Just got the V3 version of this with the lumed pip at 12. Very pleased with it for the money
Excellent Seiko movement , Drilled Lugs , Sapphire , Bracelet does not flare out from the case , Lume is on par or better than Doxa. I wanted a 300T but im afraid it's not versatile enough to wear on all occassions. So i think this is a good alternative.
My thoughts Exactly
DOXA 1200T owner here, and watchmaker.
I have to say this watch is very impressive for what it offers for $200. The fit and finish is pretty darn great considering how much you’re paying for the watch and all the specs are very decent. Water resistance he sapphire crystal great execution of the parts and materials very very good. This watch is very close to the original however I have noticed a few differences. As mentioned in the video the font seems a little bit thin. The dial finish is not glossy orange. Looks more mat finished. I would’ve preferred the glossy orange the same glossiness that is seen on the hands.
I still think that this watch offers a lot and I would’ve loved to be able to buy one 10 years ago when I bought my DOXA.
Here comes the contention I do think this is a pretty close rip off of the original however it is a great substitute for those who may not want to wear their expensive watch on vacation and risk losing it or damaging it. It’s a wonderful watch to have if you were filming a movie that needs to have a stunt double with the same kind of watch. In the movie Sahara they actually had to make a fake DOXA for the stunt double and it didn’t look anything like a original. However having this watch would’ve probably been more convincing.
Now there is definitely the point to be brought up that this is a rip off of an original design however I can’t be a complete purist because this offers a lot for the watch community and for those who may want the style of watch but did not have $1800 to spend.
A very good video and in-depth review. Thank you so much for the video I will be picking one up. Probably in the red out of curiosity
Totally fair comments and observations and its more meaningful coming from a doxa owner
I like the idea of a red or black MOP dial. Something the DOXA doesn't do.
I think it’s interesting I wouldn’t normally buy homage watches but I have bought this . I own both the sub 200 and 300t and love the design However if we take a subjective view and look beyond the fantastic design there are glaring deficiencies. Very poor loom for a dive watch . Unregulated eta movement mine runs 15 secs fast per day , clasp that is sufficient but not great and almost 200grams on wrist .so of its the design people are after they may find that the quality here isn’t too far behind the original at a fraction of the price
@@MES1808NYC you know what I find distasteful? Someone who isn’t within the profession giving an opinion...seriously man.. Stf up 👌
@@MES1808NYC that’s it? That’s your comment back? Dude STFU 😑
Great looking watch. Seems like a quality homage of a classic diver. Great review, as always.... Keep em coming !!!
Solid review, Seestern really coming out with a bang. Cannot wait for that triple comparison, that'll be one for the ages!
Great review! This one is at the top of my must have list. Thanks for covering it.
Seiko goes a long way still reliable and with the improvement done is very stunning, make a classy statement
Great work! Now I need this watch even more.
Next watch on my list! Great review!
....... thank you for your review , convinced me to buy one .... and after wearing mine for a week it is plus 7 seconds .... a second a day ..... wow .......... I love it to bits ..... what I hadn't realised when I ordered mine is that the dial is actually a metallic anodised type finish and looks stunning ..... I feel honoured to own one .......
What a brilliant reveiw! Covered everything! Im sold on this mate, thank you very much👍👍
Appreciate it bro!
Such a nice and detailed review.
And very enjoyable to watch also.
Keep up the good work, great reviews.
Great review. Keep doing what you’re doing.
Another great video! Keep up the good work.
Awesome review! Looking forward to the side by side comparison with Doxa 👍
Thank you so much for the review video
Great review my friend! Love it. Have just put it in my basket but not totally sold on the Doxa design, but maybe it will grow on me, might wait for the 11/11 sale. I really am interested in a bronze Cronos diver buy might change my mind in November !!
Same here , arrived in the country today 👍
Seestern seem to be doing very well for a new brand. Great review and I'm looking forward to seeing your reviews of their other watches.
I'm definitely getting one. Always love the Doxa but there's no way I could ever afford one. Although I think I might wait for the V2 with hopefully a lume pip. Heck this might be the first watch that I will get multiple versions..just love the color choices...and they're so affordable too.
