Edit: 2 segments were claimed so I muted them D: Also some segments with audio problems from me trying a new thing with fairlight in davinci, noticed too late. sorry for the inconvenience. Edit 2: ITS GETTING RE-RELEASED, PLEASE BUY THIS GAME SO THEY RELEASE MERCH
The First Xenoblade I'm playing is Chronicles 3. So if someone says X is amazing.....then that is an easy question to answer. Of course it is! It looks better than what I'm playing and those Mecha.....oooh yeah 👍 Story is a given.
Such a good video. First, that part where you talked about the threat of the Lost Archives really hit home, during that part of the story. As I am within one of the rare, but with many members, demographics with which some level of that is our reality, starting from generations before, where an outside force properly destroyed it, and basically for any generations after. So that plot point definitely inspired something in me to want to make sure it didn't happen in the game; knowing full well how important that is. Still, the part where you mentioned the games first true plot twist, was what I really I was waiting for. This is the very thing I knew that an Artist can usually only get away with ONCE, but it is a risk to use it. Back, when this game was new, there was some complaint from a good number of existing Xenoblade fans about the new art style. Not as a whole, mind you, but of the somewhat more realistic human designs and their uncanny valley aspects of it. SPOILER WARNING: However, when you mentioned it, it shows that the human designs being that way were done completely on purpose. The payoff of the design happens right there. Right there. It's an entire plot setup, (like with certain other twists, that happen) where the artist puts the massive hint, right in front of your face, and makes you live it for tens of hours. Only then, do you realize the utter brilliance of how all the visual art design and story design comes together to tell something so unique, but making complete sense once the full picture comes into view. END SPOILERS. An Artist, of a series, can usually only ever pull this kind of twist off Once. That's it. Maybe, years later, in a different work, they might be able to do it again; but it would be a very tough sell for the same artist to do again. Not after the audience has seen them do it. No repeat of that idea would land so heavily nor take their audience by such surprise followed by one of the biggest "Oh! I get it! This was...brilliant!" followup reactions. Thing is. Xenoblade Chronicles X has some of the most brilliant and biggest plot twists I've seen in all of Science Fiction. And it does them in layers. One of the things I think Xenoblade Chronicles X does best is what I call the total Mental Refresh of its world. One of the reasons why X could have a player spend over 150 hours in the game and almost feel to the player that they're still like 30 hours in (outside of looking at the clock) is because of how these plot twists completely change the viewers entire look at the world, looking at the world with *different eyes*. None of this is just some game mechanic. The change....is in you, the player. It's your perception that shifts and all of a sudden things make sense in a different way than you thought before, and you even start to mentally approach everything different. From the perspective of a person that is changed. Different than that person before said revelation. This game doesn't do that to you once. It keeps doing it. No game has done that to me before. And I will never ever, forget that unique experience that this game provided me. Involving the reader, or player themselves in the story, to that degree. This was my Never Ending Story-style experience.
Also. I think I can explain that last part of the game. That one final part that you mentioned was confusing or a cliff hanger at the end. I believe I can explain that part and it is what made me fall in love with the whole planet of MIRA. In fact, this is potentially yet another a plot point that is rubbed in your face for many many hours playing this game. Final Spoilers (THIS IS A Spoiler Warning for those who haven't watched the video): Remember being on the planet and seeing what looks like some fantastic and large scale tech jutting out of the planet. Lying almost seemingly dormant from the outside, yet not owned or particularly controlled by any known race of aliens we meet. This highly suggests this is technology, strewn through the planet, by some ancestor race. Ring any bells? We're talking tech on a scale of something even bigger than what we came with in New LA. Thing is, I also took note of that Primordial Ooze like stuff during the last fight in the Ark. How it can be used to form the bodies of various earth creatures. The plan to get the human race back in human bodies. Then I started to think about all the creatures we encountered on the planet, from the first incredibly large Brontosaurus creature we encountered in Primordia. The other similar creatures that share some semblance to our creatures on Earth, almost in a similar pattern. It was then when the whole aspect came to me. The method of life creation and the idea of stored conciousness. It's not a new thing at all. This was mastered by an highly intelligent Ancestor race who has done all of this before. Even enough to create what is basically a Genesis project. Enough to survive long enough to evolve to the human beings of the now. Elma wasn't just jump starting the knowledge of tech for the Human race to survive. She was giving the human race back some of the knowledge her race has learned from Ancestral Races such as the one humans were, in this story, descendants of. It was then when I was convinced that the moment our Ark crashed, the conciousness stored on our ARK, and all life impacted on it, got recorded by the largest Ark we've ever newly encountered. The planet itself. All that jutting tech, weaving in and out of the planet. It's a huge ancient ARK system creating and sustaining all life on the planet as sort of an earlier example or experiment prior to life on Earth. When going back to play more of the game, after end game, that was my final realization and when I didn't just see the humans as different, I saw every single life we encountered on the planet, with a final set of brand new eyes.
This video popped up in my recommended shortly after the remaster got announced, and as a huge fan of this game out of a series I love, everybody listen to this video and give X a shot. It went sorely overlooked because of the console it initially released on.
Thanks for coming bye and I hope you liked this! I absolutely agree btw it's amazing and the wii u was an absolute trap for this game and so many others
out of all the Xeno games; X is the one that’s stuck with me the most. The fun and beautiful world to explore, the class system, the actually great side quests, the amazing combat, and an actually interesting plot thot NEEDS to be continued lol
Xenoblade Chronicles X lets you _control_ the worldbuilding. It's possible (if not really hard) to beat the game by doing only the bare minimum sidequests. You can just run through the story. But the growth of the world is in the side quests. Especially getting new aliens to join the city. One of the features I love the most is that after you get an alien to join, if you do sidequests that feature that particular alien more of said alien begin to show up in the city. It's a visible addition to the environment. Meaning your actions literally allow you to grow the world at the pace you like. The same happens with Skells. The more Skell based missions you do the more Skells appear in the city and outside world. It's an amazing feature, to literally control the world-building instead of letting the story do it. And with the theme of exploration the game gives you essentially get to customize your own experience. Just like you can customize your character, your gear, and your skells, you also get to customize the world at large and I don't think most open-worlds do that as well as X does. It's why I'm begging for a sequel, or at least a remaster on the Switch. This game, despite any flaws, nailed what it was going for. A cool sci-fi romp where you are on an alien planet and have to slowly unlock its secrets.
