So, to examine powerscaling again: Rex has control over all blades, being the Master Driver. Pyra/Mythra have the ability to make whatever they can imagine become reality. Nia can regenerate almost anything, control over cells, and give cancer instantly to people. Zeke has superstrength and speed, and is able to take falling from insane heights. Malos can destroy atoms on the molecular level, and is equal to Pyra/Mythra's new form without Rex. Finally, for now, Jin can move faster than light and control the elements on a molecular level. The only people from Xenoblade 1 who can match these beings is God Shulk, Alvis, Zanza, and Meyneth. I love you Reyn, but you're not going to be a lifesaver anymore.
While not completely the case yet, Poppi pretty much becomes the most powerful Weapon of Mass Destruction from Alrest (as opposed to Morytha and the World Tree), at least of her gameplay potential was close enough to canon. Meanwhile Morag is: a badass military general and princess, with all the awesome power of a human woman with a pretty strong Blade. (I'm sorry Morag, but you're by far the least special Driver in the team, and that's despite _literally being a princess.)_
"The fear she carries" as a title chapter is so fitting, so appropriate. Not only dealing with Nia's fear at the crucible, but showing that Rex is ready to shoulder Pyra/Mythra's fear and walk alongside them to their journey's completion. Be warned... there is a very important choice coming up immediately in the next episode. Don't make the wrong one.😊
I will say now that we are approaching the end game, there is an alternate title screen if you complete the new game plus of this game. This title screen is animated and has 2 versions the game alternates with, so perhaps after you beat the game you can add at the end your reaction to one of the videos in UA-cam that show both alternate title screens.
I love how they give you your godly power after essentially putting you on the recieving end of said godly power from the previous game (as in, you face Malos with his Monado that is very similar to Shulk's), nice little detail. And it doesn't stop there, can't wait for you to get to 3, that one's god mode is the best of the bunch imo.
@@DeiZeigathe best part about xenoblade is how a lot of things are explained, so you can easily assume that something not explained outright can be explained eventually in at least some way. Even things like how the 7th playable character ended up at the end of Xenoblade. As long as you put faith in the wild ride everything will make sense eventually.

gotta say, after Mythra´s first sleeping incident and her being portrayed as the composed, distant, experienced badass, seeing her freaking out over waking up in Rex´s lap and consecuental worry about her sleeping habits got an endeared chukle from me
so 3 things, 1 when it says you can engage with blade you must do it from rex menu, this means he can use brigid pandoria and dromach, he cannot use poppi tho, speaking of poppi now that your in chapter 8 there should be a heart to heart you can do on the lefterian archipelago, after this go back to toras house for a (really annoying) quest, tho it is worth it trust me, tip 2 i think the game will mention this later but there are 2 interesting things you can do with nia and pnumera (the green form) i think its related to special level 4 with nia as a blade on your loadout, also during chain attacks pnumera hit ALL elemental orbs at the same time, so it will be a good idea to get orbs stacked up first maybe 5-6, will be a good idea to make sure you have blades of different elements on each character to maximise this damage, can make it so bosses 5-10 levels higher then you can be killed at more the half hp its so satisfying, i once got all the order on an ememy and popped them, and 3 get ready to take some notes cause everything is gonna really start coming to a head
So, a couple of things, I really like the title of this chapter, since it's not only related to Pyra/Mythra, but also Nia. They all carry a fear that prevents them from living their best lives and accepting their true selves. Everyone should strive for a Rex in their life, or be the Rex in some else's. It can help save lives, show the beauty in everyone's humanity. This chapter is my 2nd fav in the game, with Chapter 9 being my favorite (You will soon see why). With Pyra/Mythra's goal going to Elysium being revealed, alot of scenes weigh much heavier when rewatching them again, and it explains why she believes she's nothing but a burden to Rex. I'd recommend watching the scene where Rex meets Pyra for the first time at Elysium. Finally, Rex doesn't necessarily want to kill Jin and Malos because he doesn't believe in killing, this will get further explained later on, but in Rex's eyes, there's no real reason to kill them, Jin at least, Malos is different. It's similar to how Shulk learned to forgive and forget in the first game, its better to fully understand someone before deciding their fate. Rex sees that there's more to Jin, which is why he decides not to kill him. Rex believes you can stop somebody, without killing them, which he does quite clearly to Jin in their fight. It's another reason why I like Shulk and Rex as protagonists. They don't believe killing is wrong, more so that killing has to be the true, final choice, when there's none left.
Rex shows everyone a thing or three, by being the actual best kind of protagonist. Also he evolves into a Beyblade, in Future Redeemed, making him even more amazing.