Very fine review . Thanks!
very clear vid mine landed yesterday . its a dull day today but my orange seems a fraction more pastel than yours. hope it pops in the sunlight
Top review as ever. Very nice they are. Liking mine alot. Very true to a Doxa.
I pulled the trigger on this one, thanks to your review! Seestern hit it out of the park on this Doxa homage. They actually improved the fit and articulation of the bracelet at the watch over the original. I do wish they stuck with the high polished outer bezel and the side of the bezel under the grip ring. Unbeatable value for money here. It's obvious that Tactical Frog has no clue!
I also ordered an orange rubber strap with curved ends to alternate straps occasionally. Go BRIGHT or go home, LOL!
I agree with you here I wish they had polished the outer bezel and side bezel, I think it just makes the watch pop ...
Do you think you can get this done after market?
Wow. These are very nice watches. Thanks for showing.
I always appreciate the fine point you put on your reviews a lume pip would have sealed the deal for me but not a deal breaker by any means you have always saved me from making bad decisions the only reason to wait on the tactical frog is to maybe acquire a different dial color Thanks my friend 👍
Thanks Mike and as always i appreciate ur input and comments!
Nice review as usual.
Oh, I can't wait for my new V3 in turquoise to get here in another day or two! :)
All the best watch beautiful
Very impressive outing from this young brand, excited to see what they come up with next. I'm hoping its the 200 as I prefer that over the 300 and if they've done this good of a job, I will be keeping a close eye on them. Very nicely done review.
Yeh it would be nice to see them carry this on and go down other homage routes, i like the sub200 idea
Liking the b roll mate, looks slick. Nice analysis too. Best overall doxa homage. Slim pickings of course, but the frog bites the dust after now seeing the seestern! All the best, Dan.
Nice one Dan, appreciate the comments and the b roll appreciate 😜 yh it is slim picking but this one does steal it
Looking forward to this, got mine yesterday 😃
What color did you get and do you think it's really good quality watch my wrist is 7 and 1/4. I thought maybe the inner dial looks too small. Is it or no. Ray
@@wed265 Hi Ray yes the dial is small but I think that all depends on dial colour. I went for the orange dial which I think gives the dial more presence
I was going to get the mother of pearl but thought that would make the dial look smaller
My own wrist is the same size as yours, and the combination of the bright dial and case size gives the watch great presence on my wrist without looking too large or small
Legibility is in my opinion excellent and after two weeks of wearing is running +8 seconds a day
The only issue I have had is one of the spring bars popping when I was putting on a jacket!Sorted it with slightly thicker spring bars and making sure they were seated properly Hope this helps
Just pulled the trigger on the orange one. I'll give you a heads up here when it arrives. 11 Oct. It just arrived, 2 weeks wait with no extra delivery charges. It's everything you said it was. The case finish is excellent without the sharp edges on the undersides that so many other microbrands tend to have. There's no problems with the hands lining up all around the dial, something else that others need to get sorted. All in all, well worth it! Oh yes, the crown does operate very smoothly. If anyone wants to know, the orange is a shade darker than a Seiko SKX011, more like the orange that Swatch used on some of the older Irony models. It's close to a clone but hey, Sorna and Sicura came close back in the '70s with their Seiko lookalike yellow/gold dial chrono style watches so it's nothing new. Besides, I used to live in SE Asia where the joke was, for every 10 high end watches I saw, 11 of them were copies. At least someone now has the sense to use their own branding to add a little respectability!👍
We never got the update! Im curious how you liked it because i just ordered the Orange Sub 300 V3 two nights ago. Not gonna lie, im very excited. Doxa has never been a grail watch for me so i couldnt justify spending $2,400 while saving for my grail (Omega Seamaster 300.) However i do love the design of the Doxa, its very iconic, so i couldnt say no to a very tastefully done homage under $200.
@@ProjectSerpo90It's one of the only two homage watches that I kept hold of after some major changes in my life. No problems with it even now. The V3 has a better bezel with lume pip. It's a great looker whatever version.
So, AU$3000 for the Dox and AU$300 for the Seestern. Extra cost of the ETS movement is around $100 ( eBay prices ). Better clasp on the Doxa worth around $100. So you are basically paying $2500 for the DOXA name. Seems a lot to me, when 99% of people would not know the difference between a DOXA and a Seestern.
