Thermalright isn't Done Yet - Peerless Assassin 140 & More
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 чер 2024
- The Thermalright air cooling lineup is actually expanding with the Peerless Assassin 140, Royal Knight 120, Royal Preytor Ultra and more. Some of these could (technically) beat the Noctua D15 G2 based on Thermalright's own competitive analysis numbers.

Didn't expect thermalright to have a booth. At this rate everyone else will go bankrupt.
Yeah Noctua comes with their 150$ cooler and Thermalright rips them apart with 40$. :D
@@gucky4717 they probably won't beat noctua in raw performance, but anyone who isn't dripping with money can't afford to care.
@@ventilate4267 in think they will be on pair. Already now peerless assassins 120 beats noctua d15, so i expect the 140 to be at least on pair to new d15 (noise normalized ofc)
@@gucky4717 It's absurd that I still see Noctua stuff in computers that aren't absolutely top specd, with the prices of those coolers and fans you can easily get a CPU or GPU that's at least 1 tier above the one you picked and have actual improvements in computing.
And that's not even mentioning now we have stuff that actually ties or straight up beats Noctua in RAW performance
@@ventilate4267in many cases it can beat Noctua and in many others it comes so close even with top of the line cpus it makes no sense to get Noctua.
Everytime I'm more convinced that Thermalright is a non-profit organization, formed by kind-hearted PC enthusiasts that just want to see the cooling market burn. Best cooling company ever.
"cooling market burn" nice double pun I guess
Nah they are more focused on moving high amounts of units rather than high margins. Thats why a lot of their coolers sit always on the amazons best sellers list
After seeing the new $150 Noctua air cooler, I’m inclined to believe what you say might be true!
I also reckon that's the case. Their margins must be so low. And check the website, they have like 80 models in every shape, size and colour. That's got to be a logistical nightmare
I like how they forced the market to compete with their pricing. Sucks that tariffs eat away from it's crazy affordability. In a larger market like EVs, Thermalright I feel would be treated like BYD. The only difference is car manufacturers have convince government it's a threat to compete with such low prices and would destroy the industry otherwise. As a result there is a 100% tariff on these EVs. Funny how money is first over the claims of helping the environment.
Common sense: There's no such thing as "budget high-end"
Thermalright: Hold my beer.
The Towers with the front display and the stand are approximately 300$/€.
So yeah,those things are optional.
At least on The Tower 300.
Thermalright's been making great coolers at reasonable prices for decades now. Their only problem is when people mistake them for dogshit Thermaltake
They were slow to adapt to the "aesthetics" era, they had some pretty ugly coolers. Kinda how noctua is.
Yeah i remember when Intel released the Core2duo cpus years ago and Thermalright made some really banging heatsinks with Scythe, both went away for a bit but have come back in later years.
OGs would know the TRUE120. Whatever the reason was, I'm glad they are back.
Yes I am sure everything Thermaltake does is crap🙄 .
I go to mental institution then for planning The Tower 300/600 build then
I’m telling you, best decision ever to put Mike in front of the camera, the explanation and methodology in his videos are always top.
I don’t even need a cooling solution for now, but his videos are always a must-watch.
love the enthusiasm! frankly, thermalright just owns the aircooling market...tough competition for Noctua.
Yeah bit noctua is 3x as much
Thermalright/hardware canucks?? Instantly clicking the video.
You're the only person I care to listen to about air coolers.
noctua guy is the guy... its not always about the money
Thanks so much. Really appreciate it.
Mike is the best when it comes to reviewing air coolers. Love his enthusiasm about air coolers.
Dang, thermalright you guys are crazy (in a good way).
We need to have a tier list for thermalrights air coolers.
Air cooler squad where are you at? Smash that like button right now!😎👍
guess ill be air cooling my 9950x with a Royal Preytor Ultra. This is absolutely incredible work from Thermalright...
And I’ll be cooling my 7800X3D with one!
Tbh, I would go for a 360mm rad for a top tier chip like that.
