Thank you for another awesome video! I feel like a theme that runs through all your beauty biographies is that these are beautiful women who are real women; they all have this battle between being incredibly beautiful but also wanting to hone their craft, to take on interesting and challenging roles and be highly regarded for their talent. Why can't they be both? Yet another example of the many things that women have to deal with simply because they are a woman!
Thank you for watching Alisa!!! Such a fantastic point! I feel like each week I really take away new lessons and strength from learning about these women and it's just extremely empowering! Their stories are all very reflective of our culture and gender roles (then and even now)!!! ❤️
I was born in 1956, had 3 sisters, we all loved the "old" movies of Hollywood. Marilyn was adorable, she struggled, and went way too soon. You did a wonderful job humanizing her "personna" and giving the details people need to see her as a human being and not just a ditzy Hollywood blonde. I enjoyed every minute of this! Excellent video, you are stunning on your own :)
I saw this video in my suggestions and I’m so glad I clicked on it ! I love the way you told her story with so much passion and consideration. Thank you !
Hi, Ashley -- just wanted you to know I feel the same way about Marilyn as you and your Dad do -- I think she was a very talented actress but VERY underappreciated -- I was a child when she died but when I heard the news, I cried and cried. I love the emotion you bring to your videos and the makeup part is such a unique addition and I love your whole presentation. I love how get angry at predators and how you get teary when something you just covered touches your heart ❤️ -- I'm a BIG fan of yours, Ashley! Keep up the great work!🎉
best series on UA-cam "point blank period" ‼️‼️‼️ the jazz music is so relaxing it feels like I am in Nordstrom shopping with a friend who is telling me this story 😙
I am so loving your content! I swear I never get tired of hearing about Hollywood Icons especially Marilyn Monroe. I swear I have watched all Movies and documentaries about Marilyn Monroe and I'm always hearing something new.
You did it again, Ashley. I read and listened to many, many items , stories and interviews about our beloved *Marilyn*, that I was somewhat hesitant to listen to yet another .... BUT, .... I’m glad that I did as found myself drawn into your very interesting rendition of her life and times. I guess I forget just how interesting one’s perspective and slant on such subject matter can be just as intriguing as any of the others that came before. I’m sure there’s more work putting this all together than meets the eye. GREAT JOB ❣️
Thank you so much for such kind words! I appreciate them so much! There is a lot of work but it's so rewarding to read that sharing my perspective and research brings some entertainment and joy to others including you! ❤
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoy it 🥰 really was quite a sad story but I’m happy to report that this Friday we have a pretty happy story of a beauty that lived a very long time!!! 🥰
Righteo! Bobby was very involved. J. Edgar Hoover, head of FBI had a file on her and was also blackmailing the Kennedy brothers. JFK and RFK dumped her like a hot potato. The new documentary has tape recordings that clarify the last part of Marilyn's life.
Thank you for your awesome video’s. I love how personable you make each story. I have only began watching you. ; scrolled past your show and backed up. Again, great job .
I became a fan of Marilyn when I found out her and I share the same birthday... love her and so can relate to her on a lot of accepts. I was a sophomore in high school when I discovered her, and was kind of a loner and just read about her by purchasing biographies and learning. Love her for being there for me when no one was. Love this video!💗
I loved Marilyn since I was little. I remember Clark Gable dying and then it seemed not long after she was dead too. It was so sad because she was so full of life and so wonderful. I am a Gemini too and suffered from endometriosis and extremely painful cramps (I read that this is why she started taking drugs because believe me the cramps are awful! I have fainted and crawled into the bathtub the pain was so bad) I also was never able to carry a baby to term. As a woman I identified with her a lot. I think many of us do. I feel she longed for love and acceptance and that is one of the qualities that draws us to her. I have watched several of your videos, but this is my favorite so far. You did a great job and if she were here, she would be grateful for the respect you showed her. Thank you!
Fabulous video! I’m sure you did your Dad proud! My middle name is Norma and hated it until I learned about MM. I wasn’t named after her but it made it easier for me to say it and reference Norma Jean!
Wow! This video was amazing! Marilyn is someone who always had me at “awe” for her classical beauty and the way she carried herself. I didn’t know her life was this challenging and she experienced anxiety. Thank you for this wonderful video! ❤
My dear you were absolutely made to do this biography and I think the makeup is perfect for you, you look fabulous! I like how you even got the signature layering of the red lipstick. Hollywood and the media killed this poor woman.
Hi Ashley, I'm new to your channel...CateTheGreat has mentioned you several times on her channel (and I adore her) so I had to come and check out your channel. WOW! You are Everything and more that Cate described! I cant wait to watch your other videos!!!
I had no idea of the early turmoil she endured.......and that continued on throughout her life. And gorgeous makeup again....the combination of the color of the eyeshadow and that pop pop POPPIN lipstick.....👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for another riveting biography, so well researched. I definitely want to watch more of her films now. I did see Seven Year Itch and thought she was phenomenal. God to hear more about Joe DiMaggio and his lasting devotion to her.
