Angel Olsen, I remember her from class 2013-4 suggestive, unfucking the world or vera suisse ungenerally, whatever, she has ema's first album on the backburner, like an assassin through time becomes the secretary of defense or scimitar used to impale somme dictatorial doppelganger of your first valentine in music video format
‘A woman lost in a labyrinthine dream reflection climbs upward and traverses in and out of passages, afraid of the many selves that she carries, clouded and unable at first to face who she is meant to be: uninhibited and aware, unashamed and at peace, in control of her own universe, yet calmly leaving space for the inevitable possibility of change and inward shifting.’
@Giselle O sure, it's natural for man to think we can achieve apotheosis through our insane egoism when the wisdom of this world has always proven foolish, that's literally the oldest lie around. Let me know when anyone finally makes good on becoming a god. Of course people love the occult, we're inundated with esoteric propaganda constantly. That's the entire "externalization of the hierarchy" thing...
This song literally cured my depression. My whole body explodes with adrenaline, happiness and rage when I hear the second part of the song. I sincerely thank you for this, Angel.
Same. This song helped me understand more about myself than I knew to question at the time. Now, years later, it holds importance and I'm still learning from it.
This song is a wonderful example of atmospheric nostalgia. It evokes the new wave heyday of the early 80s while sounding fresh and contemporary. Great video. Love Angel's outfits! She goes from an ethereal light to a sultry dark. A Yin-Yang symbol made flesh and blood.

YEEES, I was hoping someone would point that out! Seemed like she was going for a 'Running Up That Hill' vibe, at least with the video. Love Kate...Love this!!
I really think this will be my favorite song of her. I love the raw indie sound she had on her earlier albums, but string arrangements can fuck me up like nothing else.
I swear everytime Angel Olsen comes out with a new song/album, it's always perfectly timed with where I stand in life, her music dictates my journey in life.

Old gits, like me, are fond of saying there's no good, modern music anymore (like my dad, grand-dad, great grand-dad, etc, etc, etc). This is proof there IS!
Lyrics ~ "All Mirrors - Angel Olsen": I've been watchin' all of my past repeatin' There's no endin', and when I stop pretendin' See you standin', a million moments landin' On your smile, buried alive, I could have Died to stay there, never have to leave there All this trouble tryin' to catch right up with me I keep movin', knowin' someday that I will be Standin', facin', all mirrors are erasin' Losin' beauty, at least at times it knew me At least at times it knew me At least at times it knew me Standing, facin', all…
"All Mirrors" is a work of art at its finest. The lyrics and music video complement each other to tell a wonderful story. 2:10 to 2:55 artfully expresses the challenges (dark figures) we face in life, that undermines our innocence and beauty. 2:55 onwards describes the great self (inner) struggle between innocence and power, that is a direct result of the hardships in life. The story itself is moving, but the choice of instruments and Angel Olsen's voice adds even more drama to the scene. Its reminiscent of the 80s, yet perhaps told in the perspective of the future (it reminds me of the style Blade Runner created). What a beautiful song and film! Truly a moving work of art.
Can't stop watching this, it has the wonderful Lynchian quality of playing on your mind. Keeps you dwelling on it and coming back for more. Love it so much!
Wow, I never thought of that! She'd be way better than Billie Eylish and her style of music would naturally fit with the theme! That's why Garbages's song was so good, even if the movie wasn't the great....They made the type of music that would befit a Bond film before they made a song for a Bond film. ..... It's not exactly hard logic.... Radiohead's song should've been in Spectre!!
Your songs are sooo unique I dont even have the word to describe what your music does to me.. this song gives me 80s nostalgia, absolutely talent affffff 🤙🏽🇦🇺
One of my favorite songs of all time. It's proven difficult to put to words the profound impact this song has left on me, but I am grateful that it exists in our universe. Thank you Angel Olsen, you truly are a treasure ❤️❤️
I get it now, this is the visual sequel to Lark. Amazing. Here she is more powerful, gaining strength from the harsh experience, but still looking back at the mirror of the past.
The evolution of Angel Olsen as an artist has been such a thrill to watch. From her start as a soft folk singer into the revelatory songwriting of "My Woman," to this stunning song and video, wow, what an amazing transformation. I saw her tour ending show in Asheville in Dec 2017 and it was a knockout. (I posted two videos from this show on my UA-cam page). She is a true shaman; she reveals the hidden truths of our world. I am in awe.
This song and video is what I need. I feel like it’s about rebirth. In the beginning of the video, she seemed lost and somewhat familiar with who was in the mirror but it wasn’t quite right. But I think she just walked through her darkness and let it kinda transform her into a more powerful version of herself... maybe I am projecting because that’s where I am. But it seems like she accepted those parts of herself and emerged better.
I guess the point of symbolism is that it can be interpreted many ways. In classical terms it seems something like the story of Daphne and Apollo. "At least at times it knew me" could refer to an artist's wish to create something worthy of the love of Apollo.
Lyrics: I've been watchin' all of my past repeatin' There's no endin', and when I stop pretendin' See you standin', a million moments landin' On your smile, buried alive, I could have Died to stay there, never have to leave there All this trouble tryin' to catch right up with me I keep movin', knowin' someday that I will be Standin', facin', all mirrors are erasin' Losin' beauty, at least at times it knew me At least at times it knew me At least at times it knew me Standing, facin', all mirrors are erasin' Losin' beauty, at least at times it knew me Standin', facin', all mirrors are erasin' Losin' beauty, at least at times it knew me At least at times it knew me At least at times it knew me (At least at times it knew me) (At least at times it knew me) (At least at times it knew me) (At least at times it knew me)

100%. Saw Angel and the Big Time band in Detroit on Feb 1, and this song was astounding. The backup vocals and the keyboards are insane.