For 7800x3d is absolutely perfect
Anyone know height? thanks
@@michalsvihla1403 I would rather pay $45 for a top-end Thermalright air cooler and still be able to run my 9950x at similar or even the same boost levels as an AIO.
The only way I'm getting an AIO is if I am going to overclock, and in that case I'm getting a 420mm. I really don't understand the point of the 360mm and smaller AIOs aside from unique layout challenges that prevent large air coolers. AIOs have way higher cost and lower reliability than air coolers, so if I'm going to bother with those annoyances then I want the best possible performance.
Thermalright to Noctua: I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk, the way that you dress 🎶
😭😭😭
We dont want you saying N-octua nomore we dont want you saying N-octua nomore🎶
I even hate the way you paint the fans, but that's just me I guess.
its actually 1/3rd the price of the d15 v2
I was hoping for a new 140mm cooler. Didn't expect two 😂
$35 and $45 too like wtf? lol
Id very much like to see a fan replacement test on cheaper version go against the stock better version because otherwise I see no reason you wouldn't just pony up for the better version every time.
@@xXEPIKgamerXx
Just get 3 and if it breaks just replace it haha lol
I got a thermal right assassin for $10 out of a bargain resale bin. Never heard of them before and the cooler is FANTASTIC
Looking forward to the Peerless Assassin 140 and Royal Preytor Ultra test results.
Can’t wait to see you guys test these new coolers esp. the two Preytor ones (I wonder if they meant to call them Praetor?)
This is one assassin that has no peers
Deepcool: oh, come on, I was the first one to release an assassin cooler!
😢😢😢
@@nathangamble125
Not enough S's on your product name. Get lost buddy!
Noctua: I'm in danger
Thermalright trying to assassinate the CPU cooler market
They indeed have that peerless spirit
Will be great to see comparisons with new noctua.
Wish the new Noctua cooler hit the market with chromax
They’re really lagging behind
The phantom spirit 120 evo is genuinely the best cpu cooler I've used. Excited to see how these new ones perform!
Thermalright, the people's cpu cooler
People's republic of thermalright
Volkskeuler
Thermalright is rightfully the king of thermals
Thermalright are the heroes we need
That Preytor ultra is gonna be the killer one
I love Thermalright and Arctic. Such great products with reasonable pricing.
Once these release, can you do a tier list or compile a performance chart of all the new Thermalright coolers stacked up to popular existing ones (PA 120, PS 120 Evo, PS 120, FS 140, FC 140, etc.)?
Great idea
Great content. I will have one of those in my future build.
Makes me want to build as many PCs as TR has air coolers. Can't wait for your testing results!
Glad to see premium like products at reasonable prices without compromises, same with coming cases.
dang thermalright keep bringing value first!
I just love these guys. Bought the underrated Grand Macho RT back in 2018 for my 1800X and it's now happily cooling a 5700X. Stuck a Peerless Assasin at €34 for another build, and it is just ridiculous value
I’ve been using these Thermalright coolers for a while now. I love these coolers.
Fantastic news and value can't wait to see the independent reviews
I love their coolers. The AIO's are amazing value too.
This has been my favorite video of Computex so far! Psyched to see them being tested.
wow didnt expect 140mm air cooler thats overkill. my phantom spirit evo is already giving my 7800x3d a cooling time
I also remember that ID-Cooling Frozn A720 is like $70, and I thought that was reasonable. But not Thermalright came out with 140mm dual tower and says "hello, this one priced $35"
It's for all the people running Intel CPUs lol
I have a Phantom Spirit EVO I put on my 7800x3D earlier this year.
Might be FOMO but I'm definitely getting the itch to upgrade to one of these newer models.
Phantom Spirit 120SE with 7800x3D here. No itch on my end, this combination of cooler and cpu is pure bliss. And we got the amazing 4k 240hz QD-OLEds this year too. Gaming is awesome right now! Now only the GPUs need to play catch-up
Thermalright has earned my respect for coolers, I have 2 air coolers and a 120mm AIO from them and they are flawless for the price!