Fun personal fact; my mom lived quite a few of her growing up years in Brentwood in a house right near Marilyn’s. My mom says she doesn’t remember meeting her but I should ask my uncles who were older.
Oh Ashley, I neglected to mention what a really terrific job you did applying your *Marilyn* style makeup. It looks to me like you hit the nail on the head .... as in a glamorous head turner who could almost be *Marilyn’s* clone.😊🌹💃! In other words, you look quite beautiful !!!❣️
Excellent documentary of the beloved Miss Marilyn Monroe! It so sad to me that these woman aspire to their dreams, they get that one lucky break that catapults them and it would appear their dreams are coming true. This fame often becomes a blessing and curse. They no longer a person, they are seen a an object and become taken advantage of people that come into their life. But not Joe he could see her true beauty and value which she lacked . We all need to feel worthy or else it all feels like a lie and we suffer mentally for it. If only we could back and rewrite the script but in the end it’s up to the individual and circumstance. I guess we have to trust it’s all in Gods hands.
Thank you so much Maureen! 🥰 it really does seem to be a sad theme that so many of these women suffered so much simply because they dared to aspire to a career in film!
love this comprehensive study on one of the greatest of all time. I've also always felt deeply drawn to Marilyn. She was born June 1 and passed away on August 5.....the dates are significant to me because my father passed on June 2 and my mother was born on August 9..... M.M. will forever be adored and celebrated. An enigmatic pop culture icon, a Hollywood legend, and a genuine star, whose beaming glow has immortalized her soul, and can never be dimmed. She is an endless source of inspiration, both artistically and personally, and has been an idol, hero, and role model to me since before I can even recall. Beauty, intelligence, artistry, glamour, curiosity, wit, charisma, humor, talent, determination, dedication, resilience, passion, compassion, tender vulnerability, adaptability, empathy, strength, sensitivity, Marilyn had it all........no one will ever come close to rivaling her radiance.
You respected her, honored the whole person, loved (love) Marilyn Monroe for who she was, were inspired by her. This is what she strived for her entire life. Thank you, you are a wonderful “story” teller, I feel like I knew her, understood her to a degree and I will watch more of your videos. What about the rumors of her death at the hands of the Kennedy family and/or other mysterious political or underworld sources? God bless you
I remember hearing on the radio that MM died and telling my mom when she cane home from the store. It was the summer between third and fourth grade for me. I recently saw a documentary on Netflix? that really shows how involved JFK and Bobby Kennedy were toward the end of her life. It's very eye opening. Peter Lawford was involved as the husband of Pat Kennedy. I think Arthur Miller was a rat. He's the worst sort of guy to have around when someone is very insecure and susceptible to negative reinforcement.
I just found your channel! I wonder if Marilyn had had a baby with Jim Dougherty she would have overall had a happier life? It seems that later in her life her heartbreak in not being able to have a baby was a huge empty spot . We wouldn’t have possibly known her but did all the people who knew her bring her life happiness? Loved her and enjoy your channel!
You told her story so well. Very sad. The thought occurred to me, if Norma Rae had had a baby at 18, we would never have had Marilyn Monroe, but she might have lived to a normal old age instead of dying at 36. Who knows....
Having read up on Marylin a bit, tbh there were inconsistencies in the timeline and witness accounts surrounding her final hours. I don't know about conspiracy & I agree sometimes people want to build more sensation around a celebrity death than whatever the reality was - it's extending the narrative, keeping them alive existentially maybe (?). However i do think there are unanswered details and some things were probably done to preserve the Kennedy 'brands' good name . It may be innocuous stuff or something more dark. It's probable we won't find out tho. She certainly made a habit of half OD' ing and calling for help and that part is all likely to be accurate. Hope she's having fun & feels loved now wherever her soul is.
Thank you for watching!! I've always figured that a lot of the inconsistencies were likely a mix of people close to her trying to protect her and maybe others plus the fact that it was so heavily reported likely lead to some published accounts that were maybe reported/investigated a bit more sloppily than would be ideal. If there had been internet and the online community back then then I'm sure we would have gotten a more complete picture of things but you're right - we're quite unlikely to find out now. Rest her soul ❤️
While you're doing your second eyebrow and talking about "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", you have the look of Elizabeth Montgomery. The final Marilyn Monroe look is stunning on you!!! 💄👍😄
Iconic......yet another tragic sad childhood , and what it led up to 🥺. Is it me or does it seem young women still have such a tragic time in Hollywood today?
Beautiful women always have it difficult because people don't treat them like human beings. And many hate them for being beautiful. In her early years Marilyn did whatever she had to to be successful. But she came into her own and made her own decisions for herself later on. She never depended on a man. And our programming from childhood, feeling abandoned or neglected or rejected stays with us forever.
