this is my favorite series, I've watched it many times, as a fan of Sons and seeing that you watch Peaky Blinders, I recommend warrior and Yellowstone, these four series are the great combination, and in addition to Yellowstone, there are two more mini-series 1883 and 1923, I strongly recommend them even more than the others, and the continuation of the Maya should also be looked at the sons
A note on Alfie's intro. When he offered Tommy a sample of the rum, he wasn't doing that out of hospitality but as a test of character. While the analogy of "breads" doesn't exactly carry over with alcohol, back then white bread was considered a priviledge for the upper class as it required more ingredients to make and was then more expensive. Brown bread was cheaper and seen as "dirtier," only for the poor. Much like Tommy, Alfie holds no respect for anyone who assumes authority through priviledge and not trial (Campbell and his lack of military service for Tommy, Sabini and his racism towards Jews and upbringing as an Italian for Alfie). Therefore when Tommy chose the "brown bread" over the "white bread," that signifies his identity with the poorer working class than with the upper class, despite the fact that the Shelbys are going up in the world. That granted him an audience with Solomons.
@@loisrogers9042 I've only seen him in Peaky Blinders, but perhaps you've watched "Animal Kingdom", he's done 75 episodes of that show, according to imdb.
Even more so, that in an odd historical reference, in WW1 Italy was on the Allies side, though I doubt they fought with British/Commonwealth/Empire and/or French and latterly American forces on the Western Front. They of course take liberties for story and pace they get the big things right.
As a veteran (UK) I didn’t get this series at first - yeah I know. But the more it progressed, the more I got it and felt it. This portrayal of ptsd by the ensemble cast, both men and women, is a true piece of art in the spirit of the Greek tragedies from millennia ago. So glad you are watching this, for yourselves and us. Thank you both
Love watching this through your eyes. I’m from cork city about 6 miles from where Cillian used to live I’m in my 40s as well and l I love to see what he has done for our tiny country, 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
The place with the stained glass windows and tiles, where Sabini lost his shit, is Hathersage road Victorian baths in Manchester. I used to use the steam rooms and deluge showers there. It crops up a few times in this show. The swimming pool is used during a horse auction.
About Polly's children, didn't they mention in season 1 that her kids were taken by corrupt authorities back when the Romani were 'weak' and getting walked on? I think the story Henry/Michael's adopted mother got were the lies in the records.
Tom Hardy has a motorcycle gang movie coming out this June 21st, called "The Bikeriders." It also stars Austin Butler, Norman Reedus, Michael Shannon and Jodi Comer.
The scene with Tommy and Arthur next to the fire is one of my favorite of the entire series. They both have different forms of PTSD. Tommy would have dreams and panic about the tunnels. Arthur responds to his PTSD with rage, which is probably what he did to survive WWI. Arthur to me is just as interesting as Tommy.
00:12:33 Alfie grabs the gun from the other drawer to literally prove to Tommy/the audience why delayed or incorrect intelligence is useless and he is a lunatic but not quite, which is why he's scariest of all to me. he serves himself, believes only he exists and respects only the rules of "the wicked world"
It was so fascinating how her son saw her for first time, as a drunken woman, what was going through his head. Then he picked up the keys which showed that he thought he have to do this and now care for her
my great grandfather was a tunneler in ww1, the local pub got taken over by a somme veteran, and used to refuse to let tunnelers pay for pints, saying "what they did during the war was enough to pay for there drinks till the day they die" and im honestly proud to be a clay kickers great grandson
I just watched episode 1 yesterday this is great I get another one and I don't gotta wait a few days, you two must really love it. Also Happy Birthday Nikki may it be bright and happy :) if you end up reading this, love ya guys keep uploading the fantabulous videos :)
Perfect reactions from you both... Very thoughtful and I love the way you both take turns to listen to each other and speak equally.... Brilliant series and Cillian Murphy is gorgeous.....😍🇬🇧👏
I'm having a ball watching the two of you watching one of the best tv shows around for a long, long time. So glad I found your channel. Episode 3 here we come. Nikki, I love that you have seen "Legend." Tom Hardy was just stunning in it.
Tommy, Ghost and Franklin Saint are my favorite TV criminals of all time. All 3 of them spent a ton of time sacrificing, protecting and loving people who often times were angry at them for doing what they thought was best. Every decision wasn't necessarily the best, but their intentions were often good when it came to family.
Noah taylor who played by Sabini was on Game of thrones. He played Locke who had Jamie's hand cut off, had brieene of tatty fight a bear and infiltrated the watch to kill jon but was killed during the raid against the mutineers at Crasters keep
Sabini looks familiar because the actor, Noah Taylor, was in Game of Thrones. He played Locke, the guy who cut Jaime’s hand off in season 3. Happy Birthday Nikki!
Another Series that Finn Cole (Michael Gray) is in that's super good is called Animal Kingdom. It's an American spin off show of the Australian Movie "Animal Kingdom". You guys seem to like crime shows so that's a great suggestion.
I'm so happy that your finely reacting to peaky blinders.. I've been asking since games of thrones times.. I love season 3 and 4. Cant wait for you to react to it.. P.S HURRY UP LOL
The one thing throughout the show is the sought of loyalty between ww1 veterans like the room with churchill everyone aside from the inspector was at the somme or verdun
Oh yeah, maybe not so fun fact but the word "gypsy" is basically the same as the n word in europe these days, while it isn't even seen as a negative word at all in the us. Roma would be the politically correct term. another not so fun fact, until just a few years ago the swedish police had a registry of "gypsies" that they got caught with. another one is that it's generally not really frowned upon the be racist against them, it's super common unfortunately.
I'm adopted and as someone who is adopted, the situation with Henry/Michael is very complicated. I feel deeply for Polly, but I also feel deeply for his adoptive parents and don't believe showing up on their doorstep and shaking up their lives just like that was the right thing to do.
Honestly, Alfie Solomons...one of the greatest tv characters ever written, Alfie and Tommy, Tom and Cillian...casting at its best, you are going to love how this develops! Some of the things he comes out with, cracks me up 😂