Also i'm not sure you knew this or not but at the pouch item menu (4:10) press X and you can have another pouch item slot for double the pouch item power! They were expansion kits you got thought the journey i think there are 6 in total some from bosses/story others are from chests out in the world. Id look em up if you want everyone to have 2 pouch slots.

Okay, so what you're going to want to do after rounding up the gang is quick-travel back to the Leftherian Archipelago to hunt down a specific Heart-to-Heart. You know you've found the right one when it initiates a conversation between Pyra, Tora and Poppi QT. After completing this, travel back to Tora's house to begin a sidequest called "Powered-Up Poppi." Trust me, you will not regret this~ 🎉🎉🎉
Next chapter’s gonna be a trip. Idk how you’ll feel about Jin, tho (Also, after you get the ability to go anywhere again, be sure to go back and look up a guide to get Poppi’s final form)
Just wanted to say I binged your whole playthrough of this so far and I’m loving it! Reminds me of the first time I played through this games a couple years back. Can’t wait to see an eventual Torna and Xenoblade 3 play through!
I love this game too; it's got such fantastic gameplay, for one thing - there's always something for me to focus on, never a truly dull moment, between Driver and Blade combos (and together, Fusion Combos), setting up elemental orbs using Blade Combos, and launching Chain Attacks when enough orbs are circling the opponent, not to mention healing from enemy attacks or using evade Arts at opportune moments. Personally, I truly believe this has _the best_ combat system of the three games; between the three Blades available at any time, you have nine Arts to select from, using a wide variety of weapon types, and each Blade plays differently even with the same weapons due to their unique set of Blade skills - and since each Driver is an actual individual, how they perform with each weapon type (and thus the effects, animation speed, and stats of Arts) differs between each of them. Compare that with XC1, which is decent - each character has access to far more Arts in battle, especially Shulk, and they each play differently due to being weapon-locked - but has a worse Chain Attack system, and as mentioned the characters are weapon-locked so there's not the same sense of experimentation, seeing which weapon types work well for each fighter or switching weapons on the fly. Or XC3 for that matter, where the characters are almost weapon-locked aside from master Arts and changing their special art, and where giving each character the same weapon (the same class) they all use that weapon identically, so they don't feel anywhere near as distinct as XC2's crew - not to mention the horrible Chain Attack system this time, which is such a step-down from 2's as it's far more luck-based what 'orders' you can pick from and full utilisation is rarely possible (how often can you realistically achieve 200% or higher to reactivate three characters, instead of just one or two?). 3 also restricts dead-character-reviving to Healer classes (or those with a specific accessory), and bases healing potential off a separate stat, so characters dying is much more common; such unnecessary and overly-punishing changes, those. Oh, and I'd even say 2 has the best equipment system of the three, as you can customise so much - change each Driver's accessories (up to 3 each), change their pouch items (up to 2, without save editing to enable a hidden third one that clips off the pouch screen somewhat but is still perfectly usable), change each Blade's Core Chip and Aux Cores, and especially goddamn Poppiswap, and Poppiswap/Aux Cores/accessories all have a stupidly-wide selection of effects available. 1 did have the superior _visual_ customisability, as each armour piece granted a different appearance (which in Definitive would be permanently unlocked upon acquisition, and changed at will with the Appearance mechanic), but had way too many individual stats and only one Gem system, so not nearly as customisable in that aspect. 3...oh, 3. Only 20 Gems available this time, a lot of them with stupidly-awful effects; food no longer has any direct effect in battles; and while there's still 3 accessory slots per character there's no analogue to Core Chips to directly power up weapons - and Arts get stronger every five class levels, up to 20, instead of being freely upgradable a la 1 or 2. Such a humongous letdown from XC2. Story-wise, 1 and 2 are both great in this regard, as they plot their stories quite well, having several twists and turns. 3's story just feels...too short, too compressed, especially with the overly-long string of cutscenes after the party's capture (all I'll say about it), and I don't care quite as much for N as I do for Jin or Malos. Plus, you get all six party members pretty much at the start, instead of them being spread-out and slowly obtained as you explore more of the world - XC1 does this really well, as you don't get the seventh and final member until tens of hours in and at the start of the Mechonis; XC2, meanwhile, leaves you without Zeke until Temperantia, which is similarly deep into that adventure. The Hero system in XC3 feels quite half-baked as well; you can only have one Hero or Heroine out at a time (Riku and Manana count as one unit), and they don't have the same customisability as the main six, not having access to master Arts or being able to change their Gems (for some reason), when 2's Blades offered far more flexibility, and you could have three for each of the three active Drivers. True, there's no gacha system this time, which is a major plus in Hero's favour, but when they're all unlocked...I'd rather pick Blades over Heroes. Oh, and while this isn't _directly_ related to each game's quality, XC2 definitely did get the most post-launch support, the most extra additions compared to the rest. Two extra Blades, a New Game + with enough added content to make it worthwhile, Custom and Bringer of Chaos difficulties, Land of Challenge and the three exclusive 'Blades' to represent 1 and X (with the Monado's vision mechanic and Overdrive), a bunch of added Quests and bugfixes...it definitely feels the most beloved and well-cared-for of the three, especially since Torna: The Golden Country is the most fleshed-out mini-story between it, Future Connected and Future Redeemed as well. So yeah, I was (and still am) very disappointed in XC3, and very appreciative of and grateful for XC2 as a game, as an experience. I love it to bits.
Malos has gotta be one of the funniest characters in the game and it's all because his VA put 110% into every single line he has. Not even sure if it was intentional but it's such a funny performance and a really good one at that
I always come back to this video to see Jin just get absolutely destroyed and to hear your excitement in that moment cause it represents everyone’s feelings in that part 😂
Something else to mention is whenever the villains are about to win, a crazy overpowered character comes into the scene and destroys them. Which you could call lazy writing but the way it is shown in the cutscenes makes up for it and it’s always the best part

