Let's not forget that the nurse also helped save Vito by moving him to another room with Michael.
Only thing I would nit pick is the Don's feelings about the drug trade. He didn't like it but that wasn't his reasoning for declining. His real power came from his political connections. These connections would not back him if he moved into the drug trade. No matter how much it made him, drugs would ruin his real power by turning those connections against him.
Vitto was naive, because he didn't know about DC politicians. They could care less about their people. They only care about money and power.
Enzo showed his loyalty and gratitude with this one gesture. We never see him again but we always remember him for all the right reasons.
He did make a short appearance in the Third movie when he made a cake for Michael's ceremony.
It's good to help people, you never know who helps you later on
I think you nailed it! And Enzo would never have to beg or borrow anything from anyone after such a gesture.
Even though Enzo was indebedted to the Don for helping him marry and stay in the country, that debt had been paid by Enzo's father-in-law. Since Enzo gave this favor freely I would like to think that the family rewarded him later off-screen.
Enzo was rewarded. Michael made him the head pastry chef of his vegas hotels.
@@derrick_smitty oh! I didn't remember that (I have read the book too but it's been awhile now)
They made him the capo regime of the 5 pastry shops
@@dannyc3774 he specializes in cannolis
Just wondering!
After Tessio's men were pulled from the hospital why didn't they call their immediate boss (Tessio) and let him know what happened. I don't think that they were stupid enough to realize that Vito was being left unguarded.
However, maybe Tessio was already working on back stabbing the Corleone Family. Regardless, I would of had Tessio wacked for negligence/stupidity immediately after this almost disaster.
"Women and Children can be careless, not men"!
We all know Apollonia saved Michael’s life as well
down to 4 families? more like down to 1...Barzini would have ruled without the Corlione family in place.
Wonderful channel, send you blessings from argentina
Oranges. Every time there are oranges in a Godfather movie, violence follows.
The interesting thing about Enzo was he was a paroled Italian POW who ended up working with the baker and he ended up getting the man's otherwise ugly daughter pregnant, but he was willing to marry her but the government was going to send him back. Vito, however, got that stopped so he was able to stay.
Enzo, the baker!!!! big balls
The hit on the Don never made sense. Sonny would never go into business with the man who did a hit on his father.
That's exactly what I was thinking
Enzo! I wonder what hapened to him? Keep up with the bakery maybe?
yes, Enzo did, and after he sh^t his pants, understandably.
Another way to look at this is that the first two hitmen should have pumped more bullets into Don Corleone. Salazzo had managed to plan two assassinations that could have worked if not for tiny mistakes. The first hit was his best chance but he clearly chose bad shooters. The second attempt... He managed to get the guards removed from the hospital and make an easy path for the two hitmen (were those the same guys) to just walk right in and kill an unconscious old man, which is impressive since this was clearly a backup plan made on the fly. But then the hitmen chicken out when they see guards. The worst two hitmen in the city! Salazzo is seemingly great at planning hits, but has the worst employees!
Bro u a stan like me
its sitting DUCK, not sitting goose. sitting DUCK.
I was thinking the same thing, but maybe it's a combination of he's a "sitting duck" and his "goose is cooked!" Lol
