    The bridge lasted many decades. It was slammed by a huge overseas container ship. Do people think the ship would bounce off a support beam?

    Why not find a bridge that has supports in the water as an example? The Vincent Thomas Bridge supports are on land. This has not relation to the Baltimore bridge.

    That container ship had already hit a concrete dock in Belgium. An accident waiting to happen.

    Our bridges are safe and not necessarily bullet proof, especially colliding with a huge cargo ship.

    I knew they’d waste a segment of time on this. Because that’s how stupid people are in this country. A thing happens, so now everyone is like WHAT ABOUT SOME OTHER BRIDGE??? Like every city with skyscrapers being concerned a 9/11 will happen to them. The bridge and the skyscraper panic just goes to show how people absolutely have no idea what caused any of these events to happen. Like it was just some random event and “nobody” knows how it happened.

    The boat turned right. Turning power off does not steer it into the column. Is merely the device to blame, an alibi. Whatever really happened made the ship turn to its right near the bridge.

    • @matthewlupton1539
      @matthewlupton1539 Місяць тому

      Do you know how long it takes that big of a boat to turn even the slightest bit? Without power or steering capabilities then they had no possible way of controlling the boat... They also made an emergency phone call minuets before impact. Everybody just has to wait for the investigation instead of making conspiracy theories

      @@shawnrhaweh4582 It Started to emit smoke when lights came on briefly. It was using its engine then changing direction. I think it was stirred and accelerated towards the column on purpose. Sort of, turned the lights on to ensure the tanker would crash and turned lights off again. But that is my opinion. Doubt there is such currents in bays. That can divert that much mass.
      It must have used its propulsion I think to change course so drastically. I think.

      @@louie24seven If you lived in the LA area, you would know it. Watch "To LIve And Die In LA", it's in the opening scene.
      Both bridges are not so well known because they are not as photogenic as the Coronado or the Golden Gate bridges. I suppose. But for SoCal commerce, they are and have been crucial. In fact, while not mentioned in the report, the Gerald Desmond Bridge, the one closer to Long Beach, actually the one shown in the news report, was just rebuilt at a billion dollar cost, mainly to accommodate Panamax ships like the one in "Baltimore.
      I'm not a bridge savant, so I don't claim to know all the bridges spanning the SF and East bays. So if one of the numerous bridges spanning the bay is mentioned, I'll make a mental note of it, figure I learned something new.