Now you know why we said not to use any core crystals on Rex anymore. After all, now he can equip anyone's blades. As others have said, about halfway through this chapter, you will unlock the sidequest for Poppi's final form, the strongest blade in the game (potentially).

So Nia didn't get her crazy turbo healing until she was a flesh eater, aka after her sister already died. Also she COULD have saved Vandahm but was scared to. Also you can still use her as a driver if you want. And notice how Mythra didn't really talk after Rex said he was doing this for them? It's because she doesn't think she's worth saving. Girl needs a hug. Also this is why I was saying to be cautious about putting blades on Rex. Because now he can use them now anyways. Also you're past the point where the swimsuits can spoil you (it reveals Nia's core). Also while I don't think Jin is justified, he is very sympathetic. Man needs a hug. And I almost forgot. Malos might not be zesty. He might just be gay. A lot of people think he's got a thing for Jin. Including his VA. Oh and the writing on the new forms chesticles translates from Greek to spirit. The word in Greek is Pneuma. While it's heavy spoilers if I go into why this is, I will refer to her as Pneuma from here on out
You actually can't get Nia's swimsuit in NG until you see the Chapter 7 spoiler regarding her. It's only in NG+ that you can get it in Chapters 1-6, if you didn't already have it to carry over into NG+.

You’re like one of the only people who just adamantly wants Jin dead, even despite learning the basic gists of his backstory with Lora. You’ll get some more stuff with him in both main story and the DLC (which everyone has already made clear to you), but it’s really funny how you REALLY hate Jin’s guts and want him dead. Fair enough too. At the end of the day, he’s a murderous sociopath that killed a lot of people and yet player’s easily forgive him

Now you can really appreciate just how good the game is though, look back on the first couple chapter of the game and you can see how bad some of the sections are, but this game gets to be one of my favorite of all time by the end, even just in chapter seven, the speech that Rex gives to Pyra and Mythra when they're a husk is phenomenal, both in a writing standpoint and in the way that Al Weaver delivers it. You can really see how much the whole team grew throughout the game Just one more thing to say, you've got a bit to go yet, but anything you want to do in the Praetorium, do it pretty quick. In the later parts of chapter 8 you won't be able to anymore
This game has possibly the most meandering and lukewarm first half I've ever experienced in a JRPG, only to have the craziest and most epic second half. I almost wonder if the annoyances and sluggishness were intentional to sell the theme of the game on a meta level. In the following chapter (Spoilers, I guess), Rex mentions how you have to take the good with the bad and work with what you've got to make things better. It's almost like the game is asking the player to do the same thing with itself.

