This has happened before. Likely some debris was sitting on the phone buttons, and with people walking on top of said debris, it pushed the buttons, calling people. This was before cell phones had lock screens and people frequently saved common numbers they call as single digit auto-dial numbers. Basically, hold down one of the digits long enough, it will auto-call the person assigned to it. The phone probably wasn’t found because it was sandwiched between pieces of debris that just got loaded in a truck and dumped in a landfill. Once the battery ran out, the calls stopped. As I said, this has happened before and everyone always things it’s mysterious.

The phone was damaged in the crash and being an old phone with physical capacitive buttons, it started calling through his speedial numbers. You’d only need to press 1 and Call, or 2 and call, or 3 and Call, etc. The phone was in a train accident so it’s not hard to imagine the keys being dislodged and applying capacitance to other buttons. Explains why it’s calling and the microphone is busted.

The Metrolink crash was terrifying. I was one of the first responders since I lived within a block of the crash site. The nearby school had its soccer field converted into a field hospital and morgue for all the bodies of the victims. The Salem Witch executions were likely because of the same thing as the Kenyan Witch executions; the local "sheriffs" could seize the land of anyone convicted of being a Witch. It's why Giles Corey never entered a plea and was crushed to death instead of hung. He entered no plea, and his land could not be seized.
It's disgusting how many people were tortured and killed because of greed, but it's not surprising either.

    • @BiggieTrismegistus

Witch hunts both past and present don't have an economic motive. That's putting an inappropriate scientific explanation on events that result from a "premodern" world view. Both past and present there are simply too many witch hunts that occur with no economic motive. Thus the most likely explanation is that what's happening is exactly what it look like.

    • @Skinnamirink
      @Skinnamirink Рік тому +74

@llallogen7380 That was one of the explanations as well. When I went on a historical tour in Salem, they did discuss this as a prevailing theory to the wider hysteria, however, if I recall correctly, the historian noted that there was no solid evidence of there being enough of that naturally occurring fungus to be as widespread as the hysteria was. (I would have to check again to be sure.) Both could easily play into each other-- one or two sick people used as a catalyst for opportunistic folks to claim witchcraft and seize land and possessions.

The motorcycle one killed me to see those TikToks of her just believing it wouldn't happen. My dad has told me this story many times about one of his close friends passing away in a motorcycle accident, and he was following the rules. Like he was turning left in an intersection and some guy coming out from the left didn't see him and he got hit and killed. Keep in mind, someone following the rules still got in an accident. And because he was on a motorcycle, his injuries were far more severe. So thinking about someone NOT taking precautions makes my blood boil because motorcycles are some of the most dangerous vehicles to ride on the open road, and any injury you would get from a car crash is going to be a lot more damaging on a motorcycle

I always cringe with these types of people who think just cause they have "experience" means nothing bad will ever happen. My dad had been driving motorcycles for 45 years and had his first and only accident in 2019. It was bad; broke every rib on his right side, a few on his left side and was left with a hernia (which he named Bob), cracked three vertebrae in his back, broke his wrist, and had road rash all over his entire body. The only reason he lived is because he's a bigger guy with a lot of "padding" shall we say and wore his full gear. He got the death wobble and couldn't recover, flipping over his handlebars and taking out a wooden signpost with his body. I got the camera footage and it was terrifying. He has no ego when it comes to his rides. Be safe or be dead. Motorcycles don't often give second chances.

It’s 100% “spooky ghost stuff” bc they tracked the phone location, the only reason they were even able to finally find his body beneath the mangled wreckage, but only to never find his phone. That would mean “someone” found his phone, stayed there with his dead body, repeatedly dialing his loved ones-but oddly not 9-1-1-only to sneak away unnoticed, even tho he’s squarely in the center of all the carnage, with the phone in tow, but in window of them having found his location and then his body.

  • @MarioGoatse
    @MarioGoatse Рік тому +845

Charles Peck’s phone was damaged in the crash and was calling through his speed dial numbers. Pretty spooky, but logically explained with old school phones with physical capacitive buttons. The soft rubber keypads had capacitive dots on the back that correspond to a number on the phone. When you press that button, it creates a connection to the number. If you dislodged that keypad (like in a crash), the dots could be making a connection without needing to be pressed physically. On Speed Dial you have up to 9 numbers assigned. Pressing number 1 and then Call will call your first Speed Dial number. Pressing 2 and then Call will call your second. Etc, etc. This explains how calls cycled through his family, who would have been in his speed dial contacts IMO.

So, I'm stupid and let curiosity get the best of me because I wanted to understand how any of it were even possible: I watched some of the Kisii witch stuff and it's BRUTAL. Most disturbing is the people being burned to death because theyre literally alive, moving around, and burning for a VERY long time, meanwhile being beaten with sticks and having more flaming items thrown on top of them.
There's one guy in particular who I have no clue in regards to how he was still alive. He's sitting up in the fire, totally burning, but not trying to flee like the rest of the people. As the flames are engulfing him, he continues to sit there and doesn't show a single sign of the unimaginable pain he must have been in despite eventually being totally engulfed by the fire. There's a lot more but that's as far as I'm going with it.
Honestly, I just didn't expect people to be able to live that long under those conditions. There was a ton of footage but I'm not willing to ever look at another bit of it.