Great review. Thank you for taking the time to be so thorough. I thought the teal looked pale but having you confirm that was great. Do you have any indication if they might do a Caribbean blue with orange minute hand? I have a doxa sub 200 which I prefer to the sub 300 case. Perhaps they’ll copy this next.
Very imformative video so I pulled the trigger (before the sale) and it arrived today but they have replaced the black pip on the bezel is now lumed
Looks like a better homage than the Tactical Frog. That turquoise dial is perfect for our summer down here in the South.
Love my Tactical Frog on my orange rubber strap.👍🏻😷🇨🇦
If the outer ring of the bezel was polished like the original than this watch would look so much more beautiful, also the clasps could be improved with a sliding extension but other than that this is a nice homage.
I hope seestern address these details 🙏🤞🏻
I was really leaning into the Maranez….until now! This looks great….thanks bro! Awesome shots of it 👍🏼👍🏼👊🏼
Nice one man, what did u think of the fade into the lume shot...i think the orange does something to the cam lens. Got some nice b rolls
@@TheWatcherReviews lol…I was staring at the minute track during that fade in….it was awesome! I had to do a double take to realize what happened.
This will hit Maranez, who are selling theirs for $400
This review is so good that seestern might increase their prices 😆
wow nice watch
Printed indices, and 200m water resistance, vs applied indices and 300 for the Pagani, and the Pagani is $50 less. I’ve been very happy with the Paganis I’ve had, and just ordered a 1719; review upcoming.
Really wish u can get the maranez homage and compare to this. I know mines blew the tactical frog away.
So . . . you like Doxa homages, amiright? 😉. Seestern does look the business. Very much looking forward to your reviews of their 62MAS and Submariner homages (enjoyed the Sub cameo 👍). Great work per usual, Zeb 👍
Did that come across? That i like doxas? Haha nice one Cecil. Always look forward to your comments!
@@TheWatcherReviews Yes . . . Subtle clues throughout + My keen eye = BOOM! Zeb likes dive watches 😁
Seestern watches look excellent, and the name is OK, which is unusual for a Chinese company. Hope they make something more original at some point
They're not just a chineee company, the design and brand lead is actually Swedish
Nice watch
Only thing that lets it down is the fact the markers are printed. Im really looking forward to the subby review though 👍👍
Coming from a watchmaker standpoint having a printed dial can definitely be more robust and durable. You do not have to worry about indices falling off if you are rough with the watch. I have seen this happen on $4000 watches whereas older watches with printed Diles have no issues regarding the indices coming off because they are printed.
Also, the Doxa has printed lume markers and this is a homage so there is that. The clasp is also very close to my Doxa 1200T sans a divers extension.
I have the original it cost £1820 this is worth the money.
I would love to see comparison video of this one against the real doxa sub 300t
Great thouroughly review, mate. Some really nice macro shots there. Ridiculous finishing on the case and bracelet, and I love that little starfish on the crown. Over all that is a quite stunning watch.
My 80s high scool German is sadly mostly forgotten now, but Seestern would for me be pronounced something like sée-schtéetrrn. If that makes any sense lol. We actually need some legit German speaking friends to set this straight lol. Not that it matters much.
Anyways, now I awaite the Seestern 62mas review!
Thanks bud, appreciate the comments. Or we can pronounce it in a Sean Connery accent haha
Thanks for watching as always !
@@TheWatcherReviews Lmao, I'd pay to hear Connery pronounce it.
I have a turquoise one pre-ordered, since their first run sold out. Anyone know if the rubber strap is colour coded to the dial? I'm hoping I get a matching turquoise rubber strap.
The Doxa is a beautiful piece, and for me the Seestern is extremely close. I don't think there's much difference between the movements in terms of accuracy, if you get a reasonable NH35A it should be very close to the accuracy of the ETA 2824-2, I've had some NH35A's that run at +2secs or less per 24 hours whereas my ETA's and Sellita's are all between +3 & +7 secs per day (on wrist kept wound) so with a bit of luck there's not going to be much between the Doxa & Seestern in looks or accuracy. That leaves fit and finish, according to Pete (Chillin' Wit' Watches) here to there isn't much between them, both finished to a high standard. So 2 grand for the Doxa or £150 ish for the Seestern? I took delivery of my silver dial Seestern this week, looks so much better in the flesh than any of the pics I've seen, that sunburst effect is a thing of beauty. The V2 version is very slightly thinner, the bezel height having been reduced by .5mm or so, it wears in typical cushion case way, so comfortable. I had concerns over the legibility of the silver dial but it's surprisingly good even at dusk/dawn and altho' the lume isn't the brightest it does a reasonable job of hanging on, if you're in true darkness. Bezel action is very good, nicely defined clicks and consistent throughout its rotation. The only thing that could have been better would be scews rather than push pins in the fully articulated bracelet, but you're only going to notice that once. Definitely a bargain this one. Great video, thanks.
