  • Certainly! Here are some important safety instructions for driving:
    1. Buckle Up: Always wear your seatbelt and ensure that all passengers do the same.
    2. Stay Alert: Avoid distractions like texting, and stay focused on the road.
    3. Obey Speed Limits: Adhere to posted speed limits and adjust your speed for road conditions.
    4. Maintain a Safe Following Distance: Keep a safe distance behind the vehicle in front of you to allow for sudden stops.
    5. Use Turn Signals: Signal your intentions when changing lanes or making turns.
    6. Observe Traffic Signs and Signals: Follow traffic signals and obey road signs.
    7. Don't Drink and Drive: Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
    8. Check Your Blind Spots: Use your mirrors and turn your head to check blind spots when changing lanes.
    9. Stay within Your Lane: Maintain your lane discipline and avoid weaving in and out of traffic.
    10. Be Mindful of Weather Conditions: Adjust your driving to suit the weather, whether it's rain, snow, or fog.
    11. Give Way to Pedestrians: Yield the right of way to pedestrians at crosswalks and intersections.
    12. Use Your Horn Sparingly: Honk your horn only to alert other drivers of your presence, not as a form of frustration.
    13. Avoid Aggressive Driving: Stay calm and patient, and avoid road rage.
    14. Regular Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure your vehicle is well-maintained with working brakes, lights, and tires.
    15. Stay Informed About Road Conditions: Be aware of road closures, accidents, or construction on your route.
    16. Use Hands-Free Devices: If you need to use your phone, use a hands-free device to minimize distractions.
    17. Be Courteous: Show respect and courtesy to other drivers on the road.
    18. Plan Your Route: Know your route in advance and have a backup plan in case of unexpected detours.
Remember, safe driving not only protects you but also the people around you. Always prioritize safety on the road.

Escort truck had a sign, didn't see no light but video wasn't great quality either. First three trucks just plain old weren't looking out the windshield. Most of the rest, too. When they neither slow down nor move over until the last second, you know they're just plain not paying attention. And what are those shiny things you can see sticking out to the sides? I always thought those were mirrors so you could see if there was someone next to you before changing lanes, but I guess not!

That's what I keep thinking about the mirrors. Maybe the driver is too short to see over the dash board to see the mirrors, or maybe the cab design is bad. Either way, I don't pass a rig on the right.

Kudos to the hardworking men and women in the trucking industry who **AREN'T** plowing into lines of stopped traffic, speeding through red lights/stop signs, jackknifing on snowy curves at 70 mph (or simply overturning on corners due to excessive speed), randomly taking their rig on an off-road adventure, or PITting innocent drivers into oblivion!
Statistically-speaking, there have to be MANY more of you operating safely than those who are not, or our shelves would be empty. You deserve to be recognized! Be safe out there, and thank you for being the backbone of our economy. Even you end-point delivery drivers out there operating safely (Amazon, FedEx, UPS, etc.) - thank you for all you do, and helping support the societal shift towards online shopping.
Those of you who are blasé about how you operate your ±80,000-lb missile, I hope you eventually reap what you sow. With great weight comes great responsibility. Whether you settle with the legal system, your employer, or your deity of preference, that choice will likely be in your hands far more than your steering wheel, and far more than your phone.
9:09 & 13:49 - Do you even know what a RED LIGHT means?!
9:59 - One "click" higher, and your dashcam would be a UFOcam.

Most of these drivers are driving almost asleep. Electronic logging has done a lot for truckers but the ones who drive under exceptions to the rules are being pushed even harder. 100+ hour weeks are becoming the NORM. One of the people I know quit for just that reason. Loading the truck doesn’t count towards hours and isn’t paid as well. He got no sleep for three days. He quit. His replacement killed somebody through lack of sleep. The attorney for the family tried to go after my friend as well. The judge dismissed him from the case because he quit without harming anyone. The company is defending its practices as the only way to stay in business.