We all kept warning him that he's a new rider with little experience and to stop being an idiot. That weekend we all did our thing and we came back in to a big sign saying he had passed away (without the reason why). I jumped on a local news page and found out he messed up on a turn going way too fast, hit a curb, was thrown off the bike and went head first into a tree. 19:30 I was just about to explain this; many tribes or ethnic groups still deeply believe in witchcraft, my mom vehemently does to the point she acted like I would immediately have witchcraft cast on me if i even looked at someone in my mom's country if I ever were to visit. Went on a whole erratic spiel, but then again, she has never been mentally stable. Anyways, my dad believes in it, witchcraft, but when he talks about it, it's to mock me and joke with me (as I love cats and even in Africa, at least in the part of West Africa my dad and mom are from, cats are associated with witches and witchcraft, which is fascinating as they also are in other cultures across the world, most notably as _familiars_ in Western fantasy/fiction, from novels to cartoons) you can tell he's more lighthearted about it, but he still tells witchcraft stories and what not. The throttle isn’t the only thing in your hands, your passenger’s safety and lives are in them too. My dad called our phone service provider who told him that my uncle's phone line had been disconnected 3 days prior and was no longer operational so we couldn't be receiving calls from that number, since it didn't exist. But she had a feeling that it was him and talked to him. She couldn't hear anything but static.
She didn't receive a call after that anymore. When she showed us her phone log history, under the time of the calls she received , there were no names and no numbers just an empty space which I've never seen before and after that.

    1) Sadly, the team working on the rails weren't supposed to be there in that precise moment. This type of operation has to be done only after a railway traffic stoppage has been given by Traffic Regulator. PROPERLY, This hasn't been given and so, no work were allowed.
    2) No, the train didn't came out of nowhere because the train got a proper permission to operate as always, by signaling and everything.
Yes, we're still mourning for the loss of the five, because of the their lives being broken in such a terrible way. But, this would have been avoided if the damned hurry to "finish the job" would be set aside... Hurry is the enemy of safety.

The witch trial reminded me of a story from Brazil, where a woman was lynched around 2014 due to a rumor spread online that she would be a kidnapper. Pretty much the entire town gathered around to watch her get brutally beaten up. She was bipolar and had some altercation with a woman and her child, which quickly escalated into a rumor that she was a kidnapper who used kids in black magic rituals. 3 years later another rumor popped up using the images of her lynching that she would have burned a child with sodium hydroxide.
Poor woman was having stories made up about her even after death.
What's more disappointing is that people still do this on Twitter and TikTok daily, people never stopped making assumptions about situations that don't even involve them, it keeps happening to this day.

I was born and raised in Salem MA, fun facts about this place and a little conspiracy theory from there.
When we were in elementary school every year we would go over the Salem witch trial we honestly thought that they were grooming us to be tour guides when we grew up since we knew the lore so well some people I even knew from school ended up being tour guides.
There is a real life mafia style witch war going on in Salem between 2 of the store that sell the more wiccan items.
If a place is advertised as being haunted it most likely isn't. Most of the normal houses and building are though. Most people I know from Salem believe casually in ghosts which means we all grew up with strange stuff happening so we are all desensitized to it at this point.
You probably can tell from this but most people who live in Salem hate the tourists that go there.
I grew up on a locally known cursed street in Salem were a lot of strange stuff happened my house was so intensely haunted I have a scar on my eye from what we believe was a ghost. My neighbor who was a old lady living with her son died via a heart attack on her kitchen floor and 5 years later her son dies the exact same way in the exact same position in the exact same place. This is not even revealing the one house on the street that my best friend lived in that was so cursed it caused the murder suicide.

They definitely did not have exact coordinates. You can tell where it was based on the cell tower it sent from. However, these old Nokia era phones used capacitive buttons with a rubber keypad over the numbers. It’s not improbable that the crash dislodged the keypad and pressed the other buttons. It could easily call his speed dial numbers by pressing 1 then call, or 2 then call.

    • @MarioGoatse

So 1 and then Call button will call the first number. 2 and then Call button will call the second number. All the way up to 9. After the call button is pressed, any inputs do nothing, unless you hang up. Surely you’ve called someone and then accidentally pressed a button. It just beeps. Once that call drops out, or is hung up, then it can call again. It’s a train accident, so I don’t see how it’s unlikely that the capacitive keypad became dislodged and then started pressing other buttons. If that seems far fetched to you, then you’re not as logical as you think you are. You have two options. A physical deformation of a physical electrical device, or a ghost in the after life picks up their phone to call someone.

If more buttons than can be addressed are pressed at once, it just does nothing. For the damage to be so specific that it can carry out 35 calls back to back doing what you claim seems unlikely.

You know, just like you mentioned in the video, the Salem witch trials were one of the darkest events in US history. That’s why it’s completely shocking to me that there are no good horror movies about it. It’s such a fertile source to work from.

He couldn’t take the train for months afterwards, and even when he finally could again, he basically never did again while he worked in the area. A lot of people here still vividly remember that event, myself included. If people are interested I can share more, omitting my dad and I’s names ofc .

I think the most haunting things I've seen was on TikTok. There was this semi-popular account where a man was chronicaling his battle with covid, presumably unvaxxinated. He was hospitalized and soon stopped posting, as he died from it.
But if you went back into his video catalogue to about a week or two before, you could see him at a wrestling match cheering-- but you could hear one person coughing loudly in the background very clearly.
He could have gotten Covid from anywhere, really. But this was 2020 to 2021 iirc where the vaccine was just rolling out and not everyone had a chance to get it yet. He could have gotten it from a visit to the grocery store before or after the wrestling match. But it's just something that stuck with me. I don't remember the channel name but reddit might. It was a pretty popular thing that happened.

I feel bad for the young man in the first story.
Barely out of his teens and a hard worker. If there’s one thing I can respect dearly, is the future generations wanting to graft hard for their money, rather than thinking they’re entitled to it.
