Andre 3000's Journey from Reject to Dream Horse

- Опубліковано 17 вер 2024
- This is the story of Andre 3000. He is a BLM wild mustang from the Pine Nut HMA in NV. His age is somewhere between 8 and 12yrs old.
While taking pictures at Palomino Valley, NV BLM facility of the horses selected for the Las Vegas TIP Challenge I spotted this unique looking horse in one of the back corrals. I couldn't get close to him since I was outside the fence and he was in a inner pen. I was able to use my zoom my camera lens to snap some pictures and noticed the huge 3000 branded on his butt. I went up to the office to ask about him and the BLM said he was slated to ship to long-term holding (large pastures the government rents to store the unadoptable mustangs). I asked if they would pull him and allow us to train him through the Mustang Heritage Foundation's TIP (Trainer Incentive Program) program. They agreed as long as we picked in up in the next several days. Palomino Valley facility is a 32hr drive round trip to our ranch in Northern Arizona. We agreed without hesitation!
We anticipated Andre 3000 (named for the 3000 branded on his rear) would take awhile to gentle. He did and Isidro was very slow and patient with him. We A LOT of interest in people adopting him but one woman really stood out. She was willing to give him the time and training he needed and she was all the way in Texas! We thought this was the best home for him and she adopted him. She had Isidro train him for another 4mths to start him under saddle.
This video shows a brief summary of his journey and some of Isidro's training techniques for gentling mustangs. We hope you enjoy and feel encouraged to adopt an older mustang. They just need some time and patience but are totally worth it.

What a precious life you saved! Thank you both! Andre is a stunner.
What a beauty he is. I can see why you were attracted to him. Sturdy build, four white socks, double maned. I am so pleased you helped Andre find a new home. Just shows that the horses that get overlooked can turn out the very best. Thank you so much for posting.
What a lovely pony can understand why he caught your eye. His new mistress is very lucky
Wish I could love this 3,000 times instead of just liking it once. ❤️❤️❤️
beachbumetta thank you!
All horses and animals are beautiful, how shameful that most of human kind just dont have the ♥ heart to see it that way. But people like you are no doubt doing your very best to give them a proper safe life. Good work 👍😊
Just a heart felt thanks for all you do for these beautiful wild horses !!!
An absolute beauty. He looked like a worthwhile chance. Even wild he never appeared mean. At least not by what you showed us. I'm glad he has his partner.
I keep rewatching this because Andre is such a handsome boy!
Thank you so much for making this video!! My daughter never gave up hope, she has always ridden and wanted her own horse and you made all this happen! God Bless you and what all of you do for these wild mustangs. You are special people, especially Isidro, the trainer. I cried watching this journey for Bugsy, named after her father-in-laws horse. Thank you again!!
what a beauitiful pony
Nice. Enjoyed watching and your clear conversation.
Truly beautiful horse. This kind of shows that any feral mustang can be trained regardless of their age as they are naturally gentle animals who have a proclivity to follow.
He stunning. Nice to see there are still people in the world who can and will take a chance on the "under dogs ".
Love this story. Amber, you definitely have a talent for bringing the story to life with such incredible, raw emotion. So good you noticed this sweet boy and helped him find his forever home. She's a lucky lady and he's a lucky pony!
Beautiful horse with an amazing name
Yes, a pretty little horse with handsome strong legs. I'm impressed.
Such a stout guy! I love Andre's mane & forelock.
He is so cute! I love his little trot!
Really lovely narration, cinematography, story-telling, scoring... the pace is lovely... You are really doing something special here on so many levels.
My dream horse, a mustang mare from Wyoming, came to me suddenly in February of 2011 with a 6 month old filly by her side. I was so fortunate they stayed together. She is the horse I waited my whole life for. I've had a number of beloved companions over 50 years but .... my Ooh Gee Nah Lee is the prize. We have learned so much from each other. The journey will continue for many years to come, God willing.
Such a handsome boy! What a great story! Thank you for sharing it 💟
Beautiful horse
He's beautiful... Yes a mini Clydesdales. 💓💜💜💜
tanyalh73 - Clydesdale! That was my first thought the moment I saw him. The broad blaze, the salt and pepper double mane, four high stockings, the feather on the fetlocks. Small for a Clyde, for sure, but generations of living "rough" would do that. My other guess is that perhaps there's some Welsh Section D in the mix. Wouldn't it be fascinating to know!
This mini looking Clydesdale horse is the 💣 wouldn’t mind him being my horse carriage horse 🐴
I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE TO HAVE HIM,AS HE WOULD HAVE A WIDER BACK AND. HOPEFULLY A WIDER BACK THAT COULD HELP ME TO BE MORE COMPTABLE WITH JUST A 🐑 SKIN OR SKINS-SADDLE PAD EXACTLY.
Beautiful ❤️
The length of your video rarely needs an apology when you are providing such great training information. I think you have a great thing with your voice over detailed info on each step ....AWSUM !!!
He looks a lot like my Chincoteague Pony. I love seeing how calm his owner is. Great job training him. And good eye to spot him in the herd! So glad he got a chance.