Are they blind in one eye and can't see out the other? Now I know why there are so many ads on tv with lawyers drumming up business for people who have been involved in horrific wrecks with careless truck drivers.

And probably why the cost of goods is also higher. This channel posts new content daily-that's a staggering amount of accidents that have to be costing trucking companies millions if not billions collectively in equipment damage, insurance claims, lawsuits, lost loads. That cost has to get passed on somewhere in the form of higher delivery costs to recoup the losses. If not, there would probably be dozens of trucking companies going bankrupt weekly

I investigated many, many crashes involving semi trucks over 32 years.Out of all of them, at least 80 to 85% were the truck drivers fault.
Usually, it was speed, not allowing enough distance to stop, following to closely, unsafe passing, and more than a few, under the influence of drugs, alcohol, lack of sleep, etc.
The last few years were drivers who did not speak English and were not licensed to operate a big rig or who had obtained thier CDL through questionable means.
Now, There are also many, many truck drivers who are stellar operators, follow the laws, keep outstanding log books, and are quick to call out bad drivers.
As for the passenger car and pickup drivers, thier flaws are not recognizing how fast a semi is traveling, or that the truck speed is deceiving, just like a train on the tracks.

Brother, I've been driving commercial trucks since 2004, the Lord has blessed me and I've never had an accident. I know what I'm talking about. Most truck drivers think they're God's gift but are dumb as hell. Agree with me or not, don't care, facts never change. Drivers recline their seat or sit on the floor or have some kind of obstruction in the window so nobody can see in their truck which also obstructs their peripheral vision. They're never ready for something to go wrong. When it does, in most cases you have at most 1 entire second to make a decision and most ain't ready for it.

Electronic logging has killed the ability to drive safely. The truck turns off automatically whether you’re in a safe spot or not. You can be running down the freeway at 70 mph when you hit the end of your time. The engine shuts off. Good luck stopping safely, much less parking anywhere. A “safety device” that’s responsible for killing more people than it saves. Absolutely insane.

The trucking companies will hire anyone thats breathing, i drove in the 80s and 90s sold out in 2001 , it was getting crazy on the road then, now think how its changed in 23 years, believe me a lot, ragers , drugs , cars running 40 mph over the limit you call it, its happening. Would not drive a truck daily for 500.00 a day ,its a liability !

Someone explain why, when the weather gets bad, truckers drive faster.
Sure, cars are guilty of it as well but an 80,000 pound truck that struggles to stop on dry roads? C'mon.

When you see oversize loads, dont ever assume they are gonna stay in their lane or stay going straight like the thumbnail clip.
Over here in northern Finland, I see almost once a month a wide oversize load coming past on the 2 lane country roads. 1-2 warning cars drive about 1 km ahead to warn others road users. And the one behind blocks the turn lanes to warn the one's behind to not pass/turn.

While the truck driver should have been more attentive at a slowing oversize & maybe eased up to figure what was going on. That escort for the mobile home should have been back a little further & blocking the right lanes to warn traffic of the right turn it was about to attempt. Since it knew they were going right.
From the looks, the trucker thought the home was probably going to stop or turn left, being all the way in the left turn lane lane. So I would put more fault of this on the escort & oversize for not properly providing more warning of a right turn from the far left.

"You want respect, you give respect " . Tony Soprano. Hey, dont worry, it wont be long before vehicles and phones (A.i.) work together and atart snitching to police and insurance companies, about anyone staring at their cell phone instead of THE ROAD".
The younger generations are being handed tablets and cell phones @ 2 yrs old, so they are addicted to them, they need rehab.

what I am seeing is that their a lot of people who call themselves professional drivers who are POS sh*t drivers who cant even follow basic rules.
Drivers of trucks need to be convicted at a higher penalty for incompetence than most drivers just for the damage they can inflict.
Anyone causing a truck to crash should be held at the same higher standard of conviction.
