ve played 1😅
No prob, God Bless 👍
🫡 Pour one out for my boah Mik. Still a more tragic life than Jin’s to me. Really wish he had no more interaction with Brighid, Haze, Aegaeon and Mythra. If you know you know.
There’s a nice detail when Jin f*cked you guys up at the end of Chapter 6 when Rex is down saying “I have to find the answers we’re searching for” and the camera pans to Mikhail turning his head to Rex when holding Mórag at throat point. And what’s his final words to Rex? “It’s Rex right? Have you found your answer yet?”
That’s RIGHT I forgot he did that! He really was the best dude in that group.
Sorry, remove the “no” in “Really wish he had no more interaction…”
I never understood why Mythra never reacts to seeing Mikhail when they clearly have history and he should be long dead.
@@Kamakiri86 ever since playing the Torna side story and seeing THAT moment with Mikhail, i’ve kind of hated the writers for two instances in the main story when it came to Mikhail
@@LFPmanthere are soem reasons mythra would bring things up but also that he was a kid back then and stopped growing after becoming an adult
That moment of realization when you realize this game is was actually a sequel (or happening at the same time) to the first game the entire time

They hid it well, even if it still has some parts that don't make sense.
21:19 spot fucking on my man! Good shit you realised it. The story will further explain this in more detail, but you’ve got the gist of it down right.
And yes, that means Malos could’ve been good, and Pyra and Mythra could’ve been evil
More so mythra for reasons in the dlc but yes
Some "If our positions were switched" type shit.
@@DeiZeiga…. Keep these words in mind, you have no idea how right you are.
"friendships in Tora,"

Don't Pyra and Nia need max blade affinity or something to use that?
@@icedragon7378 Yeah but there's two different versions of the special, it changes depending on who Rex is engaging when triggering it.
XD

Xenoblade 3's protagonists: 👀
Also yeah, surprise!

I guess you could say Amalthus dug his own grave.
@@joshuareesor1756
It makes sense though, since all of Galea’s soul went to Mechonis, while only half of Klaus went to Bionis and his other half stayed in Alrest.

Also don't forget now that you are in chapter 10, you can do a quest that's related to Bana.
...I can't predict anything in this game anymore and I'm not mad about it lol and can you remind me how to start that quest?
Yeah definitely felt that, and 2 was my first game. Also you need to complete 2 quest called Farewell, Good Friend and Bana's Secret Treasure. Once those are done, you go talk to Niranira in the Chairman's Room in Argentum.
I almost forgot, there's 2 more quest before you can get Farewell, Good Friend. Those quest are called We Meet Again and Insurgent Investigations.
Bro, Lora was already dead. She was just a frozen corpse.
Y’all can’t be serious… I could’ve sworn there was a reason she was still here.
I think he just thought that maybe he could save her somehow. When the sad truth is that she’s not coming back.
@@DeiZeiga She was there so that Jin could remember what he's fighting for and what the world took from him. So that he didn't stray away from his mission with Malos.

