In this short video, Johannes from Victron Energy answers a couple of questions that we collected from different platforms (Victron Community, email, social media, etc).
    Subjects in this episode:
Q1: Can I simultaneously charge a Supercycle battery and a Lithium battery?
Q2: I read in the datasheet that you can connect 5 Lithium batteries in parallel, but for the 12V only 4 pieces and for the 24V only 2, why is this?
Q3: I have a MPPT 150/85. On many occasions, on clear sky, the controller reaches the maximum of 85A and remains that for quite some time. Will this cause any problem?
Q4: I have a sealed lead acid as starter and an AGM house battery. Can I use the Cyrix CT between them?
Q5: There is some confusion in the Victron community about what “Pass Thru” is on a MultiPlus.
It seems to go to Pass Thru mode when the Multi is set in Charger Only mode and the AC load demanded from the circuits exceeds the 240v supply threshold.

Am a big fan of all your great products having some in my Installation. A product which would be a great additional one ... would be an energy meter with Schuko contacts, minimal standby power and bluetooth option. I am sure that product would be a big win since the most energy meters on the market are not exact working and many people would like to measure the Watt Input from their small Solar Installations connected to their Schuko home connector in a simple way as well as the Watt power used by some devices to identify devices Watt consumption

Hi, which cable type do you recommend for wiring between battery and Multiplus 3k in Campervan? FLY, H07V-K, H01N2-D? Or something completely different? Thank you!

For Victron Smart Solar mppt 75/15 in 12v system: If a small 12v circuit (less than 5amp) is connected to the load terminal, will there be power to the load terminal from the battery if the pv terminal is not connected?

    • @victrontech
      @victrontech Рік тому

Yes , the load output is connected to the battery and this output will be stopped when the battery voltage gets low . The pv has no control in this

F we have a brown out, how does the multi handle synchronising then? Or does it just disconnect the grid until stable

Question No.1: Can I install more than one smart battery sense in the same V.E. smart network, in order to monitor more than one non-VictronEnergy LiFePO4 battery banks connected in parallel?
Question No.2: Is it possible to enable more virtual switches in the VRM dashboard control screen? i.e. to bring the system remotely in to a "forced" pass through mode, in order to take advantage of lower grid tariffs, while saving the battery for the time of the expensive grid tariff.

I still cant understand what current tail to set to my 100/50 Mppt with my two parallel AGMs. Anywhere i search everyone has a different explanation what that is. Is it a THE protection limit for the batteries to prevent them from overcharging or a secondary protection when the absorption is set to adaptive mode? I have mine set to 3 amps but the absorption stops at diferent amps like 5 or 4 or 7 , different each time. Or is the limit when using not adaptive absorption? I dont get it.

Hello. I have a 2020 Peugeot Boxer with 20,000 km and the booster doesn't charge me every time and when it charges me it doesn't charge as fast as it should. The battery is a Victron 12.8V Lithium Superpack 100Ah 1280Wh LiFePO4 and the booster is a Victron Orion Tr-smart 12/12-30 non isolated. The times that it charges I see that the input voltage is stuck at 14.4 but there are other times that it does not charge because the voltage that reaches it is lower and also oscillates so that it activates for a few moments but immediately turns off again. I have taken the van to the company where they have camperized it for me but they have not been able to fix the problem even after having spoken with Victron. That's why I wanted to ask you if you know where the fault could be.
    Thanks a lot

    Hi Johannes,
This is off the subject but my question is: can I run in parallel 2 o more 48/1200 Phoenix Inverter?

Hi, I installed a Cyrix 12/24 230A for 2 Optima YellowTop 75A batteries. One is dedicated for the engine and the other one only for some additional services (mainly heaters). I noticed that no matter the position of the cabin switch (either on or off), the auxiliary battery has a decrease of tension when I switch on the engine. It seems that both batteries are always connected and never isolated. Is it the correct working system of the Cyrix?

Hello, I bought the Blue Smart Charger IP22 12/30/(3) today and when my batteries (2x 12v 140ah in parallel) are charging the charger makes a disturbing loud enough humming noise. As the battery charges up the noise reduces. It doesnt get very hot but i didnt expect that noise from a premium charger like Victron. Im wondering if i need to send it back because its faulty or something but the store i got it from says they may need to send it to Victron which means i will be without a charger for at least two weeks which is not ok. Anyone else with same expirience on that noise ? Thank you.

I am trying to save electricity costs when connected to shore power. What is the best way to that with a Multiplus 2 GX, MPPT 150/70, Cerbo GX, Lynx GX.

My cousin and I are both making similar mini-systems in our Ice fishing houses. (100ah 12v lithium battery, Victron phoenix inverter, Victron bluesmart charger). If we add a single Victron 75/15 mppt Solar controller, can we wire it directly to the battery without issues with the 12v electrical system or battery? We just want to keep Things as simple as possible.
    Thank you,
    Matt from Minnesota.

I forgot to mention that will be alternating between 12v and 24v, and 1 or two identical batteries.
I am going to use 2 smaller solar panels in series and I want to get the most out of them. Would the 75/10 mppt be better in this situation? (Phoenix 250 inverter)

The settings need to be changed for different battery voltages as the MPPT only selects the battery voltage automatically the first startup

    Hello Victron
I am looking at installing a Victron Quattro 8000 along with my Pylontech batteries. I am yet to find an installer with any knowledge of victron. However I’ve found a U.K. supplier who can supply a Victron system, wiring diagrams and remote commission service.
One of my main requirement I would like is that I can discharged my battery storage to the grid when I choose and to make the most of the UKs time of use export tarrifs.
    Is this possible

Finding an installer should be not that hard. They are found on the were to buy page or your distributor can advise in this. Feeding to the grid requires some criteria , but is possible

Dear Sir, I intend to build an off-grid PV-system with possibility to switch to on-grid in Toril, Davao, Mindanao, Philippines. My challenge is the grid power is connected by 2 * 127 V = 220 V. There is no zero lead available. I calculated my power need for 5 kVA. I intend to place 10 PV-panels. The energy storage should be Li-phosphate batteries, 24V 300 Ah. d by 2 * 127 V = 220 V. No zero lead is available. The energy storage should be Li-phosphate batteries, 24V 300 Ah. How should I engineer the system.