Yeaaah, you got to see some Orpheans in the hanger bay with all the skells alongside some Ma-non as you add in more Xenos to the community. Was giving me great Mass Effect vibes with how you're slowly growing and building up a broad community as you pioneer a new home
One thing you didn't touch on was just how GOOD it feels to navigate the world. Anime run speed, big momentum jumps, superhero landings with NO fall damage... just running around the world is a blast. In XBC1 and 2 (didn't play 3), the giant plains and mountains felt like a big setpiece that quickly became tedious to move across, even with fast travel. In X, I used to routinely run from one side of the map to the other, neglecting fast travel entirely. Mira is a wonderland.
I can certainly agree. Despite the size of Mira, I often found myself running, driving, or flying rather than using fast travel. I believe it had to do with the overall comfort of travel. I like to avoid using fast travel in open world games, and XCX is one of those games that makes that decision such a joy. Typical obstacles like mountains had multiple methods of getting around, including over and sometimes through. The weather itself could sometimes feel like an obstacle you had to plan for. And then there’s the music. Each continent has its own music. While Primordia’s feels a little basic, sometimes even boring, that fits the relatively familiar environment. Noctilum’s music does well to give the feeling of traveling through the wilderness, strange creatures lurking just out of sight. Oblivia’s theme sounds hostile, much like the environment itself. Cauldros’ theme is harsh and aggressive, while also sounding more synthetic to denote the larger Ganglion presence. And Sylvalum? I won’t explain Sylvalum’s theme. Instead, I invite anyone curious to listen to it. It’s in this video, and it’s probably my favorite one. Even the Collectibles do well to add to environment and build up the world. The Collectibles aren’t just plants and rocks. Some of them are animals. Ones small enough to be caught rather than killed, such as insects and squirrels. These provide a better understanding of how Mira’s ecosystem might work, and certainly provides a good deal of perspective on how humanity might survive-and indeed, flourish-in their new home. There’s even technology from various xenos, such as the Nopon, and the descriptions give some insight into other cultures. I absolutely love Mira. There’s just something about this planet, you know?
XCX shows so little but reveals a lot. The story does not lie in what is illuminated before us, but in the shadows surrounding them. You creating your character is you, a stored consciousness in another world, choosing your mimeosome. There's no heal Art, but there's one called Repair. There's no poison condition, just Virus. And the collectibles are reflections of the NPCs themselves, from the naming, the descriptions, attempts to figure out their use (Scales of Justice and Mirror of Deception are particularly funny). There are also toy shops, but no kids. Adults can't reproduce either. So much could be supposed from these details. Not all of these are shoved down our throat. XCX exploration and discovery is not limited to the physical world, but also the narrative. And this is why, as someone who doesn't say "immersive" a lot either, the game definitely deserves that tag and a remake and a sequel. XC3's DLC ending sure gives us a lot of hope tho.
Xenoblade X is still to this day the most "alien" alien world I've experienced in a game. Most other series might have convincing alien creatures but a world that just emulates environments were familiar with from our own world. Like Anthem, with a budget of "yes", just gave us a rain forest planet.
I think Mira actually strikes a nice balance. Primordia and Oblivia have some alien elements, but they could also pass for a savannah and a desert on Earth if you don't look too closely. Noctilum and Cauldros are alien, but are made out of familiar parts. And then Sylvalum is just so amazingly weird that the brain actually struggles to process it. Like, there's a natural inclination to try to interpret it as a snowy arctic environment, but the more you learn, the more you realize that it absolutely is not that.
X is my favorite Xeno game. Black Tar, Uncontrollable, Wir Fleigen, and No Worries have always been my top played songs on UA-cam every year since X's release. I'm 100% gonna be playing the hell outta X when it hits Switch next year!
The NLA themes are so grating that they wrapped around to being absolute jams every time I go back to this game. UNIRONICALLY Love them. I do not need help.
I really enjoyed X. Hope they bring it to the switch 2 with some big ole QoL updates. Mostly involving skells, party switching, fast travel loading time, and the ability to ultrahand Tatsu to a homemade rocket and send him to space.
11:15 Fun fact, Monolith Soft was actually brought in to help craft Breath of the Wild's open world, specifically because they had just come off making a huge hand-crafted open world work on the Wii U with Xenoblade X.
X was my first Xenoblade game and it managed to rope me in completely. It was odd too, somehow one had managed to go under my radar even with its rerelease on the 3DS. It opened my eyes to this amazing open world that was bursting with fun characters and a tense narrative. The charm of different races that came to inhabit NLA, the first time you fly in a skell, and those moments of busting out overdrive because you knew it's the only way you MIGHT have a chance to win are all things that are burned into my mind. Even that dinky little pizza place that's downtown, it sticks in my head fondly.
I hope future xenoblade bring back the vertically in the world, at first flight may just seem like a way to travel but it actually shapes the way the world is designed.
For the insurance you actually understood it wrong you hit the Soul Challenge perfectly when your Skell is destroyed, your insurance will not drop by 1 point. You also have all of your secondary cooldowns filled. If you only hit good, you will lose 1 insurance point, and you simply escape unscathed during the battle. If you miss the Soul Challenge you lose insurance, and you also get reduced to 1 HP. Note that if you have 0 insurance left, you don't have any insurance at all any more, so it doesn't matter if you hit the Soul Challenge perfectly or not - your insurance aren't covering the repairs, you need to pay for it yourself or use a Salvage Ticket. Once you reach 0 insurance, consider unequipping the Skell, selling it and buying the same model Skell again. This costs around 25% of the cost of the Skell, but gets your insurance back - instead of risking paying the entire cost of the Skell (or a Salvage Ticket) every time your Skell is destroyed
He hates the NLA themes though. Just shows he's a complete rookie at this game and hasn't played it enough (other than the fact that he thinks he needs a healer. In XC1 and XCX using a dedicated healer is pointless).
Honestly this game is better than 2 to me, I invested so much time in this game. Imagine if they remastered this like they did 1. Edit: Dreams do come true! 😁
The reason why Uncontrollable has more views than the number of people who bought the game is mostly because of Death Battle. In the episode where Digimon fights Pokémon Uncontrollable is used as the song for the finale where War Greymon finally brutally kills Mega Charizard and Red. Technically Uncontrollable should have a lot more views because of that but Death Battle doesn’t credit the song for some reason and most people who watched that video never find the song. Uncontrollable is also the only Xenoblade X song that appears in Xenoblade 2 with the Elma dlc so it got some more views from that.
