A sublime musical journey of 3 exquisite guitars and multiple vocals from the heavens! Thanks for watching! 🥰
This has always been an excellent song, great driving music from the land of Great long drives...Australia.
I bet the scenery aint bad either for those long drives!
There is a wonderful live version from Australian TV which has no strings but the same layout. Worth a search for filling out the experience of the song.
Thanks..
Great choice. Not nearly enough people get to hear this song. It's a work of art. Another great Aussie band.
The best 👍🏴
I absolutely love this song. This version, not the cut up short version. The vocals and guitar riffs are fantastic. Very underrated classic.
LRB one of the most underrated bands ever!💖
In the 70's, when stoned, this version ran for about 27 hours.😵💫
Glenn’s voice is sublime and the harmonies are crystalline. They were big when I was a teen. My mother mistook their song Lonesome Loser as Lonesome Bluebird 😂. Lennon said his favorite was Reminiscing.
This is my favorite LRB song. So damn great!
LRB is always a remarkable band. Such an incredible lineup of music. This song in particular gives a surreal experience
im 57. love all kinds of music. first time ive ever heard this. super stuff. dont how i missed it way back when. Thanks for reacting to it!
Hi Todd. I'm right with you with the "loving all kinds of music" sentiment. Cool that this was a first listen for you as well. You're very welcome and thanks for watching!
My power went out in the snow storm. Catching back up on videos. This song is FIRE!!!!!!
Nice research, mate. Excellent review. It's been a long time since I've heard this one. Graeham Goble writes great songs and always concentrates on interesting harmonies.
Excellent description of this masterpiece.
Never knowingly heard them before. A very pleasant surprise. Top musicianship.
A long, long time ago, I happened to show up to a ticketron outlet just as they were opening up the orchestra pit for tickets to The Little River Band and Ambrosia concert at Chrysler Hall. The show was sold out, so they opened up the orchestra pit to sell a few more tickets.
So I was able to buy tickets the day of the show, and got to sit in front of the front row.
Both bands put on an incredible show, as I recall.
Oh man, I bet that was incredible. Two phenomenal bands!
I remember when the Wife & I were doing the "gypsy thing" travelling Australia. We went through Little River. It's a place non-discript. The music however, utterly spectacular!
I remember back in the 70's, we never liked the radio station our boss put on... but then, The Little River Band! Yay! 🤗
Brilliant
I'm glad that you love this as much as I. Anytime I see someone discovering LRB through their later hits, I always suggest that they go back and experience this masterpiece in it's full length version. Similarly, if you get into Icehouse - start with some of their earlier, more adventurous synth-driven stuff like "Icehouse"(same song title as the band), "Great Southern Land", and "No Promises".
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy "your past"... and mine... always loved the sweet sounds of LRB... thanks for reminding me... blessings.
Glad you did this one! Always a favorite of mine. It is not complicated, but it keeps switching up and the vibe is incredible. It radiates the spirit of the 70s. I think it couples well with another underappreciated track from the Doobies - "I Cheat the Hangman"
I use to hear this on the radio back in the day and thought it was ok A few months ago i heard the album version with my headphones and it was like hearing a different song and loved it so much i had to learn it on guitar great band
Nothing soft about it....ranks right there with ARS and their live version of Angel.
My favorite LRB song this and Curisody Killed The Cat great reaction ❤❤
Saw them at in the florida theater Jacksonville in late 80s maybe . Love this song but they always chopped it in half on the radio
Great stuff! Gonna have to recommend more Aussie bands for you like Hunters and Collectors, Hoodoo Gurus, Ice House, Paul Kelly. So much good music out there!
You know...the guitar work in this is easily as good as anything from any band in the UK or America. Brandon, you REALLY need to check out more Australian bands...the many classic rock bands of our (Aussie) 70's, 80's and 90's...Midnight Oil, Australian Crawl, The Divinyl's, Ice House, INXS, ACDC and many more. Those are a good start! SO get cracking. Your audience will tell you which ones to listen to first.
Hi there! Yes, Midnight Oil and INXS have long been on my to do list. I know a lot of INXS songs. Had no clue Divinyls and ACDC were from there! And I've never heard of the other 2 bands...
Thanks for the prompt reply. Ok, well you have a lot of work in front of you. Get cracking. You can show up a lot of other reactors by posting some of the famous, or should I say infamous songs, that our Aussie bands have put out. Start with the 'early' Midnight Oil, not their latest stuff which is really lame! "I don't wanna be the one", or "Section 5 - Bus to Bondi", "Koala Sprint", "Stand In Line".@@retroreactions....
Thanks for the guidance on Midnight Oil!
Late night reaction….I’m up as always though 😊. I’m watching the start of our snow storm….we’re supposed to get about 12”!! Great song, I’m not real familiar with Little River Band, but do enjoy what I hear. I was a little surprised that LRB made your top 12, being you’ve only done a couple reactions of theirs. I think you said you whittled the list down from 26 or so…. not an easy decision! I still think my favorite of theirs is The Night Owls.
Hey bud! Wow, 39 views so far...you just can never tell...I figured at this late hour it would get 5 or 10 views only for a while....At least tomorrow's is guaranteed to release early in the day since it's been filmed already! Snow? What is that LOL....Let's just say that last time I walked in snow was about 1992 and before that probably 1980!! Yes, I'll assume LRB was the most shocking pick...I just keep being blown away by them, even though I've only done 3 and know about 3 more from way back. The rest of the week's are not surprising at all I think. And yes, it was painful cutting bands like IQ and Level 42 off the list! Tomorrow's is a stunner! Have a great night 😀
Stay safe during the storm...I'm sure you're used to it, living in that area for so long 🙂✌
'Remanising' next
It is so great not having a reactor that talks throughout the music. Some even sing or try to.
Thanks!
I've Always enjoyed LRB..Mostly when they asked John Farnham to "take over" for their lead singer. I highly recommend John Farnham also known as The Voice of Australia!❤
Hi Mary! I'm loving everything that I'm discovering from them. Hmm, not sure I've heard John on any of their songs? I'll have to investigate. Thanks so much for watching and being first today here! 🥇
So when is The Final Cut coming up?
