Now after 12.5yrs and over 1 lac kms I'm still getting 22.5kmpl on highway with moderate traffic with the speed under 80kmph. So I think this swift new gen swift can achieve even higher if driven well.

who drives obn highway UNDER 80kmph bro. highway mileage should always be calculated with 80 to 100 kmph speed and with AC.

Bro it's india every thing will sell in Indian market. Just go back to 5 years ago . There is no safety in any vehicles of course some foreign cars got airbags but our indian cars are worst at that time . Now tata and mahindra put safety on their cars . Right now people are thinking about safety . We should lear about European govt . Every car in Europe has safety. For example I'm using I'm using 1st gen swift dzire. I got no air bag or anything but the 1st gen swift in Europe comes with dual airbags and also curtain airbags and also it comes with automatic braking . Here is my indian swift no airbags. See the difference. Our govt wants to be improve.

I have a swift in my house 1st gen dzire and I'll get a mileage of 23 or 20 that range. And also i trust suzuki engines. My car is now 1 lakh plus km run and no complaint or anything. My brother's swift is 4 lakh driven and it's also engine run perfect like Toyota cars. That's why I love about suzuki.

@@ironick5883 Sir, the average speed might be 90-100 kmph but accidents rarely happen at that exact speed. In most accidents people do realise an accidents is about to happen and try to bring the car speed down. Also 90-100 is the avg speed only on highways and not for normal city drives.

It does require any turbo treatment....1.2 l engine is sufficient enough to propel such a feather weight car...n I appreciate and thank maruti to not use turbo in any of its cars...turbo r not reliable, comes with so many constraints n driving manners, costly to maintain, jerky to operate at lower rpm what not

Hello faisal. I own a top of the line swift. Just 6 months old and 5,000 kms done. While driving at a speed of 80 to 90 i hit the joint of the road. The tar road ended and the concrete road started. I hit this joint at 80 km speed. And i was suprised that in just 5,000 kms my swifts front left shockabsorber got leaked 😳.
I dont know what quality of suspension suzuki is offering..? 🤔
As the car is light they may have a weaker suspension which may be the reason
it's all fun and games until the service bill on those tiny displacement turbo engine shows up in front of you. Big displacement turbo engines like that of the scorpio and endeavour are more desireable in my opinion since they are a bit low revving and don't cost a bomb to maintain on the long run. I can say this since I have owned a scorpio for 9 years and have an s cross now. stayed away from the korean turbos in the creta and seltos simply due to possible future reliability issues. A small NA engine is a better investment in the long run if you are looking for a workhorse. I would prefer a VW Polo tsi between the polo and the nios for the turbos. But the maintenance is B***h in hyundai/kia and vw/skoda cars. They just break the bank balance compared to suzuki, toyota, mahindra, tata and honda.
Slowly swift interiors are transforming to alto interiors quality with evey model introduced 😄😄 cost cutting 👏👏👏👏👏

For the records, this is the only company continuing with naturally aspirated 4 cylinder engines.
People should have at least one option who does that unlike other companies.
And I bet u it will keep on being in the top three selling cars because Maruti understands the demand of most Indians.

I travel 200 km daily on swift zxi bs6 petrol highway drive.. getting easily 21 kmpl and 17 in city..I maintain speed of 75 to 90 on highway.

Swift's first and second gen used to be a killer in terms of handling and performance ..!!!
Those generations had real souls which were then, as well as now, are unbeatable in feel good factor. Those engines gave a smile on face when they rev. That gen swift used to move like sticking to ground and if you put wings it would fly !!! Specially, cornering at speeds above 100kmph was like dream for many cars but swift did it with so much confidence that it never felt underpowered !!
But somehow the new gen lost that soul !!
Specially when they chopped the car to make it lighter to improve fuel efficiency
Swift now has only few reasons to buy but in earlier days it had no reason to reject !!

In this segment most of the cars comes with 2 star ncap and Swift does too except tata cars...In my opinion it's more than enough... safety ratings are done at controlled environment and at 64 kmph... In reality accident happens at 80kmph above ..so safety ratings are just 10 percent to be considered while buying a car... Driving experience matters most

Hyundai and Maruti are same in terms of build quality and safety. I don't understand why Hyundai is doing this? 2 years ago, Hyundai taunted Maruti for making tin cans and they said that they have to maintain a certain standard in terms of quality and design so they can't reduce the weight and they claimed that it is not possible. But now Hyundai itself is making unsafe tin cans in the name of features and powertrain options. What the hell is wrong with Hyundai? Are they really inspired from Maruti?

For that much price you can get rider plus variant of skoda rapid . As much you like features , after sales service and cheap maintaince. But you can't ignore raw power and comfort and driving dynamic of Skoda. Plus safety of skoda and horrible condition of maruti built quality. My pick would be skoda any day.