God, this made me so nostalgic. I followed the marketing of this game since the reveal of the game back in Jan 2013. And it was one I really, really, REALLY wanted to play. But I didn't own a Wii U, so I had to resort to just watching the cutscenes on UA-cam once the global version released. Despite that, the game's narrative left such a deep impression on me. While I've consumed stuff like Star Wars media before, X is what really got me into sci fi, and introduced me to many concepts used in the genre. And it was my introduction to mecha. It also got me into Xenoblade, overall. I watched the cutscenes for 1 on yt a few months before I watched the X cutscenes, and while I certainly enjoyed 1's story, I became more invested in X. And I still remember my reactions to some of the big twists in that game, as well as some of the themes of the game really intriguing me. Elma in particular left an impression on me with her AWESOME mem design. To this day, she's still one of the coolest characters I've ever seen. And the music, GOD I LOVE THE MUSIC!! Some of the songs I revisit pretty often. Since then, Xeno has become my favorite media franchise of all time ( tied with Kingdom Hearts and The World Ends With You anyway ), and I've managed to play 1, 2, and 3, with 2 being my absolute favorite in the series, and one of my favorite games ever, period. These games have really affected me both as a creative, and as a person. Watching this made me so nostalgic, even though there were details I had forgotten about. It has been a few years since I last watched those cutscenes. And I'm glad to hear that you had a positive time with this game. Maybe one day, I'll finally play it myself ( please be on the next console ) I also appreciate how constructive this video was, because there are some views on this game by the general fandom that are not as constructive, if at all ( especially from the 1 elitists ) I love Xeno, but some parts of the general fandom drive me crazy. Also: I believe Elma's xeno form is meant to be resemble KOS MOS from Xenosaga. I haven't had any experience with those games yet, but the parallels are pretty interesting ( especially since Saga might be more tied to Blade than we think )
Mira is probably my favorite game world, followed by XC2's Alrest, BotW/TotK's Hyrule, and Trails/Kiseki's Zemuria. Monolithsoft just made the game so fun fun to run around in and explore, I just love being able to skyrim my way up to places I really shouldn't be able to. The story is kind of mid, unfortunately, and I blame all the content they needed to cut for that, but the sidquests are generally pretty good and the Lore is actually very interesting.
Xenogears is my favorite RPG next to FF7 - played them both on Release. I have a Switch but never played the Xeno series. Your enthusiasm made me rethink my decisions :)
@harmen9598 same I play Xenogears first ever Xeno series game I ever play and I wish I could have got to experience Xenosaga series nows a good time to get Xenoblade Chronicles 1 on switch
Xenoblade Cross (X) is the best Xeno game period because it's not a word salad of Jungian psychology, Nietzschian philosophy, Art Bells ancient astronauts, Cloud Atlas reincarnation, religious overtones, and Titanic musical instrument rip offs, but instead has a much more polished and simplified story that gets the point across and is dictated by exploration. This game also has an edge, grit, and attitude to it which is something every other Xeno game clearly lacks, nevermind the music by Sawano which just adds spikes on those already well protected shoulder pads that Cross already wears
X released in 2015 while Xenoblade 1 came out in 2010 (or 11). I write this because I understood "2013". I'm someone who played this game on day 1 and loved it every since. Got so engrossed that I didn't stop playing until I reached that 100% mark. Too bad so many people didn't even care to give it a chance.
@@MalcadorGaming That's going to be a bit more difficult going forward, haha. Also, most people didn't give it a chance because it was a Wii U exclusive. And we all know how that console did, financially.
@@GamePlayuh9510As someone who had a WiiU from the start, nostalgiablindness for Xenoblade 1 was also a big factor. "It is not a sequel to 1? Don't want it". By the time I went off my high horse, official sales were dead and online shutdown was announced. I will have to wait until the fanservers are done, because I don't want to play an incomplete experience.
Great video, love X! Hope we get a definitive edition early next year on Switch 2. Would be shame to essentially get the same version performance wise after all this time if its gets announced now... Also I think its pretty likely we'll get a sequel, in the Xenoblade 2 OST interview (3 years after X's release) the producer said he wanted to get back the X series sometime after 3. (source xenomira blog translation)
This video has me wanting to figure out on how to play the game for myself. It's nice to see such high quality video done on a game often forgotten about within the Xenoblade series discussion.
The best open world game imo The story leaves a ton of things open but I think we are in for a surprise when they finally connect it to the main series.
Note: this comment is in two LONG sections - Part One: my recommendations of games equally as amazing as this one (which I recommend to people the most of all), short thoughts on the game itself + the context for how I came to play & complete it - the second part (demarcated by a border line after Part One) is my further thoughts on the game PLUS where I agree with this video! Skip to past the line of ==== to see thoughts on the Video + the game itself in full…otherwise, ENJOY! Part One: Xenoblade Chronicles X is probably the game I’ve recommended to anyone who would listen to my ramblings THE MOST with: - Shin Megami Tensei [III]: Nocturne (2003) - NieR (2010) [Gestalt on 360 in Japan/ base game outside of JP until 2021] - Star Ocean First Departure R [Remake of the original Star Ocean; 2008 on PSP & 2019 on PS4/Xbox One/PC] - Star Ocean The Second Story R [remake of SOtSS on PSX originally released in 1999; 2009 on PSP & 2023 on PS4/ Xbox One/ PC/ Switch] - Star Ocean: Till the End of Time [2004 exclusively on PS2; 2017 “HD Re-Release” on PS4], a game so reviled by fans of the first two games of the series that it’s written off COMPLETELY by both that segment of the fandom AND by Tri-Ace (for the most part)…but beloved by people who have completely finished it on Galaxy/Universe/4D Difficulty and found interesting connections with its (extremely controversial) Plot Twist and the story of the game itself and its many minor characters! I fall into the latter category and also think The Last Hope is an excellent game as well! Speaking of… - Star Ocean: The Last Hope (aka Star Ocean 0: rigin) [originally an Xbox 360 Exclusive in 2009 but got an “International Edition” on PS3 in 2010; HD Remasters of the “International Edition” for PS4/ Xbox One/ PC in 2017!] - Drakengard 1 (2003) + 3 (2014) - Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE [Encore on the Switch re-release], the then-long-awaited but “disappointing” collaboration of Atlus’s Megami Tensei series & Intelligent System’s Fire Emblem that plays like the former but looks more like the latter; absolutely unforgettable & underrated GEM! …among XCX as excellent games that are worth everyone’s time! I personally had it on my radar as far back as its release in 2015, but found having to buy a Wii U to be excessive & costly. This, for the most part, is why I feel like this game floundered despite its premise and its absolutely incredible visuals and game world! Fast forward to 2021, my best friend offloaded his Wii U to