    I knew this music in feb-94. I was traveling USA with a friend after my university graduates (in Italy) and we stopped in New Orleans for 4 weeks in Tulane university for studying English … (during the carnival 😅😅😅).
    Three wonderful Turkish girls we socialized with in the dorm (international hosts building) invited us in a cajun bar.
    Oh guy … that experience alone was worth the travel and paid back the month. I was born and lived in a country that is said one of the best to live… it may be and don’t care.
    I love and look for diversity and
    That night for me that was the best place to live…😀😀😀
    The genuine and respectful inclusion I experienced that night is still in my memory.
    Every country is the best place to live when they are able to mix and preserve all the colture.

I never heard the song before, but the tempo, rythem and beat is Cajun (Note: Cajun music never uses English in the song, Zydeco does, but not Cajun). Hi Pete. Is this Zydeco music?

    • @petejuneaux7549
      @petejuneaux7549 3 роки тому +4

      @@sandykessler8974 Not even Close!! Zydeco and Cajun are two different kinds of music.
      Cajun Music has three dances or dance beats, Waltz, Two Step and a Cajun Jig, and Cajun music is in French.
      Zydeco has a funky fun beat that you can dance to with a modified version of the East Coast Swing. I have not found any good Zydeco dance tutorials videos that I would recommend, but there are a few really fun ones of people dancing to Zydeco. Hell, I even saw a girl from California doing a Zydeco that was very nice, not Zydeco, but she did really good! Also Zydeco is mostly in English and only makes references or sings short phrases in French.
      If you send me your email, I would love to send you some examples of my favorites of each.
      I will send you some UA-cam Videos, as well as Pandora songs. If you want to see a bad example of a old fat white guy dancing to both Zydeco and Cajun, I will send you some of my personal videos!! Hehehehe.
      I hope this helps. There is a lot of misinformation out there about Cajuns and Creoles and their foods, cultures and music. Even my fellow Coonasses don't know the difference. I truly appreciate you asking for clarity. I hope I can help.
      Thank you

    My late father, Lord have mercy on his soul, played the 'button' accordion (before that the melodeon) and I never thought that this instrument was the main stream of Cazun music! Have listened to this over the years and Pat Conte in New York used to send me all the old recordings from the 78rpm era on the masters of Cazun! I treasured them and they sept my spirit up even in lonely places on my travels!

    It’s always amazing to me that people that have taken the time to learn how to play an instrument so often don’t look like they are having a good time doing it. Most of them looked bored and uninterested to my amazement. It’s not just this particular video either. I’ve seen it time and time again that musicians just look like they would rather be getting a root canal than playing music. If I could do what they were doing I would be smiling from ear to ear!

      Take a trip to Louisiana, USA! Quick history lesson, Cajuns are descended from French settlers of "Acadie" a portion of what is now the the Canadian province of Nova Scotia . In the ongoing battle between England and France for control of eastern North America, France lost control of Acadie and beginning in the 1750s the British began transporting many Acadians to Louisiana, then still a French possession, where they developed their own distinct cuisine, music and culture generally. Not all the Acadians were transported and their descendants also still live in Nova Scotia, primarily on Cape Breton.