I may not relive this game for the first time ever again but your reactions have been pretty close to what I first experienced and glad I started since day 1! These next few episodes are about to get so wild!
2 add to this 2 are story fights you can't miss then you have one in the cave where the bandits were when you first got Roc on Rex next one is in Mor Ardain that you ride the gondolas from the NE corner of Alba Cavanich to the first plateau on the right behind a lvl 40 UM then one is in the Fonsett Waters from Godsford Isle you can ride a moving island that goes past 2 stationary floating islands and it is on the 2nd one and the last one that isn't from the story fights is in the Spirit Crucible in the Vault of Heros area
@@DeiZeiga Also Chapter 8 is when Tora ascends to godhood when you do his quest to unlock poppi's final form the indisputable best blade in the entire game so even though I see the issues you have with Tora do it you'll thank us later
BTW the torna dlc was initially supposed to happen at the save screen at the end of the video so it might not be a bad time to play it since some stuff will start to get spoiled about it by the game

Yeah Jin needed some Humbling this episode, even though there is DLC explaining how he got like this, I didn't really care though I at least put him on probation. But Malos, people love to put the excuse on his driver... Na uh, he is responsible for his own actions, I hated him from start to finish (love the VA though)! I usually dislike idiot MCs, but Rex earned so much of my respect that I labelled him the best underrated Xenoblade Protagonist! so 3 things, 1 when it says you can engage with blade you must do it from rex menu, this means he can use brigid pandoria and dromach, he cannot use poppi tho, speaking of poppi now that your in chapter 8 there should be a heart to heart you can do on the lefterian archipelago, after this go back to toras house for a (really annoying) quest, tho it is worth it trust me, tip 2 i think the game will mention this later but there are 2 interesting things you can do with nia and pnumera (the green form) i think its related to special level 4 with nia as a blade on your loadout, also during chain attacks pnumera hit ALL elemental orbs at the same time, so it will be a good idea to get orbs stacked up first maybe 5-6, will be a good idea to make sure you have blades of different elements on each character to maximise this damage, can make it so bosses 5-10 levels higher then you can be killed at more the half hp its so satisfying, i once got all the order on an ememy and popped them, and 3 get ready to take some notes cause everything is gonna really start coming to a head

No matter how many times I hear it, that speech Rex gave to Pyra and Mythra is amazing
So, a couple of things,
I really like the title of this chapter, since it's not only related to Pyra/Mythra, but also Nia. They all carry a fear that prevents them from living their best lives and accepting their true selves. Everyone should strive for a Rex in their life, or be the Rex in some else's. It can help save lives, show the beauty in everyone's humanity. This chapter is my 2nd fav in the game, with Chapter 9 being my favorite (You will soon see why).
With Pyra/Mythra's goal going to Elysium being revealed, alot of scenes weigh much heavier when rewatching them again, and it explains why she believes she's nothing but a burden to Rex. I'd recommend watching the scene where Rex meets Pyra for the first time at Elysium.
Finally, Rex doesn't necessarily want to kill Jin and Malos because he doesn't believe in killing, this will get further explained later on, but in Rex's eyes, there's no real reason to kill them, Jin at least, Malos is different. It's similar to how Shulk learned to forgive and forget in the first game, its better to fully understand someone before deciding their fate. Rex sees that there's more to Jin, which is why he decides not to kill him. Rex believes you can stop somebody, without killing them, which he does quite clearly to Jin in their fight. It's another reason why I like Shulk and Rex as protagonists. They don't believe killing is wrong, more so that killing has to be the true, final choice, when there's none left.
Rex shows everyone a thing or three, by being the actual best kind of protagonist.
Also he evolves into a Beyblade, in Future Redeemed, making him even more amazing.

Also i'm not sure you knew this or not but at the pouch item menu (4:10) press X and you can have another pouch item slot for double the pouch item power! They were expansion kits you got thought the journey i think there are 6 in total some from bosses/story others are from chests out in the world. Id look em up if you want everyone to have 2 pouch slots.

