For sure the best song is Man In The Mirror
Either Bad or Smooth Criminal. I can't decide.
Smooth Criminal is definitive in my opinion
Man In The Mirror
My Favorite track on the album is either Man in the Mirror or Smooth Criminal, when it comes to MJ you should discuss either some of his music videos (especially the 40-minute-long GHOSTS short film) or one of his 90's albums or Invincible
Edit: you could also discuss some of MJ's live performances (especially the Dangerous performance)
0:21 *Correction*: the 1982 album is THE best selling album of all time worldwide, in the uk it might be in 6th place and in the us in 2nd, but it’s the best selling album worldwide. Let’s not downplay Thriller please and thank you.
Well said
It s a matter of context. MTV was the shit.
This!
Bad is my favorite album from Michael Jackson. It’s Definitely Edgy, Smooth, Thought Provoking, and gave Thriller a run for its money. Dirty Diana is my Personal Favorite MJ Song with Smooth Criminal begging my Close Second Favorite
Bad is my favorite album too 💯💯💯
same
Bad was a great album and after the success of Thriller, it was a really bold move by Jackson to go in a more edgy direction.
Jesus loves you
@@rweingrad no, Yeshua ben Yosef is dead
One of the? Thriller is the best selling album of all time 😂😂
And the album wasn't released in 1983 it was released in 1982
@@Videomaker-pz4xm exactly! That’s when it rose to fame
Jesus loves you
@@rweingrad stop
Technically that's true
attempting to surpass thriller in sales is like telling a 3 year old to go to bed
it doesn't work and never will
I don't think Jackson got that memo he surely tried to surpass "Thriller".
First of all, Thriller came out in 1982; and second, it IS the best selling album of all time.
As Quincy once said, Michael really understood drama. I don't think Michael wrote from a personal view, rather from a escapist/fantasy view, and most songs on Bad are very cinematic in their nature. Listening to them is like watching a film. Speed Demon, Liberian Girl and Smooth Criminal are perfect examples. Having said that, starting with Thriller, his music dealt heavily with paranoia, which could be purely drama or something very personal.
This is my favourite Michael Jackson album. Incidently it was the very first album I ever bought. I played it non stop. Smooth Criminal was my favourite track as it was the one I played most.
Following up the collosal success of Thriller is not an easy task.
The song Bad Is pretty much my favorite song mostly because of both the sounds and lyrics, my favorite part of the song of all time is the organ solo of the film version it's just sounds epic in my eyes more so than the album version, too bad the short film and it's mix isn't released in high quality as i would've loved to see a 35mm remaster of this film and just hear the original mix in it's intended glory.
Speed Demon and Leave Me Alone are the main highlights for me on this album. For me, personally, I'm not such a huge fan of the upbeat and escapist side of MJ's music (which is why I'm not so fond of the majority of his 80s songs) and I'm more into the gritty and realistic side of his music, which is why I prefer his later work (Earth Song, and They Don't Care About Us for example)
i agree, 90s michael is very underrated. Dangerous and HIStory are great albums, very agressive and real
If u love those you'd probably love "we've had enough"
I always loved MJ's 90's music more, because it's aggressive & unique
Man in the Mirror? 🤧
Bad was not his 4th album, it was his 7th actually.
For me Bad is one of the best albums of all time
I personally like it slightly more than thriller
Bad era was the perfect approach to follow up Thriller especially with his world tour. Only gripe is I do think it needed some of rod temperton to replace some tracks in the ablum.
Thriller is THE best selling album of all Time.
I thought Thriller _was_ the greatest selling album ever still. What the hell could possibly have surpassed it? Also, "Bad" was originally intended to be a duet with Prince. MJ invented the technology behind the 'Smooth Criminal lean', he once asked Lady Diana permission to sing "Dirty Diana" in a concert in England (which she granted, of course) and "Speed Demon" is the best cut.
Thriller Is the biggest selling album of all time it’s sold over 121 million copies worldwide so whoever did this video clearly didn’t do much research
Wrong. He pulled the song out of respect for Diana but then added it in when she told him its her favorite
His album is pure bliss...!
please make more MJ stuff!!!
My favorite mj album
I think you're going way too deep into it personally... like the font. I think a lot if the things they did because they just wanted too. But that's my opinion
my fav album! i wish it wasnt speed up a bit xD
The album's title was planned to be SMOOTH CRIMINAL. Quincy complained about it to Epic's management behind MJs back, so MJ was pushed to change it. It went from Smooth Criminal -to Bad.
Can you please share your thoughts on Thriller
Me about to dislike when seeing the title:
Me when the video starts: Thank God you didn’t hate on MJ I was about to end ur career……..
It’s not his 4th album lol
Five No.1 singles on the USA Billboard charts from the Bad album says it all about its quality.
Thats True Bad has more No.1 singles on the USA Billboard charts than Thriller
Will you do more Michael Jackson videos like unreleased discussion Songs one of videos i could suggest you 😊
Michael makes the "Bad" album bad, because this is clearly about his shadow side and a lack of psychological acceptance of it. Michael was so clearly torn between the light and dark side of his personality. And was in this album flirting with the dark within himself. He never reached the acceptance of his own dark side like Freddie Mercury did Who rather wanted to go to hell because of the interesting People he would meet there. So with Michael his dark side got to manifest in a way outside himself whether he was innocent or not.
