I literally grew up on Michael Jackson's music and his movements. I'm a former pop locker so a lot of his moves were easy for me to emulate at my high school talent shows. This is why he was, is and always will be THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER that ever lived. I miss this dude! 😎
Michael is the king!! Best entertainer ever to hit the stage. Mike was amazing there will never be another like him. No one can top MJ because he set the bar so high that it's unreachable!!!! I miss him❤❤❤😍😍😍
It doesn't matter whether he dances or sings, I adore him even if he stands still. The most iconic stylish performer of the century. Love the great guy always. ❤
Michael was and he will be the best artist in the world. I like all his signature dance move, but especially the Side-Kick. I noticed that a lot of people are trying to imitate Michael's dancing, but there is really nobody who can do the "Kick" exactly like him. Michael is the Lord of Dance!
There was no one like him and still many can copy him but never will him. We suffered a great loss by his no longer being here. Genuis, heart and soul was what he was!!!!
And respect. I watched that Motown celebration and when it was MJs turn to perform he started to take over the whole event. When he realized it, he deliberately toned down his act.
One of the best videos that I have seen detailing MJ's iconic moves. There's a reason that he is the only music star to he inducted into the Dance Hall of Fame.
For those who say that MJ stole or copied dance steps from other artists, first tell them that this is called influence, it is a natural thing to do with the artists of the 2000s who were influenced by Michael. Another thing he wanted to clarify. Michael in many interviews said that he didn't invent the moonwalk, he just perfected it and took it to another level. Michael is responsible that today we know the "Moonwalk" if it weren't for him we wouldn't be talking about that dance step. What no one can deny is that MJ created a unique and unrepeatable dance style.
I'm so happy that you said that! We are all learning from each other. Especially in music and dance. There is a path of development. In fact Michael influenced a lot of artists who later created music or dance according to his leg moves. He changed the whole music industry forever. In 1983 he was the first black artist who was added to MTV. First his song Billie Jean was declined. Michael broke the MTV color barrier. The way he pronounced his words with his own flavor and his own style and swag set influences for years to come and change music forever. They still do it in pop music today. What you said is exactly right. MJ created a unique and unrepeatable dance style! That is to the point. I often watch artist who imitate Michael, but there is always something they can't do it as Michael did it, an in that way "unrepeatable" is 100% true!
He truly earned the name "King of Pop". (...and I've never even been a Michael Jackson fan. Never been a big fan of his music, but he had truly amazing skill and talent. He was an objectively good songwriter, singer, dancer and performer. If it wasn't Michael Jackson, I'm not sure who else it could ever be. I don't think anyone's ever even come close to earning that title).
He isn’t the king of pop. He’s the king of crew dance and solo dance The king of beatboxing The king of multiple genres The king of laying tracks The king of lyrical artistry The king of kindness He truly was a gift to the world regardless of what people think. I grew up with him dominating the music industry by a landslide and his videos weren’t just music videos, I remember when thriller came out, I ran to the tv, the whole room was buzzing just before but when it came on all the adults stopped everything they were doing just to watch it.
I was fortunate to see the Jackson 5 at Madison Square Garden in 1971 (or '72). Michael stole the show back then and he continued to be an exceptional performer until his passing. RIP Michael. Thanks for the memories.
Never existed another never compared to anyone Michael Jackson you rest the only king history your music dance humanity never die you lives forever and ever thanks 👑💫🎶🌎🌻🦚❤️
Great summary of Michael Jackson's dancing talent. He is really the complete the singer-dancer entertainer. Michael ended up in a profession he loved and was born to be in. His passion for music and his translation of that music into body movement is Michael's signature.
Michael’s tap dance was also one of his amazing signature dance moves. MJ was both an innovator and an astute student. He studied the old time greats and popularised their dance moves by perfecting them and making them his own while adding his own magic touch. A Genius of his craft. MJ Forever
I think it’s fair to say that he was the single-greatest male dancer in recorded history. He was also one of, though arguably not the, greatest male vocalists in recorded history as well. I can’t even two-step without falling over my own feet; that he was able to dance like that blows my mind.
The world's best musician and dancer Michael Jackson. His style of dancing and singing music never seems childish. He always sang music in deep voice, so his songs are hit and catchy. Moreover he always wrote teachable music. He was the only person in the world who performed dance-music together in front of live audience. May her soul rest in peace'🇧🇩🎵🎧🇧🇩
Michael was NOT a musician as was Prince, his rival. Michael Jackson played guitar, synthesizer, drums, percussion, and keyboard; however, he was not proficient in any one. Prince, on the other hand, played: electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, bass synth, singing bass, Fuzz bass, electric piano, acoustic piano, mini-Moog, poly-Moog, Arp string ensemble, Arp Pro Soloist, Oberheim four-voice, clavinet, drums, syndrums, water drums, slapsticks, bongos, congas, finger cymbals, wind chimes, orchestral bells, woodblocks, brush trap, tree bell. Later in his career, Prince added playing the flute, harmonica, and organ to his repertoire. On his debut album 'For You', released when he was 20, Prince supposedly played every single instrument: 27 in all.
We had a pleasure of seeing him in concert once we left there in all it was an unbelievable performance. It was no fake singing. He sung and danced and moved on stage like there wasn’t a stage. Everything was just smooth effortless it seemed something will never forget. He was a stellar entertainer. Extremely blessed.❤️
I dont care what anyone says...there has NEVER been another MJ not even close. All encompassing, as far as his contribution to the world and arts; his abilities and impact on music lovers and fans over the decades? Not even close! He was THAT star since his child and beyond his untimely passing. You can see and feel his passion for every aspect, in everything he did. They weren't just performances he gave his life to music and being 'MJ' the world renowned artist and still trying to maintain a sense of self. The impact is undeniable.
Michael Jackson wasn't just king of pop but king of dance. Dancing is hard without being graceful. He moves so gracefully that he does it effortless. RIP, brother.
I can't say anything on mj performance and dancing she is perfect but I can say is Michael is one of the greatest dancers in 90s 2000s and also even if he is dead I can't forget the greatest Michael Jackson
Most of MJs moves are variations of breakdance moves, and were performed by street dancers wayyy before he showcased them. The Toe Stand was done by James Cagney years before, also. MJ was known for enjoying classic movies, and you can see a lot of those dancing styles in his moves, especially Fred Astaire moves. The Anti -Gravity Lean was used in the 1953 musical, "The Band Wagon". This is not to say MJ was not a talented dancer, but the personal touches he put on the older dance moves definitely made them his own and was a master at it.
It's true that Michael did not invent these moves, but I would say he made them his own. His precision and artistry and dedication to every. single. step. are what set him apart.
