    Return of the AXE! And, of course, the always-handy sponge...Nice old school technique, Mike. You make a simple job simple, as opposed to making a big deal out of it, the way a lot of so-called contractors do in order to make more $$$. I tackle all kinds of repair jobs these days that I would have never touched before I got on to your videos.

    I am not sure if you have ever mentioned this but when ever you mix fast setting products never use the dirty water from the cleanup. This water contains the chemical that causes these products to set up and they may react a lot faster with dirty water from previous clean up. So always use clean water to mix a new batch!

    My son bought a townhome in South Philly which records show was built early 1920’s. For his birthday he’d like us to dry lok his basement (which has never been painted or finished). I noticed the walls have some crumbly spots and although no water problem in basement, there is moisture. Should we use something on walls prior to painting with Dry lok? Or do something completely different?

    Love your videos. What would you do with a thin crack in basement concrete wall as seen from the inside which starts just below window level and goes down to the floor. It is off to the side, not directly under the window. Not caused by downspout placement or obvious bad pitch of ground outside. It gets leaks with a tiny puddle of water when there are extreme rains here in sw Ohio. Has not gotten worse over many years but not good to sell a house that way.

    Hey mike great content, I always notice how your paint brush sops up plenty paint spreads it with ease and seems the Brissles have plenty give and hold lots of material. Until your videos I was just mixing bonding adhesive with type S mason mix. Recently I started redoing the inside of my 170 year old field stone foundation and I decided let’s go old school ,so for the inside I will be using the Portland water mix for adhesive and use your Ratios to mix my own mortar . I want your freaking paint brush if you can point me to it and secondly when rebuilding the windowsill I have two bags of pre mix type s , will I have a problem with consistency if I use the pre mix bags I have left to build up the sill and use my own mixed Portland to finish the wall face ??

    • @MikeHaduck
      @MikeHaduck  2 роки тому +1

      Hi thrifty, sometimes I will use the premix s mortar, if I think it is too weak I will add a little Portland, but I use what I did on my videos depending on the situation, thanks Mike

I see you recommend the use of a Portland cement As I also live in north eastern PA.