me so that I could finally play the game and enjoy whatever other games he had like Sm4sh, Arkham City [ARMORED Edition] & Arkham Origins…and to “keep it in the family”, so to speak. I looked at the “How Long To Beat” page of the game, watched videos about peoples’s experiences with playing through such a looooooong game and told myself… “If I can make it through this absolutely grindy and at-times tedious JRPG with my brain & sanity intact, maybe I can make it through the next 3-4 years of getting completely sober!” At the time, I was struggling with addiction to Fentanyl & Oxcodone and very nearly dead during the 8 years of addiction that stole my 20s from me. The same week I got the game and the Wii U from my best friend, I started a regiment of Suboxone and began Treatment at an In-Patient Counseling Center/Support Group for similar people like myself. I looked at all the free time I would then have for myself and began pouring it all into whatever games I have on my bucket list to finish before I began with “being a real grown adult” once the years long treatment for addiction was over and began with this MONSTER of a game! It took me 5 months of playing daily for 5-16 hours a day, but after 750 Hours + lots of Online Play (which is amazing in this game) + Co-Op experiences + fun with Skells + 100s of hours of grinding for 100s of one or two types of Materials…I completed it a few days after New Years 2022 (began in early August 2021) and was so extremely happy that I very nearly started another profile just to do it all over again! 😂😂😂 Glad I didn’t because that began my long journey through my Backlog of games and my proselytizing of said Backlog that every gamer has AND ABSOLUTELY SHOULD FOCUS ON MORE THAN NEW GAMES! I thank MonolithSoft and Nintendo for making it possible…and if it never makes it to the Switch? Even better! The Switch could not ever COME CLOSE to replicating such a special title or its experience as a game. MonolithSoft should, however, find means of making it for other platforms in order to make more people able to enjoy it. Just not the Switch because it’s just a glorified Baby’s Tablet with motion control Controllers and crappy everything else… ==================================================================PART=====TWO===============THOUGHTS====ON================THE=====VIDEO=====AND=====XENOBLADE=====CHRONICLES===X EDIT: after actually watching through the Video, I found myself agreeing with many of your points! For starters, the OST is easily one of the best I’ve heard in some time thanks to the Composer’s indelible ability to not just compose music for Anime (where he’s best known) and just gameplay in general! In particular, the Squad Menu theme [Melancholia] is still a track I listen to on the regular while out and about due to its EPIC mix of Anime Theme Song + Nu-Metal Cheese + the Session Rapper just spitting some corny yet awesome bars + a female vocalist just GETTING REALLY INTO THE SONG! Melancholia, Unstoppable [the “Tyrant” (aka “Boss-level Enemies) Theme Song], Don’t Worry [the “Skell Flying Theme”], and The Key We Lost [(Spoiler)’s Theme] in particular are worthy of ANY playlist! Fun Fact from my playthrough: the first time I took flight in the Skell, after 400 hours of running around on-foot [and 150 hours of those in the Skell w/o the Flight Module], the “Flying Song” started playing and I immediately put down the GamePad and zoned out because it was SO EFFING SURREAL to just…hear a J-Pop song BLARING through the speakers of your TV and especially your GamePad 😂 In terms of Combat, the OverDrive mechanic is easily a Top 5 of all time in terms of Combat in a JRPG imo and while it’s hard to master…pulling off a long chain with a character like Elma, Nagi [pronounced Nuh-Guy btw], and especially Yelv (a walking XCX 2 hint) is just pure bliss! It’s not as intuitive as the Chain Combos in XC:DE or even how they did combat in totality in XC2, but it’s in a league of its own once you get it down pat. Skell Combat is especially amazing if you’re into Turn-Based Combat! I likened it to a more version of what XenoGears (the original game in the “Xeno” franchise from 1998; made under Squaresoft originally as the potential FF VII until Takahashi got the OK to make it his own IP) did. The sky truly is THE LIMIT when it comes to the Skells and what they can achieve Combat-Wise with them, which is why I’m also disappointed it’s taking SOOOOO LONG for them to finally pull the trigger and make a Sequel. Maybe even actually finally tying it into the first 3 Xenoblade Chronicles games and y extension XenoSaga (if the hints/leaks of upcoming Remakes are any indication…) would substantially help their chances at getting it to the same level of prominence that XC1-3 have! Thank Y’all for coming to my TED Talk!
That first trailer you played was huge nostalgia. Was a big fan of the first game and then when I saw that trailer at e3 damn. I remember the day X came out and I got the special edition delivered (the 6 month wait after the japanese version was agonising!!) and I literally ran home from the bus stop to play it. Also bruh, NLA DAY IS PEAK!!
I honestly tried my best to get into X but I struggled with the really small font size. I hope that whenever this game gets rereleased they address it.
Great video Xenoblade X was actually my first Xenoblade game although it didn't get me into the series that wouldn't be until later with Xenoblade 2 and DE and I need to go back to play X again not that I am an extremely huge Xeno fan Also at 23:54 that Fear and Hunger coin flip edit out of the blue gave me a jumpscare because I am playing Fear and Hunger 2 right now as I was watching this video 😭
X is totally worth going for after oe even during the series. And me too! I'm just waiting for the next update since I've played so much termina already
Like you, jrpg's definitely formed the foundation of my love for video games in general. Specifically, it was ff7 which introduced me to the genre back in '97, and also like you, xbc got me back into the genre after falling into a mass effect rabbit hole for years. Ive wanted to play xcx so much recently, but with nintendo cracking down on roms/emulators, and unless they release a switch port, i dont see it happening unfortunately.
Fun video, it was cool to revisit this game I played almost a decade ago and remember really enjoying despite hardly understanding it lol! As a small tip, maybe you should consider muting the video while talking, lots of parts are very hard to hear due to the characters talking or the in-game music being too loud... Some cuts feel very abrupt and loud too, might be worth looking into! Even though a second game will probably never be made, I actually quite love that open ending about the planet keeping everyone alive and allowing them to communicate, it makes the whole game feel so... Well, ALIEN, and I kinda love that, it's constantly shifting your perspective, what you're fighting for, what you believe in, and that final twist, regardless of how much it stings that it feels like cut content/sequelbait for a sequel that'll never come to be, it also feels perfectly in line with everything else
I was coming back from YGO locals (time zones) on the Tuesday night and during the drive my friend mentioned wanting to play some games and I told him to just emulate xeno x for the meme since he was also feeling nostalgic. DURING THE MIDDLE OF THE DRIVE THE REVEAL HAPPENED AND WE DIDNT REALISE UNTIL WE WERE BOTH HOME. Best day as a gamer for me long live xeno x
We need this on Switch ASAP. I'll buy two. Also, I wish the story quests weren't gated behind menial ones. Weird to stumble upon a huge lifehold and not be able to interact with it in any way until the story quest is active.
