Wow what a brilliant video! I've often opened these devices and peered inside with very little idea what going on in there. I'm not an electronics technician but this was just at the right level for me to understand it. You are a very good teacher. I guess you know that all us cruising sailors love Victron. We need reliable equipment at the end of the earth.
Gidday Johannes Excellent explanation video. Thank you. I've been reccomending, installing and selling VE equipment for around 20 years and found the support excellent. Thank you for quality products.
A+ Must watch for system builders. Especially explaining sizing the inverters for most efficient use. With a walk through efficiency of the FET's that make the sine wave for the inverter at 11:40
Very cool to go so deep! Praise this competent presentation. A wish: Could you do a tech explain vidwo about the various relays in CerboGX and the 250 mppt charge controllers, please?
My favorite product so far!! Thanks!! How does the AC sync handle an 'eco throttle' generator like a Honda 3K inverter series? When load is added, the engine RPM increases. Will this cause the AC syncs to slip? I'm in the US and use 120VAC @ 60Hz with 12V batteries.
Hello I’m getting back to you about the multiplus can we use the ACin input not permanently on the network but just connect it to a 230V 20A socket (France) to just supply the ACin input to charge a park battery at night rate and use the ACout during the day to restore the energy to my electrical panel? because connecting the ACin to the network bothers me a little because you have to do a lot of procedures because if there is a risk of injection into the network you have to go through a Consuel I would especially like to be in self-consumption and from time to time be able to close the multiplus with a source inverter in my prolonged absence and switch to the direct network laurent
Hello. After watching this I was wondering if a Quattro 8000VA was capable outputting whatever the shore power was capable of (for example 4kW from shore) + the 8kW that the inverter is capable of for a total output of 12kW or the combination is limited to 8kW?
Yes sure , the pass thought is limited by the backfeed relay, often 50-100A , the output is then this plus the inverter power. Thats why often output cabling needed to be larger in size then the input wiring.
Could you pls assist, can MultiPlus-II be configured to work the following way: load is supplied by battery/mppt in inverter mode (1 priority) if exceed the max inverter power threshold it will take extra from grid (2 priority). Saying load is 7kva, inverter is 5kva and 2 kva goes from grid? Also if load goes less than inverter power it will not export to the grid (0 is allowed). If this is possible the MultiPlus-II GX version is enough or should I purchase separate cerbo or any other equipment?
@@VictronEnergyBV yes, my friend it sure was excellent video. Excellent product whenever I get a chance to afford a split phase unit. That’s what I’m looking to buy. Thanks thanks again.

We just planned filming more of these indeed
Thank you so much for this.
Which size inverter can I use for a 136A surge current produced by a 3kW, single phase, 230V induction motor?
for a 3kW is a startup of 4-6 x the nominal power needed. Please contact the dealer for more details on models

there is a setting called dynamic current limiter which has a AC input level variation based on the power over a period.
Apparently, it comes from God, then to Johannes, & finally to everyone else.
Yous-bes The-Man Johannes ;)

Amazing videos. Your products look superb.
great video, I use Victron for my whole house! :) :) I will be asking support some questions soon!

Hello, yes this can be done with the ESS feature (with feedback disabled)
Your dealer can help you advise in this further.
Does the relay close when the inverter is turned off, so that AC power passes from the input to the output?
no, the relay opens (otherwise the inverter would be powered from shore when inactive)
@@JohannesBoonstra-ol2nz so you have to have the inverter on all the time when plugged into shore power?
@@jmpattillo yes, or select the charger only function so it will charge/passthrough when shore is available
Pls I have the victron and is 5000watts inverter but I want victron control charger. Pls how it cost?
which Victron inverters are Low frequency?
they are all hybrid, so partly HF and partly LF , mainly for isolation /robustness on peak capabilities . the RS models are all HF only
The symbol drawn for FETs looks more like a diode. 3:34
Sorry , it is a fet
the symbol drawn is a thyristor , probably mosfets are used, since they have higher efficiency, therefore stay cooler
domme vragen zijn er niet maar kan je ok koelen met water neem aan dat de toren warm worden???
In principe wel, paar daar zijn deze units (vanwege de geringe warmte ontwikkeling) niet voor gemaakt.
Please can I get control board
I’m sorry, but the guy in the background on the phone that was a little bit rude
It was a fully open and operational chandlery shop.