Finally, a thermalright coverage. Shame that they don't have a low profile cooler.
But they do already have very good low profile coolers for sale!
They have their AXP lineup, but nothing new :(
The AXP47-90 is probably the best 47mm or lower cooler on the market.
Ironically they have the best low profile cooler on the market what ru on about

The fact that he's never heard of it, and the fact that I AM aware of it (saved somewhere on an old Amazon parts list), but would need to go search to remember what it's called...
... is exactly the definition of Thermalright's marketing/market-share problem.
It's about time, Mike! (It's Thursday already! 😯) 👍🏼
Thank you! 🙏🏼
i'm glad to see them doing well again. they've always made basically the best performing *and* best value coolers, but in the 2010s they almost entirely dropped out of the north american market, so younger people had no idea who they were, and would instead buy noctua coolers that were 3x the cost for roughly the same performance.
I've been watercooling since my first desktop build back in 2011, started on AIO then went open loop and only a few months ago.. after 13 years of water..
I got a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 mini. It's honestly insane how well this works for the size
My only complaint is after getting so used to small pump heads and blocks, even this mini tower still feels quite chunky and it was hard to install in an Inwin A1 due to that chonk
Thermalright is god tier air cooling, they are on their own league in price, in performance, I don't have words
I love aircooling 😍
Is there any information about the release date of that coolers??? I can't wait!!! 😅😄
I'm so sad that thermalright isn't in my country 😢
I bought a Phantom Spirit after I saw the 30th video of you telling me the coolers are good. Although I couldn't believe you at first, the cooler didn't disappoint me - thanks for your ongoing praises, Thermalright deserves it. 👍😍
Thermaltake?😏
You missed the great Frozen Vortex 140 in this video ...
6:11 Hey, wait a minute!
Was that _Marcus?_
(Cheeky bugger! Get outta the shot! 🤣 🤣🤣)
Can’t wait for these to come to market ❤
Even their AIOs are pretty budget, and as confusing as this lineup is going to be, the value is breathtaking
Imagine if they release a “unifan” version of their 120mm ARGB fans for a slight premium (similar to what SAMA is doing), every other fan manufacturer would go bankrupt
There is. But another OEM: Prism 4RS V2 / Teucer JM-5
You didn't mention it on the video but the Royal Preytor Ultra has 7 heatpipes while the non-ultra has 6.
love em....am running 120 on CVFz
Thermalright knows their stuff. The best air cooler i ever bought was the macho rev b. Still rocking since 2015.
Great vid! Tyvm :)
Excellent range of fans and great performance too at affordable prices! One question I have using my FS140, does the extra weight impact on longevity of motherboards? Look forward to your reviews 👍
love these dirt cheap coolers, they work great
can't wait for you to test them
cant wait to see these benchmarked
Really impressed with Thermalright. I had a Silver Soul 135 on an overclocked 4790K. Temps were always in the 50s for gaming.
Can't wait to try their axp90 x53 copper edition for i5 14400!
ive never seen a company come in and dominate a segment the way thermalright has. its pretty craxy.
The royal knight looks actually great. Didn't even know of the memory compatibility advantage of the fuma, but glad to see such an offering from TR. I ran into this very issue myself where the front fan on my PA covers up the ram's rgb, so I ended up swapping both fans to pull, losing the rgb on those fans. I've also since been recommending people get just an rgb-less ram kit if they're going with a PA or PS with rgb since you'd have to pick between cooler and ram rgb anyway. And yes they're easily my favorite cooler company out there right now, glad to see them continuing on the value path!
If the RK benches at the same cooling performance of the PS it will be a insta buy for me.
@@SahiPie Fair point, obviously gotta wait on reviews
Very interesting line-up! Is there any information on when these will release? I don't want to push back my new build :D
When are these expected to be available?
Any information about the launch of the Royal Preytor Ultra?
Thermalright aims to take out every cooler company in existence lmao, can't wait for you or Steve to get your hands on all of them for testing.
Thermalright coolers are awesome!