For the record, there is five minutes of me screaming that didn't make it here. The Malcador audience has been spared, and instead has a great, intelligent video.
This is my all-time favorite game. I am getting choked up by getting to the end of this video and remembering everything I felt while playing. I remember I was going to stream it but I lost my internet for an entire week. So I played in this game for 13 to 15 hours straight every single day for a week and a half. Similar to their consciousness is being somewhere else. All of my conscious Moments for that entire time. Where in the world of Mira
I thought this is the best game by far because the fantasy Aesthetic of the other games is getting boring to me and the voice acting makes it 100% unplayable with all of the random accents combining together. I have spent hours just walking around all of the houses and yards and backyards of the neighborhood In New La Just imagining what life would be like there. Elma is also one of my favorite characters. She was so cool and it was kind of a shame that It felt weird leading the team when you play as the created character even though Elma is the captian. I tried playing as her two and controlling her as my main character but it still felt weird having the random person that I created just following along too. I miss this world so much and I really wish I could replay it in a sort of first person mode and experience the world in VR. Thank you for making this video and taking me back on a journey.
Xenoblade X was supposed to have multiple planets and a structure similar to the World Tree on Mira, so I guess they replaced Mira with Alrest and a potential Earth visit with...Earth... Additionally in 2 Klaus did use Pneuma and Logos to re create life in a similar way as you might have tried in X. So unfortunately , X 2 is probably pretty impossible to make without rehashing Xenoblade 2 and 3 in some way.
I watch every Nintendo Direct with bated breath, maybe one day they will announce my favorite WiiU game getting a port… maybe one day… 😢 BEST SOUNDTRACK OF ALL TIME. NLA NIGHT THEME FTW!
Awesome video, really enjoyed it. I was a bit confused about the muted parts but since i gained the ability to read it wasnt a problem. Im really looking forward to the definitve edition coming in march
Cross (X) is a much more adult like game with a much more shall I say realistic story for Takahashi as opposed to that or those "other" games. Long gone are Art Bell's ancient astronauts and their Zohar modifier which makes contact with Abel creating Elehayym in Kadomony only to be overtaken by Dues trapping the wave existence which then creates Myyah making her the mother of humanity who then creates Emperor Cain and the Gazel Ministry who then chase after Abel and Elly who will be constantly reincarnated over a 10,000 year period. Oh and Fei has 3 different personalities and Karellen is a nihilist (nothing against nihilism btw). Well so much for that; anyways Xenoblade Cross has none of these word salads and gets its entire point across through exploration while demonstrating attitude and grit through its characters, atmosphere, and of course music. This is the best Xeno game and Takahashi's true magnum opus that no one got to play due to it being on a system that had already put nearly both its feet in the grave. Hopefully soon enough, his masterpiece will be rereleased for everyone to experience because like the old saying goes, "everyone deserves a second chance" right?
Bruh, NLA themes SLAP! Tf you meeean?? 😂😂😂 No, I am kidding. I can definitely see why a lot of people hate them, but I LOVE them personally. They have SO much energy, spunk, and downright silliness, and I looove it 😂 It's great. I am personally not into soft, mid to slow songs, idc how beautifully orchestrated or well sung it is.
I still have stuff to do in it so yes I need to play For the alien knowing the game it may be due to the fact that ALL the alien are humans made. Its the case of the Zabugon and Luxar spices it's true. Also if X is canon to xenosaga and xenoblade trilogies then the fact Xenoblade x get Alien life contradict xenosaga "only human life" unless they were biological artificial creatures. As for the fauna it's still stands because it's a lot like earth creatures.
When I was kid playing this game. It blew my mind. I stopped playing all my other wii games like Sonic Colors, Smash, and others. The story, world, characters, the music. 😊
Loved this video essay. Well done. As a heads up a couple segments were muted, and a few times you spoke right as dialogue was being spoken in the cutscene playing behind you which made it hard to understand your words. Hope this helps and keep up the great work. I played this when I was about 15 and the day night themes still play in my head rent free to this day. Love this game and wish more people could experience it.
The Crazy thing is that you can actually play the game in multiple ways as well. I played one time where I tried to do all the sidequests. Then I did another playthrough where I tried to kill all superbosses which threw me in pretty hard into the online componenets to farm for the best Skells and stuff like that. Also that twist in chapter 5 is one of my favorite twists of all time in any game, it's just brilliant.
I know I'm 6 months late, but 16:32: If you want your characters to have less ridiculous outfits, put the outfir you want them to wear (their default outfit if nothing else) in their fashion gear slots. They'll appear to wear the fashion gear while still getting the stats from their ground gear. Fashion gear is one of the best equipment mechanics and more games should adopt it.
It also explains overdrive mechanics and the color combinations for alternate debuffs/buffs/healing. You can even extend overdrive by chaining one green art into a blue art for added time based on the number in the center clock.
Guy makes a xenoblade x video and dont mention running around noctilum with that epic song haha though i havent played this game since the wii u. I been holding on to the hopes it be remade someday. My favorite xeno game. Though I admit the story was lacking for me, the world and how alive it felt had me so invested. Great video, i love to see more people talk about this game. In hopes we might see a continuation. I enjoy it a lot better than the main line chronicles.
you forgot to mention the totally asinine insurance mechanic where, if you perfect the QTE before the skell dies, you DONT spend insurance, and that your party members dont worry about that, and that you NEVER want to let your insurance reach 0 or itll break for good regardless of your QTE hit.
Great video! There were a couple moments the game audio overpowered your voice so I couldn’t tell what you were saying, though. IIRC one of those was when Lao escaped NLA with important data. Overall, I still really enjoyed listening to you talk about XCX.
Duuuude play shin megami tensei 5 literally one of the best exclusives the switch has EVER gotten. My first SMT game and I fell in LOVE same way I fell in love with XB2 which is my first XBC game
This game was so friggin awesome! I had never played another Xenoblades game and was SO disappointed when I did! The mechs were killer, the world was beautiful. And the way they actually took advantage of the WiiU gamepad was utterly remarkable! I fully believe if more companies had used it like that, like it was meant to be, the WiiU would have been so much more successful. Unfortunately, because of that, I doubt we'll ever se e a remaster. Which is unfortunate because even though you can still play the game, the real post game content with the world bosses and such are inaccessible now. Still, though, I actually just got my WiiU back out so I could play this game all over again. Maybe this time I'll try one of those super builds I see everywhere.
