I feel the same way. Every time I hear the Hello Friends it’s just so sincere and warm and well friendly. I look forward to Saturday mornings especially because I’m not at work and I sit on the porch with my coffee and hang out with ALL my friends here.
It sounds like a product that would work for “senior” eyes.

@@brendatravis248 Yes sheen and or sunshades are very friendly to mature eyes because they don’t emphasize texture nor do they look dry like matte shadows sometimes can. A drugstore brand that is geared towards the more mature beauty consumer is number seven and they have some nice products. I enjoyed their eight pan eyeshadow palette in the cool tones although there are some other choices. I have plenty of mascara but once I run out(which will be a while) I’ll be trying the 360 lash formula of their mascara. I’m also curious about the concealer. The powders are pretty good I hear a lot of good things about the lift and lemonade but my shade is usually sold out. The perfect light seems to work pretty well though but it’s good for people with oilier skin. And the packaging is just luxe.
When I was in college I wore Fawn Satin from Clinique everyday. This reminds me of the Pink Chocolate duo that was available at that time. Anyone else remember the mirrored sliding drawer packaging??
This is the eyeshadow I wore on my wedding day! I went to the Clinique counter weeks before and had them do my makeup as a test. And I ended up buying the blush and eyeshadow and did it myself on the actual day! I hit pan but I still have it for sentimental purposes 😍

Clinique is one of the brands, like MAC that we no longer talk about. All I wore in high school was Clinique. I worked at Macy’s in a high school and the Clinique Makeup Artists were so coveted. With the new makeup market flooded with the new brands we forget sometimes where we used to be! Thanks Emily for reminding us of our roots! I ♥️💄
I fully feel Clinique's shadows are wwwaayyyy under rated
That’s so interesting because I’ve purchased (& also returned) 2 different Clinique palettes. They just weren’t good. HOWEVER, I have tried a similar Clinique duo (was free w/purchase) & they definitely were much nicer shadows. The shades were deep plum & a shimmery pink. But I can’t say I felt their shadows were underrated or like a hidden gem simply because I don’t purchase duos. But both Clinique palettes I’ve tried were sold on Ulta (I’m pretty sure) & one doesn’t exist anymore but the other was an 8 pan & has several color varieties & the reviews weren’t great. So I’m guessing that the duos must be a much better formulation.
So expensive though!
@@Allyson6C I've only have duos and a couple quads from Clinique, so it's possible they are better than the bigger palettes. I've not tried one of their bigger palletes, but I may not now if they aren't good.

My mom took me to a Clinique makeup counter in the early 90s for my first compact. The sales associate matched me to a slim trio that had the two colors you have plus a cream. I loved it so much. It really did compliment my brown eyes and there was no way for me to mess up the look.
When you said it "brings you out of the dark and into the light," I almost jumped up to shout Haleluhia!
I like this as it’s a little more instructional than reviews, which we don’t see as much anymore. I feel like we could pick two similar colors and it’s more a process than anything.

I LOVE these videos like this that you do. As a mom of a special needs child, I don't have a lot of time to sit in front of the mirror, so these types of looks are extremely practical for me. Thank you so much, for showing content like this...most other beauty youtubers don't do these simple, but beautiful eye looks that everyone can do. Most other beauty youtubers do unrealistic makeup that most people would only take the time to do on Halloween or a special occasion. There just really needs to be more content like this.

This finish is so pretty. People underestimate Clinique makeup and you just don’t see it used much on UA-cam. I’m all about simplicity and I can’t bother with the multiple steps of some eye looks. I know some people love it but it’s just not for me. This is great! Maybe show us more from Clinique.
I would watch your videos no matter what, Emily! This duo reminds me of the Clinque duo I used all through college - Pink Chocolates. Not sure if they still make it but it was my go to!
Prior to Covid the Pink Chocolate lipstick was still available in the U.S. I wore it for years.🙋.
I used pink chocolates all through high school and college. I had that duo and some touch base for eyes that I used ALL the time. I don’t even remember there being giant palettes like we have now back in the early 2000s. 🤣
One of these duos is called Strawberry Fudge!
The shades Gypsy and Wild Child in the BareMinerals Copper eyeshadow palette, or Mystic and Indie in the Neutral palette, will give the same effect - I do that combo a lot.
I have always loved Clinique eyeshadows. I'm a retired makeup artist in hairdresser a 35 years in my humble opinion I think Clinique Shadow is the most under promoted an underused eyeshadows out there. The finishes are so soft and beautiful. They are so buttery soft and easy to blend. The Buttery creaminess of the product is very forgiving on more mature skin. Just love them especially pink chocolates and teddy bear quads
I really like their lipsticks and just got a palette. Very excited to try their shadows.
I have that exact duo! I love Clinique shadows. I bought it to take on a cruise because i wanted something small because we went carry on only. I really love this little duo.

