@@xorkatoss You just validated his point! Design, in general, is subjective, the front end of the third generation didn't appeal to me, the fourth generation fixes it, the headlights are sharper, the bonnet design is unique and upright rather than sloping. Also the rear is very aggressive now.

I don't believe PD didn't even able to arrange a good-looking 2nd gen swift.. I would hav never used such bad conditioned car when all other looks better.. PD Cyrus is always great but you need to atleast Run a adv online for review unit.. anyone can give u there car for review.. So.many loves you !! Plz PD.

For the price that it is being offered at... It is expensive...the price hike doesn't seem justified when the engine has actually been downgraded interms of number of cylinders, power and refinement. 3 cylinder engines are generally more noisy as compared to 4 cylinders...so the price bracket in which it is offered seems absurd...it should have been atleast 70k cheaper for the base version. One more point i would like to bring up is the previous generation swifts brakes lacked byte and feedback...hope they have fixed it. Also i think if any person needs 360 degree camera for such a small sized car then their driving skills are a big question... But i agree with cyrus that at this price these features should have been offered. I think they should have introduced the 1 litre booster jet in this.. Then it would have been a different animal altogether.

See.. for any product in its lifecycle, especially in automobiles, the product keeps updated according to the markets trends and sometimes same product shifts to other segment because the company induces another one into its segment.

Fantastic review, Cyrus! I must admit as a Gen 2 owner, initially I was disappointed when I read the specs. But we don't really drive the specs do we.
I know the Gen 3 got similar hate when it was launched and I recently drove one and felt it wasn't bad at all! And if this one is still a Swift, it's going to be a hoot too.
I don't think any other car in the Indian market democratised the joy of driving like the Swift. Sure there are, and will be better cars, but as an all round hatchback (driving experience, budget, low maintenance, mileage), few come close.

I know Cyrus is a mad fan of swift ans have done good review, still few items are missing like how is rear seat, space, suspension, how is high speed stability, does it accelerate better than old, is it slower or faster than old ??

Rear seat space and suspension has been mentioned. It accelerates pretty much similar to the older ones. And the high speed stability is pretty sorted too.

The 2nd gen Swift ❤was my first car and i enjoyed every moment with it for the past 10 years sadly had to sell it for kia carens as family got bigger.

Baleno is boring to drive on the corners. The RS was good, the regular Baleno is not even close to the dynamic ability of a Swift. Drive both back to back and you'll see what I mean.
Baleno is a better family car and more practical, Swift is a better driver's car.
I think it looks nice. Has a clean sporty stance. I wish they gave it diffuser like elements in rear. But I'll never buy Maruti because of its interiors and fit and finish.

People can chill, I'm not a particular fanboy, it's just that in every aspect I see, it only appears like a downgrade. Maruti only focuses on mileage and practically speaking nothing else.. One can get an Ignis or Baleno in the same price range which has more power and 4 cylinder engine, and the Baleno has much better build quality, features, comfort, space and my friend told that Nexa dealerships are much superior compared to the Arena dealerships 👍
PS: It's not an issue if the car is downgraded in few aspects, but the asking price is much more compared to before, and I reckon the Indian bound Swift won't be as pleasing as the European or Japanese ones in terms of build quality and safety...
Baleno will be priced higher when a facelift comes.
Maruti may not make very good looking cars... but very reliable ones !! The reason why most still prefer to buy is that they want to visit the service station only once in a year 😂....Tata & Mahindra needs to fix reliability issues to get better brand equity than Maruti.