Mr watcher, do you think seestern will make some of those changes before the 11/11 alliexpress sale. That is when I was thinking of getting it. Hopefully for 149.00- 159.00. Right now is 179.00 Ray and austin
Hi can you tell me the crystal dimensionsr of the seestern please 🙏
It will be interesting to see this in the flesh so bought one . I own both a sub 200 and 300t and want to compare . The sub 300t has a very iconic design and history . but essentially if you merely look at it as a dive watch it probably isn’t that great . Loom is poor , almost 200 grams so heavy on the wrist , unregulated eta mine runs 15 secs fast per day so there are real deficiencies in a watch that costs not far off 2 grand her in the uk . It’s a trade off whether you think the design and history outweighs the shortfalls
Ooh that’s nice. I have a couple of originals (Professionals). I can see me picking up a Black dial(Sharkhunter) as a everyday. I’ve got a nice bund strap I can put on it to channel that “3 days of the Condor” vibe👍.
Zeb, Thank you for the review! I own the Tactical Frog Sub300. Would you be able to confirm if the Seestern Sub300 bracelet is compatible with the Tactical Frog Sub300, please?
Not sure on that one but it should be. I will get getting some v2s in soon
Hello, did you measure the dial diameter ?
I'm caught between this and the phoebus eagle ray.
This one definitely
Brilliant review as always.
I'm so close to pulling the trigger on this seesturn but theres just one thing really bugging me.
The date window is not centered with the numbers and the numbers are slightly on the left like mentioned in the review, does this bug anyone else?
Also do we think that seesturn will bring out a V2 of this watch? If so how long will we have to wait? Thanks
All my Seiko divers have misaligned date wheels😆
@@mertsekeroglu4825
Sorry to hear that about your Seiko's, I have been informed that seesturn are addressing the misalignment of the date window in batch 2.... Not that it bothers you 😉
I miss the lumed pip. Great looing. Prefer the orange.
has someone any idea about Seestern Doxa homage v2 which is thinner than the v1 ? Real Doxa Sub is 14 mm and V1 Seestern 13.7 it much similar the original Doxa they made watch thinner why is that, what is the purpose?!
❤❤❤❤
Do you think it's too big for a 15cm wrist?
Seestern or tactical frog /good?
Any plans for a V2? Glossy dial, bigger font size, dive extension?
Not too sure on that one, i know they will make another batch but if there will be any changes, thats unknown
Oooh This has Given me the Crunchie Friday Feeling Zeb Sir and one I have looked forward to seeing as it’s on my radar and I wanted to compare this with the Tacticsl frog regardless of Tactical Frogs Schoolboy error with the Bezel.
This one Seems by your review to be the one to have and Even if Tactical Frog do a Version 2 with a Bezel Update I can’t see what else they could do over and above Seestern version to warrant buying theirs after missing the party with their first offering.Time will tell.
Another Cracking Review Zeb and as always well Done👍⌚️
Agreed Neilo, not sure what more they can do to improve
Mr watcher, I have a 7 and a quarter inch wrist. Is the orange part of the dial very small. It's only a 42mm. And it seems like the bezel and case take up a good part of that 42mm. Your thoughts on that ?? Would it still look awesome on my 7.25 wrist ?? Ray and austin
Yes it would ray, i gave the bezel measurements in the video too, which is smaller
@@TheWatcherReviews thank you so much for replying
Iam waiting for someone to put Tactical Frog dial and hands into Seestern case !! I liked Seestern Case and Bracelet better than Frog but hands are short... Not touching the indices. And applied indices of Frog looks better.Maranez did a better job of printing indices. Prefer to wait untill some one come up with a better version.
