Mike another great video, Thanks. I have to think that the owner must be upstairs, thinking, "Gee I must have hired a nut, he is in the basement and has been talking to himself the whole time he has been doing the job".
Hi TP, good point, lol, Mike
Spounge out my cousin car seat🤣🤣🤣🤣 Keep up good work Mike never miss a video.
Thanks Mig, Mike
that's my favorite MH joke so far. imho, the deadpan delivery made the joke work especially well.
I bet a ton of contractors play into the customers fear of an imminent wall collapse and talk them into spending ten times the cost of a simple patch job.
Thanks Joe, I see that happen, Mike
I sold my teeth so I had my dentist do a patch job like this. She also said it "was no big deal." Thanks for the video Mike! Great stuff as always!
Thanks Mike, Mike
Super results like usual! Always a great day when I get notified you have a new video. Thanks Mike. Hope you are having a perfect day.

Return of the AXE! And, of course, the always-handy sponge...Nice old school technique, Mike. You make a simple job simple, as opposed to making a big deal out of it, the way a lot of so-called contractors do in order to make more $$$. I tackle all kinds of repair jobs these days that I would have never touched before I got on to your videos.
Thanks Bill, I appreciate it, Mike
Congratulations Mike, keep on doing difficult jobs stating they are not big deals!
Thanks Pedro, Mike
Another good example of how to meet your customer’s needs. What a tremendous resource for masonry repairs. Thanks Mike
Thanks Joel, Mike
I always enjoy a Mike Haduck masonry vid. I think I have watched every one on your channel...keep em comin Mike...thanks.
Thanks Darren, I appreciate it, Mike
NICE JOB.
Thanks josian, Mike

Thanks Eman, Mike
Love the commentary, MIKE while you workIng .👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks Joseph, Mike
nice job!! I had a teacher years back who always advised KISS (keep it simple stupid) lol. Did your cousin notice the missing car cushion?? lol
Thanks Sue, lol, Mike
Have had positive experiences using Drylok …. Impressive product thanks for the video Mike!
Thanks Thor, Mike
Thanks for sharing your expertise. It looked good 👍
Thanks Joao, Mike
Great job Mike. I would love to see a video on jobs that you think are a big deal. What I mean by that is expert commentary on jobs that may quickly escalate to disasters, or jobs you may refuse or anything that makes Mike Haduck say this is a big deal. Thanks again for all you do, for all of us.
Thanks Raymond, I guess the ones I turn down are the time consuming ones, or where there is a lot of machinery involved, or anything that could come back on me, these days I like the small simple ones, thanks mike
Mike puts the customers minds at ease when he tells them it’s no big deal. I would hate to see a job that he thought it was a big deal then we know it would be a REALLY big deal
thanks mike, you did your magic nice job..
Thanks Dave, Mike
I look forward to future videos

Thanks Jerry, Mike
@@MikeHaduck oh it's a another hot day in Indianapolis Indiana folks....am not going to work on my Chimney today.... tomorrow I be in the dental chair therefore I don't want extra body pains while I get dental repairs
Thank you Mike
Thanks Anthony, Mike
I've had to fix the soil grading a few times over the years which is often the cause of these bubbles. Nice work, Mike.
Thanks Brian, Mike
You give me the courage to tackle my basement problems with leaking when we have big rains thank you
Hi Roy, check out my video, basement water problem solutions, thanks Mike
Hi Mike,
Just did this on my cellar window wall! Looks like spackle was on there too. I patched it a couple of years ago now got rid of more loose stuff now. Instead of patching again I said “no big deal,” and just double drylocked it!!!
Thanks Michael, Mike
Thank you Mike. Thanks to you, I’m so much less afraid to take on Masonry job’s. Your the best 👍😎.
Thanks Jeffrey, Mike
Back watching more of your videos looking good

Mike has a high level of skill. He makes it all seem easy to do by an inexperienced person :)
Thanks Mike, Mike
Mike i love the work. I wish i could get you back up here to philly to do a basement job for me. Its getting water in and i dont know or trust anyone local. These people around here are out to make a fast $. I like it to be fixed the proper way with no big deal.