Recently, people have re-assessed Marilyn Monroe's mental health profile as being classic Borderline Personality Disorder, or Emotional Dysregulation Disorder. It fits so well with her life's trajectory, that she could be the poster child for this debilitating disorder. Not only was Bipolar Personality Disorder misunderstood and mistreated when Marilyn was alive, but a large percentage of people given that label, actually had/have Borderline Personality Disorder. Even today BPD is still frequently misdiagnosed and mistreated. PwBPD still often have tragic lives of being misunderstood and blamed for their condition. 😢
Marilyn ❤️ i discovered her when i was around 10/11 like 29 yrs ago, my mum was watching one of her movies. So then i had to absorb all i could to do with her lol i even had a signed check of hers from 1960 but had to sell unfortunately. I believe she passed from accidental OD, like Amy Greene said, she took pills, forgot and took more. I've done that with sleeping pills some years back but survived. All the conspiracies make me 🤬🥴 lol, i guess the truth just isn't too exciting and doesn't sell. Anyway, loving these biography vids, if i may could i please suggest Sharon Tate? Another beauty taken way too soon. Love from Australia
Please do Elizabeth Taylor, Gene Tierney, Clara Bow, Betty Grable, Dorothy Dandrige, Lucille Ball, Sofia Loren and Monica Belluci. I don't believe their make up styles are the same.
Loved the video! I think you did Marilyns story justice. A couple facts that were missed was that joe and Arthur were not very good husbands they both were very abusive to Marilyn and she divorced them due to domestic abuse. Joe later feels terrible and tries to make amends. Another fact that was missed was not only was it confirmed Marilyn was having an affair with JFK but also bobby Kennedy.
boost morale, that isn;t all those photos were used for... but all girls who wanted to be stars did this in the wartime...I respect Marilyn, she died too young
She was traumatized twice as a little girl. This is probably why she blamed herself for bad things. The predators probably put the blame on her. As predators do
I haven't seen a movie since 2010. I deliberately wach dvd Hollywood classics the 1940s and 50s. I don't know about movies these days. Recently, I saw a Hollywood-themed story film like Blonde, mank, and these days, the movies are very dark. Darker than necessary. And because it's a very complicated and fast screen, you can't observe it well, making it uncomfortable and depressing and complicated for the audience. Hollywood got weird. Even though I am Korean, it is not very interesting for Asians to receive awards in Hollywood.
Because Asians watch Hollywood because they want to see American movies. I'm tired of seeing Asian actors again in Hollywood because I usually see them a lot and get awards in their Asian countries.
I wached Blond, It's so dark movie, so sad, Monroe's unstable personality, I think Hollywood makes it so more than herself. Drugs, severe stress and above all access to the Kennedy brothers hastened her death. I was so so pitiful.
So sad that she was so unhappy… it’s no good being this adored film star but miserable in private… people saw only the screen, not the persona behind it. That says so much about MM‘s acting skills. Marvellous. But I wish she had been happy privately…. Heartbreaking.
Possibly if she had a baby with her first husband she would have been happier than being a movie star. She wouldn't have been hooked on drugs, she wouldn't have met the wrong people. Then again, if she had a baby she might not have been a good mother with her emotional problems. I looked up Charles Stanley Gifford, because Gladys had an affair with him and became pregnant with Marilyn and found that DNA from Charles's granddaughter and Marilyn's body had the same DNA and he was her father. It's so sad that he didn't meet her and have a relationship with her but his son wouldn't let that happen because he was worried about his dad's reputation.
Сколько же времени у нее уходило на макияж. Может быть пять часов или шесть. Вот по этому она и была одинока. Потому что у нее неоставалось виемени на мужчин.😅

Joe Dimaggio and Marilyn are one of my favorite old Hollywood love stories. His face at her funeral is heartbreaking.
Right?! It really is! You can see the pain in his face 🥺

She was gorgeous. ❤️ Katherine Hepburn would be great 😊
Marilyn ❤️ i discovered her when i was around 10/11 like 29 yrs ago, my mum was watching one of her movies.
Marilyn also started her own production company to do roles she wanted to do. Very important in her story, she was a boss lady.
Please do Elizabeth Taylor, Gene Tierney, Clara Bow, Betty Grable, Dorothy Dandrige, Lucille Ball, Sofia Loren and Monica Belluci. I don't believe their make up styles are the same.
Thank you! Love these suggestions! 🥰 Elizabeth, Dorothy, and Sofia have been done and are up on my channel now ☺️
Loved the video!
DiMaggio thought He was a Bigger more important Star! He Found out He Wasn’t! The Beauty Is!
I'll see you soon
boost morale, that isn;t all those photos were used for... but all girls who wanted to be stars did this in the wartime...I respect Marilyn, she died too young
My favorites are Marilyn Monroe Natalie Wood Dorothy Dandridge
Хочется такой макияж.😅
She was traumatized twice as a little girl. This is probably why she blamed herself for bad things. The predators probably put the blame on her. As predators do
I love Dean Martin. He had his own demons though.
and you are too beautiful
👍