That's so wild that we have these kind of prices. Super happy I used the Peerless Assassin on my first build. Easy to install, DOES ITS JOB WELL, and got it for $35 dollars. Like, you can't beat it! How do you beat it?
Great coolers! I own Assasin 120 Se! TOP
Dang man....that cooler with a simple LCD screen is nice. If you can put that into one of the dual fan coolers that would be awesome.
Reallly awaiting the test results.
Any word on when these are shipping yet?
120mm Vison for $25 is crazy value
When are they releasing these new coolers?? Cant find any info
Would love to see a review of the Peerless Assassin 120 mini some day
Wow really looking forward to that praetor thing. It's really incredible what price to performance thermalright is able to deliver. I am wondering whether they are going to fit into my og nr200 like the peerless assassin and phantom spirit.
def going to get one for the new pc
That Assassin Spirit 120 Vision is gonna be a market assassin. Hell, all of them are.
My go to now.
Love it :)
I'm a Thermalright's fan and customer for life. I love my Thermalright PS120SE ARGB. It's selling for 35 bucks right now. Unbelievable! Keeping my 7800X3D nice and cool.
Im still running my Thermalright Macho revB on one of my pc's, its still beastly!
With these many coolers, Thermalright is making sure Mike's wont lose his jobs for foreseeable future. In fact, Mike might've to work extra hours till the next holiday season.
He sounded so excited about these air coolers. Like a child in Disneyland
"...for under $45"..while the on screen graphic says "> $45" lol. No big deal but just thought it was funny and likely a reflection of how much hard work yall have to do for these shows to keep up and release videos. Much appreciated
Was thinking about buying the phantom spirit, but after seeing this i might just wait and see how these perform in the reviews.
Thermalright is the best in air cooler market, glad you visit their side.
well goddamn. I dunno if I should get the Peerless Assassin 140 or that memory compatible one when I build my AM5 system. Looking forward to the benchmarks!
I really hope your gonna get to review a lot of these air coolers shortly, and then ultimately do one of your comparison sessions where they go head to head. Absolutey will be waiting fingers crossed thats its not too far away.
Yeah, though we are waiting on more testing until a bit later.
It will be amazing if you guys did a review roundup of as many Thermalright coolers as you can i'm pretty sure there are some unknown gems in their lineup
That's what everyone says.....but I think I'd seriously hate the process. Haha
@@HardwareCanucks almost torture at that point 😂😂
whatever you feel like is appropriate keep doing the good work
In Fullmetal Alchemist, it takes a lot of lives to create a Philosopher's Stone. Thermalright has to be making thousands of sacrifices to the cooling gods to be able to make these heatsinks so affordable.
Thermalright is my favorite cooler brand! Cheap and effective! And they look good! All 7 pcs in my family are running thermalright aios and air coolers
i would love to see thermalright do more sff coolers like their 3u silver soul or even make server coolers for 2u form factors
i still buy only thermalright since 2022 for my custom builds, also the rgb fans if customer need some. cant say anything worse and the new lineup looks much cleaner and nicer, cant wait for it.
When are they coming out to buy on market??
Thermalright all the way! Im getting one of these and will continue to recommend their coolers to everyone, simply amazing.
When will these coolers be available?
The price cut is the best thing any company can do, and I like it 👍
Thermalright currently is my go to brand for CPU coolers!!! They are really really good, very silent and the design has gotten so much better nowadays!!!
And better in price to performance than noctua
@@mtaufiqn5040 yes, very very good value for money!
With so many fk ups companies had with their recent products, the only things I'm excited for are cases, coolers, and used parts. Watching this gives me a marketplace vibes. Very exciting.
I recently tried to get a Frost Spirit 140 only to find it had all disappeared off the typical vendors over night and the response from thermalright was along the lines of "we already have too many similar product so we're getting rid of it". I now see it because they are replacing it with the Peerless Assassin 140.
Supposedly they Commander isn't being replaced by the Phantom Spirit 140. The 140 will be for more modern CPUs due to its more compact base while the Commander, with its larger base will continue being an optimal solution for older processors.