Hi Mike. I thought you were in my old house. Very familiar looking walls.😂
Thanks alm,, maybe. Mike
Can't wait for the next video!
Thanks James, Mike
I will use this method on the next job I do. My work is more extensive, but this will be the last step.
Thanks Wayne, if I had the luxury to wait a few days before I painted it ,I would have been happier, Mike
@@MikeHaduck Why is it better to wait some days?
Nice job Mike and explained to perfection!👍🏼
Thanks Mario, Mike
Thanks for sharing Mike - always watching man
Thanks Jack, Mike
Nice job Mike , you make it look easy.
Thanks Rocco, Mike
Mike
I am not sure if you have ever mentioned this but when ever you mix fast setting products never use the dirty water from the cleanup. This water contains the chemical that causes these products to set up and they may react a lot faster with dirty water from previous clean up. So always use clean water to mix a new batch!
Thanks David, I never heard that before, Mike
Excellent video Mike! I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us. I need to order a blue T-Shirt. Last time I order some items they were out of my size.
Thanks Bod, I appreciate it, Mike
Good job uncle mike👍comprende 🙏
Thanks Juan, Mike
Always enjoy your videos. Why not use a paint roller to apply the paint? Getting paid by the hour??
Hi Ryan, no, a paint roller dosent get in there, thanks mike
Can you use the same technique if you used regular mortar mix instead of the rapidset mix?
Hi Will, you can, but you could get shrink cracks and it takes a few days to dry up, most painters wait 30 days before they paint, thanks Mike
I use a pool scraper to find down high spots.
Thanks G, Mike
Do you think Dry lock is smart though all that water pressure on back side and brick is supposed to breath.. but looks really good 👍🏻
Hi Riel, I never had a problem, thanks Mike
Nice job bro 👍🏽
Thanks JR, Mike
Bom bom bom, done.
Yes Sir.
🙂
Thanks Richard, Mike
Groovy
Thanks Robert, Mike
In my basement there is block from 1961 starting to crumble in small sections. It starts of with a white crystal like fuzz then a year or so later a section ( 2 to 3 inches or so ) will fall off. Is this normal? And is this what you are fixing in this video? We are north of Allentown PA.
Hi Kyle, I am not there to see it but I would think so, I see it a lot, thanks mike
My son bought a townhome in South Philly which records show was built early 1920’s. For his birthday he’d like us to dry lok his basement (which has never been painted or finished). I noticed the walls have some crumbly spots and although no water problem in basement, there is moisture. Should we use something on walls prior to painting with Dry lok? Or do something completely different?
Hi Kathy, I can't say, I just show how I approach it, thanks Mike
Love your videos. What would you do with a thin crack in basement concrete wall as seen from the inside which starts just below window level and goes down to the floor. It is off to the side, not directly under the window. Not caused by downspout placement or obvious bad pitch of ground outside. It gets leaks with a tiny puddle of water when there are extreme rains here in sw Ohio. Has not gotten worse over many years but not good to sell a house that way.
Hi Johnny, I got a whole series on foundation repair and stone foundation repair, Mike haduck, you should find something similar in there, thanks Mike
‘Don’t make a project out of it’. I Ike that.
Thanks Ines, Mike
I've watch a few of you videos. You are so old school. Lot of knowledge. Where in pa are you located. May need a estimate if your close and I can't handle it redoing my stone foundation.
Thanks Mr. Clean, I am not taking on any more work this year, but thanks for asking, Mike
Lookin good, bet they sell that place for a fortune now a days.
Thanks, R, mike
Do you have any videos where you did have to fix more severe cracks inside the basement wall or floor? I am looking for a good injection type repair that won't break the bank.
Hi Joanie, all through out the series, foundation repair or stone foundation repair, Mike Haduck, thanks Mike
Hail to the King of Masonry! Mike, I have some of the same issues with my cellar walls as shown in this Foundation Repair (Part 22) video. Living in Zone 6, western Pennsylvania, where its a whopping -1 degree outside, would those cellar walls be too cold to work on? By the way, my cellar is not heated. Thanks kindly!
Hi Dee, if it's below freezing I don't, I usually don't do anything unless it's 40 and rising, and no freezes for 3 days, other masons might think different, thanks Mike
Mike did you ever use Sunny Dry cement paint. Made by Wall Firma in Monongahela PA. More cost effective than UGL
Hi Philip, I haven't been aware, but I will watch for it, thanks Mike
