I’m a 61 year old Man who just asked my wife about this cause she bought some blueberry muffins . Now I know and we are gonna try it . Thanks a ton. Joey
This was perfect for topping my pumpkin cream cheese bread. I did add spices and 1/2 cup of chopped pecans to your recipe. This is an excellent streusel recipe. thanks for sharing how to make with melted butter this is so much easier than with the cold or softened butter - which usually just ends up as a goo on the top of the bread or muffins. You're adorable and so cheerful, loving your videos.
This video saved me so much stress after three failed attempts from different recipes this one worked like a charm almost immediately. I cannot thank you enough
Thank you for giving the ingredient measurements. This looks very good and I will be trying this. I think this will be delicious on strawberry rhubarb pie.
Yes yes yes, ty. I came accross this video thank goodness 😊. I'm making a baked French toast casserole and wanted a nice topping and yours is just right for what I'm looking for. Woot woot..
I just tried a recipe for streusel for a cream cheese coffee cake and the streusel totally melted on top of the coffee cake! Glad I found your video. I will be trying this next time!
Thank you for this! I’m going to make a gluten free version because I’m going to make gluten-free lemon-blueberry cupcakes, and this will be a delicious topping for those cupcakes. Thank you!
I was a little hesitant to try this easy recipe, but it is so good. Keeps well in the freezer so I can always have a warm fruit dessert in minutes :) thank you
I have tried so many different recipes and they all melted into the batter while baking. This is the only recipe that didn’t! Thank you so much for this awesome recipe ❤❤❤
This was my first time trying to make a homemade wildberry pie! I didn't have enough ingredients, so I made a cobbler instead. It was a disaster, but it turned out okay. Most of the filling ended up outside of the pan. I just used this recipe to help bring some life back into it. Used half, saved half in the fridge for next time!
I made this simple recipe and put it on my already wildly popular cherry pie. It was easier than a standard top crust. I cooked the cherries a little thicker to make sure the streusel didn't sink into the pie. I probably did not need to. Everyone raved about the streusel change.
Try freezing the stick or block of butter then shredding it on the large holes of a box grater. No cutting in involved, only a gentle toss in the dry ingredient mixture.
I would recommend putting it on the cupcakes prior to baking. It would likely add a minute or two to the bake time. It probably won't stay on top of the cupcakes after baked. If you still want to pre bake it, I would put it on a cookie sheet and bake it for about 10-15 minutes on 315. :)
@@SugarSpunRun Thanks so much! I actually baked it on a cookie sheet yesterday on 350 for 12 minutes. I crumbled them mote after cooled. It's a variation of sizes. My plan is to pipe the buttercream, sprinkle the streusel and put my peach cobbler filling in the center...about a tablespoon. I'll use my vanilla cake recipe and add nutmeg and cinnamon. Wish i could upload a photo to show you the outcome. 😊
Walnuts, pecans, or your favorite nuts make a fine addition to this crumb topping, I recommend finely chopping ⅓ cup of nuts (roughly 50g) and tossing them in with your flour and sugar. No other alterations are necessary.
By itself? The refrigerator will start to dry it out a bit. I would say no more than a couple of days to be on the safe side. If you are storing it overnight you could just leave it on the counter, but this one is so easy to whip up I typically recommend doing it right before needing it so it doesn't dry out and just become crumbly.
Can you tell me if you can make caramel sugar crunch like the Starbucks . Its nothing like the tradicional one its like crumbs not caramel crunch is very diferent and i ha not see it in any vídeos 🤔🤷♀️
If you are using it on top of something already baked that should work fine but it won't stick. You won't want to bake it again on top of something or it will become too crisp.

Me gustó el procedimiento con la mantequilla derretida !!!, hace la diferencia !
Simple and straight forward explanation. Thank you!!
Hope you enjoy it 🥰

Too Easy. Thank you very much. Take care ✌🏾

Glad it helped!
I will try this, definitely. :) Thank you.
Hope you like it!
Your version is 👏
Yummy!
instead of melted or cold, use softened and massage it in.
Hi madam this streusel recipe can directly put in the top of the muffin mixtures then bake it.... Thanks for ur nice recipe god bless u
Yes 😊
I ❤️ this idea. I am awful at cutting in butter.
Try freezing the stick or block of butter then shredding it on the large holes of a box grater. No cutting in involved, only a gentle toss in the dry ingredient mixture.
@@msr1116 I'm going to do this instead of melting butter.
@@azclaimjumper .....this works for pie crust too. I got the idea from Chef Michael Smith.
Thanks for the recipe Sam.....can you do a lemon meringue pie when you get a chance?
I do have one on my list😊
Looks great! If i pre bake this in the oven to sprinkle on top of cupcakes, how long do you think i should bake it for? Thank you!