@The Watcher - the title stated this was a full review video, Was there any negatives about this watch? It seemed more like a promotional advertisement than an unbiased review. Just curious so I know what too expect in your future review videos. Take care.
Well you can check previous videos and future as all are always honest and fair. There were no negatives and just opportunities for improvement. I felt the font on dial needed to stand out a little more. Most othet observations are subjectives and preferences but they're not negatives. There was nothing that didn't work or defective on the watch. I think throughout the review i mentioned bits to improve on.
Seestern o technical frog.
The TF has applied indices for the same money.
But the lume lasts twice as long on the seestern from my lume tests. Amazing.
@@watchmewithwatches lume really isn’t that important to me; the applied indices represent more value for money.
Hi Watcher. Found a link on aliexpress that delivers to my country. I want to buy 2 of these watches. A yellow one and teal one. But I want them to be shipped as 1. There's no option for that. How do I go about to do it? Thanks.
you can place both in basket and create order, it should charge you as one. If not, ask the seller to create you a special link for both. Alternatively use checkout by qiwi wallet, add a false number and create dud order which the seller can amend.
I'm definitely looking at getting the orange one.
Another question, are you going to be getting in their Monster Homage?
Did someone realize this isn't a "replica" or did the comment get deleted?
Does the Seestern Doxa homage have the same date wheel issue that the Seestern 62mas homage has? The misaligned date printing was properly called out (thank you) on the 62mas review, but if the issue was that their 3rd party manufacturer of lumed date wheels printed them incorrectly, would that not also be true of the lumed date wheels throughout their model range? No one has said anything about misaligned date wheels on the Doxa homages, but a closer look at this review would suggest that it has the same problem. Mr. TheWatcher (sorry, don't know your real name!), could you please speak to this, with regards to the Doxa homage, and any other Seestern (Sub, I believe) that you might have?
The issue is not as visible on the Doxa, i think the date is only very slightly to the left but doesn't look bad like the 62mas
@@TheWatcherReviews Thank you for the prompt reply! Glad to hear it. Have you looked at the Doxa homage with the date wheel showing a single digit? I understand the misalignment is most pronounced with the single digit date showing, but as the Seesterns arrived for most people after 9/9, I think most owners/reviewers simply set the date wheel to the then-correct double-digit date, which probably obscured any misalignment. Curious if your observation re the Doxa homage takes into account single digit dates. Finally, I fully realize you don't owe me any answers to any of my questions, so I offer my gratitude for any answers that you do provide. Much appreciated.
FFS, had to be the Germans again to see(stern!) some well made homages (even coming from Chinaland...!) 😜😲

I just wish somebody made really good quality replacement Doxa dials and could swap them out for the original Seestern dial!
(Oh wait, that’s ME. HMU for details.)
How do I get your details?
A great watch, but just a bit overpriced in my opinion. More than twice the price of a Addiesdive Captain Williard. I get that it has a much better bracelet, but overall very similar specs and not leagues apart
Seeing as the 300T is £1800+ I think this is very well priced for the spec at less than 10% of the price. There aren't many 300T homage watches, so maybe when Tactical Frog release V2 with a proper bezel, competition will take hold. Until then; this is a steal.
There are a shit ton of brands doing Willard homages, so there must be a dirt cheap supplier making cases and components by the thousands every month. In the other hand there were no Doxa homages this affordable on the market, and the case seems to be different than the Tactical Frog and the Maranez, which means there is some R&D involved, which means the costs of producing the components go up and hence the cost of the watch goes up too. Apart from that, I suppose a Doxa homage is more complicated and expensive than a Willard, the "double bezel" with the Doxa pattern on the edge, the beads of rice bracelet instead of a regular oyster, and so on. This means that even if the supplier made an equal number of parts for both watches, ignoring R&D costs, the Doxa parts would be more expensive. They are more expensive, however, for what I said earlier too, so you have a lot of factors that push the price up. Then the parts could be of better quality too, and this is indeed the case between a $250 San Martin and a $80 Steeldive. Both have the same specs, Nh35, ceramic, sapphire, solid bracelet, etc, but the actual quality is day and night between the two, and you can clearly see which one is the better watch if you hold them side by side. Lastly, they can charge whatever they want as long as it's under $400, as the only other decent Doxa homage was the $400 Maranez. A shortage of homages for a particular design allows the brands to charge more because there is no competition and people just want to get the design at whatever cost they can find, inside a reasonable "homage price range" which for a lot of people is under $300. Maranez was already pushing it at $400 so I think Seestern priced themselves perfectly.