I love Clinique’s Black Honey eyeshadow palette and I get so many compliments on it when I wear it.
YES Emily! Let's take it back to simplicity with eyeshadow. I wouldn't give up the collection I've amassed, but I do think the palette craze of the last few years has taken up too much stage. There can be a beautiful art to focusing on just a couple of shadows or a duo. I'd be all in if you went on a hunt for more "best duos" to do a series on!!

I have loved Clinique Eye Shadow Duos. I am obsessed with the Like Mink duo. I have 3 at home and am always buying more because I am afraid they will discontinue it. They discontinued the lid smoothies which I used to love.

Thank u for this video! As a mature gal with the trifecta of slightly crepey, hooded lids with minimal lid space, i dont need huge palettes to play with. This sounds perfect.
I learned from Mary Ellen after 60 to use a retinol product on the upper lid (not on the eyelid). It seems to "creep" down a bit which is what I want. I think it has truly helped with the crepey skin there.
I used to have something similar from Clinique “back in the day”…man this makes me think i need to pick it up!! 🙏🏻for your father!!
This is the best easy glam look that looks easy to do but has the perfect 'I took my time' look without actually doing so. These are the type of looks that I like to do during the summer for a quick look that I can just run out the house with. Wow, Jane Cosmetics, I used to love their mascara and face powder.

For years--when I want a quick and easy look--I grab my Clinqiue "Teddy Bear" quad--which is four great light beige to deep brown matte shades that work beautifully together. It's a "no mistake possible" eye shadow quad. Wouldn't miss any of your videos. You always brighten my day.

I love videos like this. I’m not an expert makeup artist, but I love makeup. This type of video is essential for learning how to apply a seemingly simple shadow, and making it look stunning. Emily, thank you. I know it sounds silly, it’s “just makeup”, but the technique and different uses for brushes and the sponge tip, are extremely useful. I learn something with every video. As an added bonus, your personality and honesty shines through. Love love love.
This duo is absolutely up my alley! I want a simply everyday eye with a slight sheen (satin or fine shimmer at most). I think glitter eyeshadow is beautiful on other people but I can't handle the fallout/I always end up with glitter in my eye.

Wow, I haven't heard someone mention this line in years and I do have one of there duos a plum and golden shade which I love. I don't know why I din't buy more because they are so easy to wear and no thinking is required. This look is perfect for you Emily. I will have to look into these eyeshadows again. Back in the day I used those Clinique duo shadows all the time and always used the applicator that came with it. I had like a pink gold/ bronze brown shade and it was gorgeous. May need to revisit that.
I love this. Not too many people do videos on brands like this. I really like this because it shows that these brands do put out beautiful things. Some of us just want to enhance our beauty beautifully, rather than transforming ourselves into Instagram makeup girls.

Jane eyeshadow memory there. I still have a Jane Eye Zinger in Tangy that I use all the time. It is the color of powdered Tang exactly and looks great as a one and done on my hazel eyes.
I will never not watch these videos I love seeing hidden gems and a little bit of in-depth on how one product can really be versatile. I love it! Keep it coming! There was a Clinique Duo I adored called shell / minx (I think?) and every time I wore that satiny midtone brown in my crease people wouldn't always ask me what was on my eyes.

I've had that Clinique duo for a while now and it has been my absolute favorite. It looks so much better on the eyes than it does in the pans. I don't go full-on dark with the dark shade, I just sheer it out in my crease and it looks so nature when you put on just a bit.

I was obsessed with the Clinique eyeshadow duo in the shade “strawberry fudge” for many years before I knew how to do eyeshadow. It was such a simple way to do my eye makeup. I sometimes feel like picking it up again for old time sake, but I probably have those 2 colors in other eyeshadow pallets.

This video is so fun! Ever since you called it the sandwich method back in the day I totally took that phrase on! I love that you reviewed this little clinique duo, I actually had been eyeing them for so long on ulta’s site back in november. I ended up getting the duo in “beach plum” as a bday gift for myself hehe! It has the exact effect you are taking about here, except the lighter shade is a glowy gold and the darker shade is the most beautiful purple with gold sparkles! I must add it isn’t the annoying kind of sparkles that fall on your face, the good kind🤣 thought I would share, thanks for brightening my day❤️☺️

This reminds me of The Estee Lauder pure color duo in Raisins. It was my first eye shadow that wasn't from the drugstore. I wore it everyday till the pan was empty.
