    It’s so ridiculous when people tell a judge “I can’t go to jail I have responsibilities.” Yet, they didn’t think about those responsibilities when they committed the crime. 🤦🏼‍♂️

    • @TheMurph20
      @TheMurph20 4 місяці тому +6

      And we all know this dude has ZERO responsibilities other then going to where he is not wanted and harassing people and fighting cops and waiting on his free housing and social security money which he should lose if he keeps.gojng to jail.
      I know back in the day I messed up and got locked up and lost everything and had to stsrt over....it's part of the game you play committing crimes........he is aware of this but thinks he can lie out of it
      Finally somebody locks him up

      @cynthiamgrooms8195 Are you a clinical psychologist? He was told not to go a high-traffic drug area and he went anyway. Let's say he IS mentally unstable, I'll give him a pass on the way he mis-handled his interaction with the police...but in that case he is too unstable to be trusted again out on the streets. Judges have an obligation to protect the public, and Simpson is a good judge of character in that respect.

      I heard Judge Simpson speak to a woman whose husband was on trial in a property dispute over hoarding. I really respect and admire Judge Simpson.

      @@ppw2393 I love this so much. I feel like judges definitely start out their judgeships with the intention of holding criminals accountable and keeping society safe, but after getting burned so many times and the lies they get told on the regular, they become jaded. With this judge, you can tell that above all, he is lenient and compassionate with first time offenders and stern with repeat offenders. All in all, he has kept his human side front center. Thanks for sharing.

    Imagine how much money we would save if we simply provided the last defendant with the treatment, support, long-term case management, and supervision he requires? Get him stable, keep him stable, protect society. Instead, its bandaids, corrections, crisis, cops, court, jail (and victimizing innocent victims of the general public), indigent tent farms of the homeless. You don't need to be a Clinician to realize that jail isn't going to help the defendant "straighten up and fly right." He can't do this even if he wanted to. These people need help and society needs to be safer. This current system is not working, has never worked, can't work - and everyone loses.

    why are those two people talking on the left side of the defendant they should just excuse themselves, and why do they keep showing an empty chair. This judge has a lot of patience

    Public Defender Feaster approaches, "Good morning Judge!"
    Judge Simpson, "Oh boy, here we go." Love seeing how he interacts with him.

    The problem with the last defendant was not that he wanted another chance, he wanted to have INFINITE chances just so he could do whatever he wanted with no consequences. Judge Simpson was right in not giving him another chance. However, I do love that he was smiling and laughing a bit as well.

    Sickening to see a mature man crying and begging to let out after all three -four breaks he already had and screwed them up.....no self respect on the defendants part shame on him

    Atleast he has a sense of humour about it like that's the coolest judge in the world and as for that last fella he put in his worth trying to guilt the judge into breaking but he knows he deserved to go to gaol he was told to stay away and couldn't he's all tough when he's outside but folds like a piece of paper when he's locked up sorry buddy you do the crime you serve the time that's a lesson I learned before I was 2

    Check out the 30min mark around when the guy is crying and says his grandmothers birthday is on a certain day and Judge Simpson says " I know" not for that reason but I would try to use it as defense but the guy is screwed either way. He didn't mean it that way but but after 4 times and excuses why not throw it in.