❤
he is absolutely beautiful he has such a gentle face, i wish they could remain wild
He's just cute as a bug! It was so nice to see his new mom and him "join up. " Lucky little pony. And so pretty too.
Do you ever use clicker training?
I had the wonderful opportunity to work with a yearling who was a rescue-not abused or neglected-but no real handling as he lived the wild life. I learned how to do this at Pat Miller's Multi-Species weeklong seminar several years ago. The goal was to have Flash not mind having his feet handled so that he could have hoof care. I had so much fun with this guy. All clicker training and by the end of five days, all I had to do was touch his neck and he'd pick up his foot, bottom side up, on that side. Seeing his eager response to the clicker training put the biggest smile on my face. He liked it, too, evidenced by being friendly to me and easy to catch.
The first horse I bought (much to my surprise,) was a nice 15-year old Morgan who had been shown in saddle seat. Since I don't "talk" horse nearly as well as I "talk" dog, I took a clicker training class with Alexandra Kurland. This taught me a way to communicate with a horse through a clicker and treats and I also think it lets the horse know that you are not a "force" trainer and that even if you make mistakes (of which I made many,) the horse gets it that you are not being intentionally mean. In fact, when I had a horse communicator talk to Hula after I'd had her for maybe six months, Hula told her that "I had a lot to learn!" Still, she took care of me.
Since then I've done clicker with a rescue work horse who would not let you touch his feet and within one 15-minute session we could easily pick up his foot. Another horse, Jazz, acted like he could not turn his head right or left. Just a bit of clicker and he was offering to turn his head even without my asking. He went to a wonderful new home and when I went to visit at least a year later, as soon as he heard my voice, he perked right up in my direction.
So..for someone like myself who does not talk "horse" very well I would highly recommend using clicker training, with or without other methods. Honey Loring
Honey Loring if you watch our other videos you will see we use +R training. We are open to use any methods the horse needs.
Lovely horse & nice calm & patient training. Great!
Good job you saved him and he done you proud now to make his new owner proud and happy for many yrs to come 🍎🥕🍏🤗
What a heartwarming video from start to finish! Seeing him with his new owner put a huge smile on my face. Great work!
He is beautiful.
Love you 3000 🥰❤️
Great job! What a handsome boy!
I LOVE this litttle guy!!!
So nice to see this KIND & GENTLE approach to training/breaking these beautiful Mustangs, kuddos to Isidro he could teach a lot of Men his tactics and of getting further without the trauma & brutality.
Thanks for helping Andre.
As I watched him in the trailer, the look in his eyes touched my heart. These poor beautiful horses have no idea what will happen to them in the hands of really mean men in a really mean Bureau.
He reminds me of a mini clydesdale! Or a clydesdale hackney X with that stunning high step trot and colors+feathering! Sooo handsome!!
This video over powered my emotions with love, (I caught a young Stallion in Carson City (NV) who was a domestic turned out) causing me many issues with the local authorities, Chris Miller a local State brand inspector intervened and I was able to purchase him after gelding and vaccinations. One hot shot trainer said "Why don't you just go buy "Tony the pony" instead of wasting your time on a mustang!" "Reno" needed a home and I needed Reno in my life! I'm still working with him and expect to ride him this spring.. Smaller horse packed with intelligence.. New subscriber by chance this early sunday morning in Kings River Nevada.. Thank you for all you displayed in this one short video Isidro Espinoza Horsemanship LLC
Awesome!! You both do amazing work with the mustangs. ❤️💕 very happy for this beautiful boy to be in his forever home with a perfect companion 💕💕
Thank you for giving that horse a chance.GOD BLESS YOU.
He loves her, look at his eyes.
Nice recap. What a beautiful boy!
I love the two of you. You're both awesome!!
Such a beauty!
Small but mighty! 🔥♥️
I'm crying!! He found his person!! You can see the love and trust!!
The narrator sounds like Lindsey Partridge. I just love her training methods. Isidero’s methods are so quiet and patient and Andrey sure respond.
Great video , again
Definitely Clydesdale genes .
Cant understand the thumbs down idiots .
Your giving a well documented video of what and how to do it !
Take care.
Love watching how you are able to help give these horses get a chance at good homes. Andre is a lovely horse so glad you were able to get him and help him find a forever home.
I,m. Happy u found a home for him,but disappointed 😔 not mine
Wow that was some DURABLE hip paint! Thanks for sharing & giving this cutie a chance to be loved and spoiled for the rest of his life (and not languish in long term holding)
MBZ Metalsmithing it’s not hip paint, it’s a freeze brand
Isidro Espinoza Horsemanship LLC oh, ok! So, do they get that hip brand when they are headed to long term?
MBZ Metalsmithing yes, that way they can tell who is who with binoculars since the LTH pastures are so big.
Excellent horse
I'm thrilled
God bless you for being so kind.
Love your work, have taken the opportunity to report some comments for hate speech....don’t let them stop your wonderful work!
