The lady playing the bass looks like she couldnt be happier than doing what she's doing....
That's her husband ripping the fiddle to pieces!
Nadine. I'm pretty sure she's the leader of the group. She does vocals sometimes and her energy there is incredible too.
Nadine loves a good tune. Watching her love Sammie tear it up with that fiddle brings her joy just like it does us!
Yes!
She’s an incredible player
They kill ... they just kill ... it doesn't get any better than this, folks ...
Absolutely....
It's only gets better by listening to them more 😁
It only gets better if your playing music with em
I just watch this over and over and over...
Can't get enough!!!!
They really are on a different level...
Oh sweet hooter nannies! These guys are bleep bleep bleepin' good and then some for bleep sake xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx be 'pon thee darling folk xx
This is one of the things that make me proud about America. Yeah, there are a few things left.....
Its that lovely bass lady again.
Shes a monster, everything is just epic, love it
Everyone always thinks the tempo is held by the bass in an acoustic string band but it's really the person playing "rhythm" guitar, because it is much more audible (it's generally the only "midrange" instrument in the group) to the other musicians playing lead instruments. Super solid here. Not one millisecond of drift in the tempo from the first to the last note, and folks I'm here to tell ya as someone who has played for over 50 years now, keeping the tempo precise and steady in a 5 minute song of this sort, is quite an accomplishment. Quite an accomplishment indeed.
She held it down, though it's not the most exciting song to play on guitar.
I never get tired of this group.
One banjo away from perfection.
Why does Nadine Landry (bass) just make me so happy ? She exudes exuberance.
Coz she's a legend!
@@spartacusmills3569 Really gets into it. Great talent.
sans doute she cute!
ME too!!!
Musical groups are nothing without chemistry. This is some of the best chemistry I have ever seen.
Fiddle and bass player are married. Guitar and mandolin players are married, too.

When examples of wholesomeness are seemingly rare... a breath of fresh air!
Reeb's silence & smile speaks more than her Guitar,🌹
This band plays the best version of this song I ever heard.
The stamina these performers have is amazing.
There´s beauty in the world.
What a great bass player smiles
La petite à la contrebasse, elle est À FOND !!
J'adore !! 💖💖
I love the Foghorn band playing like this. Appalachian punk rock!
I bet Nadine even smiles when she's asleep... bless.
Fantastic music; my toes ache from tapping them so much.

My feet is keeping me awake.!!
God I love a little bluegrass, dirty mountain music and "calling the dance" in my life. I love every note of music played outta these mountains.
It makes this c-virus a little bit easier to get through.
Wonder how many people wanted to learn the fiddle after seeing this performance! You can't be still while this song is playing!
There´s something in this marvelous tune that calls me by my name. Joy and hope Foghorn Stringband bestowed upon me.

Shock and awe, I am impressed, had to pull out my bass and play along.
What a wonderful band! - such incredible energy and skillful playing.

I love watching Nadine play that Bass fiddle, she plays with so much heart and soul and dances to the rhythm while she is playing. Cant get any better than that. You go girl.
I love watching her also, think some time she should be in front of the group
@@ronwisman1767 she's just keeping the traditional bass players position, standing at the back, but that heart n soul is right up the front driving that music along.( I may be biased as a bass player meself.)
Ron Grob, I just learned of Nadine Landry yesterday, a daughter of my First Cousin, whom I last saw in 1972, separated by thousands of miles, now knit together by Gospel Music, Amen!
She’s certainly feeling the music! I love watching & listening to musicians that play with heart like she does.
I love ReeB

Out of this world playing. Every note is spot on with feeling and dedication. Absolute perfection...
Loved this!..Thats some good picking and playing!..
The bassist is 100% happy.
zulu smith Can confirm. Old time upright bass is the most fun I've ever had playing music, and I've been playing funk/rock/jazz/fusion for over 20 years.
Shes jamming..
Indeed...good, good Woman!
@@The_sinner_Jim_Whitney well...please don't guit!
@@The_sinner_Jim_Whitney youre not kidding man. Old time bass is so much fun, and really gets the room hopping. It's hard not to smile when you're playing a rocking tune!
Give that bass player a pair of dancing shoes! Wow ! What a great job!
Wow! That tight rhythm between the Mando and fiddle. Usually I like to hear a banjo on Reuben's Train, but I didn't miss it bit!
I'm Gaspésien and I love so much blue grass. The real people music. Nadine directly from home, la Nadine qui trip au boute.. tien toué !!!
I played in a string band in TX for years & really miss it, especially the contra dances.
I can listen to this every day. So much ernergy and fun!
Quite frankly, the best Rueben's Train ever played!!!

