Some judges are book smart. Some are street smart. Judge Simpson has that rare combination of both. Which makes him an excellent judge
One of my coworkers has him as a professor, says he’s more relaxed in the classroom but just as street and book smart.

She was the correct size at one point. Stress eating from abuse is very common. Weight is easy to put on and really hard to get off.

sometimes people don't realize how things look sitting down vs standing up, how sheer things really are in bright light, etc - unfortunately she may have learned this the hard way (on the internet that lasts forever)

That may be her best dress. My guess is the second handand she thought she look nice. In my life, I have known many different types of people, women. A lot of these women and people don’t have a clue of what is proper in certain situations. In my few college days, one of my classes was a speech class. Well, I’m not a great speaker. But I did have a sense of how to dress. So my speech was on how to dress for an interview. You wouldn’t believe the type of questions I got at the end of that little speech. Cara question Zach do you need to wear matching pants and jacket for men? Does it have to be a button down shirt, do you need a tie? What kind of shoes are you supposed to wear as you can see from these questions most have no idea what is proper for different situations whether it is court, interviews, a wedding. So I am not surprised at this. Is it proper, no. Is she neat and clean yes. one thing I have to remind you of is this class was held 65 years ago. As you can see, things have not changed much.

There’s also something to be said for refraining from berating easy targets as a mark of well developed social skills

If the defendant is calling the victim using other people's PINs, charge those others with the same violation until a law can be drafted that makes that crap illegal. That should stop it cold.

All these dv cases are the same. No contact order, violated, phone privileges revoked, violated. Victim doesn't show up for trial, dismissed.

In the last case, if someone is on call restrictions, why are they still being allowed to make phone calls? Doesn't make any sense. I feel like it's part of the jail's fault as well.

#3 The huge possibility is, intimidating the victim 🤬 The victim isn't even safe while he's in jail! Why aren't the officers watching him more closely!?? He shouldn't be on the phone!!!

It’s really disheartening to see so many comments focused on the witness’ fashion faux pas instead of keeping the focus on the importance of her testimony, not to mention the fact that there are-or used to be-rules against openly and _publicly_ ridiculing easy targets. Do people really have so little judgement and self control?? Or is it the lack of consequences for the truly horrible comments people make that embolden them in such blatant and cruel disrespect?? I, too, had an immediate ungracious thought, but I sternly repressed it and silently asked silent forgiveness for my cruel impulse, which is definitely what others should have done.
I’ve never loved a judge so much. I hated them when I got busted all the time but I’m clean now so haven’t been arrested since the 90s. From the 70’s and 80’s to the 90’s. He is so fair and funny.

The Courts in my city would have stopped that witness from entering the courthouse dressed like that with. Our attorneys and prosecutors go over thr courtroom's dress code, attire and decorum before any hearings