Okay, so what you're going to want to do after rounding up the gang is quick-travel back to the Leftherian Archipelago to hunt down a specific Heart-to-Heart. You know you've found the right one when it initiates a conversation between Pyra, Tora and Poppi QT.
After completing this, travel back to Tora's house to begin a sidequest called "Powered-Up Poppi."
Trust me, you will not regret this~ 🎉🎉🎉

I love this game too; it's got such fantastic gameplay, for one thing - there's always something for me to focus on, never a truly dull moment, between Driver and Blade combos (and together, Fusion Combos), setting up elemental orbs using Blade Combos, and launching Chain Attacks when enough orbs are circling the opponent, not to mention healing from enemy attacks or using evade Arts at opportune moments. Personally, I truly believe this has _the best_ combat system of the three games; between the three Blades available at any time, you have nine Arts to select from, using a wide variety of weapon types, and each Blade plays differently even with the same weapons due to their unique set of Blade skills - and since each Driver is an actual individual, how they perform with each weapon type (and thus the effects, animation speed, and stats of Arts) differs between each of them.
Compare that with XC1, which is decent - each character has access to far more Arts in battle, especially Shulk, and they each play differently due to being weapon-locked - but has a worse Chain Attack system, and as mentioned the characters are weapon-locked so there's not the same sense of experimentation, seeing which weapon types work well for each fighter or switching weapons on the fly.
Or XC3 for that matter, where the characters are almost weapon-locked aside from master Arts and changing their special art, and where giving each character the same weapon (the same class) they all use that weapon identically, so they don't feel anywhere near as distinct as XC2's crew - not to mention the horrible Chain Attack system this time, which is such a step-down from 2's as it's far more luck-based what 'orders' you can pick from and full utilisation is rarely possible (how often can you realistically achieve 200% or higher to reactivate three characters, instead of just one or two?). 3 also restricts dead-character-reviving to Healer classes (or those with a specific accessory), and bases healing potential off a separate stat, so characters dying is much more common; such unnecessary and overly-punishing changes, those.
Oh, and I'd even say 2 has the best equipment system of the three, as you can customise so much - change each Driver's accessories (up to 3 each), change their pouch items (up to 2, without save editing to enable a hidden third one that clips off the pouch screen somewhat but is still perfectly usable), change each Blade's Core Chip and Aux Cores, and especially goddamn Poppiswap, and Poppiswap/Aux Cores/accessories all have a stupidly-wide selection of effects available.
1 did have the superior _visual_ customisability, as each armour piece granted a different appearance (which in Definitive would be permanently unlocked upon acquisition, and changed at will with the Appearance mechanic), but had way too many individual stats and only one Gem system, so not nearly as customisable in that aspect.
3...oh, 3. Only 20 Gems available this time, a lot of them with stupidly-awful effects; food no longer has any direct effect in battles; and while there's still 3 accessory slots per character there's no analogue to Core Chips to directly power up weapons - and Arts get stronger every five class levels, up to 20, instead of being freely upgradable a la 1 or 2. Such a humongous letdown from XC2.
Story-wise, 1 and 2 are both great in this regard, as they plot their stories quite well, having several twists and turns. 3's story just feels...too short, too compressed, especially with the overly-long string of cutscenes after the party's capture (all I'll say about it), and I don't care quite as much for N as I do for Jin or Malos. Plus, you get all six party members pretty much at the start, instead of them being spread-out and slowly obtained as you explore more of the world - XC1 does this really well, as you don't get the seventh and final member until tens of hours in and at the start of the Mechonis; XC2, meanwhile, leaves you without Zeke until Temperantia, which is similarly deep into that adventure.
The Hero system in XC3 feels quite half-baked as well; you can only have one Hero or Heroine out at a time (Riku and Manana count as one unit), and they don't have the same customisability as the main six, not having access to master Arts or being able to change their Gems (for some reason), when 2's Blades offered far more flexibility, and you could have three for each of the three active Drivers. True, there's no gacha system this time, which is a major plus in Hero's favour, but when they're all unlocked...I'd rather pick Blades over Heroes.
Oh, and while this isn't _directly_ related to each game's quality, XC2 definitely did get the most post-launch support, the most extra additions compared to the rest. Two extra Blades, a New Game + with enough added content to make it worthwhile, Custom and Bringer of Chaos difficulties, Land of Challenge and the three exclusive 'Blades' to represent 1 and X (with the Monado's vision mechanic and Overdrive), a bunch of added Quests and bugfixes...it definitely feels the most beloved and well-cared-for of the three, especially since Torna: The Golden Country is the most fleshed-out mini-story between it, Future Connected and Future Redeemed as well.
So yeah, I was (and still am) very disappointed in XC3, and very appreciative of and grateful for XC2 as a game, as an experience. I love it to bits.
Malos has gotta be one of the funniest characters in the game and it's all because his VA put 110% into every single line he has. Not even sure if it was intentional but it's such a funny performance and a really good one at that

