I love using foam clay for cosplay projects, especially headpieces because it's so lightweight 🙌 would love to see you use it in additional projects, it really is magical 🤗
Great video! Foam clay is fantastic. I use it for miniature basing and dioramas, it is especially great when using texture rollers. It doesn't stick to everything as much as what milliput or green stuff does.
Those sticky-outy bits on top of the castle walls are called Crenulations, or individually, a Crenel. The entire defensive fortifications of a castle are Battlements.

I cosplay and use SO much of this stuff! I have a couple of those buckets that you have as well (the shop they come from is pretty local to me, so I can just drive there and go cosplay shopping until my heart's content). You should absolutely try to make a full foam armour set at some point. Maybe of that space ranger(?) figure you made? It was painted red.
That is so funny, without knowing it you sort of sculpted Asterix´s village (in case you know the French Asterix comics which have been around for many decades).
Jazza you are annoying me you’re just too good at everything keep up the good work I love your videos And it’s so cool to start to experience The getting good at one thing can make you good at other things in art
Yes and no. It is an air-dry clay, but you can make fully functional, bouncing ball out of foam clay, if you want. Thats the only way I know how to describe it, its so different from any other air-dry clays.

I think a good "filler" video would be Mrs. J fielding calls about Jazza's behavior. "yes, this is Mrs. j"...."no, I did not know he was arrested." ...."public disturbance? was he dressed in costume?"..."it's just an art project" "the fire brigade?" ..."was a building actually damaged or was it just smoke?" "yes, he did get a permit to parade through city center" "no, I did NOT know he spent $10k on WHAT was it?...recycled newspaper" "yes, we've cleared it with everyone. you can land the helicopter on the parking lot"
This is exactly what I did with the Crayola version of it. I even ripped up some that had dried to get rough, craggily surfaces. I worked perfectly and since I used it for the basis of a wall hanging, the light weight was very much a must for me.
You know, I was just wondering how I was going to make my ancient armour cosplay from Breath of the Wild because it would need to be foam, but I would have an easier time sculpting all of the intricate details out of clay (though I can't wear that) And then along comes Jazza showcasing the exact thing I needed.

I LOVE foam clay ! I originally started using it to make my kid obscure figures/toys that were impossible to find or expensive which it’s perfect for because if you use a wire base and work very thinly then it still has minimal movement like bending the arms ect ! And if it’s breaks super glue works crazy good to fix it .. I’ve seen multiple youtubers (not Jazza obviously) bag it saying it’s useless , you can only do very simple child like stuff with it but it’s just not true ! Realistic is very ultra hard yes but I have made some awesome very detailed models using this clay you just have to go slow and work in very thin layers and add tiny bit by bit while drying in between ! If you try to make the whole piece in one go then yes it will be cartoony and simple . Wire and tin foil are your best friends with foam clay and you should keep the unused clay covered at all times it starts to dry crazy quick ! Instead of carving out details which is super difficult with this clay you just build up your details by adding bit by bit ❤
I had to take a screenshot of your post, since it has so much useful information I just know Ill need later. I got more of this stuff than anyone should, so thank you for all the tips :)

@@janemiettinen5176 that’s awesome I hope it helps !! The reason I said bit by bit (I add cm thickness onto the alloy foil base to start but then go down to mm or so thickness) is because if you go thick the very outside drys quick but the inside stays mushy for days! Something I didn’t include is water ! I reset my clay constantly it’s the only way to get a real smoothed out harder texture and if any mistake is made or even just want to add a touch of colour with the clay you can get a tiny bit and keep smoothing it out with a wet finger in you palm till it becomes a mushy paste and you can just rub it into the Dry clay , I do this too to stick details on like just wetting dry clay it won’t stick it properly you really have to rub in new wet clay first . No amount of clay is too much clay you’ll get through it ! I’m forever buying more 😂 just don’t get disheartened ! Jazza has such an amazing level of creativity and gets to play around with all sorts of different art mediums. He truly has the dream job!
Using the puzzle ends of those foam mats for the turret grooves was a genius idea!
Watching this, I would love to see a collaboration with Shad to create ''The Ultimate Castle'' diorama
Who ever made Foam Clay is a freaking genius! Love the build btw!
The first creation look like the village from “Asterix and Obelix” the French comic 😄

Also, foam clay is realllyyyy fun in making slimeee
