Brian I can remember back in the day I'm sure you can a plane like this came in a big hand full of wood with a set of plans everything was glow powered those were the days of yesteryear you and Megan make a great team great video
Yeah, I built a few, and my Grandpa built a bunch too, then I helped him make them radio controlled ;) It was a blast. This is a PNP, but you can get it as an ARF, still definitely NOT a "kit".
Finally, a balsa plane! Just getting back into the hobby I was shocked to see so many foam models in the hobby these days. 🙄 I sure miss the days when real balsa kits were readily available to build!
Not everyone have place or conditions to have balsa. That why I prefer foamies, and they are way less susceptible to impact, and they're easier to repair.
@@georise922 I think this plane fit's a nice medium, it's already built, just some minor assembly, you can disconnect the wings for easy transport, it's not that dissimilar to larger foamies except less susceptible to hanger rash.
i finally joined an rc flying club. it is the converse flying eagles in converse indiana. makes the hobby much more enjoyable. i ordered the pheonix hobby pilatus pc-9, and the cessna 182 skylane. cant wait to build them this winter
Thanks, and yeah, the plane looks and sounds amazing! Wish I could have filmed this maiden flight at 70 degrees, instead of 10 (or whatever it was) - what a plane!
NAIL POLISH CHECK.......Ruby red? Snow white? Sparkly Magenta? Ruby red it is......I think. BTW, My first ever build growing up was a GREAT PLANES BIG Stick. This is spot on how it looked. Beautiful!
1:51:00 The original angle wasn't clearly visible, and probably doesn't much matter with ball links, but more important than the position of the pushrod in it's neutral position is how straight the pushrod is during deflection. I would think that's why it was originally connected on the inside of the control horn. Also the servo arm when centered should be parallel with the trailing edge of the wing. Sometimes this is only possible by using sub trim. But definitely use sub trim and not your main trim on your front/flying page. The good thing is how good of a teacher you are. You let people know that it's okay to modify things if they think their plane would be better. :) 2:11:00 I would suggest once you fly it and dial it in. Use the capture gains feature. Then you never need to worry about the knob position again.
It's called Instaset (AKA Kicker) - we link to it here - www.brianphillipsrc.com/supplies The Instaset is actually used for accelerating the setup of CA glue, but I realized it worked to break down the Mucliage based "China Glue", and been using it for that ever since!
Just bought one for my upcoming birthday from your link, thanks Brian, looks like a fun plane to add to my collection. Do you reccomend using a Spektrum reciever instead?
Happy Birthday! Thanks for your support! We've had great luck with Spektrum receivers, so that's always our recommendation, be we know there are lots of opinions out there. Ours is usually Spektrum. :)

This video made me buy this plane today. I also liked my own comment.
Glad you did! It's an EXCELLENT plane!
You can cut back the tip if it clogs while using kicker.
my whole pickup would be gone if I did that - LOL ;)
what product for cleaning the glue you used? And what was it for antislip battery?

@@BrianPhillipsRCthank you very much, Brian. And with strawberry scent. Haha.
Looks like the original “Das Ugly Stick”.
Link to download manual is still bad. I love this plane!
Thanks for the heads up. We will RE-Share this with our contacts at BuddyRC.
The Frajeelee apparently is a common model for most companies...