Woah, you’ve really thought about this! You’ve made a good point which makes a lot of sense 👍. I agree with the sentiment that this album reflected Michael’s darker side
@@FineArtsMusic If you look at Michael's facial expressions in many of his Bad album songs, you can see that he looks angry, so in my opinion All these songs are about him. They reveal what was really also in him, and the songs were a great instrument for him to channel his darker side in an "innocent" way. We All like and accept his music although some of it was really very dark
I think Michael was clearly interested in the range of human expression and emotion; he wanted to understand people so that he could entertain them, and he also wanted to use that knowledge to express himself in the best way possible, which is hard in an ever changing society. He didn't shy away from gritty realities because he had experienced them, but he wanted to help change the world for the better, truly, and you can see that in near everything he ever touched. I don't think he was intentionally edgy just to be dark, but I don't think he hid from darkness either. You mention his anger; I think it was all coming from a very genuine, very real place, as are most of the things he ever sung about.
I do not think thriller is way better than bad but I think when it comes to music it goes 1 of the 2 ways: the Michael Jackson/the classic music and then the rest of the music.
Can you do more Michael Jackson
Actually bad is his 7th album lol
It's his 3rd album after he left the Jackson 5
thriller and bad are very weird cases. wall thriller has more sells bad has more number ones it’s very hard to tell which is better i think personally it’s equal thriller might have the edge for me only because i like every song on thriller even the girl is mine which is my least favorite on the album isn’t that bad the whole album is great bad is like that as well but bad has some songs that aren’t the best but yea mostly equal.
On my personal is my favorite because there mj tried to make his own identity with the songs
I rank the albums
1 Bad
2 History
4 Dangerous
4.5 Xscape
5 Invincible
6 Thriller
7 Off the wall
Bad dangerous
Why does everyone hate Off The Wall so much! 😭😭😭😭
I would change bad & dangerous
Off the wall is way better than Bad. Musically bad is the worst album lol
You're forgetting Xscape
Michael is the
Best
bad is his best album
Thriller Album came out in 1982
This was his Third solo epic album under epic records first album Off The Wall,Thriller and Bad
Would like you to do the Freddie Mercury duets !
1982 album not 83
The single cover for Dirty Diana was just his boots
It’s Michael Jackson, he can easily get away with solely featuring boots on the cover of one of his singles 😂
@@FineArtsMusic lol right
I always loved that cover. It looks simple, original & stylish. Cause it's MJ.
I thought it was a woman's boots
Put speed 1.25
Michael Jackson looking sexy asf when perspiring profusely ❤
Indioma bad é o melhor álbum de mj e smooth criminal é a melhor música e coreografia da história
Oooooooooh you mean
What bad are you talking about
Leave me alone.
I had to buy a CD player to get that song.
Kids won't understand.
Hilarious that anyone would find his "bad ass persona" remotely convincing 🤣 OK hun...
Yes this album had a more edgy sound, but it was way too pop. It’s his most pop influenced album. If he would’ve replaced Speed Demon and Just Good Friends with 2 songs with a more RnB/Soul feel the album would’ve been more critically acclaimed.
This album would’ve never found critical acclaim as the ones who stamp ‘critical’ acclaim are press bunnies at the end of the day. And the press had it hard for MJ after the ATV catalogue buy in late 85. But I agree with you on that Just good friends should’ve been replaced with Love Never Felt So Good or maybe another track.. it never really fit.
Look Michael wanted to be popular More and More prince was getting popular by being edgy Michael wanted to do it so his later Music get's recognised.
According to me, prince's music sounds outdated now as comparison to MJ's catalog.
@@poojatyagi8072 He ain't talking about today. A few years after the release of Thriller, MJ's popularity was slowly being reached by Bruce Springsteen with his Born in the USA album and Prince with his Purple Rain album so MJ tried to take a different approach with his next album. A lot of things can happen within a 5-year gap.
First of all thriller sold over 121 million copies worldwide more than any other album it’s the biggest selling album of all Time it spent more than 600 weeks on the charts according to Forbes and it spent 37 weeks at number one and it sold more than one million copies worldwide per week and it sold over 32 million copies worldwide in its first year secondly bad sold over 65 million copies worldwide and is one of the biggest selling albums of all time so calling a album that’s sold over 65 million copies worldwide a bad album is hilarious to me because the numbers speak for themselves proving bad is an amazing album and the bad album was the first album in history to have 5 number one hits from one album and bad was in the billboard top 5 albums for 38 weeks a record that lasted for 24 years and bad sold over 8 million copies in its first week and over 18 million copies in its first year
Thriller is not 1983 is 1982
Bad is better thaj thriller for me. The album needed the Groove of Billie jean and another rock song. Like what if Michael jackson skipped bad and called it dangerous
Cover art is black, white & red. Reminiscent of the German WW2 flag. Possibly for the same reasons.
Thriller is the best selling album in the world, not one of them.
What accent is this?
british
MJ fans going on about how edgy he was in this period is hilarious 😂 The only people who have ever bought into it were the die hard fans. To literally everyone else on earth its closer to being camp than tough 😂😂😂
What makes fine arts bad album so bad?-
just kidding
It's Bad!
Imagine saying the bad album wasn't anything but phenomenal? Horrible take lol.
That was a very good album so what are you talking about you clown they are two different albums bad and Thriller you have to judge them on their own merit rip MJ forever
Did you actually watch the video? or just reacted to the title?
The album is very good but sound dated. But still an enjoyable album like many 80s albums.
Michael Jackson's vocals are very good too. I agree, very good album. Prince's Sign o The Times was a revolutionary masterpiece, and its better than this album since Prince was experimenting, but Bad is a fire album anyway. Thats what I think
This video was a reach. Like..seriously
Geez can you talk any slower...
I like the album cover. But aside from maybe Smooth Criminal theres nothing else iconic about the album. It was all downhill from Thriller
Wow ther nerve of you to say this tf
Care to elaborate?
whatever, sign o' the times by PRINCE is way BETTER