Maree Torrumbarry we reported them as well. That person has been making comments like that for months. Doesn’t seem to make any difference reporting them.
I would like to get one like him and just take my time as I don't ride and just like being able to handle a bit. I walked my first mustang for most of the eighteen years I had him. He let kids do anything they wanted.
Thank you for making this video! I appreciate the running commentary. Very educational. Your husband has such good energy with the horse. He breaks the mold of the typical Charro and it is a welcomed departure. Thanks again, I really enjoyed it. Great way to spend my lunch! Best wishes & blessings for what y'all do for the mustangs. Chokes me up.
What a beautiful way of training!!! As my horse is a stout little Guy (1.38) my heart went straight out to hij.
Love how he looks so relaxed, his hind leg just resting. Total trust.
Such a beautiful horse😁👍so glad things turned around for him😁
You have a great eye.. he's a diamond in the rough!! Even though he was older..he was still trainable.. excellent job you guys!!
He is very alert and apprehensive. You all are very patient, understanding, and kind trainers. I think God is very pleased with what
you are doing with his beautiful creation, seeing the horse's true value and saving him from a long term nothingness.
This horse looks like he's got Clydesdale in him. He's so beautiful..
❤️ so much! So worth what your eye said to go after. 🥰
What a great outcome. Excellent horsemanship there.
Love this pony and the way Ya’ll trained him. So patient and not in a hurry but still forward moving. Awesome! Thanks for sharing this and the voice over about what and why you’re doing what you do is so helpful.
He’s so pretty!! 💛✨
Like the white fethering on the legs
God Blessed you, Teri. Now I see your smiling face of joy with your dreams fulfilled!!! I am so happy for you and Bugsy!! The video is fantastic! Love you, Mom ❤️❤️😍
I’m at 13:19, but back at 11:00, I said to myself, ‘he looks like a mini Clydesdale’. Honesty.
I don’t speak horse-person so I’ll say, his solid build, the mane, feet and feathers, are much like the Clydesdales if watched on Utube.
Nice job!
Love to see this! Also love that he got a great home, he seemed to really like her ;)
He is absolutely beautiful! He deserved a second chance
I’m crying watching this. He is amazing! Thank You for seeing how special he was when no one else could.
Great vid
what a beautiful mustang,
Great video. Great story, trainer, new owner! Lovely 3000!
Amazing training skills ❤️❤️
What a great pony, I love stout mustangs and he looks like he could trot forever.
I really enjoy these kind of training videos, making a useful horse, none of that chasing around nonsense.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love this!!!
Great job Isidro I take my hat 🧢 off I grow up watching my dad breaking horses 🐎 just for fun but this way is amazing how the horse react more relax I’m always watching you guys videos and I show my dad and he like it next time u guys come to Vegas I’m going to try to be there to say hi in person lol tresmil good name
Its amazing. The mustang is named after my favorite lyricist!
j.leigh smith I started listening to OutKast in the 90s :) - Amber.
Ha! So do I at the age of 14! Knew it had to be a Kast fan.
Such an awesome video! The suddle things you talk about that people miss, thank you..
He’s quite the beauty...
Very nice story. It looks as though the young woman has a very good rapport with that horse. Good deal all around.
I’m so glad you explained how even you guys have to start over a lot with some horses, and it doesn’t seem like you are making progress, but you really are. That’s been my experience with the one horse I’ve been training from a yearling to a now 7 yr old. I am mostly self taught combing UA-cam for training ideas and attitudes. I so admire you two! You and Izisdro have been role models for me!
Pretty ,I just seen two Mustangs in the killpen today so sad
lisa myhre how many other breeds did you see as well? It’s sad for all horses who’s people fail them.
Isidro Espinoza Horsemanship LLC it is very sad
What a fabulous pony,in the UK we would probably call him a cob.I have Exmoor ponies and we often don't back them till they are 5 and often older if they have been used for breeding.
Gentling is always the only way.
Yessss I’ve been waiting for this!!
WOW God bless you all and thanks
Wow, so incredible! You guys did such an amazing job--- It looks like his new owner is a good fit, seems to have a nice calm energy and he seems engaged with her. I'm glad she took the initiative to have Isidro continue his training, I bet it made all the difference in the world.
I’m training a mustang next year
What was the phrase? Oh yes. We love you 3000 ❤️
Beautiful face
wow, hooray!
@13:11 You and I had the same thought about how André looks like a small Clydesdale. He's beautiful & I love the color of his mane & tail. I cannot recall seeing a white/black/flax mane with a bay coat before 😃
Its sad that he was considered litterally too old. I mean about 8 years means that he still has 15-20 years of life ahead of him, maybe even more.
Ayato it’s the length of time he has been wild. The older they are (years spend in the wild) the harder they tend to be to gentle. Not always true but us true for a lot of them.
HE. LOOKS LIKE HE WOULD REALLY HAVE A FEW YEARS OF LIFE YET, AND YOU DON,T 👩⚖️ A BOOK BY ITS COVER
Ayato it just takes time and patience to be a great 👍 🐴