I should add, unless you don't like the Willard or you already have one from any other brand, you should always have the Steeldive in your collection. I've owned it and it's excellent value for the $80 I paid. That said, it had flaws and you could feel it was an affordable watch, something I don't feel with the San Martin retro diver which I think punches above it's weight and easily into Steinhart territory.
Really well put and you're exactly right. The willards are a very cheap and mass produced case so they can sell it for such a less price. It is a really well made case too. But all the points you made highlight the value for money on this piece.
Love Doxa shapes but come on, every single picture on Aliexpress has a watch with misaligned date. Your's also looks slightly off-center (towards the left). Pity as everything else looks good.
Yes ive raised that with them and i will have a response
How difficult is it to remove links? Logo on dial, clasp and crown is very cheesy looking.
Easy to remove links, split pins used
Homage watches are I guess heavily inspired by an original design but this borders on a total ripoff of the Doxa. Yes the name is changed on the dial but really that’s about it for the appearance. It’s past being a homage watch to a blatant rip-off.
The Tactical frog case shape and thickness is far better than seestern
The case is the only thing the frog did better. The bezel, the lug holes, the bracelet and maybe the dial also are better in the seestern.
@@panchoskywalker you are right...we need a Tactical Stern
Yeh i agree with that, the case was a bit more slim line whereas this is more in like with the 300t
@@TheWatcherReviews i like that the case is more like the Doxa 300t. That will give more Doxa vibes.
On their website, they are offering an optional rubber strap for extra 10$. Any idea how it looks like and what is the colour?
David at facebook group was mentioning that the clasp can not be replaced due to the way it is fitted even that it works very well. Do you think if the clasp had a problem, it means that we to replace the whole bracelet?
Thanks for your review.
@@hammoudabouhammoud5501 the clasp can be removed and replaced its joined on the ends i believe. I will double check
the problem with seestern is once they sell their 500 or whatever V1 in a month, they come out with a V2 a month later. And when they sell out on that? What a V3? I don't like having the "old" one 30 days later. A year, like Apple? Maybe. A month? Pass.
Too bad it’s so heavy and too heavy. I might have bought one.
Too heavy? If it's too heavy maybe dive watches aren't for you. 200grams + is heavy this is a middleweight, the case is so comfortable you hardly know it's there.
@@oktc68 are you weight shaming me?? You should be reported
@@gmotionedc5412 🤣 sorry absolutely no offense intended! I don't know what your wrist size is but I've heard 7 inches is average, that would make the Seestern 150 grams, often stated to be the sweet spot. Anyway I doubt you're as puny as I and I don't notice any of my heavier diver, at least one is 200 grams + don't underestimate yourself! 😉
Way overpriced for that standard specs...plenty of other similar of better timepieces with lower price tag
Would disagree
Yeh i would too. That said you can get a pagani for £60 with same " specs" if that's what you're after
@@TheWatcherReviews well friend, just to make myself clear, its not just the "specs", its the watch as a whole. One example, imho the Heimdallr Monster is "more watch" than this piece from a brand nobody had heard about before, and the price is lower. Its like the new kid on the block throwing punches above his weight...unless you re a die hard doxa fan there r other options, thats my point. Regards
Yeh its a different style of watch aswell. Yes the monster homage is an really well built watch and u cant top these specs...where do you go from sapphire? Stainless steel? Yes there are other movement options and i think for an emerging brand they seem to be punching heavy. Heimdallr is plagued by QC issues and inconsistencies. Cheaper price means much lower QC too. So i think overall they've done well for a new brand and still offer good quality and value but ofcourse there is room for improvement.
I like these kind of comments as discussions are always meaningful so always offer your opinion my friend!
I used to think that homages are plain rip-offs. The more I look into this the fuzzier the line becomes. One can argue that all watches, yes, all, derive their designs from those of other companies. That said, fakes should be banned as it is clearly not legit to copy or even imitate trademarks
It's Bad
Wtf is this? A copy of a doxa🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
