@@homesteadevolution I just asked because I want to have some meat saved for what appears to be coming. The world is getting worse. I just want to try to stock up some meat for the family. Thank you God bless.
That is a great idea. Yes stock eveything you can. You can can most meats. We can a lot of meat so it is shelf stable. I don't like relying on freezers. Get yourself a ball canning book and follow it. Canned meat is so tender
Do you have any tasty recipes for the canned quail?
We usually put it soup or casserole in place of chicken and make a quail salad instead of chicken salad for sandwiches
How about adding something like fresh garlic and or peppers or pepper flakes in the canning process?
I would jot add garlic however other seasonings would probably be okay. Just remember it will intensify the flavor of the spice.
Newbie here. What are your favorite recipes with the canned quail?
To use it like a chicken. Salad
It will be very tender

From what we have been hearing we have some of the largest quail out there. We are between 12 & 14 oz standing weight. Sometimes more.
@@homesteadevolution I think myshire is up to that weight, I need to work on only breeding my bigger ones.
How long will the meat be good for after this? I’m about to start doing this myself soon.
it will last for years as long as the seal has not been compromised. it doesn't last long on our shelves though