Hey mike great content, I always notice how your paint brush sops up plenty paint spreads it with ease and seems the Brissles have plenty give and hold lots of material. Until your videos I was just mixing bonding adhesive with type S mason mix. Recently I started redoing the inside of my 170 year old field stone foundation and I decided let’s go old school ,so for the inside I will be using the Portland water mix for adhesive and use your Ratios to mix my own mortar . I want your freaking paint brush if you can point me to it and secondly when rebuilding the windowsill I have two bags of pre mix type s , will I have a problem with consistency if I use the pre mix bags I have left to build up the sill and use my own mixed Portland to finish the wall face ??
Hi thrifty, sometimes I will use the premix s mortar, if I think it is too weak I will add a little Portland, but I use what I did on my videos depending on the situation, thanks Mike
@@MikeHaduck I know it’s really all gonna be situational. No big deal :) thank you keep up the good work
Hey Mike! I have been watching lots of your videos as I am restoring an old house it was built in the 1800s. I am currently re-pointing the stone foundation in the basement. I see you recommend the use of a Portland cement As I also live in north eastern PA. I’m curious do you use the same lime like a masonry lime for lime cement as you would for mixing your masonry mixes with Portland mixed in? Curious watcher thank you!
He said he doesn't. Lime doesn't last. The water runs down and if it freezes in the like.it will bust it up. He likes Portland and sand mix
Hi Brian, I did a video called " lime, mortar or portland" Mike haduck, I think I explain it best there, and I show mostly what i use in each video, I am not a fan of lime unless it's a old historic building with soft stone or brick, thanks Mike
👌🏽
Thanks Scott, Mike
well done. wondering, do you think/believe painting dry basement concrete block has any advantages aside from cosmetic? thanks for the reply, beforehand
Hi old man, I can't say. Maybe because of moisture, or cosmetic, I never did mine, thanks Mike
Hey Mike, do you have any videos on how to repair "Cinder ash concrete"? My garage and my house's foundation is made of "coal cinder ash concrete" and at the base of the wall/foundation of my garage it is all giving away along with most of the wall just crumbles when i touch it. Any ideas on how to repair this with out having a major project/overhaul?
Hi I have a whole playlist on foundation repair and I have a few coal foundations in there that might help, thanks Mike
@@MikeHaduck Thank you!
Planning to build wing walls for 3 steps up onto porch. Is there a better choice between plain bricks or concrete blocks with veneer?
Hi Sidney, I did a video called, "brick walls (old school vrs. New school" I think I said a lot there, thanks, Mike
@@MikeHaduck Watched it. Got it! Thanks. So nice of you to take the time to reply to all your fans!
Hello Mike, Would you say foundation repair is your most common/ requested job? I want to start a repair company in Jersey
Hi Jon, it seems to get a lot of views, I want to do a video on" should I start my own business", it had good and bad points, I never met a rich mason, but it has helped in a lot of different ways, thanks Mike
Mike what do you charge for something like this? In case I do a job here in Illinois I would know!
Hi Pete, I can't say, every situation is different, thanks Mike
You're a dancer Mike! LOL don't want to say your rate ok.
Hi Pete, actually I am mostly retired and just taking some jobs for the videos, so I really don't have a rate, thanks Mike
How much will a job like that cost?
Hi jo, I won't say over internet, but it was only a day job and the broker arranged the price and what I did before I started, thanks mike
Can drylock block in moisture and cause damage to the foundation?
Hi, I personally never seen that happen, thanks mike
@@MikeHaduck thank you so much for responding!! Appreciate the information.
I made a big deal out of it once and the teeth marks on my ass are still visible. When in doubt, sponge it out! 🤣
Thanks Brian, lol, Mike
Mike ever use the xypex products?
Hi bhadz, sorry I am not aware of them , thanks mike
Can you get drylock tinted so you dont have to paint?
Hi sik, I don't know, I always used white with drylock, the paint store guys would know, thanks mike
Surprised that you just didn't parge the walls.
Hi Andrew, it was far away from that kind of repair, best time give it what it needed and not no more, thanks Mike
Show us a job that is a "Big Deal" to you.
Hi zero, dealing with all the gov, laws, rules, regs, and red tape, other than that I try and keep it simple, lol, Mike
Took four hours because your brush is too small. :-)
Thanks Patrick, Mike