Something else to mention is whenever the villains are about to win, a crazy overpowered character comes into the scene and destroys them. Which you could call lazy writing but the way it is shown in the cutscenes makes up for it and it’s always the best part

As others have said, about halfway through this chapter, you will unlock the sidequest for Poppi's final form, the strongest blade in the game (potentially).

Secret Level 4 Special of Pyra and Nia. Get Max Afinity on Pyra and Blade Nia (the golden string connecting driver and Blade)
Then do a Level 4 Special with Pyra or Nia. Its different for both but the element is based on the Blade (Pyra or Nia) you have equipped.

So Nia didn't get her crazy turbo healing until she was a flesh eater, aka after her sister already died. Also she COULD have saved Vandahm but was scared to. Also you can still use her as a driver if you want.
And notice how Mythra didn't really talk after Rex said he was doing this for them? It's because she doesn't think she's worth saving. Girl needs a hug.
Also this is why I was saying to be cautious about putting blades on Rex. Because now he can use them now anyways.

You actually can't get Nia's swimsuit in NG until you see the Chapter 7 spoiler regarding her. It's only in NG+ that you can get it in Chapters 1-6, if you didn't already have it to carry over into NG+.

You’re like one of the only people who just adamantly wants Jin dead, even despite learning the basic gists of his backstory with Lora. You’ll get some more stuff with him in both main story and the DLC (which everyone has already made clear to you), but it’s really funny how you REALLY hate Jin’s guts and want him dead.

Now you can really appreciate just how good the game is though, look back on the first couple chapter of the game and you can see how bad some of the sections are, but this game gets to be one of my favorite of all time by the end, even just in chapter seven, the speech that Rex gives to Pyra and Mythra when they're a husk is phenomenal, both in a writing standpoint and in the way that Al Weaver delivers it. You can really see how much the whole team grew throughout the game
Just one more thing to say, you've got a bit to go yet, but anything you want to do in the Praetorium, do it pretty quick. In the later parts of chapter 8 you won't be able to anymore
This game has possibly the most meandering and lukewarm first half I've ever experienced in a JRPG, only to have the craziest and most epic second half. I almost wonder if the annoyances and sluggishness were intentional to sell the theme of the game on a meta level. In the following chapter (Spoilers, I guess), Rex mentions how you have to take the good with the bad and work with what you've got to make things better. It's almost like the game is asking the player to do the same thing with itself.
But why spoiler the game? It's the same as saying that alcamoth in 1 gets destroyed, not cool

2 add to this 2 are story fights you can't miss then you have one in the cave where the bandits were when you first got Roc on Rex next one is in Mor Ardain that you ride the gondolas from the NE corner of Alba Cavanich to the first plateau on the right behind a lvl 40 UM then one is in the Fonsett Waters from Godsford Isle you can ride a moving island that goes past 2 stationary floating islands and it is on the 2nd one and the last one that isn't from the story fights is in the Spirit Crucible in the Vault of Heros area
@@DeiZeiga Also Chapter 8 is when Tora ascends to godhood when you do his quest to unlock poppi's final form the indisputable best blade in the entire game so even though I see the issues you have with Tora do it you'll thank us later

Yeah Jin needed some Humbling this episode, even though there is DLC explaining how he got like this, I didn't really care though I at least put him on probation. But Malos, people love to put the excuse on his driver... Na uh, he is responsible for his own actions, I hated him from start to finish (love the VA though)!
