I had one of those once. Mate and I both braced for a tailspin impact. I don't know how but I pulled at just the right moment on the wheel and it was as close as that. Poor old mate in the passenger seat told me later there people at a nearby bus stop watching and OMG :O as it happened because they were expecting the smack too.
(I was turning across a broad intersection and it looked fine until a car came breezing at us full tilt)

When I was learning to drive, my dad would often say "this guy doesn't know what he is doing, let's just give him space to figure it out".

Yup. If they're listening to country music, they won't cause it (their taste is accident enough, and they're happy just to let life happen). Anything over 120 beats per minute and there's a 70% chance of causing or 95% chance of being involved. Maybe our "nanny state" politicians will ban music/radio in cars. 🙂

Here's a tip from courteous, well-trained drivers in other countries like Germany (and I've seen professional Australian truck drivers also do it here). If you're the last in line of traffic that has slowed or come to a stop on a motorway or similar, turn your hazard lights on. Could just wake up the (potentially distracted) driver behind you enough to pay attention and avoid running up the back of you. Avoiding a crash saves a lot of inconvenience (and potential injuries) for everyone!

At night at least you can go based on seeing headlights but during day time its really hard. thats not the problem at all. idiot countrys like america and australia are still not smart enough to place the lights in front of the junction instead after it.
even when watching the video i feel surprised everytime when there is a car coming from left or right(only if i look at the light trying to see if it is red or green.). you know why? because you got your eyes allready after the junction to see if it is green or red. human are only able to focusing at one point.
place the junction lights in front of it and crashes would go back in no time.
as long as this is not fixed roundabouts would not help at all....maybe a bit.

Particularly if you drive a dark car (or even silver/grey car), you should drive with lights on in overcast/rainy conditions. I would suggest always. I always get a white car for visibility, and will also turn my lights on when conditions warrant (it has running lights on anyway).

Yup notice they accelerated from a left hand turn to 72kmph on what is most likely a 50km zone. I don't get that mentality of driving straight at something, accelerating at that then instead of focusing everything on evading the crash you hit the horn and break at the last second

Put on your goddamn lights you complete and utter tool
And to the the idiot dash cam driver:
      1. If pouring rain don’t overtake truck in front of you, getting someplace a bit later is better than not getting there at all
      2. Don’t overtake in those conditions with a trailer (can’t see don’t overtake)
      3. And even though it doesn’t show it, it was probably happening. Don’t follow so closely to a truck in any conditions let alone the pouring rain with limited visibility

great job on putting together this compilation! it’s always interesting to see how people react in unexpected situations. but honestly, i can’t help but wonder if showing these crashes glorifies reckless driving. it might make some people think it's okay to drive carelessly just for the thrill of it. what do you guys think?