Excellent rendition of a classic song! Y'all sure sound good together. Keep the music coming, please!
Hey Nadine Landry, I'll always love you ~ you are a great bass player, too!!
I'm English and proud. There is DEFO something about Bluegrass!!! Have played this over and over!
Bluegrass has its roots in the music of the British isles.
Freakn love these guys..
Champions absolute champions 👌👍😎
Oh Great music, Hi from Australia 🎶🎸🎙🎼🎼🎶🎵🎵🎸🎻🎙👍🇦🇺
Love Nadine, she can tear that bass up, and have more fun than anyone!!!!!
Tremendous energy from these amazing musicians/singers.
Reuben’s Train sounds like riding in the cab of Santa Fe Railway steam loco 4-8-4 with 80 inch drivers running at 90 MPH to make up lost time with The Fast Mail Train! Well done! Those two ladies make good firemen keeping her hot with just the right amount of water running into the boiler to make enough steam and pressure to run 90 up hill and down.
Best description of Reubens Train ever! Cause you really can see, hear, and feel the train!
Yeehaa! Greetings from The Netherlands (Holland, y'all)
No special effects no electric instruments just pure raw talent and all are so in the grove. No one could take a place in this group they are so in tune with each other just a master piece
I just learned that sweet Nadine on Bass is Sammy's wife (he's the fiddler). Oh me, Oh Lordy my no wonder she has so much energy. Great couple. Wears me out just thinking about being married to that much energy.. You go girl!!!!!!!
Love ya, Linwood Kent
Glad to see someone besides me knows how to spell REUBEN.
That was way above outstanding I simply cannot find the words
The woman on bass. She's got it
French Canadian exuberance! Remember, 'Cajun' is a contraction of Acadian; and l'Acadie was a French settlement in the Canadian maritimes. Nadine's from nearby, on the Gaspé Peninsula. There's a deep living tradition of traditional music in the whole region.
@@pbasswil Best music!
Thats Cool!
I'm glad this music is being keep alive by the younger generation.
I am so grateful these guys made it all the way to Sheffield, England in May 2017 - get over here AGAIN!!!!
The lady playing the bass is having the time of her life...
you go gettem.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best Bluegrass I have ever heard. Unbelievable sound.
Come on folks, this is great BUT, Not Bluegrass - it is old timey.
The Dillards play Rueben’s Train. Go find and listen “Back Porch Bluegrass” , it beats all others.
Call it proto bluegrass. The Dillard’s play it bc it’s an old tune that goes back well before the advent of recorded music, and would have been very dance oriented. Bluegrass was invented, on the other hand, well after in the 40s/50s and was a very specific commercial product offered up by Monroe. Typically the litmus test lays in the three finger syncopated banjo style. And where bluegrass is more focused on improvisation, this older proto style is much more groove and dance oriented.
But who gives a crap. Bluegrass/old time/folk... the lines are pretty blurry. It’s like subcategorizing bebop/hot jazz/etc under the umbrella of jazz.
I just call it country music.
2 Minutes in and I am smiling from left ear to right ear. Great performance, love traditional (!) Bluegrass!!
This band is great! Love ‘em.❤️❤️❤️❤️
I can'ts help but get rowdy sir.
It's in my blood.
Wow! Love it! You guys got it going on!!!
It's better every time I hear it. Oh Lordy My!
The Base Player is superb .... well done you made my night ...... fantastic band and musicians ..... greetings from Ireland
Greetings to Ireland! This music evolved from the music of our Irish and Scottish ancestors who came to America in the 1600-1700's, but I'm sure you already knew that. Just saying.
All of 'em. Hot Damn!
The base player is Nadine. She's great.
THEY REALLY DELIVER !!!
You're the Apple of this poor Missouri lady's eye. WOW OH Me, Oh My what a delight. I'm riding Rueben's Train. You can hear this poor girl "shoutin" for a hundred miles. Thank the Good LORD for you're talent. All good gifts are from HIM Love Linwood Kent. Take me back to Ava Missouri on Rueben's train
That fiddle almost caught on fire!🔥🎻🔥
This makes my heart race
Blues is my thing but after listening to this music, I’m tripping at 76,
Whenever I get low I turn to these videos to make me smile - truly unadulterated fun and wonderful grooving musicianship :-)
Relentless swing! Wonderful cross rhythms! All underpinned by the lovely ladies steadying the ship so that the boys have fun. Wonderful!!!!