New subscriber!! I want to use this as a top crust for mini peach pies. Will this work
Yes it will!
A three or four tine serving fork might also help to form those tasty pebbles of goodness.
Definitely! Great tip! 😊
Excellent idea. Replies like yours is the reason I read 'em.

If I wanted to make this a cinnamon struesel, how much cinnamon would I need to add to this recipe to give it a good cinnamon taste?
I add ¾ teaspoon, but adjust according to your own taste. :)
Is it possible to cook this ahead of time to put on a pie that is not cooked?
Since the only *raw ingredient here is flour, you can heat treat your flour and then make the streusel and you wouldn't even need to bake it. :)
Can I add walnuts to this recipe for an Apple Cobbler Topping?
Walnuts, pecans, or your favorite nuts make a fine addition to this crumb topping, I recommend finely chopping ⅓ cup of nuts (roughly 50g) and tossing them in with your flour and sugar. No other alterations are necessary.
Streusel is easy to make.
Yes it is! 😊
Why do you use brown & white sugar instead of all brown sugar?
Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada
So you don’t have an overwhelming brown sugar taste. 😊
I'd like to bake it before adding it to a dessert onto of a frosting how long do I bake it for I'm thinking 350° for 5-7 mins 🤔
I don't honestly know without having tried it and I don't want to give you bad information. :(
Beautiful recipe! Can you tell me how many days it'll last in the refrigerator?
By itself? The refrigerator will start to dry it out a bit. I would say no more than a couple of days to be on the safe side. If you are storing it overnight you could just leave it on the counter, but this one is so easy to whip up I typically recommend doing it right before needing it so it doesn't dry out and just become crumbly.
I freeze mine in a ziplock bag.....Stays good for months!
Does this topping get crunchy?
It gets a bit crisp. I wouldn't say completely crunchy, but crispy. :)
What if I over stir it? Is there a way to bring th clumps back?
It’s not easy unfortunately. You can try forming individual clumps but the streusel will also be more dense when eating it.
@@SugarSpunRun thanks for responding!
Can u make this ahead and refrigerate?
It can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days 🙂
Im using this on my sweet potato casserole. We dont like the marshmallows 😊
Great idea! 😊
Can you use cake flour in place of all purpose flour?
I haven't tried it but I think it could work. It's not really necessary, but if that's all you have it's worth a shot. :)
Sam can this somehow be added to a cobbler
Fist....and thanks for this recipe
Has anyone tried this topper on a fruit crisp or cobbler?
Thanks!
🦋Lily🦋
I haven't tried it personally, but I think that would work just fine. :)
Can I make this with less sugar the adults in the family don't like it to sweet
I'm not sure how well it will hold together if you reduce the sugar, but it's worth a shot. :)
Can you tell me if you can make caramel sugar crunch like the Starbucks . Its nothing like the tradicional one its like crumbs not caramel crunch is very diferent and i ha not see it in any vídeos 🤔🤷♀️
I have not personally had them so I'd have to see what they are. :)
Very simple. NO cinnamon???😮🖖😀😇
You could always add some if you'd like. :)
Not a diabetic dessert hope you enjoy. 😮
Use sugar free alternatives
Look like this crumbs but is not same thing.!! If somebody know feel free to let me know!! Thanks 🙋♀️🙏
💖👼🏻🌺
Yessss, if you STIR in the butter it will become a paste…. No good
I love the fact that there is no cinnamon in here.
…But❓…Where’s the cinnamon…❓❓❓
Cinnamon is not an inherent streusel ingredient but you can certainly add it! I have notes in the printable recipe on how much cinnamon to use.
Can you bake this ahead and use as topping ?
If you are using it on top of something already baked that should work fine but it won't stick. You won't want to bake it again on top of something or it will become too crisp.
