LRB were pretty big in the US for a time. Glenn Shorrock was the original lead singer with a different style of voice and delivery, but solid vocals and perfect harmonies as well.
Loved it, so glad you listened to it with John Farnham on lead, so much better in my opinion. No offence meant to original lineup lover's. Both great just my preference.🎵🎼🇦🇺
Great song Monty. It's very cruisy. They have great harmonys. And John Farnhams voice is so good in this. I knew the guitar would grab you. Cheers mate. Happy New Year!
I love John, but Glenn Shorrock is LRB. The harmonies of LRB are stunning with all the back up singers being lead singers in early bands ! All in all, it is always great to listen to John Farnham !
Monty, try out Its a long Way There by LRB when Glen Shorrock was the lead singer, it is a masterpiece and trust me the guitar playing will blow you away not to mention the harmonies. Cheers for another on point reaction.
@@stephenmarsh1918 yep, heard them all. grew up on them. I love Farnham, but I was never a fan of their change when he took the helm. Always prefered Shorrock as lead singer and his crooning style.
LRB was originally an Aussie band, and this song was recorded when the original lead singer had left the band and was replaced with the great John Farnham, who is known as Australia's greatest "Voice". LRB is one of my favorite bands of all time and they have a greatest hits album that is excellent. You might want to react to more of their hits. Night Owl and Cool Change are two that come to mind.
@@phunkmonkeycookiegarage7773 sadly now been hijacked by ring ins who are Americans. They have even blocked any one in Australia from downloading anything from them
They are still an all Australian Band, but due to criminal theft of intellectual property that the american courts stupidly allowed, they were forced to lock up the name so that it could only play a mere handful of songs that the thieving !@#$% had his name on the credits. Then they changed their name to BSG, (Birtles, Shorrock and Gobel). And they can sing their entire full line up of songs to their hearts content.
LRB have been compared to The Eagles; the original lineup had 2 lead singer changes: first Glenn Shorrock, then Farnham. You may like this: ua-cam.com/video/jJcqIfXsgs0/v-deo.html
Glenn Frey loved LRB when they toured america and opened for The Eagles. So much so that he returned with them back to Australia on his own and toured with them in 1988. He absolutely loved them and said they sung exactly his style of music.
OMG their harmonies were crazy good. John Farnham’s voice is off the charts. I love Glenn too, but Farnsey just takes it to another level.😊
My favourite songs by them with John Farnham is Reminiscing and We Too. Hope you get to them.
LRB was a band of the highest quality, no matter whether Glenn or John fronted them.
It's never about the lyrics....it's about John's voice.

Little River Band song “It’s a long way there” is my favourite from this band, it’s an amazing piece of work
Something Creedence CR about this performance, only better.

Originally an Aussie band lol, they always were and always will be an Aussie band.

Except there’s not a single Aussie left in their current lineup.
@@janreznak881 That's why no one is listening anymore. Happy New Year all 🍾🥂

The album this song was released on was called "The Net", the artwork was the album cover.
👍

LRB generally remind me of The Eagles...but this track is kind of Creedence Clearwater Revival..ish.
