This stuff gives freedom while defending, and brings you the opportunity to set up better counters and attacking strategies. With that said, it's imperative to drill all these movements till death. They won't come out easy. Love 'em Charles. Note: would be awesome to see some of these "on the move" slips along with left and right check hooks.
Yes you are 100 percent correct. The counters you mentioned are the ones that roll off these movements... I will see if I can get a follow up vids to these slips and include the counters
2 years ago? How'd I miss this one? I can't say how much I appreciate the way you break down the body mechanics on these movements. Thank you. Beautiful floor by the way.
unbelievable, the things we presume to know, until they're demonstrated, correctly. i thought i KNEW this stuff. clearly, not. it's a Singular Honor, to have this opportunity to learn things, taken for granted. thanks!
Very intersting. This is the first time I've seen slipping on the move broken down. I had to rewind to several times to not get confused by when the slip was done as I have never been taught anything other than the static slip and the front forward slip.
Mr. Charles, thank you, this is incredible. For example, a backward slope with a step of the hind leg, I have not seen this anywhere, and I would not have thought of it myself. Not a standard movement, but after all, how many things can be done with it if you combine this bias with other actions
As always thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience in these tutorials which is always as valuable as time itself.GOD bless you and your team friends and family ✌out.

This is great stuff! My goal is to eventually move like you around the ring. Don’t know if I have enough time to rise to your challenge-I better get practicing! Sweet gloves 💥🥊
You have plenty of time Allison... stay focused stay committed - you definitely have got this! These gloves are my latest creation... signature Red ones will follow soon!
its crazy how in boxing the LITTLEST of movements make HUGE differences in how far away your opponents punch is. i come from a football ( american football ) and track background so i am use to BIG EXPLOSIVE steps to create distance. i am 34 now and just recently took up boxing and that has been my BIGGEST issue is trying not to EXPLODE away from every punch when i slip /weave. etc would love to see you do a video on how YOU would incorporate these slips into your stance while "hopping" ( like how ALI taps from foot to foot ( not the ali shuffle just his normal BOUNCE ) cuz thats another thing i am having trouble with... is going from the balls of my feet / slight bounce to a slip. it feels SLOW and awkward. anyways. . great video !
@@dariofranic5056 sure sir to each his own. im comparing how they teach karate with very specific movements that you try to perfect. He is teaching very specific movements on how to do a slip. if you cant see similarities oh well. cancer boy negatron
hello Charles that defense that is needed only uses the squat as it would be the correct way the back foot is it only on the metatarsal or the foot is all on the floor
I don't know why the hell our coaches don't learn us these things, the only reason is they don't know anything about this stuff just one two and go to sparring and eat all the kinds of punishment, anyway, very thankful my brother and teacher coach Charles for this great videos.
Thank you Ali... I like attention to detail but I see many coaches don't. My background in teaching has made me coach thoroughly and get boxers to "enjoy" sparring.
Thank u i always have problem with slipping. Even when i doing it on a bag or mitts it just feels awkward and weird. I overused side steps and the only head movement i can do is side to side before and after punches. Btw can i put the weight on the front foot when slipping?
Good question... slipping on the second step would be used when you want to bait your opponent after taking the first step and then slipping on the second step. Sometimes your opponent tries to attack in between your steps to catch you out.
8:55 why is he taking a step forward with his front food completely with his foot down? Isn't it better to stay on your toes instead of having a flat foot down?
It depends . Loads of guys fight flat footed . Loads of guys also look flat footed but their weight is still on the balls of the feet . If I want to through hard shots it’s flat feet connected to the floor for power . Tom yankello teaches flat feet and he’s one of the best coaches out there
I was watching Andy Cruz in his most recent Olympics match. He’s amazing and use the Cuban style perfectly. Are there any other Cuban boxers you recommend to watch or non-USA fighters?
Julio Cesar La Cruz is another monster, and in general every cuban in the national team. In amateur boxing cuban, uzbeks, kazaks, russians, ucranians are my favorites.
I've gotta say that in my mind you taught this way higher level than Teddy Atlas in his courses. GOLDEN!
Thanks Robin and I won't tell him you said that 😁👍🏾
My fav coach on UA-cam now.
Always call Charles "Coach"! This video has to be one of best and has filled in my blanks on moving and punching.

The different type of slips on either front or back foot is very insightful.
I so badly needed this now I’m gonna practice it till its 2nd nature thanks a-lot charles keep up the good work.
Very intersting. This is the first time I've seen slipping on the move broken down. I had to rewind to several times to not get confused by when the slip was done as I have never been taught anything other than the static slip and the front forward slip.
Yes slips when static can be performed from the hip... and on the go, from the backfoot

Oh that is good to know... Liverpool is definitely going to be on the cards for traveling early next year.