Torna can't be saved... but you can use them all as Blades in New Game+! Except for Jin and Malos :(
Which is a damn shame!, because man do i want Molas's Monado and Jin's Sword 😭
I agree. Back when I first played XC2, I hated Amalthus more than anyone else, because he’s the pure definition of pride and evil.
I'm the same as you."
The final chapter.. the first scene hits so hard.
Ooh, i'll get the popcorn, this shit is gonna be so good!
14:48 Jin just meant the whole fighting and Blade injustice, not that Rex is holding back while fighting
Oh I see that actually makes sense
I think he's talking to Pyra/Mythra, as the full quote is "How could you ally with the mortals? With your power, this could have been over long ago!"
2:14 We saw them flying earlier during the previous fight with Jin. The fused form also has glowing wings.
THEN WHAT THE F
Actually that’s kind of a bit of a retcon now that I think of it. Yeah, the concept of the third form is to create whatever the heck it wants. In that scenario, she was able to match Jin’s supersonic speed. So yeah, he probably could’ve hit Amalthus from back at the tree
I think that they just climbed to a high place then jumped something like sonic
There is a difference from being on land the flying and falling then flying
17:26 when I got to this moment I was like "This is the best seasonal anime I have ever seen in the past decade". Because people kept saying this game had a ton of anime cliches. Yeah we weren't spoiling this reveal for you, it only gets spicier don't you worry, the gaslighting was done with good intentions. I hope you enjoy the final stretch of this game, this is absolute peak fiction.
Mikhail: You took everything from me!
Amalthus: I don’t even know who you are
Is how you sum up Mikhail.
“WHO’S THE BAD GUY ANYMORE?!”
Welp, now you know, you kept wondering about Amalthus the entire game, his motives, his awakening of malos ~~his ability to survive falling from large distances.~~ but now you have your answers, I think your confusion makes the reaction all the better, because you expected him to be the biggest shitbag, and still you go wide eyed, Malos is evil because he adopted Amalthus’s ideals unwillingly, he spread that tragedy to Jin, Jin spread that tragedy to Torna, Torna kept ruining things for us as the player, and it’s Amalthus’s fault, you were right “He’s been manipulating everyone’s lives.” You said before iirc, although it’s more indirect.
Dam Amalthus really on that Naraku/Aizen shit fucking up everybody's lives, heroes and villains alike.
bro this last chapter comin up is hot! ready yourself cause it crazy!
HOOOOYEAAAAAH?!
BEEN WAITING FOR MORE ZEIGABLADE CHRONICLES
I cannot find the words to describe how much I love "ZEIGABLADE CHRONICLES."
Wonderful tombstone engraving for Mikhail.
"Rip Mikhail, you was- Is he dead??? Is he dead??? I don't know..."
I'm rewatching your videos so much XD the editing quality and the game being so good is just peak 💯
I’m glad the videos still hold up😂 thanks!
I love the speedrun strategy for the Amalthus fight being hit him with a knock back effect to send him back into the hole he came out of, resulting in instant death via ring out
Now that you got the story all figured out, I can’t wait to watch you play the Torna DLC!
the xenoblade community never spoils anything its their greatest skill and flaw
God I wonder how the community will handle it once we get to 3.
29:02 fun fact the hole that amalthus made can be used to insta kill him by knocking him down it which is super funny but absolutely ruins the tension and emotion for the battle and what comes after
Alright! lets get to the final act! been looking forward to this for a long time! Can't wait to see your reactions to all the revelations!
This was the first time a game has gotten me to loudly gasp because of it's plot twist. Honestly my most favorite of the ones I've seen.
12:44 it’s taken him many years…but it’s working 😄
God damn it I love this game, glad you're enjoying it too.
9:51 if the fact that Lora's spirit is there not after her physical body being blown up is not proof of mik dying too idk what is
I love how fast you upload Xenoblade currently. I got myself some snacks, can't wait to watch it now!
"If the people I still loved were still around..." AND THEY SHOW MYTHRA IN THE FLASHBACK! SHE'S STILL THERE!!!!
Stoked for the next episode 😆. Warning get some tissues on hand. You might need them
Jin was amazing all the way to the end. I love the characters in this game so much.
26:28 I’m not trying to shame you or anything, but you should change Pandoria’s skin to one that shows her eyes through he glasses. She shows a lot of emotion in just her eyes alone especially as you’re reaching the climax of the story
You know something, until you said that I didn't realize she still had it on
You remember Lady Mayneth in Xenoblade 1? The entity that did a soul transfer to Fiora? Galea is Lady Mayneth.
This....is.....art.
R.I.P. Jin
WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THISSSSSS!!!
Hell yeah. It's time
i NEED the next episode already
25:48 - you can dual wielding if transform Nia to your blade.
Love how I get a tutorial for that at damn near the end of the game lol
@@DeiZeigaI mean... when else? Rex never used a 3 person attack before that point.
33:01 bro I love these videos because I watch the most saddest thing happen and you say something like this and it makes me laugh so hard XD.
36:53 the bame of this track is called the decision
that was the zohar from xenosaga but they couldn't call it the zohar because of copywright reasons
And so, he finally comes full circle.
If you thought what you've seen in this game was crazy, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Okay so basically, Galea became Meyneth the same way Klaus became Zanza
Also, lmao, it's great how fans of this series just universally agree to make new players believe the games are unconnected just for this reveal.
So *this* is tonight’s entertainment!?
Yessir
Always a pleasure.
There's a lot of people who believe the torna dlc was supposed to be the chapter after pyra gets kidnapped by jin
Woulda made perfect sense tbh
I would have played Torna at that point if my upload schedule wasn’t already atrocious 😅
Torna is way longer than one chapter tho. It's at least 2-3 chapters.
I believe that’s when it started to get developed it was meant to be a special chapter to play as Jin to try and flesh out Jins backstory but it e evolved into too big a thing so they turned it into the dlc
Torna side quest simulator would have fit right into your side quest arc
@@technotenor0487 We’d all feel like one big COMMUNITY
So, I put these videos in my watch later list as they appear, and I watch them while going through my list. But after that last one, I just need to watch through the rest of them now.
I didn't see it in the comments, so in case it wasn’t mentioned yet, about Mik's death... In the new game+, at the start of chapter 9, he's weirdly hanging out at the base of the World Tree. Talk to him, and he'll join you as a blade! A really good blade.