My hope is that like Chronicles 1 on switch getting the graphical boost that allowed the creators to make it look like how they wanted it too initially, they’ll do the same for Chronicles X on Switch 2.
@@MalcadorGaming yeah but I’ll take the anime look of the remake over the original blurry look any way. And I mostly mean performance wise for X. Perhaps a denser New L.A. More environmental effects because it was beautiful already on the WiiU. Better models for homes and cars in New L.A. Would be nice. Anime looking characters? I wouldn’t be bothered.
@@MalcadorGaming Clearly they were trying some form of aniem look on the Wii already, but because of the detailed world and graphics, they could not get enough from the relatively weak Wii to also do the anime look justice on the character designs and faces, thus it ended up with what we got, which people end up seeing as its own unique design.
My 3 favorite songs are Wir fliegen hypes me up when fighting tyrants. Silvalum Night time brings me to tears every time. Melancholia honestly wish it was not only in the squad selection cause its amazing. Honorable mention goes to Don't Worry even tho i know some ppl really don't like it.
13:29 - I'm definitely one of those who loves the NLA day theme, even with the samples, and ESPECIALLY in the section highlighted here. The night theme is weird, but it didn't end up bothering me at all somehow, lol.
I played this game for over 300 hours almost a decade ago and I loved it, but I never even finished it. I could easily spend 30 hours of exploration between chapters and it felt like a breeze. To this day I dislike how it wasn't even mentioned in the Game Awards (neither 2014 nor 2015's editions).
@@MalcadorGaming Yeah. It is made much worse after the fact. Could the drop rates at least be adjusted post-game as an unlockable or last patch? The Skells and what little customization I had was what made me love this game. I wished any HD Port would go harder with that and maybe bring back some features or add more to better make use of this.
Hope you all enjoyed something different from me! I covered a bunch of stuff and left enough for you to find something to discover still so i hope ya check x out yourself!
Nah i need a bigger gun
Wow, great deep dive into this amazing game. Loved Xeno X. We need a remaster on Nintendo's Next System. Great job on this video 🔥🔥🔥
SPOILER WARNING:
However, when you mentioned it, it shows that the human designs being that way were done completely on purpose.
Final Spoilers (THIS IS A Spoiler Warning for those who haven't watched the video):
Remember being on the planet and seeing what looks like some fantastic and large scale tech jutting out of the planet.
Another ally for the cult of X. Blessings upon you
You too!
out of all the Xeno games; X is the one that’s stuck with me the most. The fun and beautiful world to explore, the class system, the actually great side quests, the amazing combat, and an actually interesting plot thot NEEDS to be continued lol
If I Don't ever see this plot continued I will snap
The exploration peaked with X due to the use of Skells and verticality for exploration.
@@ZX-Gear honestly, even before the skells; having a properly working jump and sprint button made exploring work so much better.
tf you mean "actually interesting" I liked it too but it's not like the other Xeno games fall short there
@@mythosinfinite6736 was referring to how the consensus was that the story was not interesting, wasn’t a shot at the numbered titles?
Wow never knew that. I can't wait to play this. Only issue is I can't get cemu to work smh
Yeaaah, you got to see some Orpheans in the hanger bay with all the skells alongside some Ma-non as you add in more Xenos to the community. Was giving me great Mass Effect vibes with how you're slowly growing and building up a broad community as you pioneer a new home
Well its on Switch
Well do I have news for you

Come for Skells, stay for Overdrive. Getting overdrive up full time during boss fights really clicks this game into place in a way the others didn't.
Overdrive and skells definitely make this feel unique
Well now we’ll get an answer to those cliffhangers
If not I'll riot
I do not need help.
yea they’re bangers to me aswell, no shame
I really enjoyed X. Hope they bring it to the switch 2 with some big ole QoL updates. Mostly involving skells, party switching, fast travel loading time, and the ability to ultrahand Tatsu to a homemade rocket and send him to space.
I put over 900 hours into Xenoblade X... The game never felt like a grind...
11:15 Fun fact, Monolith Soft was actually brought in to help craft Breath of the Wild's open world, specifically because they had just come off making a huge hand-crafted open world work on the Wii U with Xenoblade X.
Not being able to control the music volume is a huge oversight...the rest is a masterpiece of story and exploration
i cant believe i forgot about that, i got so used to the mixing i forgot
For the insurance you actually understood it wrong you hit the Soul Challenge perfectly when your Skell is destroyed, your insurance will not drop by
1 point. You also have all of your secondary cooldowns filled. If you only hit good, you will lose 1
insurance point, and you simply escape unscathed during the battle. If you miss the Soul Challenge you
lose insurance, and you also get reduced to 1 HP.
Note that if you have 0 insurance left, you don't have any insurance at all any more, so it doesn't matter
if you hit the Soul Challenge perfectly or not - your insurance aren't covering the repairs, you need to
pay for it yourself or use a Salvage Ticket. Once you reach 0 insurance, consider unequipping the Skell,
selling it and buying the same model Skell again. This costs around 25% of the cost of the Skell, but
gets your insurance back - instead of risking paying the entire cost of the Skell (or a Salvage Ticket)
every time your Skell is destroyed

I'm glad you enjoyed!

Oh yea that's not surprising especially since it's a good song. Just funny to me when ya think about ut
That video has a wild comment section if you sort by recent.

Maybe one day, I'll finally play it myself ( please be on the next console )
I also appreciate how constructive this video was, because there are some views on this game by the general fandom that are not as constructive, if at all ( especially from the 1 elitists ) I love Xeno, but some parts of the general fandom drive me crazy.
It's something about this planet indeed...
Xenoblade Chronicles X is how I got into the Xenoblade series!

I hope more people give it a chance
I hope that happens!
If he does, I hope he goes right into the cut content that made us so intrigued and even gives us more mysteries to fry our brains over.

It's definitely Takahashi's magnum opus and it's really not all that close despite what the gear heads or saga freaks might say
This video has me wanting to figure out on how to play the game for myself. It's nice to see such high quality video done on a game often forgotten about within the Xenoblade series discussion.
I'm glad you liked it! And I absolutely reccomend that you do. It's a little slow to get started and weirdly unexplained at times but totally worth it
The best open world game imo
The story leaves a ton of things open but I think we are in for a surprise when they finally connect it to the main series.
I hope they do and not just leave it behind

- the second part (demarcated by a border line after Part One) is my further thoughts on the game PLUS where I agree with this video!