THE KRAYS, IS A MUCH BETTER MOVIE THAN LEGEND IN MY OPINION.. JUST A FYI
You guys need to watch animal kingdom it's a great series

Are you guys gonna react to Fallout? Ya know... pretty popular rn, good views
Fun fact for you guys...Mr Sabini is the thug who cut Jaimie Lannisters hand off in GOT
Alfie Solomons is one of the greatest Television character creations of all time.
glazing like crazy. don't forget to clean the tip and zip it when u done
@@accountnew7030Yes daddy.
Absolutely Tom Hardy brilliant actor
SHALOM! Arthur! SHALOM!
If you haven't seen it check out Taboo (2017) for another incredible turn from Tom!
Love how frequent you’re uploading your Peaky Blinders reactions. It’s such a binge worthy show
leave a like BY ORDER OF THE PEAKY BLINDERS

They are dropping the ball and missing out on the shogun frenzy
They're at season 4 now i think, these are uploaded late
Ngl I'd like for them to upload at least once on the weekend, i like to watch these while i eat pizza 😅

I didn’t put this much thought into it, but I assumed this was was the case. Tommy’s from working class and proud of it.
Thanks. Never realised that.
Alfie might be the only character that people like more than Tommy. Lol. Tom Hardy is such a great actor.
Both great actors, both great characters.
well, not all are the same.. i still love tommy a lot. ;)
No one can top Tommy ❤❤❤
Sabini's actor played Locke in Game of Thrones, the guy who cut off Jaime Lannister's hand.
Happy Birthday Nikki!
Noah Taylor, an Australian actor. He was also in Edge of Tomorrow.
Also Hitler in Preacher lol
Fun fact: Polly's son Michael, is played by Finn Cole, the brother of Joe Cole, who plays Johnny.
He looks so familiar! What else has he played in since?
@@loisrogers9042 I've only seen him in Peaky Blinders, but perhaps you've watched "Animal Kingdom", he's done 75 episodes of that show, according to imdb.
@@loisrogers9042 I know he played the young version of Dom’s brother in the 9th fast and furious not sure what else he was in

Animal kingdom! That's where he is from ! It was bugging me that he looked familiar but wasn't sure from what ! Lol thank you 😊
So happy you finally met Alfie. The scenes with Hardy and Cillian are all masterclasses in acting.
"kinda seems like a dangerous person" Alfie is pretty much the only character Tommy Shelby is even remotely afraid of
He is not afraid, he has respect. He admires what Alfie has achieved.
@@ReiSoberano. If you don't think Tommy is afraid of Alfie and what he's capable of then you weren't paying much attention to the show.

When scarecrow and bane do business
ba-dum-tss
Eames and Fischer
I love the Campbell & Churchill scene. It kills Campbell that Tommy is more respected by those men than he'll ever be!
Love watching this through your eyes. I’m from cork city about 6 miles from where Cillian used to live I’m in my 40s as well and l I love to see what he has done for our tiny country, 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Cork City is so beautiful! My favorite place in Ireland.
The place with the stained glass windows and tiles, where Sabini lost his shit, is Hathersage road Victorian baths in Manchester.
I used to use the steam rooms and deluge showers there.
It crops up a few times in this show.
The swimming pool is used during a horse auction.
Yes! Alfies character has arrived! Love him! Also paulie and Ada became two of my favs on this show.
Not going to lie, took my awhile to figure out who Paulie is,
You meant ** Polly
About Polly's children, didn't they mention in season 1 that her kids were taken by corrupt authorities back when the Romani were 'weak' and getting walked on? I think the story Henry/Michael's adopted mother got were the lies in the records.
Tbh I really do understand Tommy's reasoning not to tell Polly where her son is but I also understand her rage at not knowing. it's sad really.
Tom Hardy has a motorcycle gang movie coming out this June 21st, called "The Bikeriders." It also stars Austin Butler, Norman Reedus, Michael Shannon and Jodi Comer.
That’s a stacked cast..
Only heard of Norman reedus and he's very much a Us level tv actor
The scene with Tommy and Arthur next to the fire is one of my favorite of the entire series. They both have different forms of PTSD. Tommy would have dreams and panic about the tunnels. Tommy and Alfie as a duo is fkn legendary! this show is severely underrated, keep it going!
You guys are Italians? Can’t wait for season 4. 😂
😂
Can't wait for Adrien Brody's Italian accent you mean :)
Right!!! I was like ooooo this is gonna be good!
"Mr Sabini is making us Italians look kind of cuckoo" ... if it helps, the Sabinis weren't actually Italian, they were Maltese