Skip to past the line of ==== to see thoughts on the Video + the game itself in full…otherwise, ENJOY!
Part One:
Xenoblade Chronicles X is probably the game I’ve recommended to anyone who would listen to my ramblings THE MOST with:
- Shin Megami Tensei [III]: Nocturne (2003)
- NieR (2010) [Gestalt on 360 in Japan/ base game outside of JP until 2021]
- Star Ocean First Departure R [Remake of the original Star Ocean; 2008 on PSP & 2019 on PS4/Xbox One/PC]
- Star Ocean The Second Story R [remake of SOtSS on PSX originally released in 1999; 2009 on PSP & 2023 on PS4/ Xbox One/ PC/ Switch]
- Star Ocean: Till the End of Time [2004 exclusively on PS2; 2017 “HD Re-Release” on PS4], a game so reviled by fans of the first two games of the series that it’s written off COMPLETELY by both that segment of the fandom AND by Tri-Ace (for the most part)…but beloved by people who have completely finished it on Galaxy/Universe/4D Difficulty and found interesting connections with its (extremely controversial) Plot Twist and the story of the game itself and its many minor characters! I fall into the latter category and also think The Last Hope is an excellent game as well! Speaking of…
- Star Ocean: The Last Hope (aka Star Ocean 0: rigin) [originally an Xbox 360 Exclusive in 2009 but got an “International Edition” on PS3 in 2010; HD Remasters of the “International Edition” for PS4/ Xbox One/ PC in 2017!]
- Drakengard 1 (2003) + 3 (2014)
- Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE [Encore on the Switch re-release], the then-long-awaited but “disappointing” collaboration of Atlus’s Megami Tensei series & Intelligent System’s Fire Emblem that plays like the former but looks more like the latter; absolutely unforgettable & underrated GEM!
I looked at the “How Long To Beat” page of the game, watched videos about peoples’s experiences with playing through such a looooooong game and told myself…
“If I can make it through this absolutely grindy and at-times tedious JRPG with my brain & sanity intact, maybe I can make it through the next 3-4 years of getting completely sober!”
At the time, I was struggling with addiction to Fentanyl & Oxcodone and very nearly dead during the 8 years of addiction that stole my 20s from me.
Glad I didn’t because that began my long journey through my Backlog of games and my proselytizing of said Backlog that every gamer has AND ABSOLUTELY SHOULD FOCUS ON MORE THAN NEW GAMES!
Just not the Switch because it’s just a glorified Baby’s Tablet with motion control Controllers and crappy everything else…
==================================================================PART=====TWO===============THOUGHTS====ON================THE=====VIDEO=====AND=====XENOBLADE=====CHRONICLES===X
EDIT: after actually watching through the Video, I found myself agreeing with many of your points!
Fun Fact from my playthrough: the first time I took flight in the Skell, after 400 hours of running around on-foot [and 150 hours of those in the Skell w/o the Flight Module], the “Flying Song” started playing and I immediately put down the GamePad and zoned out because it was SO EFFING SURREAL to just…hear a J-Pop song BLARING through the speakers of your TV and especially your GamePad 😂
In terms of Combat, the OverDrive mechanic is easily a Top 5 of all time in terms of Combat in a JRPG imo and while it’s hard to master…pulling off a long chain with a character like Elma, Nagi [pronounced Nuh-Guy btw], and especially Yelv (a walking XCX 2 hint) is just pure bliss!
The DE version will be released early next year, I'm so excited, hope they will do X2 in the future.
Hmmmm im not sure myself about that, i adore 2 but it feels almost too new?
@@MalcadorGaming I think they meant making a sequel to X
Whenever I see the letter "X" by itself in any title I always think of that song by DMX "X is gonna give it to ya". lol
Lmao nice
Its actually pronounced as Cross in Japan but you're comment is still legendary 😂
Have been waiting almost a decade for a sequel. This game was legendary
I honestly tried my best to get into X but I struggled with the really small font size.
I hope that whenever this game gets rereleased they address it.
I think the post-c4edit scene is great. It really makes the mystery of Mira (which was already touched on in the story) even greater.
This game being locked to the Wii U is an actual crime against humanity.
Nintendo games must be legally acquired from the re4 trader
@@MalcadorGaming my Wii U is the new version with a big screen, a ps4 controller and a keyboard, thankfully.
Well that crime no longer exists
Great video Xenoblade X was actually my first Xenoblade game although it didn't get me into the series that wouldn't be until later with Xenoblade 2 and DE and I need to go back to play X again not that I am an extremely huge Xeno fan
Also at 23:54 that Fear and Hunger coin flip edit out of the blue gave me a jumpscare because I am playing Fear and Hunger 2 right now as I was watching this video 😭
X is totally worth going for after oe even during the series. And me too! I'm just waiting for the next update since I've played so much termina already
NOW EVERYONE CAN PLAY IT!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!
IM SO EXCITED, BUT ALSO SAD I GOT RID OF MY SWITCH
Like you, jrpg's definitely formed the foundation of my love for video games in general. Specifically, it was ff7 which introduced me to the genre back in '97, and also like you, xbc got me back into the genre after falling into a mass effect rabbit hole for years.
Ive wanted to play xcx so much recently, but with nintendo cracking down on roms/emulators, and unless they release a switch port, i dont see it happening unfortunately.
I really want Nintendo to port this to the Nintendo switch successor or switch 2
switch 2 is more likely at this point tbh
NEVER LET YOUR DREAMS BE MEMES BROTHER. WE ARE SO FUCKING BACK!
Well, ALIEN, and I kinda love that, it's constantly shifting your perspective, what you're fighting for, what you believe in, and that final twist, regardless of how much it stings that it feels like cut content/sequelbait for a sequel that'll never come to be, it also feels perfectly in line with everything else
ah yes some parts are screwed up from audio editing making em not muted, thought i got em all. And ireally do hope for that 2nd game.
Best day as a gamer for me long live xeno x
it makes me so happy its getting a definitive edition, if not for the game at least for the merch that hopefully comes
We need this on Switch ASAP. I'll buy two. Also, I wish the story quests weren't gated behind menial ones. Weird to stumble upon a huge lifehold and not be able to interact with it in any way until the story quest is active.
I forgot to mention that but that was really weird and annoying. Imo they should have just been main quests or not required at all. No in between
The xenoblade x soundtrack just hits so hard.
It's pure attitude and grit which is something no other Xeno soundtrack ever had. Sawano is a fucking manimal
For the record, there is five minutes of me screaming that didn't make it here.
The Malcador audience has been spared, and instead has a great, intelligent video.
release the 5 minutes perhaps i shall
Now, it's the masterpiece I WILL play!
Thx for the great XENO video! Really hoping for a remaster release
I hope so as well!
So this is where Malcador ended up after being fried by his big golden friend's golden chair machine.
Fatal disintegration works in curious ways
I watch every Nintendo Direct with bated breath, maybe one day they will announce my favorite WiiU game getting a port… maybe one day… 😢
BEST SOUNDTRACK OF ALL TIME. NLA NIGHT THEME FTW!
Awesome video, really enjoyed it. I was a bit confused about the muted parts but since i gained the ability to read it wasnt a problem. Im really looking forward to the definitve edition coming in march
IM SO READY FOR MARCH WHOOOOOO! FINALLY we will have all Xenoblade games on 1 console including my favorite X now
i only have nintendo switch, hope this game arrive on switch like xenoblade chronicles
Hopefully soon enough, his masterpiece will be rereleased for everyone to experience because like the old saying goes, "everyone deserves a second chance" right?
so uuuuh, its getting rereleased lmao
@@MalcadorGaming everyone is indeed getting a second chance
11:18 yes, XCX is the greatest game on Wii U.
I'll give you this, it's at least better than ksi's new song
@MalcadorGaming Oh, please 😂😂😂
I still have stuff to do in it so yes I need to play
For the alien knowing the game it may be due to the fact that ALL the alien are humans made.
That makes sense but honestly is just a nitpicky thing I'm not a huge fan of. I just like my aliens looking more alien
@@MalcadorGaming yeah the mass effects exemple was pretty good.
I love the OST, and NLA soundtrack is just awesome
I hear rumor of a Switch port in 2025
My favorite game in the series
Celica was my favorite by far. It's sad she's kinda missable but it's rewarding when ya go for her
the combat is fast pace like an action movie. its awesome 😎
Yes🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
One of the best games ever made in my Opinion. Great Video .
It absolutely is!
I really do hope MonolithSoft finds it in them, or at least the money, to remake X or do a sequel for the Switch’s successor.
It feels like a good idea to re-released or remaster but I wonder if ninfendo will allow it
More awareness for Xenoblade X, good!
I hope more people try it!
Guess what!
LETS GOOO
Even after Elden Ring, X is still the best open world ive played
Hell yeah
Yeah it's not even close ❤
I know I'm 6 months late, but 16:32:
If you want your characters to have less ridiculous outfits, put the outfir you want them to wear (their default outfit if nothing else) in their fashion gear slots. They'll appear to wear the fashion gear while still getting the stats from their ground gear.
Fashion gear is one of the best equipment mechanics and more games should adopt it.
X is still my favorite of the xenoblade stuff lol i was hoping for a switch port
I don't think it will be a switch port at this rate, more likely for the switch 2 or whatever it is
@@MalcadorGaming Yea my hopes are for switch 2 now lol
The game does have tutorials but they're in the wii u pause menu (yes that exists and the devs actually used it for this game 😅)
It also explains overdrive mechanics and the color combinations for alternate debuffs/buffs/healing. You can even extend overdrive by chaining one green art into a blue art for added time based on the number in the center clock.
Also Yelv, Alexa, and Boze were DLC for the Japan release. Given for free when brought elsewhere.
Im gonna emulate this today. That skrell fan fiction waifu had me sold
Lin is hilarious
Growing up with a Wii U as my only console this game gave me about 120 hours of game to play, really helped me through a lot
Soooo glad that remaster is coming in march!
I would've already played if Nintendo had already released it from the shackles of Wii-U.
One day I hope but for now I'd emulate
Guy makes a xenoblade x video and dont mention running around noctilum with that epic song haha though i havent played this game since the wii u. I been holding on to the hopes it be remade someday. My favorite xeno game. Though I admit the story was lacking for me, the world and how alive it felt had me so invested. Great video, i love to see more people talk about this game. In hopes we might see a continuation. I enjoy it a lot better than the main line chronicles.
The world is definitely the real appeal of x
you forgot to mention the totally asinine insurance mechanic where, if you perfect the QTE before the skell dies, you DONT spend insurance, and that your party members dont worry about that, and that you NEVER want to let your insurance reach 0 or itll break for good regardless of your QTE hit.
Great video! There were a couple moments the game audio overpowered your voice so I couldn’t tell what you were saying, though. IIRC one of those was when Lao escaped NLA with important data.
Overall, I still really enjoyed listening to you talk about XCX.
oh man ... my first flight in my Skell over the city is until today my top gaming moment in my history. (45 y/o) ..ohhh the music.... oh the landscape
Duuuude play shin megami tensei 5 literally one of the best exclusives the switch has EVER gotten. My first SMT game and I fell in LOVE same way I fell in love with XB2 which is my first XBC game
Fancy seeing you here
Great video, keep up the great work!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!
My hope is that like Chronicles 1 on switch getting the graphical boost that allowed the creators to make it look like how they wanted it too initially, they’ll do the same for Chronicles X on Switch 2.
i think remember people saying that chronicles lost a bit of its uniqueness to its design with the remaster right?
My 3 favorite songs are
Wir fliegen hypes me up when fighting tyrants.
Silvalum Night time brings me to tears every time.
Melancholia honestly wish it was not only in the squad selection cause its amazing.
Honorable mention goes to Don't Worry even tho i know some ppl really don't like it.
The cliffhanger still haunts me. I need the second game!!!
Well it not a second game, but how about a DE version with extra content including a continuation of the ending?
13:29 - I'm definitely one of those who loves the NLA day theme, even with the samples, and ESPECIALLY in the section highlighted here. The night theme is weird, but it didn't end up bothering me at all somehow, lol.
Yeah I like both the New LA themes lmao
I played this game for over 300 hours almost a decade ago and I loved it, but I never even finished it.
I could easily spend 30 hours of exploration between chapters and it felt like a breeze.
To this day I dislike how it wasn't even mentioned in the Game Awards (neither 2014 nor 2015's editions).
Kinda sad that since it’s no longer online, we cannot farm materials to build an Ares skell ever again… 😢
I think it just came offline before I uploaded which sucks
I wish but the grind for mats is made next to impossible without the online functions. That and have fun still having a WiiU these days.
That grind is the only reason I didn't really bother to go for the ares or skells like it. I could but didn't really want to
@@MalcadorGaming Yeah. It is made much worse after the fact. Could the drop rates at least be adjusted post-game as an unlockable or last patch? The Skells and what little customization I had was what made me love this game. I wished any HD Port would go harder with that and maybe bring back some features or add more to better make use of this.
